I solve this issue by implementing onShouldStartLoadWithRequest . the error occur when the webView try to open a wrong url. we can intercept the request before it happen.

note: webview working fine on SDK 35 and expo client 2.13 only, 2.14 will shows String resource ID #0x2040003 on real device.

Steps to Reproduce

1. expo upgrade
2. change WebView from ‘react-native’ to ‘react-native-WebView’
3. yarn start
4. enter Webview Page, error happen

It should render a webview page.

Actual Behavior

On my android simulator(nox), which is android V5.1.1500190725, it will shows
net::ERR_CACHE_MISS.
I found this open issue on react-native-webview,
react-native-webview/react-native-webview#1101
and still waiting reply.
Then I tried to run on my real device, the error becomes String resource ID #0x2040003

After I search the 0x2040003 error on google, it seems like this is a common issue on android V5.1.1 with context, however for some reasons, I have to use V5.1.1.

I downgrade my sdk to 35, and it shows same error, until I reinstall expo client 2.13, WebView works fine.

I built my project in another computer and it works just fine. I still have this issue in my computer. It was working fine and one day ti started throwing this error. My android setup must be corrupted or something.

Thanks for posting this! It looks like you may not be using the latest version of React Native, v0.53.0, released on January 2018. Can you make sure this issue can still be reproduced in the latest version?

I am going to close this, but please feel free to open a new issue if you are able to confirm that this is still a problem in v0.53.0 or newer.

Faced this issue when my laptop was connected to wifi and was using Emulator. Check whether emulator can assess DNS server ( use chrome and open google.com, if it works then emulator has assess to DNS server).

So it is request to the developers of this library kindly pls fix this issues ASAP as it is working with ios completely fine but not working with android 10 9 . i have check it on emulator and real device.

Method 7: Uninstalling VPN application (if applicable)

As several users have reported, the “Origin Encountered an Issue Loading this Page” error can also occur if you’re using a VPN client that is not agreed by Origin. In this case, you will be able to resolve the issue by taking the steps appropriated to uninstalling the VPN application & restarting your computer.

This procedure will end up refreshing the Origin connection and eliminate the problem if it was previously caused by a VPN application. Here’s a quick guide on how to do this:

1. Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Then, type “appwiz.cpl” and press Enter to open up the Programs and Features screen.
