Hi folks,
Sometime some users receive a message “Unable to create copy/move destination directory…” when trying install scripts.
As a rule this issue occurs when a user changed a default directory for user profile.
By default a directory of user profile located by path “C:Users<USERNAME>AppDataLocalAutodesk3dsMax20XXXENU“.
But user can change this path to one directory with 3ds Max installation directory using the “InstallSettings.ini” file.
But by default this directory requires administrative privilegies.
So if you changed a default directory then you also must add capability to users for reading and writing to 3ds Max installation directory.
Solution:
Steps to fix:
1. For fixing this issue select the 3ds Max installation directory and choose from explorer menu the menu item “Properties” and add the capability “Full control” for all users.
2.Close 3ds Max or Max Design.
3.Navigate to: C:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max or Max DesignInstallSettings.ini
4.Open the InstallSettings.ini file.
5.Change the ‘UseUserProfiles’ to 1 from 0.
6.Close the file and restart 3ds Max or Max Design.
7.Unhide folder “AppData”
8.Navigate to: C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalAutodesk3dsMaxDesign(Version of 3ds Max or Max Design)
9.Verify ENU folder is present.
Done, good luck!

I think you are talking about my scripts?
Try going up to the top area of 3DS Max, go to MaxScript -> Run, then find the mzp and see if that works.

im getting this error;

Hey, I’ve searched around and found no answer to this question so I thought I’d post some more detail about the problem I’m having with TurboTools v 2.8 and see if what you’re experiencing is similar to me.
I’m currently running 3ds Max 2013 64-bit. When I first attempted to install I had the error as described above in RJBonner’s post. This error stopped when I changed privileges as described in the image included with the download.
However, a new error appeared which I have included below;
—Runtime error: Copy error on file: C:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max
2013scriptsturboToolsIconsArrow_Down.bmpUnfortunately, nothing I can do fixes this, I have tried dragging and dropping the .mzp directly into the viewport and running the MaxScript file using the method posted by mLichy. I have also tried running 3ds Max as Adminitrator, no luck there either.
Any ideas?

If you have UAC enabled it will block some .mzp files from installing. Normally you would get a «do you want to give this program permission» pop up but with max it just outright blocks the action.
Most people get so annoyed with User Account Controls that they turn it off.

Ah, fair enough. Thanks Mark, that solution worked and installation ran smoothly! Cheers for quick response

Hi,it´s ok, I know now how to install the script
Script generates the request
Script generates the request code at the moment when you run it first time, not at the moment after or during installation, so it doesn’t matter how you installed it — by copying folders or by drag-and-droping.
Hi 1acc, I finally install it
Hi 1acc,
I finally install it properly in 3ds max 2010 64bits. I had to run 3ds max with «solve compatibilities problems» wish is a feature of windows 7 and then one of the alternatives was to run it as administrator , whish is what I did before only this time worked, but again the drag and drop thing didn´t work (the no circle again appeard) , this time MAXscript/run Script worked then I went to customize/categories and there was it , scriptattack category . now the button has the BonyFace Logo/icon wish it didnt appear when I copy and paste the folder and script from 3ds max 2080. well I already have the script installed not the way it was supposed to be but better than the copy and paste thing.
Kind regards,
wicq
Hi, hey man I just installed
Hi, hey man I just installed wrapit 1.01 but when I tried to install it on 3ds max 2010 64bits it asked me to run 3ds max as an administrator so this way it allows me to register the script,by the way Im using windows 7 64 bits, then I thought maybe that´s the problem with bonyface too. Well I run 3ds max 2010 64 bits as an administrator and it worked for wrapit so then I continue with bonyface and guess what, It doesnt even let me drop it on the viewport . when I drag the script and then I tried to drop it, it shows a NO CIRCLE symbol, you now that circle with a line thru it. I think there is something wrong with the installation process. I can make it work by copy the folder and script from 3d max 2008 32bits(the only version of Max where the installation process works) but I think that is not the proper way to do it. When I talked to you about the request file generated from the script to ask for the key for registration you told me: «About requests. Script generates it automatically» , but How the script will genereate the request file if I can´t install it on 3ds max 2010 64bits? and I dont want to buy the script to install it on 3ds max 2008 32bits so this way I can copy and paste the files from 3d max 2008 32bits to 3ds max 2010 64 bits because I think the request file is generated from the version where the script was installed in the proper way so the key you will send will only work on the version where the script was installed and not on a Max version where the script was copied and pasted. So maybe you can help me out with this issue. Remember I already test the Installation process (drag and drop and MAX script/run script) on 3ds max 2008, 2010 and 2011 both 32 and 64 bits and it only worked on 3ds max 2008 32bits.
Best Regards,
Wicq
well I tried to installed
well I tried to installed relinkbitmap and doesn´t work either. drag and Drop doesnt work and when I run the script it pops up a window that says:
—Compile error : Unable to create copy/move destination directory: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/eds max 2010/scripts/Relink Bitmaps
— In line : name «Relink Bitmaps on your system»
version 2
copy «C_Lib.mse» to «$script/RE
— In file: mzp.run in package C:/users/ivan cueto/Downloads/Relink_Bitmap_v2.02.mzp
Im using windows 7 64 bits, but bonyface installation works fine on 3ds max 2008 32bits.
Well, i think your problem in
Well, i think your problem in OS (like read-only for system folder, dunno), check that. Also you can try to install other such scripts, for example RelinkBitmaps (you can find it here at scriptspot) is has same installation process, may be i missed smth in my algorithm.
About requests. Script generates it automatically, and uses another algorithm to create request file. In all cases i shall help you to get complete version workable on your system, so don’t worry. If you pay — it will work.
Hi 1acc, well although I can
Hi 1acc,
well although I can make work BonyFace in 3ds max 2010 64bits and 3dsmax 2011 64bits by doing the copy and paste thing from 3ds max 2008 32 bits(copying the BonyFace folder and the .mcr script to 3d max 2010 or 2011/ui/macroscript) the installation(drag and drop or Mascript/run script) only works on 3ds max 2008 32 bits.
I installed 3ds max 2008, 3ds max 2010, 3ds max 2011 32BITS and the installation only worked , as I said before, on 3ds max 2008 32BITS.
then, I installed 3ds max 2008, 3ds max 2010 and 3ds max 2011 64BITS and the installation process(drag and drop or MAXscript/run script) didn´t worked in any of the 64Bits versions. In brief the installation process only works with 3dsmax 2008 32bits. Im telling you this not to bother you except because Im interesting in buying the complete version, and since I know that the registration process requires first the installation of BonyFace in 3d max( in my case 3d max 2010 64 bits) to then create a request key. so how would I create a request key from 3ds max 2010 64 bits if I can even install it?. please help.
best regards,

