I also tried this ACPI patch, no effect https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-for-boot-hangs-after-bios-update-acpi-patch.275091/
I also used this link for Catalina USB port patches: https://hackintosher.com/forums/thread/list-of-hackintosh-usb-port-limit-patches-10-15-updated.467/

Brand new to Hackintosh, please be gentle. Got Win10 on a 512GB SSD and I’m trying to add Catalina using OpenCore 0.6.4. Hitting an ACPI error when trying to boot, which isn’t terribly surprising because I’m maybe 30% confident in my ACPI and Kexts, but my attempts at looking up (or even interpreting) this error are getting me at best a few forum posts that didn’t get solved.

Hardware:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB Founders Edition Video Card
- RAM: 16 GB
- Motherboard/Laptop model: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard
- Screen(s) Number: 2
- Screen(s) Resolution: 1080p
- Audio Codec: Realtek ALC1200
- Ethernet Card: Intel I211 Gigabit Network Connection
-
What guide/tool I followed:
- Dortania OpenCore Install Guide, which regrettably it seems does not include this error in its troubleshooting
-
What part I got an issue with:
- The error I get. You’ll notice that the last line seems cut off. I’ve tried it multiple times and it cuts off at different points (the earliest I’ve ever seen was right after the «RTC: Only Single RAM bank (128 bytes)» line. I imagine it’s the ACPI error that’s causing the issue, but it’s interesting that it keeps doing other things before it hangs.
-
What files/config I am using:
- My ACPI folder
- My Kexts folder (I’m a little skeptical about how many of these there are)
- config.plist
-
Current disk setup
- (Disk 0) HDD with exFAT partition for shared Win/Mac storage
- (Disk 1) Win10 on 512GB SSD with partition for MacOS
- (Disk 2) External hard drive with EFI partition being used for USB boot
-
Debug
So my guess is there’s a _STA method somewhere that’s not getting fed any parameters?

I have problem with BIOS on my laptop. It looks like a bug with error code, some method(s) is not implemented.
ACPI BIOS error (bug): Could not resolve [SB.PCI0.LPCB.HEC.ECAV], AE_NOT_FOUND (20181213/psargs-330)
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed TZ.FNCL, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181213/pspargs-531)

I’ve tryed to use option nouveau.setmode=0 after — in grub (edit mode) Also nomodeset option, it doesn’t help with installation.
nouveau.setmode=0 option
Once by some miracle ubuntu distr have done the setup, without any errors, but after reloading I haven’t seen anything in boot options (UEFI)
I followed the instruction by ubuntu server instalation https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/hpc/The-Best-Way-To-Install-Ubuntu-16-04-with-NVIDIA-Drivers-and-C… and faced with the same problems
Only one way to drop this error — add option acpi=off but in this case I have no a lot of features on my laptop
I tried to connect with HP support assistants but they told me — we don’t support any linux distrs, only windows, sorry. Maybe later we’ll update BIOS, and your problem will be solved.
Could anybody help me to fix this issue?
