With respect to updating my bios, a friend made the same suggestion to do so. I have searched for how to do update the bios, but I am at a loss for how to accomplish doing so. I just bought and built a computer and am having trouble booting into Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. It’s all relatively new hardware and I can’t find much online about it, except for slightly different errors.

I can’t seem to get into grub2 either to try other boot options, although this was an issue when I was trying Ubuntu GamePack 20.04, (which did successfully install and boot, but it was having network issues), so I’m wondering if that’s an issue with my keyboard or the BIOS not letting me shift into it.
When I tried booting with the BIOS’s Compatibility Support Module, my BIOS stopped booting altogether and I had to reset the motherboard. I’m thinking those settings have more to do with the BIOS boot and not the OS boot.
Anyways, let me know if I’ve left out any critical information. Any help would be very appreciated!

I have installed Linux mint debian 5 and my computer is giving this error during startup. What is the cause of this error and how can it be resolved?
I just upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and ram. My computer was working fine for a day, but then I tried to plug in an HDD without shutting down my PC first, and then it just crashed. For about an hour, it just launched to initramfs when I tried to boot up. After a while, I remembered I recently turned on intel rapid storage technology, so I tried disabling that. A little while after that, it just started working. By working, I mean it didn’t go to initramfs, it just brought up a few normal errors followed by an unknown chip error. Another thing that was different was that the GRUB menu thing asked about launching Ubuntu instead of specifically stating Linux mint 20.1 Ulyssa like it normally does. I disabled LAN to fix the error, but it still didn’t boot. The same thing happened, but instead of just booting after the errors, it just didn’t. It just kept the error messages on the screen until I shut it down. And that brings me to where I am now. My screen says:
ACPI BIOS Error (bug) : Failure creating named object
I thought maybe this was the problem. I found some stuff online about installing graphics drivers and turning off secure boot. It sounds like these would work, but how do I install a graphics driver if can’t boot my OS? I tried to turn off secure boot, but that didn’t work. Please help me out. I just want to be able to use my desktop with my new upgrades.

Last week I tried to duel boot my windows 11 with Ubuntu using the flash drive but I cannot. In bootloader I am able to see the flash drive and ubuntu too but after 5 seconds or pressing enter instead of booting into Ubuntu I am getting the below error. I don’t if the problem is regarding Windows 11 compatibility issue or something related to BIOS/ACPIP. I tried to disable secure boot. But no use. Even I tried to update the BIOS firmware but the actual one is updated. I don’t know what the problem is. Please help me to sort out this problem The error code as follows

Edit: I finally found a way to boot in Ubuntu by just adding «nomodeset» before quiet splash. But now i have a new problem which is brightness issue. I cant change the brightness at all even with the physical key or the toggle in top right. Iam having amd vega 6 graphics. I don’t know what to do. I tried somethings like adding «acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi=linux». Because i have already added the «nomodeset» permanently. If I do the above I won’t boot into Ubuntu at all. What can the possible solution be. Please help me with this.
Edit: Iam also facing the weird problem of suspend(sleep) where my laptop will show a blank screen but the fans and the light from the power will start working. I can only use my laptop after i suspend(sleep) is by powering off the laptop by holding the power button for some time(forcefully). Finally I don’t why iam facing these problems as i don’t have a dedicated graphic card like Nvidia. I am just having an integrated amd redon vega graphic card with Amd Ryzen 5 4500U processor.

You might have to ask around on forums with users that use Ubuntu.
MSI doesn’t officially support operating systems other than Windows.

I get these errors when I boot up archlinux. Can someone help me figure out how to resolve them? I fear these issues might be hampering my laptop’s battery life.
