Backstory

Much like Classic!404; Staff!404, or better known as William, Lived in the AU of Alphatale along side his brother, Adam, and stepbrothers, Jacob and Ares. Due to all of the torment Jacob, now Infected, had ravaged the AU of Alphatale slaughtering everyone in the process. William and Adam confronted Jacob only for Adam to die and William to become enraged, shoving him and his new enemy through a portal. William defeated his step brother and retreated into the depths of the Anti-void.

Staff!404’s story stays about the same as classic’s afterwards, going through most of the events of the original Alphatale chapters. There are very few differences, but these differences are quite big. Staff!404 has never met the conduits, nor Brimm. Staff!404 has never gotten his friends or family back either during the entirety of his journey through the Undertale Multiverse. Staff!404’s story also takes place through the original chapters (1-7) of Alphatale.

Because Staff!404’s story isn’t that different from Classic 404’s story, aside from the differences above, most of it stays the same. Although, The White Demon and its few chapters go into more detail on the journeys he has gone on within his old Eden Orb

Personality

Staff!404 is one of if not the closest version to 404 with only a few changes in story in his original Eden Orb before being transferred to Staffverse.

Staff!404, much like Classic!Error!404, retains most of his personality traits. Staff!404 is a cold yet deceptive monster, always staying in control of the situation no matter what. 404 seems to have many regrets including, leaving behind Error in his own multiverse. though not showing his sadness of the situation. 404 can be very intimidating to almost everyone in Staffverse, mostly turning his sadness into sternness.

Staff!404 over the course of the series has grown more into William than his classic rendition. 404 has almost everything he’d ever want in life, his friends, family, a safe home. He feels like his life has turned out for the best, though this is not the case. Though 404 is seemingly happy in his current position, it doesn’t mean he wont turn on you if it benefits him and his family.

Relationships

Alpha!Chara: before the events of the destruction of alphatale, William and chara were planning to get married. due to the destruction they could not, but once reunited from separate multiverse’s they planned to get married, and even to have a child. one of the best endings for the couple.

Alpha!Sans: when Alpha first appeared in the Staffverse, 404 couldn’t believe his eyes. Alpha, and 404 spent some time together with their family growing their bond closer, and 404’s promise to himself to keep everyone safe no matter what.

Astral Mother: Though 404 still despises his mother no matter the multiverse, after spending time with her, and his father and brother 404 somewhat enjoyed her company even if it was for a day.

Alpha!Riverperson: 404’s father who had finally shown up, left 404 with many questions to his where abouts as he has not seen his father since the incident. But nevertheless 404 was happy to spend time with him and the rest of his family.

Exalted!William: Staff!404 and Exalted seem to have a complicated relationship. The two are seemingly estranged but have moments of levity. Staff!404 respects Exalted but also is disgusted by their actions of controlling everyone in their Alphatale though understands his reasons

404 dawns a dark blue coat, with The runes of Eden wrapping around the arms of the coat. he as well wears a white turtleneck and pants with blue lines running down the clothing, on top of this he wears blue slippers with the circles on the coat that are the same lines on the fur

Powers and Abilities

Blue Mastery

The most powerful form of the Blue attack, 404 can move any object, alive or dead, from a distance of 450m. he can also use this in tangent with his mind manipulation for easier restraint.

Mind manipulation

404 can use his Mind Manipulation to alter the effected ones mind and distort or warp to make them believe things, such as being forced to serve 404

Great knowledge

404 has knowledge of the multiverse due to being in it for so long, though in staffverse almost all his knowledge of the multiverse is put to waste, but he is still very smart and cunning.

Dark Blasters

Powerful Blasters designed by The Astral Mother these blasters are able to destroy almost anything that it is fired at.

God Ray

The god ray is a ball of energy that 404 can create from his finger-tips, once fired it will kill anything that has god-like code or unordinary code from a normal AU character

God ray first shot

The first shot of the God ray will always paralyze the target if hit, and will forever keep them in their position until the second shot is fired.

God Ray second shot

The second shot of the god ray will instantly kill the opponent upon physical contact, though it does take its time getting to the target, only traveling slowly.

