this error message commonly occurs for two reasons:

a) you are using a Volume Licensed product and have not entered/applied/activated the correct product key
b) your pc/network is not correctly configured for your company KMShost activation server

Did you purchase MS Office at a store or online?
Did your company/educational-organisation provide the software to you?
Have you entered your product key for MS Office?

on your pc (assuming Vista or Win7), please do the following steps:

Open an elevated console:
1) click: Start button
2) type in: cmd
3) right-click the displayed result and click on Run as Administrator
4) if prompted by User Account Control, accept the offer. The console windows opens to c:windowssystem32

5) type in: cd
6) press: enter
7a) (assuming 32bit Windows) type in: cd program files
7b) (if 64bit Windows) type in: cd program files (x86)
press enter
9) type in: cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus
10) press: enter

the resulting information displayed will show the current installed product, channel, and licensing status.

11) right-click on the displayed information, and click: Mark
12) use the mouse to drag/highlight the output
13) when all is highlighted, press: enter

the information is now temporarily stored in your clipboard. return to this forum thread and post the information in a reply, by using the Paste function.

Please help !
After getting Error code: 0x8007232B the first time using key BG3G9-W8324-PK89C-JPB2B-X49DP
I obtained key HRDKX-43R77-TQ8Q4-3Q8F3-8PJMR
Still couldn’t install.
The process accepted the keys, but if I rebooted, I had to go through the whole process of activating
and informing the keys again .
Found in the web key 22HGX-728MX-BBWX9-7BB8X-J96B4.
Tried it. Still no success.
Found on this forum key 2PWHY-KT4X6-96PYW-XQR7V-HW2W9
Still no success. Still getting error code 0x8007232B.

OS is XP 32bit Professional SP3,
Laptop is Fujitsu E8410

If needed I will use regedit

At this point a window popped up with error message

Error: The Software Protection Platform service is not running.

I hit the OK, got response from the system

If I run ospp.vbs with NO parameters, a window titled

with the syntax usage of ospp.vbs showing.

No problem! Thanks for your patience. the quickest way to start the ospp service is to start an Office application, such as Microsoft Word. Then run the ospp.vbs commands. Here are my suggestions:

1.) Start Microsoft Word
2.) Go to your command prompt and run the ospp.vbs commands
Ted Way [MSFT], Program Manager, Microsoft Office PLEX Enterprise Licensing, Group Policy, and 64-bit Office

I went through the install process again,
used key 2PWHY-KT4X6-96PYW-XQR7V-HW2W9.

Word came up Ok.

How to Fix Office Activation Error 0x80070005 (Office 365, Office 2013 or Office 2010) – Cannot Activate Office

On several computers, I have faced the following error when I try to activate Office 2013 (or 2010) suite: «We’re sorry, something went wrong and we can’t do this for you right now. Please try again later. (0x80070005)». The «0x80070005» error commonly means that the activation service runs into insufficient user permissions. To easily resolve the «0x80070005» error code during Office activation, follow the steps below.

How to fix Office 2013 or Office 365 Activation error 0x80070005

Note: To fix the Office 2010 activation error 0x80070005 see below:

Method 1: Activate Office 2013 or Office 365 as Administrator.

In order to bypass the activation error in Office 2013 run any Office application (e.g. Word) with administrative privileges.

1. Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft Office: Right click on any Office program (e.g. Word) and select Run as Administrator.

2. After doing that you ‘ll able to activate MS Office 2013 without problems. If you still face the activation error 0x80070005 follow the steps in method 2.

Method 2: Activate Office 2013 or Office 365 by using a script.

1. Open an elevated command prompt:

• Go to Start >Programs >Accessories. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

2. In command prompt, type Copy & right-click > Paste)> the following commands (one by one) and press Enter:

For Office 2013 or 365 32bit on a Windows 32bit:

• cd Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

For Office 2013 or 365 32bit on a Windows 64bit:

• cd Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice15
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

For Office 2013 or 365 64bit on a Windows 64bit:

• cd Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice15
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

3. Activate MS Office 2013 (or Office 365).

How to Solve Office 2010 activation error 0x80070005

Method 1: Activate Office 2010 as Administrator.

1. Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft Office: Hold down the SHIFT key and right click in any Office program (e.g. Word 2010). Select Run as Administrator.

