This workaround WORKS! First, launch AE by clicking on a file extension that is supported by AE; I used .aep. After effects will launch and open the project file. Second, head over to preferences GENERAL dialog and untick the ENABLE HOME SCREEN. Close then re-launch AE by ticking on your shortcut to the AE executable and enjoy. Thank you!

Getting started with After Effects
I’m on I’ve been getting the following error every time I open After Effects:
«After effects error: crash in progress, last logged message was…»
However, when I launch AE from a .aep file, it seems to load and work fine.
I’ve tried reinstalling After Effects, messing with my Firewall settings, updating all of my computer’s drivers, updating my graphics driver, and many other small things, and nothing seems to help. I ‘ve also tried the reme3dy I saw online of disabling the home screen on startup, but that didn’t help either. Does anybody have any ideas? I just installed more RAM in my computer the other day (a 32GB stick), but when I looked in the memory settings when I got it to load from an .aep file., all of the 48GB of RAM in my computer were showing up as useable. I’m totally stumped. Here are my system specs:

Помогите решить проблему. Работал с проектом на следующий день открыл АЕ и он при открытии того же проекта выдал ошибку: «After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <6032>

Излечил вроде всеми доступными способами, но все равно при запуске проекта выдает эту ошибку. В старых проектах такой ошибки не наблюдается и у меня возникло предположение: возможно ли такое, что эта ошибка появляется из-за большого количества футажей? |

Вообщем у меня все заработало. Я просто удалил папку dynamiclink в C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobe . потом я создал чистый слой и поставил на него соло просмотр. Дальше просто из корзины вернул папку dynamiclink обратно и когда зашел в проект убрал соло просмотр с слоя и ошибка исчезла. |

AE crashes on me when I switch between Illustrator and AE.
AE gives me this message:
«After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: Set Artisan Task: Classic 3D»
I’m working on a PC — Windows 7 Professional,
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.GHz, 32 GB Ram,
After Effects: CC 2017 (no updates currently available)
I’m not using any 3d layers, but AM using the Duik script for puppets.

Have you tried resetting preferences yet? Give that a try and report back.

Thanks, Kevin. Yeah — i’ve deleted the preferences. I also uninstalled and re-installed AE. I kind of think that the script DUIK might be causing the malfunction. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

Hey harnment (and anyone else running into this issue) — I discovered a solution that worked for me.
tl;dr solution: Try updating the drivers for your Graphics Card.
Here’s everything I did for those who might stumble upon this later.
For me, I was doing some disk cleanup manually on my computer (specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM, C: drive had about 700GB allocated to it from a 1.5TB partition), prepping to migrate to an SSD, and I intentionally deleted old project cache under ..AppDataLocalTemp and ..AppDataRoamingAdobeCommon. Which I later discovered that I probably should’ve just done this through Premiere’s Preferences for Media & Disk Cache. Ah well.
Anyway. I was previously using After Effects CC 2015 version 13.7.1 and after some time of not using it, decided to upgrade to CC2017. After launching, it loaded, but whenever I added a New Composition, it those error windows then crashed (the app hanged and I would have to kill it from Task Manager). I tested all three options when creating a New Composition for renderers, and all three caused the same «Set Artisan Task» error. Uninstalled and re-installed Adobe After Effects CC2017. Restarted with resetting preferences. All of this was unsuccessful.
I wound up creating a new project with NTSC DV and it didn’t happen immediately but then when I switched a window, another an error with the timestamp («TimestampGetNext ZANZIBAR-3: cannot produce timestamp»). After digging around for that, someone suggested updating the graphics card and it worked for them.
I definitely don’t have anything too hardcore with my graphics card (yet) since I’ve been more in it for audio production, admittedly, but after finding the settings for my graphics card, An AMD Radeon HD 6450, it turns out the last driver date was 2011. (First Google result here was sufficient help for finding more info on this). Downloaded AMD’s auto-detect and update app (customized it, so it didn’t download some video game center type of program, since I’m not a gamer). Let it run without anything else open to update, restart, and then FINALLY got After Effects CC2017 to launch, create new compositions without error and was able to open old projects. Fun way to spend a Sunday morning. ;0)

