Камрады, такой вопрос, хочу значит обновить ME при помощи FTK (пункт 3.3 ФАКа), а мне выдаёт ошибку: Error 8772: Invalid usage, -allowsv switch required to update the same version firmware. Я так понимаю это из-за того, что у меня уже стоит последняя версия МЕ? Обновить хочу, поскольку не помню как обновлял МЕ до этого и хочу быть уверенным, что он встал без проблем, а то тут у меня БСОД завёлся непонятный. Что делать, оставить как есть или сделать полную перепрошивку региона МЕ (пункт 3.4)? |

VadlMe, параметр называется High Precision Even Timer, находится в BIOS’е, включен по умолчанию, так что хуже не будет. vitacha3, еще раз поясни, для какой платы тебе нужен BIOS и куда именно ты собираешься его шить, я просто всего не помню. Что значит «не могу перешить»? Программатор не работает? Прошитая микросхема не запускается? Опиши подробнее, что происходит. |

Error after updating Intel ME (ASRock B150M-HDS) (INTEL-SA-00086)

So I just updated my Intel ME through this webpage, using ME1 package (My motherboard ASRock B150M-HDS is not on the list).
After updating and restarting my computer, now when I run the INTEL-SA-00086 Detection Tool I get, apart from the «This system is not vulnerable. It has already been patched.» message, this one too:
«Installed Intel(R) Capability Licensing Service Client is obsolete…»
Before updating this message wasn’t there, so I don’t really know what is going on, or what «Intel(R) Capability Licensing Service Client» is. What I can do, and what does it mean?

I had this issue too, installing the newest chipset drivers fixed it. Run the tool again, if it says something about a service not running, restart the PC.

I had this issue too, installing the newest chipset drivers fixed it. Run the tool again, if it says something about a service not running, restart the PC.
I’m getting «Error 8772: Invalid usage, -allowsv switch required to update the same version firmware», the webapge says is due to the version that is already installed. Already tried restarting. Also tried adding myself the -allowsv command to the package .bat, it installed again , restarted the computer and I still get the same «installed (R) Capability Licensing…» error.
Also tried installing latest INF driver, from Motherboard page and from intel page (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-) But nothing. I still get the same error.

Dear All,
I have tried to update my PC ( GT62VR 6 RE ) with the latest BIOS E16L2IMS.117, which I could do without issues.
Then I could also update the EC 16L2EMS1.107 whithout any problems.
Now I did want to update Intel ME FW Update Tool and had an error 8716
I can launch the SetupME.exe, and I can see it is the version 11.7.0.1054, I can install it.
But as soon as I verify if the system is still vulnerable, it shows me it is since it has another version installed, which is 11.8.50.3425
Since now on my computer the version installed is more rescent ME FW Version 11.8.50.3425 is it still dangerous?
What can I do to force install the version 11.7.0.1054 from MSI website?
I tried the ME118H.bat, it does launch, makes the download and installation, then computer restart but it remains the same issue.
The FWUpdLcl64.exe is not working and send me the » Error 8716: Invalid usage «.
I don’t know what else to do.
Any help?

Sorry next3r, I am quiet a beginner in command tools 
That’s why if you could help me with the manual entries it will help me a lot.
Otherwise, indeed when I launch the .BAT I think it is the one that installed the 11.8.50.3425, but I am not sure.
As for the latest ME FW Version for my laptop on the MSI download support it should be the version 11.7.0.1054
Now even with the 11.8.50.3425 I still have vulnerable report.
Let me know if there is manipulation I can still do. Of course I don’t want to take any risks on my laptop

So, as far as I am concern the version running on my laptop 11.8.50.3425 is the latest from MSi, so it shouldn’t be a problem for me, even the detection tool is still velnerable ( as I can understadn it will still be vulnerable if I do not install the latest FW that goes with the detection tool ).
Let me know if this is ok for me to use the computer like that, without anymore manipulation (of course no need to send it to repair ) ?

use only last driver + fw from msi 11.8.50 ,,its old but tested compatible with bios
mine ends just like yours msi support ,. ,i used last fw ,,work normal
.,but I saw some problem with some boards, that after the update did not start
it’s always a risk

Ed: I got to the point where I can see the hidden advanced bios menu in IDA, it contains about 8 other submenus to setup pretty much everything from video to cpu states and so on.
I’m just not skilled enough to enable it.

I couldn’t get the bis to work because of this error: (copied from error file, at boot when I tried to flash said invalid firmware)
Error 8772: Invalid usage, -allowsv switch required to update the same version firmware
I edited the platforms.cfg file to change the «CheckVersion» value, default is 3 in my file which means 3 : When ME flash error, show error but continue to flash. Changed that to 0 «0 : Don’t check ME file version.» but after I try to flash the value is reverted back to 3.
Command value is empty so will use «-f %filename -generic -allowsv» as default command.
Not sure why still doesn’t want to flash it.
Edit: I downgraded to A06 so it won’t be the same version to flash but I still get the same error.

It could be wprking, but It’s a Capsulated Bios so cannot ReFlash as It is !
Donovan has done It a lot of time ago, so He didn’t Decapsulated Bios and use Intel FPT tool to reflash It !
Now use this tool and run It as Administrator to get a result file then upload It here and I will try to Mod for You :

open result folder and look picture and info.txt You’ll find Error 280 your Eeprom is locked Write Protect !!!
Nothing to do only SPI External Programmer with Pomona Soic Clip can do this job !