Resurrection

Though not a power, 404 and every other staffverse character can resurrect due to the Mansions core. because of this no one in staffverse can die, though they do still have fights.

Mainframe calling

Mainframe calling, allows 404 to summon the mainframe to wherever he is at in the Staffverse reality ONLY as it cannot be used anywhere else other than staffverse. this ability is used for a quick B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y. transformation access without having to get severally damaged or put into distress. This ability only lasts for as long as 404 needs it and when he doesnt anymore the mainframe will take its power back, killing 404. though due to the Mansions Core, he would just be revived like everyone else.

The Mainframe’s Finale

An ability that 404 had been granted upon by Loading for the need of protecting the Cores. If 404 finds himself under an extreme amount of stress (this of course being nothing compared to the amount of stress required to trigger Butterfly), 404 can open a portal of sorts, this portal leading directly to the Mainframe itself. Whatever Universe 404 is currently dormant within, said Universe will then become one with the Mainframe, this giving 404 very limited, yet still immensely powerful authority and power. In a sense, 404 has a form of Ultipotence, the limitation to this being that 404’s power and authority only reside within the new addition to the Mainframe. This ability enhances all of the abilities that 404 already has, furthermore, 404 can trigger the ability itself. 404 will elevate himself up into the air, both of his arms will be extended outwards, here, two pure white orbs will appear in his palms. Once these orbs have materialized, they’ll begin to shoot hundreds, if not thousands of projectiles at anyone he desires. Once the rain of projectiles had stopped, 404 can cast giant spheres that are manifested purely from Mainframe code, this code being highly dangerous to entities that are heavily code based. Each sphere is about the size of a large building and can inflict large amounts of damage. Finally, 404, using all of the current magic within his vessel, along with tapping into the presumably infinite power of the Mainframe, 404 can cast large rays from his fingertips, these rays are similar to that of the God Ray, however it’s far more powerful, as they’re capable of melting through almost anything or anyone that’s within the Mainframe.

Drawbacks to Mainframe’s Finale

The drawback to this ability is that 404 can’t sustain this Mainframe-like Universe for very long, as it applies far more strain onto his soul than what’s considered healthy, even for someone such as 404. At most it can be sustained for 10 minutes. Another thing to note is that 404 will be able to manipulate and alter the Universe that had become one with the Mainframe however he pleases, though all the damage that 404 does within this “Mainframe Reality” is immediately reversed once 404’s finished with the Mainframe’s Finale.

Transformations

B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y.

The Butterfly Transformation is a powerful transformation, possibly the most powerful in staffverse. This transformation is only attainable to 404 only. The Transformation is activated when 404 is close to death or in moments of massive distress and the Mainframe reacts to this as if it’s death itself. The Mainframe than proceeds to direct all of its energy and code to 404 and then he becomes the Mainframe itself for along as it is in danger. this major power boost allows 404 to destroy anything in his path and gives him full control of Staffverse and the Cores itself. This form is strong and godlike in almost every way possible.

Due to the cores only residing in Staffverse, his power over the reality can ONLY be used within staffverse. If 404 left staffverse as butterfly he would slowly loose his god-like abilities aside from having normal butterfly’s attacks.

Instantaneous Speed

Using his huge wings, Butterfly can fly at high speeds that to many almost seems like teleportation.

Ultranova blast

The wings on Butterfly work as lasers and can send large beams of plasma shooting out of them that can cut through almost anything like butter.

B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y. Core abilities

The Cores of Staffverse are made from pure Mainframe code, this means when 404 goes into his transformation B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y. he gains the abilities of all six Cores; Reality, Space, time, files, rooms, and Undying. Without the Cores Error404 will not be able to use any of these abilities. Using these abilities are taxing on 404 as he’ll slowly get weaker over time and is only able to use one core at a time. If he were using the reality cores abilities he wouldn’t be able to use any other core abilities.

STAFFVERSE REALITY (Reality core)

The mainframe, like the cores, is an aspect of the Staffverse Eden Orb in which it keeps the cores in check. Due to its command over the cores, instead of AU’s, if 404 were to truly understand how to tap into this power, he could control the reality of Staffverse, altering reality and the people within. of course this only works INSIDE Staffverse’s Eden Orb. If 404 were able to tap into this power, he could bend reality to his will, rewriting the world around him. However, when Butterfly is reverting back to normal 404, everything that he had rewritten within Staffverse will slowly revert back to normal as well.

