To debug the problem, we first checked the status of the web server using the command:

The results showed that there was no problem with the Nginx web server.
Further, we checked the Nginx server logs. This helped us to find the kind of 5xx error returned from the website.

Additionally, we added the CDN full IP addresses to the server firewall whitelist. Finally, the website started working again.

Method 1 — Close Conflicting Programs
When you get a runtime error, keep in mind that it is happening due to programs that are conflicting with each other. The first thing you can do to resolve the problem is to stop these conflicting programs.
- Open Task Manager by clicking Ctrl-Alt-Del at the same time. This will let you see the list of programs currently running.
- Go to the Processes tab and stop the programs one by one by highlighting each program and clicking the End Process buttom.
- You will need to observe if the error message will reoccur each time you stop a process.
- Once you get to identify which program is causing the error, you may go ahead with the next troubleshooting step, reinstalling the application.
Method 2 — Update / Reinstall Conflicting Programs
Using Control Panel
- For Windows 7, click the Start Button, then click Control panel, then Uninstall a program
- For Windows 8, click the Start Button, then scroll down and click More Settings, then click Control panel > Uninstall a program.
- For Windows 10, just type Control Panel on the search box and click the result, then click Uninstall a program
- Once inside Programs and Features, click the problem program and click Update or Uninstall.
- If you chose to update, then you will just need to follow the prompt to complete the process, however if you chose to Uninstall, you will follow the prompt to uninstall and then re-download or use the application’s installation disk to reinstall the program.
Using Other Methods
- For Windows 7, you may find the list of all installed programs when you click Start and scroll your mouse over the list that appear on the tab. You may see on that list utility for uninstalling the program. You may go ahead and uninstall using utilities available in this tab.
- For Windows 10, you may click Start, then Settings, then choose Apps.
- Scroll down to see the list of Apps and features installed in your computer.
- Click the Program which is causing the runtime error, then you may choose to uninstall or click Advanced options to reset the application.
Method 3 — Update your Virus protection program or download and install the latest Windows Update
Virus infection causing runtime error on your computer must immediately be prevented, quarantined or deleted. Make sure you update your virus program and run a thorough scan of the computer or, run Windows update so you can get the latest virus definition and fix.
Method 4 — Re-install Runtime Libraries
You might be getting the error because of an update, like the MS Visual C++ package which might not be installed properly or completely. What you can do then is to uninstall the current package and install a fresh copy.
- Uninstall the package by going to Programs and Features, find and highlight the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package.
- Click Uninstall on top of the list, and when it is done, reboot your computer.
- Download the latest redistributable package from Microsoft then install it.
Method 5 — Run Disk Cleanup
You might also be experiencing runtime error because of a very low free space on your computer.
- You should consider backing up your files and freeing up space on your hard drive
- You can also clear your cache and reboot your computer
- You can also run Disk Cleanup, open your explorer window and right click your main directory (this is usually C: )

Method 6 — Reinstall Your Graphics Driver

- Open your Device Manager, locate the graphics driver
- Right click the video card driver then click uninstall, then restart your computer
Method 7 — IE related Runtime Error
If the error you are getting is related to the Internet Explorer, you may do the following:
- Reset your browser.
- For Windows 7, you may click Start, go to Control Panel, then click Internet Options on the left side. Then you can click Advanced tab then click the Reset button.
- For Windows 8 and 10, you may click search and type Internet Options, then go to Advanced tab and click Reset.
- Disable script debugging and error notifications.
- On the same Internet Options window, you may go to Advanced tab and look for Disable script debugging
- Put a check mark on the radio button
- At the same time, uncheck the «Display a Notification about every Script Error» item and then click Apply and OK, then reboot your computer.
If these quick fixes do not work, you can always backup files and run repair reinstall on your computer. However, you can do that later when the solutions listed here did not do the job.

