A few days ago I decided to start fresh. I completely re-installed Skyrim and deleted all the mods from mod organizer so that I could download them again thus making sure I had untouched copies of the mod files (no cleaning, optimization, etc). The only one I didn’t touch was 3DNPC because screw downloading that again. lol
Anyway, all was well until I started re-downloading the larger files such as SMIM and more recently Immersive Armors. Then I started getting CRC errors. So I started downloading the files manually rather then through Mod Organizer and I got them in WinRar too. Switched over to 7zip and still got «data errors» and it seemed like it was any large file (I also tried to download the optimized official high res textures and Serious HD 1k version). I tried everything I could think of to fix this problem and I’ve been googling the issue non-stop. I tried other servers, tried scanning for viruses. Malwarebye did come up with something called ScorpionSaver though I was able to remove it. Rescanned, no other issues. Tested my internet connection and each test came up with no dropped packets. My download speed has even been above average. Used CCleaner to remove registry files. Defragged my hard disk. Used Memtest to test my memory. Checked my hard drive for errors. Everything is coming out fine so why the hell am I having issues downloading larger files off of Nexus? I should mention that I’ve never had these issues before. This literally started happening these past few days. It’s so frustrating, I just want to play the game already! lol.

Yes I had the same issue with this when trying to download NMC’s texture pack. It’s a Cyclic Redundancy Check it’s an issue with your HDD (Doesn’t mean it’s goingg to die or anything don’t read the stuff said about it. It just means your HDD has unsorted or »bad» areas) . It maybe your browser aswell…I fixed the issue by constantly retying the download in the end it did finish. Try to find a CRC fix. Try this: http://www.wikihow.c…ncy-Check-Error it may help you.
I know the feeling it’s really annoying. Try the NMM for downloading or another web browser. If it’s after you install (rar files have this issue with CRC) see if there is a fix online. It will work in the end trust me! Waited 3 painful days for NMC’s texture packs for fallout…not too fun when you are meant to have fast fibre optic internet.
I know it’s not that helpful but I hope you have a better Idea of what it is.

Are you sure that it’s a hard drive error? I checked my hard drive for errors and it came back saying there were no errors. I did it with both the built in windows tool and the command prompt. Both said there were 0 issues. I use Mod Organizer (which I prefer to use) and Google Chrome but I did try downloading with Mod Organizer, manually and with Firefox. Same problem each way.

I would agree that it ‘sounds’ like a hard drive fault. Have you tried saving to a USB pen drive?

It’s not technically a fault it’s failure of the download which is rejected by the hard drive. But like I said before there maybe nothing wrong with your HDD at all it could be a random error like what happened with mine. There was nothing wrong with my HDD at the time. Just keep retying and retrying and try it through diffident things and saving it differently like Tamb0 said.

This isn’t really to bump an old thread or anything but after extensive research into the topic (and I mean extensive, I’ve been searching non-stop for solutions) I have found the problem… And I’m a little embarrassed to tell people my solution as it was so incredibly overlooked but I’m doing it for the sake of search engines! Because I hate when I’m researching a topic and someone comes along and says «I fixed the problem!» and then never says what they did to fix the problem. So, here it is…
Windows-friggin’-Firewall. Now I assumed that this wasn’t the problem as I tried to disable Windows Firewall before and it didn’t seem to fix the problem but then I had a brilliant idea. I decided to disable Windows Firewall BEFORE I downloaded the file. Guess what? It worked! So, I’ve narrowed the problem down to Windows Firewall! As far as what Windows Firewall is doing behind the scenes that’s causing my larger downloads to become corrupt? I haven’t exactly figured that out yet. It can’t be blocking 7zip, winrar, etc because smaller downloads work for me still AND the solution came to me only when I disabled it before downloading the file…
If I figure out the fix I’ll let you know but for now all I can recommend is try all the steps I listed in the original post if this doesn’t work for you but try disabling your firewall before you download. If that doesn’t work and your confident that the file isn’t a virus (in this case, I am) disable your antivirus. And if that fails then move onto the steps i listed that i took in my original post.

Ah yes that sounds legitimate. It could be windows firewall blocking it thinking it was something dangerous or…weird stuff :L Ha well done anyway ^_^

Why do you have Windows Firewall active anyway? Doesn’t it deactivate if you have a decent firewall installed? I have BitDefender Total Security which overrides all the Windows stuff.

Hiya folks.
I’ve been enjoying playing around with skyrim mods for a while now, and have reasoned the point of being increasingly frustrated with an unstable game, but still wanting a lot of the interesting and clever things people have come up with!
I took the leap and reinstalled everything and am trying to work through a STEP install to build a robust ‘basic’ game.
…and I have already hit a snag.
The ‘Weapons and Armor fixes’ recommened mod mentions a patch for ‘Immersive Weapons’.
I like the variety that Immersive weapons adds to the game, and would like to continue using it.
So I downloaded and added it to the mix.
…however, Mod Organizer throws up a ‘Data Error’ when I try and install it — either downloaded through nexus, or uploaded as an archive. I’ve checked the file size, and it looks very much like a complete download.
I assume at this point I’m missing something silly and obvious — but I don’t quite know what.
Any suggestions what I should be checking/doing to get Immersive Weapons to install?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