Staffverse’s Door (All cores)

Butterfly is able to conjure up the Staffverse door (the door that ties between any Eden Orb and Staffverse allowing whoever he wants within Staffverse, and can even leave to go into any other Eden Orb he desires. This ability is kept even after he leaves Staffverse, just in case he needs a way back in.

Time control (Time core)

Using the power of the Time Core, 404 can control the very fabric of time and space, slowing, stopping, rewinding, and fast forwarding time itself. He is freely able to move within any of the periods of time he chooses.

Spacial control (Space core)

With the power granted from the Space core, B!404 is capable of controlling space itself. 404 is able to distort, and manipulate the fabric of space being able to create blackholes and small pocket dimensions.

Resurrection control (Undying core)

The Undying core allows anyone within Staffverse to be resurrected almost immediately after they die. Butterfly!404 is capable of controlling who can get resurrected within Staffverse. an example would be; if Alpha died, B!404 could simply allow him to be resurrected. if Infected died, B!404 would be able to keep him dead for as long as he is in his Butterfly form.

There is one downside to this transformation, once it’s finished defending itself the Mainframe will take back All of its code with it. This means that once 404’s fight is over, he will die instantly. though this isnt a problem, atleast within staffverse, he will simply respawn, unless he were outside staffverse in which he would die, and most likely not return.

Just!404

Just!404 is the manifestation of Malware, who has implanted himself into 404, using him as a vessel. Just!404’s clear intentions are destructive cause Just!404 is nothing, but a ruthless mindless, Soulless and Codeless entity. Showing a brutal and heavily violent response to everything showing zero mercy and could even attack people 404 normally cares about.

Many attacks 404 had are now buffed, and are way more powerful than ever before. Just!404 is a crazed mindset as its without fear or a mind to break Just!404 is very capable of going up against TransVoid like entities with little issue no doubt able to overpower quite a good number of them.

Staffverse Just!404 is much similar to his original counterpart, however the design is completely different. Just!404 retains a few of his classic abilities along with new ones. Due to being a mindset, rather than a transformation, Staff!just404 is able to use any forms 404 could.

God eyes

Justt!404, much like Classic!just404, is able to create a version of the God ray yet very much more dangerous, these beams shoot out of Just.404’s eyes and can track and follow Just.404’s targets anywhere so long as he can see them, once they hit the target both soul and the code of the individual are destroyed and erased completely.

Eyes of Belial

Like Classic Just!404, Gazing into Staff!Just404’s eyes for at least 5 seconds would send the most sane of people into a deep, deep fear that they could be paralyzed by the very sight itself. It would even disturb the likes of Infected.

No soul all code

Just!404 is able to sprout tendrils from anywhere on his body, these tendrils black in color, blue veins are seen on them with coding running throughout each tentacle. These tendrils are able to completely take over the soul, code and mind of anyone it touches, allowing Just!404 to command them like a puppet, while hes the mastermind. this mind control can last as long as Just!404 wants so long as he is in control and conscious

Decaying Aura

J.404 has a passive ability where the world around him will start to decay until life cannot thrive. The decay starts from Just.404 himself, spreading infinitely at a steady rate until all life is dead. The ability stops when J.404 is unconscious or gone.

BACKSTORY:[]

In their AU Alphatale, Error404 used to work with his brother, Alpha!Sans. They both donned jackets with numbers in their AU so that people could distinguish who was Alpha!Tale Sans and who was Error404. Alpha wore a number 2 jacket, whereas Error404 wore a number 1 jacket. Every day, they assisted others in their community who required assistance. However, one day, an unknown Sans entered their realm and began killing numerous people. He was known as Mix!Sans, although he was best known as Infected. He came to look for more LV (Level of Violence). Infected fought a terrible battle that Error404 and Alpha had to put an end to. They battled and fought until they reached a stalemate. They regained their breath, however Infected killed Alpha!Sans before they could react. While staring at his brother’s dust, Error404 wept and lamented his brother’s death. Infected glowed with pride and joy. Error404, filled with rage and sorrow, tore open a gap in reality with his bare hands before Infected could act, and committed a mistake that would haunt him for the rest of his life. He chose to transport himself and the Infected into the Anti-Void, which was uninhabitable at the moment.