This may happen due to database inconsistency caused by the unexpected shutdown, server crash, database corruption, etc. In such a case, users can’t connect to their mailbox stored in the dismounted database on the Exchange server. This can disrupt communication and lead to a loss of productivity. Thus, in this blog, we mentioned steps to help you resolve the database mount error code HR=0x80004005, EC=-543, and restore mailboxes.
The error, “MapiExceptionJetErrorRequiredLogFilesMissing: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-543)” often appears when an Exchange administrator tries to mount a dismounted or offline mailbox database (EDB) file on the Exchange server by using Mount-Database cmdlets.
At first, when you look at the error message, it indicates a problem that occurred due to missing log files. However, there could be several reasons, as mentioned below, that may cause unable to mount database error with error code “-543”.
- Exchange database file, i.e. EDB or STM file corruption
- The database file is in use or locked by another program, such as an antivirus
- The database is in Dirty Shutdown state
- Missing or corrupt logs
Usually, the error -543 unable to mount database is a result of EDB file corruption, dirty shutdown, or missing log files.
Steps to Resolve Exchange Database Mount Error -543
Below we have discussed steps that can help you resolve ‘Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-543)’ error and mount the database on the server. We have also discussed a method to restore mailboxes, when Exchange tools fail to fix the database mount error, by using an Exchange recovery software, such as Stellar Repair for Exchange. The software repairs corrupt or inconsistent database files (EDB), extracts mailboxes, and restores them to live Exchange directly. You can also save the extracted mailboxes to PST and import them manually on your Exchange server.
Step 1: Check and Stop Other Programs
Before mounting the database file, ensure that the EDB or STM file is not in use by another program, such as antivirus software. If the database file is in use and locked by antivirus software while scanning, the error ‘Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-543)’ may appear while mounting the database in the Exchange Management Shell (EMS).
You can add an exception in the antivirus software for Exchange database and log files to avoid such error instances or stop the antivirus for a while. Similarly, you can also check and close other utilities that may have access to the database files that you’re trying to mount.
Step 2: Restore Database from Backup
If the database file still fails to mount and error hr=0x80004005, ec=-543 is displayed, you can simply restore the database file from the last backup. If the backup is old and does not contain recent data, follow the next steps to resolve the error and mount the database file.
Step 3: Move Log Files to a Different Location
By moving current log files, which may be damaged or corrupt, you can recreate missing log files automatically. This may help you fix the problem and mount the database without any error. The steps are as follows,
- Navigate to the folder location where database log files are stored
- Create a new folder with any name
- Now move all the log files from the current log folder to this new folder
- Restart server. This will automatically recreate new log files and restore the missing log files
Step 4: Ensure Clean Shutdown State Before Mounting
Before mounting an offline or dismounted Exchange database file, you should always check the shutdown state of the database, whether it’s Clean or Dirty. To find if the database is in a dirty state, open Command Prompt (CMD) and enter the following command,
Eseutil /mh<Path to EDB File>
If the output displays ‘Dirty Shutdown’, you must bring the database to the Clean Shutdown state. This can be done by using the following command,
Eseutil /r “prefix”<E00> /l <log file location> /d <database location>
After executing the above command, again verify the state of the database by using the following command in CMD,
Eseutil /mh<Path to EDB File>
If you see Clean Shutdown in the output, go ahead and mount the database by using the Mount-Database cmdlet in EMS. In case of any error, while running these commands, you can choose to perform advanced recovery methods to recover the database.
Step 5: Perform Soft Recovery
Soft recovery is performed when the database or log files are corrupt or damaged and can’t be brought to a clean shutdown state for mounting. In this, the log files are replayed over the database to commit and update the latest changes saved in log files to the database. This is done manually on the offline database by using the following EseUtil command,
Eseutil /r eNN /L [log files path] /s [checkpoint file path] /d [database path] /i
For instance,
Eseutil /r E00 /l “C:Program FilesMicrosoftExchange ServerV15MailboxLogs” /d “C:Program FilesMicrosoftExchange ServerV15Mailbox Mailbox Database.edb” /i
After this, check that the database is in a clean state by using the following command,
Eseutil /mh
Step 6: Perform Hard Recovery (Risky)
Hard Recovery is required when Soft Recovery fails. However, it’s a risky method to recover the database as it may cause damage to the database and data loss. Before hard recovery, backup the database and ensure there’s enough free storage space available (equivalent to database size).
The command is as follows,
Eseutil /p <path to database file>
Now check the database state by using the following command,
Eseutil /mh
However, if the database is still in Dirty Shutdown state and doesn’t mount, use Stellar Repair for Exchange to fix the problem with the database. The software will help you extract and save the mailboxes from the corrupt database to your local storage as PST. You can import these PSTs to your Exchange server and restore the user mailboxes. You can also choose ‘Export to Live Exchange’ option to directly export the mailboxes from damaged database files to live Exchange and map mailboxes with user accounts.

- Click the Start button, select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.
- In the new window, select the “Restore my computer to an earlier time” option, and then click Next.

- Click Next in the confirmation window.
- Restarts the computer when the restore is complete.

Exchange database can often fail to mount thereby halting the work of all users connected to it. Finding out why database isn’t mounting is crucial and getting the server back online. Stellar Phoenix Mailbox Exchange Recovery is a champion product that can be used to fix all Exchange mounting errors
One of the most common occurrences troubling an Exchange database is the “unable to mount database” (HR=0x80004005, EC=-543) error. When this error arises, users can do little except look for ways to resolve it since all their server related activity stays halted until the database can be mounted.

