Easy anti cheat launch error

Ошибка запуска EasyAntiCheat может возникать в самых разнообразных случаях — перед тем как начать её устранение рекомендуется отключить антивирусную защиту. Дело в том, что ЕАС часто идентифицируется антивирусами в качестве вредоносной программы.

- Проверка целостности файлов игры;
- Переустановка игры;
- Переустановка с деинсталляцией служб и сервисов Steam/Uplay.
Проверка целостности файлов
Часто ошибка запуска EasyAntiCheat возникает когда скачивание или распаковка игры были выполнены с ошибками. Встроенная в Steam проверка целостности файлов позволяет автоматически скачать недостающие файлы или заменить те, которые были записаны с ошибками.
Для исправления ошибки запуска ЕАС необходимо выполнить следующие действия:
- Остановить работу всех программ в фоне.
- Запустить Steam или Uplay.
- Открыть Библиотеку игр.
- Выбрать необходимую игру и кликнуть по её значку правой кнопкой мыши — выбираем пункт «Свойства».
- Найти и выбрать пункт «Проверить целостность файлов игры».
- После проверки целостности файлов необходимо перезагрузить компьютер.
- Запускаем Steam или Uplay от имени администратора.
Переустановка EAC
Для оффлайн-игр достаточно просто удалить ЕАС. Для переустановки EasyAntiCheat необходимо выполнить четыре действия:
- Войти в «Установку и удаление программ»;
- Найти ЕАС и удалить данное программное обеспечение;
- В Проводнике прописать путь к директории с игрой, например: Steamsteamappscommonназвание_игрыEasyAntiCheat.
- Найти файл «EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe.» и запустить его.
- Перезагрузить систему.

Переустановка с деинсталляцией служб и сервисов Steam/Uplay
В данном случае необходимо деинсталлировать Steam и другие программные библиотеки, включаю Direct X, Microsoft Visual C++. Для переустановки необходимо выполнить следующие действия:
- Произвести удаление ЕАС;
- Произвести удаление DirectX;
- Удалить Microsoft Visual C++ версий 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 и 2015;
- Заново установить удаленные компоненты учитывая разрядность системы (x86 или x64 — примечание редактора);
- Перезагрузить систему;
- Установить утилиту ЕАС согласно инструкция, указанной в подзаголовке Переустановка EAC.
В случае если ошибка запуска EasyAntiCheat продолжают появляться необходимо деинсталлировать игру и её компоненты. Также можно произвести вспомогательные действия, способствующие исправлению ошибки запуска ЕАС. О них — далее.
Вспомогательные действия
Эффективность вышеуказанных решений повысится если предварительно выполнить следующие действия:
- С помощью программ очистки и оптимизации системы необходимо высовободить память от временных файлов и устранить ошибки реестра;
- В настройках антивирусной программы добавить EAC и папки с игрой в список исключений;
- Установить/обновить/откатить драйвера для аппаратных устройств (видеокарта, материнская плата, звуковая карта — примечание редактора)
При появлении ошибки запуска EasyAntiCheat нужно также проследить за тем, чтобы все исполняемые программы запускались от имени администратора.

There are a few steam games that have non-functional or otherwise useless Linux ports, the ability to install the Windows version of a game that has a native Linux version would be incredibly useful.

I agree completely with this.
Battleblock theater’s Linux port only works on Ubuntu 14.04.x, however the Linux version works 100% on wine.
Would be great if on the game properties there was a way to override the Linux version and use the windows one.
It’s free weekend but launching it with 4.2-9 fails with the fact it cannot find /squad_launcher.exe
error since it didn’t download it. Checking files won’t help.
It fails using Native2Proton (also it still runs on 3.16 beta instead of 4.2-9)

Latest Proton (4.11-5) has Squad dropping fps, from 60-90fps, down to 15fps. It happens sort of every 20-30s, drops for about 5-10s, then gets back to normal, cycling like this through the entire game.
Reverting back to Proton 4.2-9, the issue disappears.