2. Try to activate MS Office 2010 now. If you still have problems follow the method 2 below.

Method 2: Activate Office 2010 by using a script.

1. Open an elevated command prompt:

• Go to Start >Programs >Accessories. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

2. In the command prompt, type Paste)> the following commands (one by one) according to your Office and Windows versions and press Enter:

For Office 2010 32bit on a Windows 32bit:

• cd Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice14
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

For Office 2010 32bit on a Windows 64bit:

• cd Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

For Office 2010 64bit on a Windows 64bit:

• cd Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice14
• cscript ospp.vbs /act

3. Try to activate MS Office 2010 now. If you still have problems follow the method 3 below.

Method 3: Activate Office 2010 by giving on Network Service full permissions on Office Software Protection Platform folder.

Another method to bypass the Office 2010 0x80070005 activation error, is to give full permissions to Network Service on Office Software Protection platform. To do that:

In Windows 8, 7 & Vista:

1. Open an elevated command prompt:

• Go to Start >Programs >Accessories. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.

2. In the command prompt, type Paste)> the following command and press Enter:

• icacls C:ProgramDataMicrosoftOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform /grant «Network Service:(OI)(CI)(R,W,D)» /t

3. Close command prompt window and try to activate your Office suite.

In Windows XP:

1. Open Command prompt (Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt).

2. In the command prompt, type Paste)> the following command and press Enter:

• cacls «C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersMicrosoftOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform» /t /e /p «Network Service»:C

3. Close command prompt window and try to activate your Office suite.

Renew Microsoft Office/Windows KMS license for FREE manually

By default, KMS license is valid for only 180 days and it will be renewed every 7 days as from the date of activation. However, in some cases, this process can be stuck. The following are some reasons for this problem.

• Your PC is not connected to the internet or the connection is unstable when the license renewal process is called.
• You are using a third-party firewall so the connection to KMS server is denied.
• You are using different versions of Office on your PC. Retail and Volume version on the same PC?

Workarounds

• Make sure your PC is always connected and your internet connection is stable.
• If you are using another firewall, please open port 1688.
• Please do not use Office retail and volume on the same Windows.

How to renew KMS license

1. Renew Microsoft Office license

Step 1.2: Copy and run the command below. Note: “Office16” is code name of Office 2016. If you are using Office 2013/2010, just replace it with “Office15” and “Office14”.

If you see an error, try this command.

2. Renew Microsoft Windows license

Step 2.2: Execute this command.

i followed the steps and for some days i thought i am using Office 365. However I noticed that the product activated is Office 2016. In control panel it shows Office 365. Now after few days it looks like I am using Office 2016. Please help me out with 365. As i know some basics only.

Same to me… always activate 2016… never 365 (and its installed… when you uninstall the key office shows 365)

The problem may be with the location of the Office16 folder, you may have the incorrect path to it and it can not find the ospp.vbs because its looking in the wrong place
try switching to one of these directories

or using one or the other cmds

I did the steps as mentioned and got the “Product activated successfully” as well but still when I go to Office it says your not office is not genuine!
In the accounts it shows “Product activated”

What am I Doing wrong?

Same problem as vini. Tried all the options on website. Upon opening any of the Office Pro features, a Microsoft popup box says “Why risk it? Get genuine Office You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. Risks of using counterfeit software can include great exposure to malware attacks, corrupt files, data loss, and missing out on critical security updates. Avoid the risk and get a genuine Office license today.” I thought I had it working with the process for downloading from Microsoft via the link you had posted on website and dont think I saw it afterwards yesterday, but still there today. I did go months and even did a renewal in past months, but well, how do we fix this now.

MS removed the KMS Server adress with an update….? slmg /dlv says its not defined , so /ato will not work.

I tried your solution but after using cscript, the command prompt (as admin) just got stuck.
At the bottom, I copied what I got from de command prompt. As you can see I’m using Windows in Spanish.
Windows version and Script Host are different than the one you show in your pictures:

Have tried different methods for activating the product.
Since I have availed a one month free try I was not able to activate office like other procedures.
And finally I’ve found this method and it worked super correctly and now the product is activated.

Не всегда процесс активации Windows 10 проходит гладко, препятствовать ему могут всевозможные сбои, вызванные различными причинами. Одна из подобных ошибок сопровождается кодом 0x8007232b и сообщает о том, что устройство не находит сервер KMS. В тексте сообщения может говориться «DNS не существует» или «Не удалось активировать Windows. Узел управления ключами KMS недоступен».