And when it comes to finding the cause for an error, the numerical codes associated with them can provide critical information. In this post, we’re trying to resolve the “unable to mount database” error with the error code “-543”.
Reasons behind the error
Generally, Exchange mounting errors can be the result of varied causes like:
- Failure of internal Exchange operations
- Lock on the EDB file since it is being used by another program on the server
- Dirty Shutdown state of the database
- Missing transaction log files
- EDB file corruption
However, researches across various technical forums suggest that the primary triggers of Exchange mounting error -543 include dirty shutdown state, missing transaction log files, or EDB file corruption.
Resolving Exchange Mounting Error -543
After conducting discussions with Exchange administrators across various organizations, we have compiled a list of the most used solutions to fix this error. Try them out one after the other to resolve the issue. But remember to take a backup of your EDB and STM files in their current state before starting with any of the fixes. Also, proceed to the next fix only if the previous one fails.
1. Quit all programs that might be using the EDB file
Check the automated backup software and anti-virus applications installed on the server and verify that they are not holding a lock on the EDB and STM files. If these database files are being blocked by some background processes, they can cause Exchange database to fail to mount. Unlock the files using third-party file unlocking utilities.
2. Restore database from backup or by replaying log files
This method however cannot be used if a recent relevant backup isn’t available or if some critical log files have been corrupted.
3. Move all log files to a different location
Create a new folder and move all log files to it. This will cause the database to automatically create new log files thereby overriding faulty ones and recreating missing ones.
4. Run Soft Recovery
Restoring the database from backup or from log files is the best way to fix errors within it. Thus, find out what state the database is in by running the following command:
eseutil /mh "Database file"
If the database is in “dirty shutdown” state, try a soft recovery on it using the following command:
eseutil /r "prefix"<E00> /l <log file location> /d <database location>
5. Create Recovery Database and Restore to it
To use this method, you should have the know-how of Exchange Management Shell. Here are the steps:
a. Use the following command in shell to create the recovery database:
New-MailboxDatabase -Recovery -Name RDB -Server “servername” -EdbFilePath "path" -LogFolderPath "path”
b. Select the Database to be restored from the “Backup Exec Restore” job properties
c. Go to Microsoft Exchange Redirection and select Redirect Exchange Sets.
d. Go to Microsoft Exchange and select Default options
e. Run the restore
f. Once the restore is successfully completed data from a RDB can be merged to an existing mailbox or exported to a folder
6. Hard Repair the Database (Risky Method)
Please note that this method should only be used as a “last resort” since it carries the risk of data loss. This method attempts to repair corrupted pages within the Exchange database, but discards the pages that cannot be repaired.
a. Run a hard repair on the database by running the command:
eseutil /p "Database file"
b. Thereafter, defragment the database. Offline defragmentation creates a new physical database structure and moves the existing data to that structure. Use the command:
eseutil /d “Database file”
c. Lastly, check the consistency of the database. You may need to run Isinteg several times until the summary report returns no errors. Use the command:
Isinteg -fix
Repair Database files using Third-party Software

(1) How to check operation of the toner sensor at the printer side.
1.
Status change of the toner sensor can be checked from the Operator Panel
using the self-diagnostic mode. First, switch the display to the Operator Panel
display. For the method of switching the display to the Operator Panel display,
refer to section 3.4.2.3 Switch Scan Test
2.
Remove the ID unit and the toner cartridge (TC) from a printer. There is a
window inside a printer opposing the ID side when viewed from the front of
a printer. The toner sensor is located inside the window.
3.
Place a white paper 3 mm away from the sensor window. The white paper
should be placed in the manner of opposing the toner sensor.
4.
When light is reflected by a white paper so that incident light falls on the
toner sensor, the Operator Panel display shows «L». When the paper is
moved so that any light is not reflected by the paper so that the incident light
does not reach the toner sensor, «H» is displayed on the Operator Panel.
5.
If the Operator Panel display toggles between «H» <-> «L» as a paper is
flipped in front of the toner sensor, it indicates that the toner sensor and the
related system of the printer are working normally.

•
Clean surface of the toner sensor to remove the stains due to residual toner
and paper dust.
•
Check the connection state between the CU/PU board and the toner sensor
board (97T) that are connected with the FFC cable.
•
Check it once again, and if no change has found in the state, replace the CU/
PU board or the toner sensor board (97T).
(2) How to check operation of the toner sensor at the toner cartridge (TC) side
1.
To the position where the toner sensor is confirmed to be operating normally
in the printer itself by the above paragraph (1), install the TC and the ID unit
to check operations by observing display on the Operator Panel.
2.
If the ID unit works normally, the display on the Operator Panel will toggle
between «H» <-> «L» in synchronism with movement of the silver reflector
plate that is located on the side of the ID.

Check operation condition of the respective ID motors by using the Motor &
Clutch Test of the self-diagnostic mode.

Clean surface of the silver reflector plate on the side of ID to remove stains.

Replace the TC of different color and the ID unit as a pair.
If a satisfactory operation is attained by using the a pair of TC of different
color and the ID unit, replace the TC or replace the ID unit.
