Hello veblush, thanks for your hard work with the incremental compiler. Has probably saved me hours already in wait times!

I wanted to bring to your attention a possible issue with the compiler: it doesn’t seem to play nice when creating standalone builds. In my case a typical 32-bit Windows one, but this could be an issue for all platforms.

So you know, we’re still running 4.6.9p4. Upgrading to 5.x is not an option — we have a large tech base on this version, including a significant rewrite of Unity 4’s rendering pipeline. It’s possible this issue doesn’t appear in 5.x, but I haven’t tested as such.

Basically, all you have to do is try and create a standalone build. After a second or two you’ll see this error:

Error building player because script class layout is incompatible between the editor and the player.

Restarting Unity, rebuilding the library, recompiling again, etc. has no effect. The error continues to appear.

A workaround is possible via the following steps:

  1. Go to Assets -> Open C# Compiler Settings.
  2. Change «Compiler» from «Incremental 6» to «Mono 6».
  3. Attempt to build the project, which will fail with the following error:

Internal compiler error. See the console log for more information. output was:Compiler redirection error: System.NullReferenceException
Object reference not set to an instance of an object at Program.Compile (System.String[] args, .Logger logger, .Settings settings) [0x00000] in :0
at Program.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] in :0

  1. After the build fails, go back to the compiler settings and change it back to «Incremental 6».
  2. Build the project again. This time it will succeed.

I’m not entirely sure why this works, but my theory is switching the compiler clears out the old data being held by the compile server. However, killing / restarting the server doesn’t have the same effect as the switch does, so I’m not sure if this is the case.

Steps to Repro:
1. Open attached project
2. Edit > Project Settings > Player
3. Other settings > disable auto graphics API for windows
4. Change graphics API to Vulkan

Actual Result:
1. The console is spammed with errors
2. Mesh disappears from the scene

Error:
1. Graphics.CopyTexture could not find destination D3D11 texture object. Maybe it is a RenderTexture that is not created yet?

2. Graphics.CopyTexture could not find source D3D11 texture object. Maybe it is a RenderTexture that is not created yet?

Occurring with
2018.2.0a8, 2018.2.0a3, 2018.1.0b13, 2018.1.0b5

Note that templates are available 2018.1.0b5 onwards

I encountered this problem when testing with Unity 2018.1.9f2, creating a new HDRP project directly from the latest Unity Hub. Here is how I resolved it:

1. In the Project View, navigate to the Assets/Settings folder.

2. Right click and select Create. Rendering. High Definition Render Pipeline Resources to create an HDRP resources object.

3. Back in the Project View, select the HDRenderPipelineAsset object to open its inspector.

4. Drag and drop the new resources object into the Render Pipeline Resources field in the pipeline asset.

For me, this fixed the problem while remaining in Linear color space.

I also have this issue. Changing to HDR Render Pipeline, it complains about using Gamma color space (why not have this automatically change?). Changing it to Linear causes this console spam.

I am trying to run a Unity3d project with Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. I keep getting the error:

Platform StandaloneLinux64 with graphics API OpenGLCore is not supported with HDRP.
Change the platform/device to a compatible one or remove incompatible graphics APIs.
To do this, go to Project Settings > Player > Other Settings and modify the Graphics APIs for Linux list.

I try to follow their instructions, however I do not have an Graphics API List in my Other Settings.

@Retired Ninja’s comment was correct. I am now able to change to Vulkan. However, this produces a new problem that is not related to the original one, so I shall post the new problem.

Проблема началась когда я сменил винду, установил Unity и Android studio самых последних
версий, поставил все нужные галочки в sdk, указал пути в юнети, загрузил свой проект настроил, и начал билдить выдало ошибку, потом я переустанавливал sdk и юнети, не помогало, потом сменил винду все скачал загрузил проект тож ошибка, потом решил переустановить всё и создать новый проект, тож ошибки. Лазил по форумам-юзал советы с форумов, крч нече не помогло и решил написать сюда и не только)

Ниже ещё 2 ошибки которые появляються повторно но только тогда когда консоль не очищаешь

Месяца 2 уже вожусь с этой проблемой лазил по разным форумам нечего не помогает
