Error!Frisk is the Frisk from Aftertale and was friends with Geno!Sans however ever since his disappearance Frisk has been looking for him for days, months, years, but Frisk couldn't find their friend. Frisk became determined to find Geno!Sans and would use any means necessary to achieve their goal. Frisk went back to the Underground and back to the True Lab where they found a secret room and discovered the Ent

Origin

Error!Frisk is the Frisk from Aftertale and was friends with Geno!Sans however ever since his disappearance Frisk has been looking for him for days, months, years, but Frisk couldn’t find their friend. Frisk became determined to find Geno!Sans and would use any means necessary to achieve their goal. Frisk went back to the Underground and back to the True Lab where they found a secret room and discovered the Entry number 17. Frisk could not translate the language however the wingdings soon becomes words translating the language for Frisk. They read the Entry and discovered about an experiment they had no full understanding of, but then hands start appearing and floating in mid-air.

Frisk’s curiosity got the better of them as they follow the floating hands guiding them to the Determination Extractor. The True Lab went into total lockdown and multiple hands grabbed Frisk holding them in place. The Determination Extractor activated as a beam of pure light starts charging as Frisk tries to escape but the hands firmed their grip as Frisk could not move. The beam of pure light fires at Frisk being obliterated and banished from their world, never to return again. Frisk appears in a White void as it is devoid of nature but then they see a glitched skeleton in front of them.

Frisk then realised it is Sans as they run up to him. The skeleton realises their presence and uses strings to trap the human. Sans disliked the human as they glitch calling them ‘a dirty little glitch.’ Frisk uses sign language asking Sans that does he remember them but he did not care as he tries to kill Frisk but he couldn’t. Sans has the intention to kill Frisk, but then realises that their soul is glitched and no matter what he does he cannot kill them. Sans reluctantly lets Frisk go annoyed that he could not kill them. Sans finally answers Frisk’s question stating that he does not remember anything about his past, but he also reveals that his name is Error not Sans.

Error explains that are many Sans’s in the multiverse so they are given nicknames to not confuse anyone, he also mentions how he would erase them. Error then decided to call Frisk Abomination #0 a name that Frisk did not like. Error did not want to babysit Frisk and wonders if they have any abilities other than Fight, Act, Item or Spare. Error then decides to fight Frisk just for his amusement but Frisk gets pushed to the breaking point as they accidently fired glitched bones, spears, flames and Gaster Blasters which surprised Error. Error intrigued by this new discovery then offers to take Frisk as his new apprentice and in return he will find the Sans they are looking for. Frisk accepts Error’s offer as they both make a handshake and from that day forward he trains Frisk to unlock more of their powers.

Profile

Appearance

Frisk’s appearance drastically changes for spending so much time in the Anti-Void. Error!Frisk has very dark skin with silver hair in a bob hairstyle. Error!Frisk wears a long sleeved brown t-shirt with lime stripes and brown shorts, they also have dark grey boots. If Error!Frisk cries the tears are a lapis lazuli blue also the same colour if they blush.

Personality

Frisk is a helpful, kind and caring person who wants to bring out the best in others but they are determined to find their Sans. They don’t want to destroy AUs like Error because it is mainly pointless to them so instead they help where they can to save or support others in their time of need. Frisk communicates using sign language and glitched images. Frisk rarely talks and never wants to fight anyone, but they will defend themselves if they have to. Frisk no longer remembers their past in Aftertale but they still remember Geno!Sans and their goal is to find him whatever means necessary.

Soul

Error!Frisk has the glitched Soul of Determination meaning they can no longer die under normal circumstances however, in the process they have lost the power of save points as well as reset.

Abilities

Error Blaster: Error!Frisk uses a Gaster Blaster that’s only Error in name as their Blasters are coloured a crimson red with black eye sockets. Their Gaster Blaster is weaker than Classic Sans’s, but it has the added effect of slowness. (Their Blaster looks very much like the Determination Extractor)

Blue Strings: Error teaches Error!Frisk how to use the blue strings to control or shatter SOULs. Error!Frisk is never keen on using this ability but only uses it to stop genocidal maniacs or to save someone’s life.

Error Fire Magic: Error!Frisk learns fire magic using their Determination but it is glitched and can often launch erratically as they rarely use this ability. They have the ability to summon fire at will as they can call waves of fire.

Error Spear Telekinesis: Error!Frisk can summon light blue energy spears to telekinetically launch them or have them emerge from the ground. However, they can also launch erratically as well as one of Error!Frisk’s most dangerous and unpredictable weapons which is why they never use them around companions as it could unintentionally hurt someone.

AU Hopping: Error!Frisk learns AU hopping from Error as he did not want to babysit Error!Frisk. They have the ability to teleport to any AU they desire and go back to the Anti-Void whenever they desire as well.

The Power of Gift: Error!Frisk learns the ability to give or take abilities from other people. If they take it will be a glitched variation of the ability or if they give they can transfer their power to someone else, but they lose that power in the process. Error!Frisk uses this ability wisely however they can take their power back if they desired to. The person who is gifted Error!Frisk’s powers can have an error or normal version of the ability whatever their preference might be.

Weaknesses

Crashing (Error!Frisk.Exe has crashed): Error!Frisk at random times can glitch at random times as it results in stopping their movement as the area glitches around them. It is a major disadvantage if Error!Frisk glitches in battle but these normally last for short periods of time.

