I keep getting this error and I’ve been trying all day to fix it with no luck. It pops up some times whenever I open my mods list before I start launch a city.
I’m still able to start a new city, but I’m unable to open the map editor. I was working on making a new map all week and I’m now unable to open it today or any other map file. It doesn’t seem like I can use the map editor at all. I’m not 100% sure, but I think this error has something to do with the reason why. It started to pop up when I was no longer able to open files in the map editor.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

Yeah, instead of having a built-in system for mods that at least identifies which mod is causing issues you have to comb through mods one by one like a detective to figure it out yourself. Wonderful method. Manage your mods, a**hole. Thank you Paradox!
Instead it is up to me to spend an hour or two (or three) to go through mods one by one and find out manually which of the 50 mods I use started to develop issues in the latest patch instead of playing the game. Thank you!
OP does have a valid point, although frustration even understandable should not be ventilated to mr grapplehoeker who is always here to help and assist and posts to nearly every question. Chapeau.
Cities is an awesome game and can be played without mods. What makes cities extra-ordinairy and exceptional are the mods. And OP is right also the devs themselves ‘liked it’ and promoted it which means one goes with the other which is great. Respect to collosal for opening up like that.
Where i find OP has a valid point is that technically it should be possible to have a somewhat better report on crashed and exceptions to not waste time on searching a needle in the haystack. I’ll be honest i did that once (indeed 3 hours).. followed all guides. Even moved my mods and assets to local disk (and unsubscribed workshop etc). Recently same happened crashes etc so for now i gave up. I decided to wait some weeks to see if problem fixes itself and i can load my safe again. If not — game over. Which is not what anybody should desire but I hear many people doing that even some famous youtubers. Silvarret once complained he could not finish his city and there are many others. Thats remains a frustrating experience when you spend numerous hours building.
So my point is. For a game that is so great with mods and assets and that frequently crashes due to these mods and assets. not the fault of the devs.. it would make life at least easier to have a better crash report. and if not well, then so be it too.

Greetings, everyone! Tonight I reinstalled my OS (Win7 x64) with backup of AppDataLocalColossal Order folder.
Then I installed Steam, restored backup and tried to play C:S, but some of my mods don’t work anymore.
Here’s the list, but it might be bigger, ’cause I have 39 mods:
— No Tree Dirt
— Pause on Load
— Advanced Vehicle Options
— Improved Public Transport
— Extended Public Transport UI
— Building Eyedropper Tool
— Enhanced Zoom
— Road Anarchy
— etc.
Also, Traffic++ have just updated today, maybe that’s because of it?
Since 1.1.1 patch was released, I was using Traffic++ in ghost mode and there wasn’t any issues for me.
But now turning on ghost mode isn’t solving this problem and turning off isn’t either.
Traffic++ itself works perfectly with new update.

Hmm… the problem has solved when I unsubscribed «No Tree Dirt» mod, but why it causes this? It was working without any troubles for a long time until I reinstalled Windows. There’s no any update for it on the workshop, so I can’t understand a reason why this mod isn’t working anymore…

При запуске игры.
Изначально загружал карту, но на ней кроме меню ничего не было и вода. Так понимаю что-то с модами. Смысл тогда от этого воркшопа, если гемора с ним столько же сколько и на пиратке, там то хоть знаешь куда что ставил и что нужно удалять. А тут дремучий лес. Может кто знает как решить проблему.
Файлы подкачки увеличивал и все таком духе уже пробовал. Переустановить стим нет возможности, без вариантов столько игр и модов к ним скачивать и настраивать. (по крайней мере раньше так нужно было делать каждый раз при переустановки стима).

I copy the error as it really does not tell me much as to what exactly is the issue. Now I look at my city and it seems that the majority of my roads are gone and well.. as you know if.. if the roads are gone THE CITY IS gone!

This mod replaces generic error messages in the game and helps you find broken assets
Still in beta!
Features:
– Error messages are now more elaborate. They always provide error stack trace and, if possible, asset name, mod name and other details.
– Mod errors that have been previously ignored and caused a variety of subtle invisible bugs are now always reported, so that you can fix them.
– You can now suppress selected exception dialogs, which in general is not recommended. If this is not working for you, you can suppress all exceptions in general by going to mod options.
– The errors are now more isolated. All errors that provide more details than the stack trace (eg. mod name, asset name) are now isolated, so that the simulation keeps running. Keep in mind that suppressing them is still only a temporary solution, as the error will probably spread further. Repeated errors that provide only stack trace still render your game unplayable almost instantly.
Do not forget to enable this mod in content manager!

If you are reporting an error to a source mod, please always include the log file (output_log.txt) besides the error message! You can find the log folder by going to options of this mod and clicking «Open log folder».
This mod is still in beta, so please report any bugs regarding this mod. You can still encounter many errors that don’t provide details such as asset name although in principle they could. In the future I might gradually extend this mod to other areas of game code. Currently the patched areas are: SimulationStep methods of BuildingAI, VehicleAI, CitizenAI, TranportlineAI, NetAI; ThreadingWrapper for mods.
Please, do not paste your errors in the comment section. Report them to the source mod/asset. You can use a dedicated topic in discussion section too, but it is not in my capabilities to provide much support.