Hello @aly199, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
to the game’s launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.
Counter point to the above, I put in a few hours in the game today on the latest Proton (4.11-5) and it runs flawlessly, multiplayer works perfectly as well and I had no issues with the anticheat (this used to play up with Proton)
I do use these launch commands, not sure if they’ll make a difference for @aly199

Ouch, Proton logs compress well, but even in an archive there’s a good chance it’ll be larger than github is happy with.

Not that it helps with diagnosing the perf issue, but debugstr is very active with lines like

Oh, I had to do some other stuff here, and forgot to mention: I’m running Steam on a firejail, with an overlay-fs. Don’t know if it has something to do with anything, but thought I should mention it.
It probably doesn’t matter, since the game ran on Proton 4.2-9 without any hiccups, under the same circunstances.

Still not working. It worked before I reinstalled Ubuntu on this new disk (but with no other hardware changes) and I know others still have it working. I’m tempted to spin up the debugging and see what’s wrong.
Wanted to play again since the last time two weeks ago. Same problem. Game runs fine but shows a little popup with: EasyAntiCheat Error: Failed to create IGameClient instance!
The game has not updated in these two weeks and as far as I can see only proton updated in that time (I saw it shortly in my download list downloading 4.11 (or an update for it?)). Anyway, its practically borked now, cause without EAC you can not play on any of the public servers.
Update: I nearly forgot to mention, that I ran WINEPREFIX=~/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/393380/pfx/ ./EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe
which surprisingly worked and I could select «repair». Though sadly without any success.
Fresh install by Steam (without Proton) still with the empty repo.
With Proton 4.11-9 it works perfectly fine after deleting the Movies folder (Proton does not have the needed codec), except for the Easy Anti Cheat/EAC which intermitently stopped working since Alpha 16 was launched.

Distro: Linux Mint 19.2 Tina
Kernel: 5.3.0-24-generic

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz
This game is still laggy however.
Beta v18.0.5 has EAC working back, finally. But you have to run it multiple times until it does not show the EAC error.
I can sadly not confirm @BRMateus2’s results. I verified my game data, deleted the prefix to have a fresh start and I still get the EAC GameClient error even after starting it 10 times in a row. I’m open to suggestions for what else I could try…

@Byter09 What DE are you using? lxde on arch gave me a startup error but switching to lightdm got rid of the startup error.

And I just re added the easyanticheat file from repo and all good.
I reinstalled, then followed the steps and it worked for me. Had to WIPE it off fully however.
3060ti here, terrible performance at very conservative settings. ~30 FPS on latest 510 drivers
Tried reinstalling the thing from scratch as suggested, but as usual with a 1660ti I get the first round with decent fps and the second grinds to 3 fps. I’ve noticed a huge FPS degradation even when just loading maps with USMC forces in it
I think the only thing we can do is wait for the developers. They don’t seem to care however.

Sure is. I noticed that Squad now has a new EAC installer, the filename reveals they’ve updated to the EOS version of EAC.

I am having the same issue as well.
It seems to be fixed now. I deleted the EasyAntiCheat
directory located in SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/393380/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data
and started the game again. It downloaded the correct EAC version and I was able to play. Probably a permission issue on the EAC server side that got corrected.

I am guessing that the previous workaround of limiting read-write permissions to the EAC directory needs to be undone to get it to work. It seems to work now.

AFAIK only GE-Proton7 has the Squad protonfix that downloads an EAC blob and modifies directory permissions. Which version did you test with?

So now it works if you use proton experimental when launching it after you reinstall it. No idea how but I was able to play for 3 hours last night without getting kicked.

I bought a new GPU recently so I thought I’d give Squad another try.
Anyway I got an RX 6600 (8GB). Now my game freezes after the initial loading screen. I can’t close it and it keeps producing the audio of what sounds like a beach???
Alt tab, go to terminal, type in top, wait for the squad process, ctrl + c
out of top and type kill (insert pid number) to kill the squad game and
then reattempt launching.

