Are you getting an unexpected error has occurred in Roblox? Roblox has been out for some time now and it is a very popular game. In fact, it was initially released on 1st September 2006! But just because it has been out for a very long time does not mean that the game is not going to have its problems, as everyone’s system is different. This can lead to all sorts of different crashes, connection issues, or in the case of this guide, an unexpected error.
The message will pop up on your screen when you are trying to play Roblox on your Windows PC or laptop and will say something along the lines of “An Unexpected Error Occured And Roblox Needs To Quit. We`re sorry“, and your game will usually crash.
Below we have put together different methods that you can do that will hopefully fix the unexpected error message that you are receiving when trying to play Roblox games on your Windows 10/11 computer.
It is important to ensure that your system does meet the Roblox PC minimum system requirements, as if it does not then you are going to run into issues, FPS problems, and it could very well be the reason why you are getting this Roblox PC crash error.
What If The Methods Don’t Work?
If the below methods do not fix the unexpected error message that you are getting when trying to play Roblox, then ensure that everything on your system is up to date and if everything is then you might need to reset Windows.
Why Am I Getting Unexpected Error When Playing Roblox?
There can be many reasons why you are getting the unexpected error on your PC. It could be that the game you are trying to play within Roblox has a bug that is causing the game to crash, or it could be one of the game files that are used for the Roblox player has become corrupt.
Unfortunately, you will not know the exact cause as it does not give an error code when the error message is displayed.

- Change the Graphics mode to Manual
- Adjust the Graphics Quality
Fix 5: Uninstall Roblox
- Open File Explorer and type the following in the address bar and press enter: %localappdata%
- Rename the Roblox folder to something else like Robloxbackup (If the Roblox folder does not exist just uninstall the game)
- Now uninstall Roblox by Right-clicking on the start menu and select Apps and Features
- Now search Roblox then select it and uninstall
- Once you have uninstalled the game go ahead and reinstall it on your PC
Fix 6: Use a different web browser
If you are using the web browser version of the game then try another browser to see if a particular one is causing you the Roblox crash issue.
Fix 7: Try the Roblox app version
This only applies if you are using the web browser version of Roblox. If you have already tried different web browsers then try out the Roblox player Microsoft Store version.

Content Manager (Questions & Answers)

So i recently install sol 2.0 and had an issue when starting up a practice session in single player mode in Content Manager. I had Sol 1.0 and horizon shades installed with track and car mods aswell as the sidekick mod whihc ran perfectly before i installed Sol 2.0. I kept getting the «unexpected error» message after it loads up the session which i have to alt tab over to to close. After exiting the session window, on content manager i would get «game crashed» and the following error message
ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (112): Game::onIdle
ACgame.cpp (210): Game::run
ACacs.cpp (477): wWinMain
f:ddvctoolscrtcrtw32dllstuffcrtexe.c (618): __tmainCRTStartup
I have no idea what it means or what the problem is. I saved my mods on a seperate folder, re installed AC and added back the mods and had no issues. I installed Sol 2.0.2 and horizon shaders with CSP verzion 1.71. For got to mention i update CSP for sol 2.0 to 1.68. Still having the same issue but not with every track. I dont know why. Can somebody look into it and see how i would be able to fix it?

If you have this set to «steam» — then set it back to AppID!
After that just remove «ContentManager.exe» from where you put it after download.
CM is not to be confused with CustomShadersPatch (CSP), to remove that:
-you either remove «dwrite.dll» from AC folder (more stuff in next post, but thats CSP itself)
-or use this button:

This has happened to me 3-4 times over the last couple years.. Everytime it has, a full reinstall has been in order.
Surely one time it was because I filled up the harddrive that AC was on and at that point it doesnt matter how much stuff I deleted, still corrupted the game and needed to be fully deleted and reinstalled.
Good luck and this may not be your issue, just throwing my experience out there..

No, not yet, disable all apps and remove «DWrite.dll» from ac folder (thats CustomShadersPatch), then try with vanilla AC.
If still not working now also remove docs folder, then try with vanilla AC again.

Hi there fellow drivers!
I’ve been introduced to the digital racing world for about a year ago and still enjoying the times I sit behind the wheel but still got lost in the jungle of settings..
From the beginning I bought the loadcell brake from Fanatec because of the many happy users and been playing with the settings till.. Well not long ago.. I was using a Playseat and set the Brake force to 20/30 because I didn’t want to bend the rig but couldn’t find the sweet spot and took me a while to tell myself that it doesn’t change the amount of braking in game if I press it trough the rig or just press it to its maximum I set it to even with my new Rseat RS1 I didn’t set it higher then 50, but that’s not the reason for this topic!
My question is what are the best wheel/game settings, I’ve been playing for a couple of months with the same settings and I drove myself some nice times on the green hell!
I started with drifting last week so made a new profile with my drift settings, but today I wanted to do some tourist rounds on multiplayer and took my main settings but it felt different.. So I made some changes and now I’m not satisfied at all, took the Base settings from the Fanatec forum and changed the Gyro setting in the .ini file and it felt totally different then before.
Searched the internet for some tips and advises but I’m getting lost in the forest of settings..
Should I use FFBClip ingame or FFB settings from CM or the FFB settings came with CSP?
My gear:
Fanatec CSL Elite Wheel Base (officially licensed for PlayStation)
CSL Elite Racing Wheel P1
ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula 1 Esports
CSL Elite Pedals + Loadcell
Please ask me anything I need to provide for more information about settings etc.