Error404 unintentionally starting hacking the Anti-Void when him and Infected got transported to the Anti-Void. After that, he tried to rip apart his own head making it look like he was crying strange black ooze. He then took some Anti-Void code and used it as wires to eradicate Infected. Only because he hacked the Anti-Void was this achievable. It granted him everlasting life and great endurance. This provided Error404 with the perfect level of power to destroy Infected. Error404 would grab infected crush them to dust and spread it onto the floor of the Anti-Void he then began to suffer an severe mental breakdown.

He had triumphed in war, but at what cost? He’d turned into a malevolent monster, gone mad, and lost his brother. Error404 concealed in the Mainframe/Outer Wall, a section of the Anti-Void that only he had access to. It is a location from which he can observe all activities in and out of the Anti-Void. He’s stayed there ever since, never interacting with other AUs, slowly driving himself insane in sorrow in his seclusion.

404 dresses in a long blue coat with blue sashes on each arm with the number 4. He also wears a white shirt, white pants, and black socks. The white fur on his coat, like the rest of his attire, is now white with blue stripes. 404’s bone colour palette consists primarily of white, blue, and black. 404’s right arm is totally black, but his left arm is normal with his typical colour palette.

Mystery Man:[]

Error!404 had spent a significant amount of time on the Mainframe conversing with a single entity. This was Osiris, essentially his trauma monster come to life. Eventually, Osiris told Error!404 about a peculiar man known as ‘The Man of Mysteries.’ This entity was said to be a real being born from the emptiness! Although Osiris was mistaken, all he knew was that he came from the Void.

Error!Sans:[]

404 has formed an odd relationship with Error, although his motives have not been tainted by his job as Error’s mentor. The two have had their fair share of squabbles, but in the end, despite their dislike for one another, they wind up having each other’s backs when it matters most.

King Multiverse:[]

404 created King Multiverse as a cover-up and uses him as a pawn. King Multiverse has a great deal of resentment for 404, although the two have had their fair share of disagreements. The two have a passive-aggressive relationship.

Alpha!Chara:[]

Alpha and 404! Chara had a really serious relationship in the past. They met one day in Hotland, had some ice cream, and kept growing closer from there. They’ve been together for nearly four years, and we’re considering making them official until the siren goes off. 404 has never forgotten Chara and refuses to date or become romantically involved with anybody else since he only has eyes for Chara.

Ink!Sans:[]

404 was once going to choose Ink over Error! Sans, but he now just regards him as a hindrance. 404, although being a fantastic vessel and killing and functioning machine, he cannot risk Ink because to his unpredictability.

Abyss and 404 have had numerous fights, and while Abyss has always managed to escape with his life, it may be tough to keep everything together with 404 stalking his back and tampering with the Abyss.

CORE!Frisk[]

404 finds Core!Frisk very intriguing. Though their previous introduction didn’t go well, after 404 presented himself in person, he and Core got along nicely. He kept his reasons and goals hidden from Core. Core and 404 became close, but not too close that 404 became too connected to them.

Alpha!Sans[]

404 adores his brother, despite their differences. 404 is still grieving over Alpha and refuses to accept that he is a ghost. Alpha was killed by Infected, he ended up fighting Infected in the Mainframe. Alpha’s death has left 404 psychologically scared.

Personality:[]

Error404 is a depressed and insane individual who doesn’t normally interact with anyone on a personal level. He tends to be dead serious about his job, and is extremely patient. It’s hard to get under his skin, and isn’t easily amused or perturbed. In his past life, however, he was a charming individual that would normally talk and co-exist peacefully with others. Now, he is focused and ‘determined’ to fix his universe, Alphatale.

Error404 prefers to show his true intentions at first, no longer having much of a reason to hide them. A master manipulator, he has developed so much to the point he can perfect a poker face. At first glance, Error404 comes off as a sociopathic experimenter, working in the background to deal with everything he considers a bother. The slightest grudge, he’ll take the most exaggerated response. A permanent solution to a temporary problem.