Compile error unable to create copy move destination directory
Hi Friends,
Seems like i have a small, tiny bug when using the newest version AHK 1.1.23.01.
In the beginning it refused to compile my script if i did not change the compression to normal.
Now it absolutely refuses to compile any script, therefore i had to uninstall the new version to go back to the previous one.
Any suggestion what is wrong ? I use a Desk Top with Windows XP, Service Pack 3
Thanks a lot in advance,
Swannie
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
Are you also using v1.1.23.01 of the Ahk2Exe compiler?
When you say compression, are you referring to the MPRESS option?
Please post the text of the error so that we can help.
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
I downloaded the new compiler ( But why on earth it`s all of a sudden so complicated i wouldn`t know) I don`t have a clue where to put all the stuff once i unzipped it.
This is the error messages i get: «Error: Could not copy final compiled binary file to destination.»
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
Make sure you have the bin files present in the Compiler directory along with your Ahk2Exe.exe file:
AutoHotkeySC.bin
ANSI 32-bit.bin
Unicode 32-bit.bin
Unicode 64-bit.bin

Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
After TheDewd answered me, I made sure of what he suggested, Yet I tried NUMEROUS times since then, but I simply cannot get AutoHotkey to work !!
Still get the same message : » Error: Could not copy final compiled binary file to destination.»
Please, please , will somebody tell me how I can rectify this problem in order for AHK to work .
I use Windows 10 with AHK 32bit.

Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
Is this a personal or a work machine? ie do you have full control of it? This issue sounds like the kind of thing that would happen as a result of the system being locked down — I have similar issues with compiling scripts on my work PC.
Try disabling UAC.

Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
«1.23.01: ahk2exe: fixed unicode in compiled scripts»
not sure what that means
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
It was never my intention to sound like I am disrespectful towards you in my post. I apologize if I came across wrongly.
What I can`t understand is, I use AHK for about 7 years now and only from version 1.22 and up did I experience problems compiling my scripts. Never before. I can understand if Windows 10 is not really compatible or if there are some difficulties, but I use my Desktop with XP for a number of years now, and even there I cannot compile my scripts.
Something must have changed and I can`t figure out what.
Please Lexikos, only you have the knowledge and brains to figure out what changed
Re: A small, tiny little bug when using AHK v1.1.23.01
Can confirm this is probably not a bug, but most likely a Windows permissions issue.
Ensure that you are compiling to a location that you have permission to freely create files in (Documents folder, not C: or Program Files or anywhere protected by UAC).
On my standard user at work, I cannot compile to a protected location on the harddrive, but I can compile to a thumb drive or the Documents folder.
My admin account can compile to anywhere I want.
Also, check that the permissions on the AHK executables didn’t get messed up by something. Your user should have read & execute permissions on them to be allowed to copy to a new location as part of the compile process.

I’m trying to clone a Git repo using PyCharm, but it gives me this error event:
Clone
Unable to create destination directory.
The repo is being hosted on GitHub and clones to my C drive fine. But when I try to clone to a mapped network drive it gives me the error. I’ve tried running as admin and have done the regedit to allow elevated programs to view mapped network drives but haven’t had any joy.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Edit: My method for cloning is using the «Get from version control» on the PyCharm Welcome screen. It doesn’t show an error message, it just flags an event on the welcome screen with the error message above.
Edit2: So I ran PyCharm from a cmd and have managed to get more detail on the error. This is the error message:
2020-04-30 18:40:56,561 [ 41878] ERROR - dea.ui.GitCloneDialogComponent - Unable to create destination directory
Details: Couldn't create destination directory<br/>Check your access rights
I can create files/folders in the specified location so I’m not sure how else I can alter permissions.