Custom Shaders Patch freezing and crashing on the server

Hello, I have my own server, past 2, 3 weeks everything was perfect but since 8 of June (3 days ago) game start crashing. I’m using content manager, last version, custom shaders patch, before I used 0.1.78-pre. After realizing 0.1.78 I started using 0.1.79-pre. On the server, after 5, 10, 60 secs or few mins game freezes for 1 sec (like it try to load something) and I get message (screen) «unfortunately, Assetto Corsa has crashed». I have this problem with all of the csp versions now. I thought that it maybe problem with my own server, I tested on other servers and I have the same problem. I reinstalled assetto corsa, content manager, csp, deleted all the settings, tried to deactivate some/all csp extensions, changed graphics settings but nothing works I hope that someone can help me, thank you!
P.s. Video how it looks like:

When you say you’ve tried deactivating all CSP extensions, does that include deactivating CSP itself?
And does this occur on any other games, or only with AC?
[edit]: I forgot to mention that your video was very helpful in describing the issue, so thank you. Also, does the issue show up in single-player/offline mode?

Thank you very much for the reply. If I delete patch from Settings -> CSP, and try to join every server I get a message: «Server auth failed, please update content manager to v0.8.2329.38887 (screen 1), but my CM version is 0.8.2329.39063 (screen 2).
About over games, I play GTA V rage sometimes and don’t have any problems.
About single player mod, I didn’t tested it because I don’t play it anymore, only in multiplayer)
P.S. I tryed to roll back my windows, that didn’t help me either.

Unfortunately, I’ve never encountered such an error and cannot help you out there. I suppose you could try to reinstall CM, but I suppose it’s unlikely to fix it since you’re able to connect to the server when CSP is installed. Sorry.
Does Content Manager ever tell you that «your GPU might be overclocked too much or overheated»? I usually get that message after CSP crashes.

I get this message, is there a fix for this?
I underclocked my gpu to counteract this but it didn’t help. So far the only CSP version that my game doesn’t crash on is 1.6.0

I use CSP v1.74, but haven’t tried any other versions to determine whether those will fix the problem
Do you use an Nvidia graphics card?
If so, do the following after you get another crash:
Go to your «Event Viewer» Windows program.
Then go to «Windows Logs > System»
Check the immediate, recent events, and look for something along the lines of «nvidia display driver» with Event ID 13.
If you have that, then I think the fix is to disable Windows Update. I’m unable to explain with complete clarity, because I’m quite tech-illiterate, but the gist of the situation is that Windows Update tries to install or update your graphics driver, which causes issues for your game.
You can disable Windows Update by doing this:
Go to the program «Services» (you can search for this, too).
Go down the list until you find the «Windows Update» service, and right click on it to select «Properties».
Stop the service (if it’s running) and select «Disabled» in the «Startup type» dropdown box.
Beware that Windows ALWAYS finds a way to re-enable your Windows Update service. I’ve been unsuccessful at permanently disabling that service, so I’ve pinned the «Services» app to my toolbar so that I can check whether it’s disabled before racing. When Windows does re-enable the service by itself, the error eventually returns.
I cannot say with complete certainty that this will fix your issue, but it has worked very well for me. At the very least, I hope that you will learn to use the Event Viewer program so that you can identify the root issue. Try taking a look, even if you have an AMD card.

