How to Fix ‘There was an Error sending your Trade Offer Please Try again later’ on Steam?
Steam is a digital distribution platform for Video games and other related applications which was first released in 2003. It later became one of the biggest platforms for buying, selling and trading of games and game items. However, quite recently, a lot of reports have been coming in from users who are unable to trade items and the “There was an error sending your trade offer. Please try again later.” error is observed while trying to do so.
There was an error sending your trade offer. Please try again later.
This error was observed from both the client and the browser therefore, it isn’t specific to any one situation. In this article, we will discuss some of the reasons due to which it might be triggered and also provide viable solutions to fix them completely. Make sure to follow the steps carefully and accurately to avoid further escalation of the problem.
What Causes the “There was an error sending your trade offer. Please try again later.” Error?
After receiving numerous reports from multiple users, we decided to investigate the issue and devised a set of solutions to fix it completely. Also, we looked into the reasons due to which it is triggered and listed them as follows.
- Disabled Steam Guard: In some cases, the user might have the Steam Guard feature disable or they might have enabled it only recently. Trading requires the Steam Guard to be active for a profile from at least the previous 15 days. It means that if the steam guard wasn’t active for the profile from the previous 15 days, they won’t be able to trade.
- Recent Activities: If the user has recently changed their password, trading will be disabled for at least 5 days and the user will have to wait for this period before trading is enabled again. Also, if the steam account has been inactive for 2 months or more, their account will be prohibited from trading for 30 days.
- New Device: If the device on which you are using steam has been recently authorized for the steam account, trading will be disabled. The device on which the account is being used needs to be active for at least 15 days before trading is enabled for it.
- New Payment Method: If you have recently added a payment method or changed the payment method, trading will be disabled for at least 7 days. You need to wait 7 days or more as a cooldown period before you can trade again.
- Trading Ban: In some cases, steam support might have banned the user from being able to trade, this ban might either be temporary or permanent. In case of a ban, it is best to contact the support and inquire about the reason and the necessity of the ban.
- Untrusted Account: An account must also be trusted to be able to trade with other users. The account qualifies as trusted if you have purchased at least from 30 days to one year ago. Untrusted accounts are banned from trading.
- Item Availability: The item that you are trying to trade might no longer be in your inventory. The item must be available in the inventory before the trade is initiated. Bots might be unable to trade if their inventory doesn’t contain the item to be traded.
Now that you have a basic understanding of the nature of the problem, we will move on towards the solutions. Make sure to implement these in the specific order in which they are presented.

Recently, many users began to often encounter an error when exchanging on our website. They receive the following message: ‘You have a delay in exchanges. I can’t work with you’.
What can be done with such an error on your own, so as not to disturb the technical support team? We will answer these questions today!
Due to a recent update on Steam, it will no longer be possible to trade items for profiles that do not have Steam Guard enabled. And what is it?
This is one of the functions of the Steam mobile application that allows you to protect your account. The authenticator generates a code that must be entered each time you log into your Steam account. This one-time code changes every 30 seconds and is impossible to guess.
Such a security system, often referred to as ‘two-factor’, is more effective than using only a login and password.
The authenticator does not require Internet access, but your phone must be set to the correct time.
So in addition to allowing you to exchange items, you will also securely protect your account and be able to recover it faster in case of a hack!
If you have not connected the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator to your phone, then all item exchange transactions will be delayed by 15 days! As a result, in order to exchange items, you will have to wait about 2 weeks!
For this we need:
Download the Steam Guard app on your phone. It is completely free and can be found in the AppStore, GooglePlay and Microsoft Store.
Android users without access to Google Play can download version 2.3.9
from here.
After installing the application, log in to your Steam account using your credentials. Expand the main menu by clicking on the badge in the upper left corner. Select Steam Guard.
Here you can click ‘Add Authenticator’ to set it up, or ‘Help’ if you want to know more about this feature.
Next, you need to enter your phone number, if it is not already linked to the Steam account. SMS message will be sent exactly to this number. If you lose access to your account, you can get it back by requesting a message from Steam.
Enter your phone number. Select an international code from the dropdown list. Steam will send a text message with a verification code.
Enter this code to confirm that you are receiving messages from Steam. If you didn’t receive the code, click ‘Send Code Again’.
Please note that depends on your provider, messages may be delayed. If you haven’t received an SMS after a few hours, please contact Steam Support
When you enter the confirmation code, we will provide you with a recovery code. Write down this code and keep it in a safe place. Don’t skip this step!
When you add a mobile authenticator to your device, you will see a unique Steam Guard code that will be updated periodically. You will need this code each time you sign in to your Steam account.
Now, every time you log into your Steam account, you will need to enter the Steam Guard code, which you can view in the mobile application of the same name!
Unfortunately, there is another rule in Steam that cannot be bypassed in any way — this is a restriction for 15 days in the exchange, even after connecting Steam Guard.
By the way, deleting Steam Guard or turning it off and on again will also activate this restriction.
Therefore, we recommend that you address this issue RIGHT NOW! Even if you do not plan to make exchanges, enabling of two-factor protection will still benefit you!
There are other restrictions on trading and using the Steam marketplace. We recommend that you
familiarize.
Quick and profitable exchanges for you.

Is your Steam mobile app showing you an error and you can’t complete a trade? Many players are currently receiving the “There was a problem loading the confirmations page. Please try your request again later” message when they are trying to use Steam Authenticator for trade confirmation. It seems that Steam mobile confirmation is currently causing issues for many players. If you can’t confirm a trade as well, here’s what we know about the Steam mobile confirmation error.
On Wednesday, 20th of July, a number of players report that they are unable to confirm trades on Steam via their Steam mobile app. Steam mobile authentication is requested for numerous actions on Steam as a protection measure. That includes login into Steam, making purchases, and making trades on the Steam Community Market (SCM).
When players try to confirm a Steam trade or any other action on the market, they would receive an error saying, “There was a problem loading the confirmations page. Please try your request again later”. Another error they might get is “It looks like there is a problem with the time or timezone settings on your device. You will not be able to act on any confirmations until that problem is resolved.”
Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do at the moment. It seems that the issue is simply related to the Steam servers, and we will have to wait for Valve to fix the issue. However, just in case, you can perform a few steps. Sometimes, clearing the app’s cache can resolve issues in your Steam mobile app. Here’s how to do that:
- Open Settings on your mobile device.
- Scroll down to “Apps” and tap on it.
- Find Steam and tap on it.
- Select Storage and “Clear Cache”.
Make sure to only clear your Cache, but not the data, lest you’ll be logged out of your Steam account on your device. Another thing that some players report to work is disabling and re-enabling auto-time. But ultimately, likely non of these will help with the issue, as we’ve already mentioned that it is a server problem. Thus, Valve is the one that needs to fix things. We will update the article as soon as we have more information.

Steam.