VRAM is measured at 6359M, on the frozen loading screen….

As far as I know (not sure tough) you have to undo all the aec file permission stuff. Like a fresh install. I’ve read it’s not necessary anymore.
So with the Chinese update it’s now platinum. Meaning that if you use
proton experimental there is no need to transfer files over. It works
straight out of the box. My best recommendation is to uninstall and
reinstall the game and boot it up using proton ge experimental.

Went down a rabbit hole. My issues were IBT related (im on an 11th gen intel), so I ripped out Manjaro and went Arch. Setup the new drivers with new kernel, just finished installing squad, removed some amdvlk packages and it is working agian (with just installing).
My issue has not been resolved.
Yesterday I played Squad public testing (774941), and everything was fine, no EAC issues, and it was using VKD3D, so DX12. FSR also worked(Tho, I did not observe any performance benefit)
I just did a fresh install and as others have reported, everything just worked like on Windows.
But is there a way to get an performance overlay? Mangohud does not work for me, but it works fine with other games.
Squad won’t launch, it seems to get stuck in a loop at the logo screen.

I’m interested in troubleshooting myself, but am not sure where to go from here. Any advice or things to investigate would be greatly appreciated. If someone tells me which logs (and where they are) to post, I’ll do so.
Yeah it’s a bug. I just type top in the terminal. Look for the squad
game.exe and the pid number and then kill it. Relaunch squad and it works.
Sometimes 2 times other times it’s 4.

Somehow the FPS drop to single digit after a map change seems to have disappeared as I have tried in a single session to change maps and servers and had no degradation. Despite everything though, with my GTX1660Ti, I had to turn all settings to minimum in order to play without stuttering compared to several updates ago where I could play with medium/highish settings at decent fps rate, but my guess is that I would have the same issue under Windows. It works on most maps except the ones that came out with USMC which seem to always lag as soon as I enter the server

In reference to my earlier post, I seem to have much better luck getting Squad to launch right after a reboot. Hopefully this means something to someone else

Squad (393380)
When downloading the game ¨Squad¨ from Steam it directly finishes and trying to start the game causes en error:
¨An error occurred while updating Squad (missing executable)
{some very long path here}/squad_launcher.exe¨
When I use the inspect game folder option I can see that the folder is completely empty.

There are a few steam games that have non-functional or otherwise useless Linux ports, the ability to install the Windows version of a game that has a native Linux version would be incredibly useful.

I agree completely with this.
Battleblock theater’s Linux port only works on Ubuntu 14.04.x, however the Linux version works 100% on wine.
Would be great if on the game properties there was a way to override the Linux version and use the windows one.
It’s free weekend but launching it with 4.2-9 fails with the fact it cannot find /squad_launcher.exe
error since it didn’t download it. Checking files won’t help.
It fails using Native2Proton (also it still runs on 3.16 beta instead of 4.2-9)

Latest Proton (4.11-5) has Squad dropping fps, from 60-90fps, down to 15fps. It happens sort of every 20-30s, drops for about 5-10s, then gets back to normal, cycling like this through the entire game.
Reverting back to Proton 4.2-9, the issue disappears.

Counter point to the above, I put in a few hours in the game today on the latest Proton (4.11-5) and it runs flawlessly, multiplayer works perfectly as well and I had no issues with the anticheat (this used to play up with Proton)
I do use these launch commands, not sure if they’ll make a difference for @aly199

Oh, I had to do some other stuff here, and forgot to mention: I’m running Steam on a firejail, with an overlay-fs. Don’t know if it has something to do with anything, but thought I should mention it.
It probably doesn’t matter, since the game ran on Proton 4.2-9 without any hiccups, under the same circunstances.

