Boot camp re-install error 2753

I just solved a big problem with my boot camp 🙂 i spend 7 hours.

After deleting boot camp 3.2 i tried to install new boot camp 3.3 but it doesnt work.

The most interesting — boot camp 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 doesnt setup too. — Error 2753.

I go to the internet to find answer. A few peoples wrote to download and install BootCamp 2.0.1, and after it 3. I found only version for xp and vista. No for win7.

After 7 hour i found a solution. Error 2753 happens because of file c:/windows/system32/AppleOSSMgr.exe. I just deleted it and try to setup again. And it works!

For all who receive error 2753 when setup bootcamp! Just try to delete file c:/windows/system32/AppleOSSMgr.exe

IT SIMPLY WORKS!

Am I only the third person in the world trying to install Boot Camp drivers onto Win 7 Pro 64 on Mac Mini 2010 with the official install DVD?

Well then why did it take me 8 hours to find a solution that actually worked?

I got «64 not supported. » so I did the right-click compatability method.

I then got the 2753 error, which could not be resolved not matter how many version of Boot Camp I tried, and oh boy let me tell you I tried them all, with several different Mac Install DVDs from 2008-2010.

Deleting the file c:/windows/system32/AppleOSSMgr.exe actually allowed the install of Boot Camp 3.0 to actually go through.

Problem however, is that file has something to do with the Boot Camp icon. that is not where it should be and controls which OS to boot to. (something something EFI)

When you install bootcamp it overwrites it..

Logic would dictate that the AppleOSSMgr.exe would be in place after installing bootcamp, but I don’t think I saw it until after my second attempt.

Additionally, my BootCamp notification icon did not appear until after I installed the updates 3.2 or 3.3.

My mac mini is finally at peace.

There were some foolish suggestions, the part of going back to 2.0. typo?

Did you mean «delete» or proper method, uninstall?

Apple made it messy, getting better now, but you needed 3.0, and then upgrade to get 3.3.

Apple OS Switcher part of Apple Services msconfig and found in control panel Boot Camp is «handy» but not 100% essential (I ran Mac w/ Windows only and never needed to change default / could be done from Mac side Startup Disk and write the variable to NVRAM).

Going back to 3.0 is all. And when Lion and BC 4.0 came out and were buggy, people needed to uninstall BC 4.0, then go back to SL DVD BC 3.0.

What Apple should have and has transitioned to is to download the newest full package.

That was suppose to be part of Boot Camp Assistant, and intro’d in 10.6.6, but it rarely (10% success?) worked (more field testing, us) and got better with 10.6.8.

Of course with LION this became the only method to get a set of Windows drivers, BCA and wait and download and store locally.

MS Installer Cleanup Utility use to be helpful for such chores.

Turning off services is still possible along wth Startupitems.

Had you asked here, can’t recall, but Windows 7 came out after 10.6, Apple though didn’t rewrite BC 3.0, they just said, and confused people, with «you need Boot Camp 3.1» and of course in some cases 3.0 was so bad people could not reboot into Windows and HFS read-only was also ‘hazardous.’

Sometimes seems like a) $30 for Lion just for drivers, and b) Intel and every motherboard manuf has to provide drivers for their products to add chipset support. And it is not this bad or require old out of date buggy drivers in order to install the correct ones you need.

I don’t recall in 5 yrs ever once seeing that error code mentioned and posted here. Kind of thing that sticks and I’d remember, and bookmark as well as search on MS and Bing.

Boot Camp Update error 2753

I ran into issues getting a customer’s 24″ inch iMac 6_1 (2007) to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 with a stop at Vista along the way to preserve programs.

The Vista to Windows 7 jump failed and rolled back to Vista so some of the steps needed were:

1. Upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6
2. Update Vista to Vista SP2
3. Upgrade to Boot Camp 3.0 (boot into Vista and open the Snow Leopard DVD) — NOTE: other updates won’t work without 3.0.

Then it got fun.

I downloaded the 3.1 updater form teh Boot Camp downloads offered by Apple.( http://support.apple.com/downloads/#macoscomponents )

Trying to update Boot Camp drivers to 3.1 gave the error:

«Boot Camp Services: The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753.»

Some solutions said to reinstall BootCamp but Boot Camp was not found in the «Programs and Features» control panel.

I was also told that deleting c:windowssystem32AppleOSSMgr.exe (maybe renaming it would do?) would bypass this error but this file was not present.

Faulty install from teh OS 10.6 DVD? (copying the files and folders from DVD to local disk may work better. Didn’t try)

On an act of desperation I booted into Vista and ran START > Programs > Apple Software Update and Apple Software Update knew 3.0 was installed!

It was able to update just fine.

After reboot, «Apple Application Support» and «Boot Camp services» were listed in Programs and Features.

Boot Camp control panel was listed, but would not launch «Application not found.»

Apple Software Update offered me Boot Camp 3.1 again, so I’m going to try the 3.2 updater from the downloads page. (May try to «Repair» Boot Camp 3.1 from Programs and Features» control panel as well)

Also note there is a Windows 7 upgrade utility/patch offered there for anyone moving from Vista.

Maybe this was an obvious fix for the 2753, but I might save others ten minutes.

Appleossmgr exe error boot camp

Я уже перерыл все что возможно и все что невозможно, но свои проблемы с MacBook и Windows 7 решить мне так и не удалось.

MacBook 13.3 выпуска конца 2008 года, в алюминиевом корпусе. 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (модель 5.1 по-моему) с операционной системой Mac OS version 10.5.6.

Установил на него второй операционкой Windows 7 Ultimate. Работает. Первая проблема в том, что система вообще не видит раздел, на котором установлена Mac ОС. Причем загрузить MacBook в Mac OS я могу. Раздел на месте.
Вопрос 1 — почему она не видит этот раздел?
Вопрос 2 — как это можно исправить?

Сразу после установки Windows 7 вставил в привод диск с Mac OS, чтобы установить драйвера Boot Camp. Не тут-то было, система сообщила об ошибке 2229, и соответственно установщик драйверов не запустился. В панели управления, как и следовало ожидать, нет значка Boot Camp.
Вопрос 3 — почему он не запускается?
Вопрос 4 — как это можно исправить?
Вопрос 5 — как установить панель управления Boot Camp?

Пришлось устанавливать драйвера вручную. При помощи топора и тапка. Скопировал папку Boot Camp с диска на бук. Двойным нажатием на каждый из драйверов побуждал систему к их установке )) Она ругалась, но предлагала запустить установку в режиме совместимости при помощи помощника по совместимости программ. Таким образом заработали Magic Mouse, камера Built-in iSight, трекпад (но не работает до сих пор функция правой кнопки), звук, видео, в общем все работает вроде бы как надо. Но не работают функциональные клавиши Mac — увеличение/уменьшение яркости экрана, громкости, клавиша извлечения оптического диска и иже с ними. Работают эти клавиши только как F1-F12. По этому поводу в директории Boot CampDriversApple с диска Mac OS (скопированная папка) был извлечен из архива файл BootCamp.msi, были сделаны попытки запустить AppleControlPanel.exe (запускается, но не работает как надо), AppleOSSMgr.exe (не запускается), appletimesrv.exe (не запускается), KbdMgr.exe (не запускается). Эти попытки, к моему большому сожалению, ни к чему не привели.
Вопрос 6 — почему не работают клавиши Mac?
Вопрос 7 — как заставить их работать?
Вопрос 8 — почему не работает должным образом трекпад?
Вопрос 9 — как заставить и его работать как надо?
Вопрос 5 снова — как установить панель управления Boot Camp?
Вопрос 10 — где собака зарыта?
