Проблема

При установке Microsoft SQL Server 2005 появляется следующее сообщение об ошибке:

Во время выполнения мастера установки произошла непредвиденная ошибка. Обратитесь к журналу установки или нажмите кнопку «Справка» для получения дополнительных сведений.

В файл журнала SQLSetup Число_ Имя_сервера_Core(local).log при этом записывается сообщение об ошибке, приведенное ниже.

while i installing the visual studio beta 2 with sql server 2005, it get error code 1603 while installing sql server 2005. and my desktop pc installed only visual studio 2003. I have no install visual studio 2005 beta 1. and i try uninstall all visual studio s/w and jz install 2005 beta 2 but it stil get this error. I have update my desktop ,scan using MBSA and update all those necessary update.

I suggest you run this just to make sure everything is clean on your machine. To find out what components SQL Server Express is blocking on you can look at the following log file: %Program Files%Microsoft SQL Server90Setup Bootstraplogfiles*core.log. Your looking for some like the following:

Product «<71f8efbf-09af-418d-91f1-52707cdfa274>» versioned 2.0.40607 is not compatible with current builds of SQL Server.Expected at least version: 2.0.40607.42

The Product Name is «Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Beta»

Don’t worry that the above one mentions .Net Framework. This is just an example. Your message may be about another install of SQL Server.

If the components no longer appear in Add/Remove Programs you can try executing the following:

I’m attempting to install the standard version of SQL server 2005 on XP SP2. I’m getting the following:

Errors occurred during the installation:
Error 1603 installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 setup support files.

Are you installing from dumbs? Check if this is your case.

May be if it nothing works, its better you can completely uninstall using Windows installer Cleanup utility and try the installation once again, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 . Refer this link to manually remove Sql Server 2005, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967

I’m not clear on what dumbs are. I’m installing from two iso images from MSDN download library. I have two CD’s as a result. I read the KB and I don’t think this is the problem. I’m copying an excerpt from the log file. I noticed that it is having an issue insalling support files. Here it is:

Ensure that you install from your local hard disk by copying the same folder structures namely Tools and Servers from the CD

Perhaps this is the problem. I downloaded two iso files from MSDN and used an iso buster to burn the CD’s.

en_sql_32005_std_x86_cd1.iso and ..cd2.iso

The directory structure on both CD’s do not list a tools and servers directory whatsoever.

I tried to change using the SYSTEM user but it didn’t work. Any ideas?

I found a solution. My error was I installed SQL Management Studio 17.9 before when I should had installed first the SQL instance . So uninstalling SQL Management Studio and all their related componets allowed me to install SQL Server 2017 whithout problems.

Причины:

SQL Server уже установлен, но настроен неправильно.

Решение

Установите и настройте SQL Server, как описано в интерактивной справке. Перед установкой Vault SQL Server.

Примечание. Убедитесь, что файл установки совместим с возможностями ЦП: 32-разрядные процессоры работают только с соответствующими 32-разрядными файлами установки.
 

Если SQL уже установлен и не может быть удален, удалите все компоненты с помощью командной строки. Перед удалением SQL Server убедитесь, что текущая база данных была недавно создана, так как она будет также удалена. Используйте эту команду для получения GUID для каждого компонента SQL: 

WMIC PRODUCT GET Caption, IdentifyingNumber > c:info.txt

Используя GUID программного обеспечения, удалите компонент с помощью синтаксиса:

MSIEXEC /X {GUID}

Причина

Временное решение

Microsoft SQL Server Database Services and Analysis Services Failed Update With Error Code 1603

The other night I was trying to configure a simple database backup maintenance job on one of my company’s older Microsoft SQL 2005 servers. For some reason every time I tried to run the maintenance job I created it would fail for some reason.

Well after Googling around someone suggested that it might be a problem where Microsoft SQL Management Studio was a different version than the database services. Looking at it that was the case. Database services was at version 9.00.4035 and Microsoft SQL Management Studio was running 9.00.500. Apparently at some point, someone tried to run the SP4 upgrade and it failed and they just left it (Evil eyes goes to the DBA).

Anyhoo, so I decided to try and install SP4 for Microsoft SQL 2005, and it kept failing for database services and analysis services with an error similar to this:

Service Pack 4 for SQL Server Database Services 2005 ENU (KB2463332) could not be installed. Error code 1603.

Or

Service Pack 4 for SQL Server Analysis Services 2005 ENU (KB2463332) could not be installed. Error code 1603.

Apparently that is a common issue. To fix it you have to remove a few registry keys. MAKE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THOSE KEYS FIRST!

Remove the following to get database services to update:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1SetupSQLGroup
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1SetupAGTGroup
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1SetupFTSGroup

Remove the following to get analysis services to update:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2SetupASGroup

That’s it, after removing those registry keys the upgrade went smoothly… Oh, and the upgrade also fixed my maintenance job problem!

Trying to install SQL Server 2005 on Windows 7 Pro (x64). It was previously uninstalled and working however our client uninstalled it from their device after getting Blue Screen crashes. 

Now when trying to install SQL Server 2005 Express Service Pack 4 (or without SP, or with SP3) we get Error 1603. 

The file was downloaded from Microsoft Website and is copied on the C Drive. I have tried manually installing using command prompt etc with the same issue. 

I know SQL Server 2005 is no longer in support and not officially supported in Windows 7 but it was working fine and it’s the only thing that works with the legacy software we are using it with.