However, that isn’t truly Error404. Error404 retains his sadness, yet instead commonly turns it into sternness, usually being a reason for his intimidating posture. Despite his notoriety as a formal sociopath, in person he comes off as a pure brute, always dominating the situation anytime he’s present, always knowing what to say and always being the one on top. Error404 has a complete god complex, yet he truly isn’t a bad person. All he wants is a happy ending, yet he will go to desperate measures for so, even to the point of giving others a bad ending. His aspirations for regaining Alphatale are stronger than ever, and he will accomplish it.

He loves to be alone, talking to Alpha of how his day is. He doesn’t believe that Alpha is alive, yet he always pretends to personally vent his mood out, just to not lash out. Because you do NOT want to see him lashing out.

Quirks and small things:[]

404’s right arm is the one that thrust into the Mainframe, causing him to get his powers in the first place. His right arm is the most dominating, as it is the only one with which he can employ most of his abilities, such as Blue Mastery, God Ray, and summoning Dark Blasters at times.

404, like his mother, is a skilled manipulator. He employs his poker face to keep his distance from anyone he believes or knows may get to him, since he has years of experience dealing with an emotional outburst and his emotions in general.

Blue Mastery:[]

The most powerful variant of the Blue SOUL Alteration, allowing 404 to move any object, alive or dead, from a distance of 500m. He may also use this ability to completely collapse the SOUL if used on an alive being, resulting in an instant kill. He also uses this for Mind Manipulation.

Mind Manipulation:[]

404 can take complete control of others’ SOUL’s, allowing him to alter, distort and warp their mind to think various things, commonly using this method to force others into serving him.

Great Knowledge:[]

From 404’s long lasting time in the multiverse, he knows almost everything of it.

Dark Blasters:[]

Powerful Blasters designed by The Astral Mother herself, able to destroy almost anything that it is fired at. The Damage Rating was 100, yet from his advancements in the Multiverse, alongside the upgrades from the Mainframe, it now stands at 750.

God Ray:[]

Fires a blast from his fingers that will kill anything and anyone who has god-like code or unordinary code from a regular AU character.

Reincarnation:[]

This Ability is used when Error404 is either killed or takes to much damage. When he has taken to much damage or is killed he will begin to scatter his code in the ground and will then delete himself from the world. After that, the particles Error404 left behind will gather code from the world and then return to Error404’s lair and reanimate 404 from the resources they took.

Void Infliction:[]

This ability is an automatic, only caused from Error404 entering a void. Upon him entering a void that isn’t an anti-void and/or the Mainframe, the amounts of stray data in the area will begin to rapidly vibrate, rumbling and possibly even collapsing the void.

Fly:[]

404 can fly.

Unopposed Strength:[]

404 has gained immense strength from both training and from the Mainframe, allowing him to carry as much as 222,900 tons.

MFTL+ Speed — Immeasurable Speed:[]

404 has speeds so fast he can reach the center of universe in a matter of minutes to him showing feats of Immeasurable speed as shown from him standing in the absolute void a place vacant of everything.

Glitch Whip:[]

404 can form a whip-like beam of light directly from the Mainframe itself, which can reach lengths of the Empire State Building.

Fiberglass SOUL:[]

404’s SOUL is deflective against any form of attack, making his critical hits only ones that are physical.

Pixelation Manipulation:[]

404 can manipulate the very air, turning the particles into small pixels, allowing him to form things out of any physical material. He can also use this on himself as a substitute to teleportation.

Mama’s Boy:[]

404 has the ability to transform his SOUL into one of pure fear, where his colour palette goes from white to black and from blue to orange. This sets fear into any being with a SOUL.

Mission[]

Error404’s mission is to rip up worlds and use stray code to rebuild Alphatale from the ground up. He feels that the goals justify the tactics and that this is preferable for the greater good. He feels that resurrecting Alphatale would allow AUs to flourish and become better than they are now, but this will never be known because his deal with Error was to help Error wipe out the rest of the AUs once Alphatale is completed.

What happens between them after that is up in the air.

These will be labelled Controlled through Main.

Controlled = Under Error404’s constant surveillance and never released unless he says so.