Still not working. It worked before I reinstalled Ubuntu on this new disk (but with no other hardware changes) and I know others still have it working. I’m tempted to spin up the debugging and see what’s wrong.
Wanted to play again since the last time two weeks ago. Same problem. Game runs fine but shows a little popup with: EasyAntiCheat Error: Failed to create IGameClient instance!
The game has not updated in these two weeks and as far as I can see only proton updated in that time (I saw it shortly in my download list downloading 4.11 (or an update for it?)). Anyway, its practically borked now, cause without EAC you can not play on any of the public servers.
Update: I nearly forgot to mention, that I ran WINEPREFIX=~/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/393380/pfx/ ./EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe
which surprisingly worked and I could select «repair». Though sadly without any success.
Fresh install by Steam (without Proton) still with the empty repo.
With Proton 4.11-9 it works perfectly fine after deleting the Movies folder (Proton does not have the needed codec), except for the Easy Anti Cheat/EAC which intermitently stopped working since Alpha 16 was launched.

Just need to turn off EAC by following these steps:
Swap the names on the EAC_Outriders.exe and OUTRIDERS-Win64-Shipping.exe. Then launch the game. You will get an error after the start up video. Click ok, and Cheat Engine will now work like normal.

I will give it a go, but as I’ve read online theres is no Offline mode so whether or not the values are stored online or local we’ll have to wait and see.

well, looks like the values are client side ( inf. ammo / no reload works without problems )
here is my bypass: (credits to fearlessrevolution — i’ve used his method to skip the driver-load)
Replace the EAC_OUTRIDERS.exe with my one and just start the game.
you will get a error while the game loads:
EasyAntiCheat Error: Failed to create IGameClient instance!
Check that the game was run from the correct launcher.
Online Play may not be available.

As it stands it’s way too low due to level restrictions.

Welp, chose my «class» and now my game won’t load into the Main Menu
Edit: Verified the integrity of the files and tried to see if that helps but nope, game is borked.

would this inturn also make item level higher as a result? currently highest drop item can be lev 9 would this in turn drop for say a level 13 14 etc