Some PC gamers are reporting the issue whereby when you start or while playing exclusively Riot Games like VALORANT, War or Warships or League of Legends on Windows 11 or Windows 10 computer, the game crashes with the error prompt indicating A critical error has occurred and the process must be terminated. This post provides the most suitable solutions to this issue.
What is a critical system error?
A critical error is a serious computer error that forces the program to stop and it becomes impossible for the running program, operating system or software to continue working normally. This error might cause the computer to reboot or freeze.
When this system error is triggered on your gaming computer, a an error prompt with the following full message is displayed:
A critical error has occurred end the process must be terminated.
Would you like to create a crash dump to aid the developers in troubleshooting this issue? This may take up to 5 minutes.
NOTE: The process may appaer unresponsive during this time.
What is a Windows crash dump?
A system crash (also known as a “bug check” or a “Stop error”) occurs when Windows can’t run correctly. The dump file that is produced from this event is called a system crash dump. They can hog gigabytes of hard drive storage. Windows only automatically delete crash dump files when HDD space is limited. However, users can also erase crash dumps with cleanup utilities.
Investigations reveal the following are the most common culprit of this error;
- Overclocked CPU or GPU
- MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner
- Game Launch Settings
- Outdated Display Drivers
- Insufficient Permissions
Read: Valorant Crashing Mid Game or on Startup
If you are getting the A critical error has occurred and the process must be terminated when you start or while playing any Riot games like VALORANT, War or Warships or League of Legends on your Windows 11/10 system, you can try our recommended fixes below in no particular order to resolve the issue and get back to playing your favorite game on your rig.
- Run the game with admin privilege
- Change game settings
- Remove the Config and Logs Folders
- Update graphics adapter driver
- Revert overclocking (if applicable)
- Reinstall the game
- Update BIOS
Let’s see the description of the listed solutions.
1] Run the game with admin privilege
Some affected PC gamers reported that every other thing being equal, they were able to resolve the A critical error has occurred and the process must be terminated issue on their Windows 11/10 gaming system by simply running the game as an administrator but make sure the VGC service is started and set as Automatic Startup Type prior to the task.
2] Change game settings
The issue in highlight can also be resolve by altering the game launch settings stored in the GameSettings.ini file in the Valorant or League of Legends directory as the case may be. Essentially, the file stores your basic configuration that is to be used whenever you launch the game on your PC.
To change game launch settings, do the following:
- Press Windows key + R to invoke the Run dialog.
- In the Run dialog box, type environment variable below and hit Enter.
%appdata%
- In the File Explorer window that opens, click the up facing arrow to go back a step.
- Now, double-click the Local folder.
- Next, navigate to ShooterGame > Saved > Config > WindowsClient directory.
- Next, open up the GameUserSettings.ini file with any Text Editor.
- In the open file, change the value of DefaultMonitorIndex from 0 to -1.
- After that, change the LastConfirmedMonitorIndex value from 0 to -1.
- Save the changes and close the file.
See if the issue is resolved when you launch or while playing the game. Otherwise, try the next solution.

3] Remove the Config and Logs Folders
Another viable solution to this Riot Games-specific issue you are currently facing is deleting the Config and Logs folders within the LoL or Valorant folder. To perform this task, do the following:
- Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
- Navigate to the default directory path below:
C:Program FilesRiot Games
- At the location, open the game folder and delete the mentioned folders.
- Exit File Explorer.
4] Update graphics adapter driver
Depending on the GPU in use AMD or NVIDIA, this solution simply requires you to make use of the AMD Radeon software or the GeForce Experience app installed for NVIDIA graphic cards and update your graphics adapter driver on your Windows 11/10 gaming rig.
Read: Fix Valorant Graphics Driver Crashed error on Windows PC
5] Revert overclocking (if applicable)
This solution requires you stop overclocking your CPU or GPU. So, if you have overclocked your PC, you can simply reverse the change depending on the overclocking software in use like MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner. Generally, launch the software and look for the option to stop the overclocking or simply uninstall the software altogether. Once done, restart your computer and see if the issue is resolved. Otherwise, proceed with the next solution.
6] Reinstall the game
If youre still encountering the error, this possible solution simply requires you to download and then run the Hextech Repair Tool. Once you download and install the tool, run the tool with administrative privileges, then follow the on-screen instructions to repair/reinstall the LoL game. Alternatively, you ca use a third-party software uninstaller to uninstall the game, and then proceed to the official Riot Games website and redownload and install the latest version of the game. Afterwards, check if the problem persists. If so, proceed with the next solution.
7] Update BIOS
At this point, if the issue you’re currently facing is still unresolved on your Windows 11/10 gaming device, then you can try updating the BIOS and firmware on your system.
Using tools from OEMs is the easiest way to do so. All OEM manufacturers have utilities that help you easily update, BIOS, firmware, and drivers. Search for yours and download it from the official site only. This is the safest way to update the BIOS.
- If you own a Dell laptop you can head over to Dell.com, or you could use Dell Update Utility.
- ASUS users can download the MyASUS BIOS update utility from the Microsoft Store.
- ACER users can go here. Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model, select BIOS/Firmware, and click the Download link for the file you want to download.
- Lenovo users can use the Lenovo System Update Tool.
- HP users can use the bundled HP Support Assistant.
Hope this helps!
Why does my computer say critical process died?
The critical process died issue is basically caused when a critical component of Windows detects that data has been modified when it should not have been. This element could be a bad driver, a memory error, etc. Most of the time, this error occurs all of a sudden when users are working on their PCs.