They have free will, but they must do what he says and come to his side when he says so.

Main = These few Henchmen have free will but nevertheless obey what Error404 says, just like the Right Side Henchmen, but unlike them, the Main Henchmen are Error404’s closest allies and can often compel the Right Side and The Controlled Henchmen to do their bidding.

Sightings/Rumors[]

• Geno says he once saw a weird-looking skeleton walking around, but when he went to talk to it, it fled into the darkness.
• Even though it can’t talk, the Sanstrosity has seen Error404 but didn’t interact with him for fear that he may be attacked.
• Ink!Sans has claimed and told Error!Sans that he saw a figure similar to him, but Error didn’t listen and blew it off like Ink was trying to trick him.
• Undertale Frisk once told Sans that they saw another him wandering around the woods and fields of Snowdin and Waterfall.
• Rescuetale Gaster was taking pictures of wildlife when a white thing that resembled Sans came into view. Gaster was able to take a picture of the being before he vanished.
• S.T being the Judge seeks to eliminate him but he has only seen him once.
• What!Sans and Tahw!Sans has seen him, during a fight they were having.
• Hero Sans Thought He Saw A Suspicious, White Sans Walking around and gazing at him while he Was Fighting Dark!Sans
• Metroidtale Undyne barely caught a glimpse of Error 404 and tried to attack him with a swiftness type of super, homing missile, but Error 404 escaped before the missile could get to him.
• Negative!Sans told his brother once while he’s exploring Horrortale, he found another him, but white. He didn’t interact with him because he has a fear that it might attack him. He only sees him once.
• Floweytale Flowey has once claimed to have seen a strange, glitchy Sans once, he tried to take its SOUL but he found the vine he used to do so ripped out from his stem, after that he fled back to his AU.
• Inkmare once saw a Sans going around and assumed it was Error in cosplay, so he left it alone.
• Beta!Toriel once confused him for Crimson. The results weren’t pretty.
• Echo Flowey saw him wandering around the Neutral Timeline once, but he disappeared before he had time to tell anybody.
• Killer saw some strange white sans while wandering around in Horrortale but when he tried to attack, it disappeared.

Что означает ответ 404

Ошибка 404 — классический код ответа по протоколу HTTP. Он свидетельствует, что связь с сервером установлена, но данных по заданному запросу на сервере нет.

Однако если просто ввести в поисковую строку произвольный набор символов, то браузер не покажет ошибку 404 Not Found — появится сообщение, что установить соединение с конкретным сервером невозможно.

Разберёмся в техническом формировании ответа Error 404 Not Found.

Техническая сторона вопроса. При связи по HTTP браузер запрашивает указанный URL и ждёт цифрового ответа. То есть любой запрос пользователя направляется на сервер размещения искомого сайта. Что значит код «404». В ответе 404 первая четвёрка указывает на то, что запрос был чрезмерно длительным или в самом адресе была ошибка. Ноль предполагает синтаксическую неточность. Завершающая цифра кода отображает конкретную причину ошибки — «4» означает отсутствие данной ссылки.

Какие ещё ошибки бывают. Ошибку 404 не нужно путать с другими ответами, которые указывают на невозможность связи с сервером. Например, ошибка 403 сообщает, что доступ к URL ограничен, а ответ «Сервер не найден» свидетельствует, что браузер не смог обнаружить место размещения сайта.

Причины ошибки

Причины, по которым HTTP возвращает ответ 404 Not Found:

Возможные последствия для сайта

Нужно ли считать 404 ошибку опасной для сайтов? Кажется, что нет ничего плохого в том, что пользователь не смог открыть одну веб-страницу. Однако если такая ситуация будет повторяться регулярно, это чревато оттоком аудитории. Одни пользователи решат, что сайт вовсе не существует. Другие подумают, что лучше не заходить на сайт, который работает с ошибками. Третьи будут игнорировать ресурс, на котором не смогли получить обещанную информацию.

Поисковые системы относятся к Not Found более лояльно. Например, Google отмечает, что 404 страницы не влияют на рейтинг. Но если при индексации роботы будут находить все больше ошибочных страниц, вряд ли это приведёт к более высокому ранжированию.