Почему служба Easy Anti Cheat не установлена?
- EAC недостает прав администратора. Для нормальной работы программе EAC необходимо обладать правами администраторской учетной записи. Если не выдать соответствующие разрешения, программа может полностью прекратить свою работу либо работать, но с ошибками.
- Служба EAC отключена. EAC не будет выполнять возложенную на него работу, если на компьютере пользователя не работает не одноименная служба.
- Поврежденный файлы EAC. Повреждение файлов программы EAC зачастую происходят во время ее установки. Разумеется, в таком случае программа не будет работать должным образом, и пользователь не запустит нужную ему игрушку.
- EAC не установлен. Подобная проблема встречается крайне редко, но это возможно. При загрузке и установке игры что-то пошло не так, и параллельная установка EAC не прошла.
- Конфликт EAC с антивирусом/брандмауэром. Ваш антивирус или брандмауэр мог войти в конфликт с EAC, блокируя работу последнего. К сожалению, за такими «проделками» замечены даже системные средства Windows.
- Устаревшая версия Windows. Стабильная работа EAC не гарантирована, если ОС пользователя не обновлена до последней версии.
«Служба Easy Anti Cheat не установлена»: решения
Решение №1 Проверка службы EAC
Сначала проверим, правильно ли настроена на вашем ПК служба EAC. Как правило, данная служба должна автоматически запускаться одновременно с игрой, но порой этого не происходит. В некоторых случаях службу по ошибке могло деактивировать защитное ПО, например, антивирус. Так или иначе попробуйте сделать на своем ПК следующее:
- нажмите WIN+R для вызова окошка «Выполнить»;
- пропишите в пустую строку services.msc и нажмите ENTER;
- найдите в списке службу EasyAntiCheat и дважды кликните на нее ЛКМ;
- выставьте в типе запуска значение «Вручную» и сохраните изменения.
Теперь при запуске игры должна запускаться и служба EAC.
Решение №2 Восстановление файлов EAC
Если вы столкнулись с ошибкой «Служба Easy Anti Cheat не установлена», то, вероятно, некоторые из файлов EAC были повреждены или даже удалены. Это могло произойти, например, по вине пользователя или какой-то программы. К счастью, в папке игры, которая задействует функционал EAC, должен находится установщик античита, с помощью которого можно восстановить целостность последнего.
- Откройте корневую папку игры, которую вы не можете запустить, и ищите в ней папку EasyAntiCheat;
- кликните ПКМ на файл EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe и выберите «Запуск от имени администратора»;
- в новом окошке выберите нужную игру и кликните на кнопку «Починить службу»;
- подождите завершения процесса восстановления файлов EAC.
После восстановления EAC попробуйте открыть проблемную игру. Теперь, возможно, все откроется без каких-либо проблем.
Решение №3 Переустановка игры
Как мы уже говорили выше, EAC автоматически устанавливается вместе с самой игрой. Кроме того, античит автоматически и удаляется вместе с игрой. Понимаете, к чему мы клоним? Верно, чтобы решить проблему, достаточно переустановить игру на свой ПК. Вот что вам нужно сделать:
- кликните ПКМ на Пуск и выберите «Приложения и возможности»;
- найдите в списке игру, которую вам не удается запустить, и выделите ее;
- появится выбор действия — нажмите «Удалить»;
- следуйте дальнейшим инструкциям для удаления игры;
- перезагрузите компьютер и снова установите игру.
Все, готово. Переустановлена не только игра, но и EAC. Если файлы последнего были повреждены, то ошибка должна исчезнуть.
Решение №4 Обновление Windows
EAC может испытывать проблемы при работе, если на ПК пользователя не установлен ряд конкретных обновлений Windows. Верно, большинство из нас предпочитают игнорировать/отключать регулярные апдейты ОС, однако некоторые из них очень важны, и требуются для нормальной работы определенного ПО. Как бы не хотелось этого делать, но мы рекомендуем установить все отложенные обновления Windows.
Делается это следующим образом:
- кликните ПКМ на Пуск и выберите пункт «Параметры»;
- в параметрах системы перейдите в раздел «Обновление и безопасность», потом — в подраздел «Центр обновления Windows»;
- нажмите на кнопку «Проверка наличия обновлений»;
- дождитесь окончания установки обновлений.
Во время обновления Windows ваш ПК будет периодически перезагружаться — это нормально.
Решение №5 Деактивация антивируса и внесение EAC в список исключений брандмауэра
Периодически антивирусы могут препятствовать работе EAC. Делают это, к сожалению, не только сторонние программы, но и системные средства. Чтобы отключить активную защиту антивируса Windows, нужно сделать следующее:
- нажмите комбинацию WIN+S для вызова поисковой строки;
- пропишите запрос «Безопасность Windows» и выберите найденный результат;
- перейдите в подраздел «Защита от вирусов и угроз» и кликните там на пункт «Управление настройками»;
- найдите опцию «Защита в режиме реального времени» и деактивируйте ее, выставив значение «Откл.».
Понятное дело, с отключение стороннего антивируса вам придется разбираться самостоятельно. Активную защиту многих антивирусов можно отключить через значок в трее панели задач.
Также рекомендуется внести EAC в список исключений брандмауэра. В системном варианте ПО это делается следующим образом:
- откройте «Параметры» и перейдите в раздел «Конфиденциальность и защита»;
- выберите подраздел «Брандмауэр и безопасность сети»;
- кликните на пункт «Разрешить работу с приложением через брандмауэр»;
- в новом окошке найдите (или добавьте при необходимости) EasyAntiCheat;
- поставьте рядом с программой галочки возле «Частных» и «Публичных» сетей;
- сохраните изменения и закройте окна.
После деактивации антивируса и выдачи разрешения в брандмауэре запустите проблемную игру и проверьте наличие «Служба Easy Anti Cheat не установлена».