Делал сложный ролик вчера в связке premier-ae . Сегодня хотел отрендерить все это дело — и на тебе : after потерял все линки на авишки из премьера, и в итоге в премьере те куски, что были обработаны в AE — пустышки. При попытке в AE cделать replace futage — After Effects error : Crash in progress. Last logged message was : <2708><ae.blitpipe> 2 rect: 24.000000 I: 0.000000 w: 902.000000 h: 444.000000, (0::42).
Система — только установлення Vista x86, adobe master collections cs4. Из сторонних плагинов только boris continuum 6, sapphire и magic bullet looks, соответственно установлены и в премьер, и в афтер. Причем сегодня попробовал в новом проекте, если не закрывать AE, то премьер через media encoder прекрасно отрендерил готовый mpg. В афтере специально сделал пару прекомпозов с кучей масок — все нормально. Но стоить только закрыть афтер с премьером — вся работа насмарку.
Система без кодек паков, из софта сторонние проги только Edius (без плагинов), DVD Lab и ImageBurn, даже nero не ставил . Уважаемые гуру ! Подскажите в чем проблема. Вчерашнюю работу переделал, вручную подсунув каждую авишку в проэкт AE. Но на будущее хотелось бы знать, что за облом такой. Да еще: ноут HP Pavilon dv9100, 3Gb ram, видяха GeForce 128Mb (Open GL в AE отключено), кеширование и своп (поставил 4Гб) назначены на 2-й винт, мультипроцесинг включен, ползунок смещен влево.На просторах нета ответа не нашел. Посмотрел логи- модули с ошибкой dvaui.dll и ntdll.dll

На просторах нета ответа не нашел
Та же самая проблемма наблюдается и на Win 7… CS5. Пока единственное решение — не закрывать оба приложения. На макоси подобной проблеммы не возникало.((

So I hit «Ok»
After effects runs some text on it’s splash logo and crashed on «Cleanup»
Then a message pops up: «After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <4784> <dynamicLink> <5> (location in HDD ending in dynamiclinkmanager.exe.
So I know how to temperately solve this problem. That solution would be to re-install. I’ve done this 6 different times as of now, and each time results in a breif period of time working untill this error happens again and I have to reinstall.
My question is, HOW DO FIX THIS?! This is so annoying to be dealing with, taking an hour out of my work day where otherwise I would be being productive. Any ideas?

Understood. Was just making sure you didn’t have a corrupted install file. Have you ever tried getting another download (from Adobe) and re-installing with that alternate file?
Also, what version of Windows are you using?

OK, what about the folder inside there that’s called After Effects? Permissions should be inherited but it’s worth double checking. Also, have you reinstalled quicktime by following this procedure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39iwDUxcKo4 (Near halfway through the video) — you need to install application support, application update and, of course, quicktime itself individually.

I have recently installed the lastest version of after effects cs6 onto my new pc with fresh install of windows 7. When i come to launch it I get the error-
Now this error persists every time and is followed up by this error message-

The program then proceeds to force close and doesnt do anything else. My rig is as follows
AsRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional Motherboard
Intel i5 3450 CPU
EVGA GtX660ti FTW edition (Running the LATEST nVidia drivers.
EVGA supernova NEX 650g
8gb 1600MHz Corsair Vengence Ram
40gb SSD (windows only)
500gb Toshiba Sata 3 7200rpm HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium.
As I said im running the newest version of after effects from the update and I thought I would ask here as adobe have taken a week to respond and just asked me what my gpu drivers were and my gpu drivers are the nvidia 320.49 drivers.
I had this problem before when I installed it on my pc but i did a fresh install of windows and the problem still persists.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

I am not using any other adobe products but i might see if i can get my hands on a version of photoshop to see if that works. I will also try to install from the desktop insted of the folder as you said. I will check back when i have done this

Hello.
I’m having a very annoying problem with the link between 3ds Max 2016 and After Effects CC 2015 (Version 13.5.0.347).
I install the plug-in After Effects CC 2015 Composer with «3ds Max 2016 State Sets AE Installers» provided this link:

However, after installation, when I try to open the AE, the following errors appear:
After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in «Autodesk_SceneIO».
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <11768> <dynamiclink> <5> C> Program Files Adobe Adobe After Effects CC 2015 Support Files 32 dynamiclinkmanager.exe
And the AE closes. When I uninstall the plug-in, the AE operates normally.
I tried to install the plug-in in the old way. I copied the files from the external files folder of 3ds max 2016: Adobe.AfterFX.dll, Autodesk.Plugins.Adobe.AfterFX.SceneIO.dll, Autodesk.Plugins.Adobe.AfterFX.SceneIO.Loader.aex. The link appears in the AE menu, but when I try to link the AE lock and closes.
Is there a way around these errors? For months users complain of this integration problems, but apparently nothing has changed.
