Error: Can’t read profile path
I have downloaded FS 2015 multiple times from Steam, to different locations on my drives, and continue to get the error «Can’t read profile path».
Frustrated.
Extensive web searches yield nothing of value.
There seems to be a patch for non-Steam downloads/DVD that apparently works.
I have a standard Windows 10 install.

I am the admin, tried running app as admin, tried making the «My Games» folder in Documents folder as seen on some forums.
There is no option when downloading from Steam to install as admin.
This could be a hint perhaps. I installed Steam on another PC, an HP Touchscreen i3 with one drive, and it ran okay. The machine I want it on because of the graphics card (Radion 7800 HD) is an i7 with three SSD drives. Tried installing on C:/ as well as the secondary drives, but still the error. It appears the application doesn’t recognize the intended path to the profile? Not sure if I can manually put something there?

What is the name of your user profile? (I.e. the name of the folder in C:/Users/)
How do you launch the game? Do you click «Play» within the Steam client, or you do double-click the FarmingSimulator2015.exe?

User is «i7»
I have tried the Steam start as well as the 32 and 64 bit executables.

I was curious if the demo of FS 2013 would work, so I downloaded it. Tried to run, said couldn’t write game.xml to docs folder, ran as admin, successful. Then went to FS 15, ran as admin, worked. This makes little sense, but the solution worked.

Right click the executable (.exe) file and select «Run as Administrator«, click «Yes«. Then should bring you the installation window. Click «Next«, then click «Custom» and then you can see what folder it is installing in.
It should be in this location: C:Program Files (x86)FarmingSimulator15 that what it should look like. If you have a 32-bit computer it is C:Program FilesFarmingSimulator15.

В этой статье мы разберем все ошибки при запуске Farming Simulator 2017 и возможные пути для их решения.
Ошибка Can’t Load xml file: D:/FarmingSimulator 2017/FarmingSimulator 2017.xml:
Эта ошибка означает, что папка с игрой FS 17 находится в той папке, название которой написано русскими буквами. допустим «игры». Вам следует переименовать её на games или любое другое на латинице. Если не помогло, просто переустановите игру в папку games.
Прекращена работа программы GIANTS ENGINE:
1) Обновить все драйвера. Обновить DirectX, VisualStudio C++, NET.Framework.
2) Войдите в игру и попробуйте зайти на чистую карту без использования различных модов. Если после сохранения и перезапуска она снова зависает или не запускается, читаем пункт 3.
3) вам нужно зайти в документы/My Games/Farming Simulator 2017
— в этой папке удалите папку «shader_cache» (папка появляется после каждого запуска карты)
5.Соответственно, если игра у вас запустится после удаления этой папки, то вам нужно будет перед каждым запуском игры ее удалять.
Все остальные ошибки:
Для решения остальных ошибок, следует обновить все драйвера. Скачайте и установите программу Driver Booster 2 она позволит вам скачать все драйвера для вашего ПК.
