I just installed VCD on Windows 7 64 bit, After the install runs fine I reboot… I try to load an ISO file and get «Error: Can’t Open VCD!»… the file shows that it’s related to VCD and everything.. the setting I have checked are Virtual Sheep, Keep History of last Mounted files, Buffered I/O…

I have had the Buffered I/O unchecked and still the same things happening.. Any help would be great thanks

Which version? You must use the latest beta for Windows 7.
It’s the latest Version of Windows 7…The VCD Drive that it makes is not under where the DVD drives are…
Oh yes i’m using the new Beta… VCD 5.4.2.3….

Also Windows says it’s install, I can click on the Icon and mess with the settings… but No Drive shows up, I only won’t 1 but tired 2 and 3 and still nothing

Did Windows ask you if you want to install the driver from Elaborate Bytes? Did you answer yes?
Yes but there is a yellow Triangle…It did one time and didn’t work, I then turn Off that user Control crap… uninstalled with your Uninstaller 2008… reset computer, then reinstalled VCD that time I don’t think it asked me…

Now that’s strange. Looks like the driver signature isn’t accepted. Please check C:WindowsSystem32ElbyCDIO.dll, right click, properties, digital signatures. Is the signature ok? If not, please check the certificate path.

EDIT: You did let Windows 7 download the available updates?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling with UAC and antivirus stuff disabled?

I’m not going to move to Windows 7 64 bit until someone releases a DirectX 11 video card, so I can’t verify whether VCD is working properly under the 64 bit edition of Windows 7.
I believe I did but will gave it another go..
Well, you might want to wait to see if James or someone else verifies that VCD works under the 64 bit edition of Windows 7.

I can only tell you that it works fine under Vista 64 bit SP1. Sorry

Cannot open VCD error with Virtual Clone Drive on Windows 7 x64

Right click Computer and choose Properties. Click Device Manager. Under Storage Controllers right click Virtual Clone Drive. Choose Uninstall. On the Uninstall dialog box check the box for ‘Delete the driver software for this device’. Click Ok.

Now reinstall Virtual Clone Drive. When prompted about the driver choose to trust it and click the Install button. After VCD installs it should work now.

I am new to Quartus II. I have created a very simple program for shift register in VHDL. It was successfully compiled. Then I used the University program VWF to create the input waveforms and saved it. When I run it, the last statement is «can not open …….filename .vcd file». However I went to the simulation subdirectory and I can open the file myself inside Quartus II environment. I have tried other files that I previously did. They are working fine. This one is not. Can someone help?

Also, is there a location in Altera where all the error listings are compiled? can someone send me that link? I could not figure it out. Thanks for your help.

I am getting this problem on another unrelated program (attached). It compiles without any error. When I simulate with a .vwf file, the program runs fine, except at the end it states:

Unable to open C:/altera_lite/Workbench/cnt8b/simulation/qsim/cnt8b.msim.vcd

Error.

I notice that the file exists in the directory. In the properties, there is nothing suspicious.

My Verilog code is stored in C:FA. There are three files:

FA.v, fa.vvp, TM_FA.v

I followed my book steps.

iverilog -o fa.vvp
vvp fa.vvp
finish
getwave fa.vcd &

When I use getwave fa.vcd & to simulate it, and then it shows:

Error opening  .vcd file 'fa.vcd'.
Why: No such file or directory

I firstly use Icarus and GTKwave, then I don’t know how to fix it.

You need to add code in your Verilog testbench to explicitly tell iverilog to create a VCD file. The iverilog documentation states:

 sudo usermod -a -G tty yourUserName

где ваш логин ваше имя пользователя

Теперь я выхожу из системы и снова вхожу в систему. И на всякий случай перезагружаю комп / ноутбук.

У меня все еще не работает, и документация Arduino больше не помогает. Так что я продолжал искать на форумах и в блогах. Если на этом этапе у вас не работает и вы похожи на меня. Следуйте следующим шагам

ls / dev / ttyACM0 возвращает / dev / ttyACM0
ls -l / dev / ttyACM0 возвращает crw-rw—- 1 root dialout 166, 0 26 ноября 16:41 / dev / ttyACM

Этим подтверждаем, что порт существует

I am using ubuntu 10.10 64bit. The problem is that no VCD’s can be played. I tried Totem, mplayer,vlc etc etc. None of the players can render the file and show either show I/O error or parse error. I even tried copying the .dat files but it shows me a permission denied error ( even in root mode file browser). Vcd’s work in Windows as well as VCD player. So neither the discs nor the drive is faulty. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

It could be that the data is corrupted. This may be deliberate; used for DRM. See if the method outlined in this answer works.

click on open cd/dvd from file menu in vlc if that cd is an vcd that can be played on cd player or perhaps change the player or get codecs for vlc

Install mplayer without gui and try running your video from terminal.I am using it for a longtime and none of the videos failed for me.

sudo aptitude -y install mplayer-nogui

To play video’s from terminal type the following,

mplayer /path/to/your/video/file

If you dont want to have mplayer,then i would recommend you to install the following codec pack

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Also i recommend you to go through this documentation for detailed instruction and troubleshooting.