Встретить сбой можно независимо от сборки Windows по неочевидным причинам (от сетевых проблем до использования неподходящего версии системы ключа или пиратской ОС), а потому способов решения будет несколько. Применяя варианты устранения поочерёдно, вы избавитесь от ошибки.

Использование средства исправления неполадок

Если активация Windows 10 не выполняется по вине ошибки 0x8007232b, рекомендуем для начала вооружиться штатным средством системы, рассчитанным на автоматическое устранение неисправностей при обнаружении. Проверка сетевого адаптера целесообразна по причине возможных проблем сети. Для этого выполняем такие манипуляции:

Сброс кэша DNS

Отсутствие доступа к DNS, благодаря которому выполняется проверка подлинности ключа, – одна из частых причин, вызывающих код ошибки 0x8007232b при активации Windows 10. Чаще всего решить вопрос удаётся посредством сброса кэша. Выполняется процедура с применением штатного средства операционной системы:

SLMGR является средством управления лицензированием ПО в Windows. Если предыдущие способы не дали должного результата, для выполнения активации системы можете применить скрипт, для чего проделываем такие шаги:

Проверка компьютера на вирусы

Вредоносный софт может препятствовать многим системным процессам, включая работу инструментов лицензирования, в результате чего можно получить уведомление 0x8007232b при активации Windows 10. Просканировать операционную систему на наличие угроз можно установленным на компьютере антивирусным софтом и дополнительно сторонними утилитами, например, Dr.Web CureIt!, AdwCleaner, AVZ, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool и подобными.

Проверка целостности системных файлов

Интегрированные инструменты Windows позволяют решить ряд проблем, вызывающих ошибки, включая сбой с кодом 0x8007232b. Если причина в отсутствии, повреждении отдельных элементов в системе, просканировать и исправить найденные неполадки позволит штатная утилита SFC. Инструмент работает из Командной строки, запущенной с администраторскими правами:

• открываем консоль (с администраторскими правами) через контекстное меню «Пуск» или «Поиск»;
• используем запрос «sfc/scannow», жмём Enter и дожидаемся окончания процесса. Система самостоятельно восстановит повреждённые элементы при обнаружении таковых, а сведения отобразятся на экране;
• перезагружаем устройство и проверяем, исчезла ли ошибка.

Если утилитой были обнаружены повреждённые элементы, при этом восстановить их не удалось, можно также задействовать инструмент DISM:

• открываем Командную строку на правах администратора;
• прописываем в терминале следующие запросы:

  dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

  

  dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  
  (после каждого запроса жмём клавишу ввода, на выполнение запросов потребуется некоторое время);

• закрываем консоль по окончании манипуляций и перезагружаем девайс.

Проверка установки узла KMS

Если вы являетесь администратором, а клиент не находит узел KMS и не получается выполнить активацию, следует убедиться в его наличии. Также должна быть включена по умолчанию публикация DNS.

Убеждаемся, что на компьютере имеется рабочий узел KMS (применяем зарегистрированный в DNS ключ KMS):

• открываем Командную строку с правами администратора, при необходимости подтверждаем действие путём ввода пароля;
• в терминале применяем команду
  

  «nslookup -type = all _vlmcs.tcp> kms.txt»

  (жмём Enter);

• переходим к созданному файлу, где будет указано расположение службы SRV.

Серверы KMS автоматически оставляют записи DNS SRV каждые сутки, поэтому следует проверить в реестре, регистрируется ли сервер.

Далее выполняем следующее:

ВНИМАНИЕ. Выполнять манипуляции с реестром следует при наличии определённых навыков работы, неосторожность пользователя может привести к неприятным последствиям, в том числе краху системы. Рекомендуем сделать резервную копию перед выполнением задачи.

Установка многократного ключа активации

Решение заключается в применении ключа многократной активации (МАК), что будет альтернативой активации KMS, если требуется активировать систему, тогда как ключи KMS не срабатывают. Осуществляем манипуляции посредством Командной строки, запущенной на правах администратора, и команды «slmgr -ipk ключ активации». Минус метода в том, что ключи МАК применимы для активации определённого числа устройств, а потому при сбросе параметров или переустановке Windows подсчёт числа активированных девайсов не будет возвращён.
