Experts ,
I have a situation where we need to uninstall SQL Server 2005 instance from a 2 node cluster .It fails because during the uninstall it creates RBF (Rollback file) files on G drive . Now G drive has a few mount points and only 500MB for itself .Out of 500MB
483 MB is empty .I was looking for a way to tell the setup to not create these files on G drive and instead on some other drive .
Is there a way to Do that ..I know that when we install the hotfix through command prompt we give /x <path> and it creates the temp folder there .But here /x option is for uninstall .
Many thanks
Regards

Usually these files are located on the root directory of the system drive. Is the operating system installed on G drive?
Please try extracting the MSI to a different location using the below command
msiexec /a [msipath] /qb TARGETDIR=[newlocation]
Then run the .msi from the newly extracted folder. Check if this helps.

Hello
I’m in a spot of bother.
I’ve recently moved from a Windows PC to an iMac on which I installed Parallels, Windows 8.1 and Office 2010.
Outlook started crashing so I did an Office repair and it seemed to help, I think.
Later Excel developed problems so I tried to do a Repair again and during the process got this error message:
Error 1307
There is not enough disk space to install
C:Program Files (x86) Microsoft Office Office 14 PPCore.DLL
Free up more disk space or etc etc……..I don’t know how to do this.
Can someone please advise how to fix this?
I searched on the net but couldn’t find a solution for the latest Parallels that I could understand.
Although I’ve been computing for 20 years I am very new to Parallels and Macs.
I’ve put the process on hold for fear of not knowing what damage I may cause to my Office installation which I desperately cannot afford to lose.
Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
-
Well, the obvious question is, how much free disk space is Windows reporting?
-
Hello and thank you for your reply.
After leaving the Windows Virtual Machine effectively stalled showing the 107 error for quite a while another dialogue popped up on top and now Windows says «0 bytes free of 63.6 GB».
The iMac has a 1TB hard drive.
-
So there’s your answer, you don’t have free space on the VM disk, you can free up space like you would do on Windows normally.
And/or increase the VM disk size: http://kb.parallels.com/en/113972

Thankyou for you help. I will pursue that link and see how I go.
-
Thankyou for your advice.
In the end I did not need to do this (yet?) because I found the cause of conflicts in Excel was Nokia Suite so I took the latter off.
However your information will be handy should the need arise.

I think that is good to have that here.

Windows Installer errors have an error code of 1000 or greater. The error codes numbered 1000 to 1999 are ship
errors and must be authored into the Error table. The error
codes numbered greater than 2000 are internal errors and do not have authored strings, but these can occur if the
installation package has been incorrectly authored. For a list of reserved error codes, see
Error table.
Note If you are a user experiencing difficulty with your computer either during or after installing or
uninstalling an application, you should contact customer support for the software you are trying to install or
remove. If you feel you are in need of support for a Microsoft product, please go to our technical support site
at support.microsoft.com.
Note You can search for solutions to many of the messages in the following table in the Microsoft Support
Knowledge Base (KB). Go to the
Search the Support Knowledge Base
page and use the tool provided there to perform a search for a specific Windows Installer error message. Select
«Search Product: All Products» to perform a comprehensive search for the message. In the «For:» pane, enter a
character string like the following, with quotes enclosing the words Windows Installer, the appropriate
Message Code value from the following table, and the keyword
«kberrmsg».
Note If you are viewing this documentation using the online MSDN library, you can also check the
Community Content
area at the bottom of this page to see whether any solutions for specific error messages have been
contributed.
Developers of installation packages can also test the internal consistency of their packages by using Internal
Consistency Evaluators. For more information, see
Internal Consistency Evaluators — ICEs.