Merciful: Error!Frisk can be merciful to a fault as they try to become friends with everyone they meet whether they are a pacifist or a murderer. Plenty of people use their mercy against them in order to get closer to other humans or monsters with ill intentions.

Depression: Error!Frisk gets depressed when someone is killed or harmed by their actions and usually blames themselves for their downfall.

Relationships

Geno!Sans (Friends)

Geno!Sans at first uses Frisk as a tool to recruit Classic Sans, but after some time he warms up to Frisk becoming good friends. Error!Frisk wants the best for Geno!Sans to give him the happiest ending and mend their relationship. Frisk wants Geno!Sans to be happy and to live peacefully so he never has to see the genocide timeline ever again. Frisk does not know that Error is Geno!Sans.

Error!Sans (Mentor)

Error Sans is not the typical mentor and only teaches Frisk about their powers because they were intrigued of what they are capable of. Frisk dislikes Error because of his childish behaviour and his pointless crusade of destroying AUs, but they are still determined to find their Sans so they cope with him for now. Error and Frisk are just acquaintances and nothing more, but they will work together if they have a common goal.

Error!Papyrus (Frisk’s fear)

Frisk is horrified of Error!Papyrus and teleports away to Papyrus’s confusion. Frisk wasn’t scared or frightened, but rather upset that Papyrus is an error and couldn’t bear to face him again so they try to avoid him as best as possible.

Ink Sans (Acquaintances)

Error warns Frisk about Ink as this is the only time he has shown empathy towards them. Error warned that Ink is the so-called protector of the AUs, but in reality it’s all a trick to catch people off guard. Error explains all of Ink’s abilities to Frisk and only gave them one warning to not trust him. Frisk meets up with Ink one time as he is curious of Frisk. Ink asks who they are they replied in sign language that their Frisk. Ink knows that they are Frisk but he asks about their nickname as Frisk uses an image to describe what Error has called them. Ink mentions it is a terrible name then came up with the idea to call them Zerror as he uses the words Zero and Error which resulted in Zerror. Frisk agrees to have that name as Ink said his farewell mentioning that they will meet again soon.

Krotos (Friends)

Zerror met Krotos by accident as he was banished to the Anti-Void by his world’s Gaster and then Error Sans wanted to kill them, but Zerror luckily managed to get both of them on the same page. Krotos and Zerror journey around alternative universes trying to find their Sans gaining information from Error as they destroy universes. Krotos did not want Zerror to be a murderer like him so he volunteered to destroy AUs in exchange for information about Zerror’s Sans. Zerror apricates Krotos doing it for them, but they loathe themselves for Krotos committing terrible acts of Genocide just to find their Sans. In the end they become closer friends even in the darkest of times.

CORE!Frisk (Friends)

CORE!Frisk tells everything to both Krotos and Zerror about Zerror’s Sans although the revelation horrified them at first, but after sometime they comforted each other and are relieved they do not have to harm more people. CORE!Frisk gives them both an offer to live in the Omega Timeline which Zerror accepted however Krotos did not. After accepting CORE!Frisk’s offer they become good friends getting to know each other better and both observing the events on who Krotos is recruiting. Well most of the time anyway.

  • Harvey7Demise asked askerrorfrisk for permission to create an origin story and wiki for Error Frisk which they agreed to.
  • The character Frisk/Errortale is supposed to closely resemble Error Frisk from the ask series on Tumblr if not the same character with some minor changes appearance wise.
  • The nickname Zerror for Error Frisk from Errortale is to differentiate if they ever meet their counterpart Error Frisk from the ask series.
  • Before C.Q. revealed Error’s origins, people assumed Frisk had come from a broken timeline. They assumed that after the first timeline was destroyed, Frisk had turned into Error!Frisk and had become Error’s student. However this is not the case anymore.

They have sky-blue bowl-cut hair  Navy blue-skin; they have gold (Frisk) and Crimson (Chara) eyes. They wear an orange sweater with green errors in place of where the stripes were once were; complete with brown shorts and black shoes. They wear a bandage cross the bridge of their nose, covering a wound from a traumatic experience back then[1]. Like most of the Glitched characters of the Anti-void, their entire form were often filled with glitches and statics.

Abilities

Because of their Glitched Determinaiton, they gained a variety of abilities[2]:

  • Glitch Portals: Like Error!Sans, Errisk can use their glitches to create portals to other AUs.
  • Gifts of Life: using their Altered Determination, they can bring any inanimate objects to life; however, they’re more like expressive Robots than anything else.
  • Emoțional Auras: they can emit Auras that could effect the area around them; said effect strongly depends on the emotions they’re experiencing at the time.
  • Wails of Distortions: When Errisk became too distressed, they let out a ear piercing cry that distort the world around them with their glitches.

Biography

Frisk was raised by her mother and father. Her mother was unemployed, while her father was a police officer. Her parents despised each other, and it is implied that they argued at least every night. However, the couple did not try to spare Frisk in their fights, verbally and physically abusing her.

Her father spent most of the family’s money on alcohol as a result, leaving the house in very bad shape with empty bottles of alcohol everywhere, and bills left unpaid. As such, Frisk spent most of her time away from home, wandering most of the time in the park to avoid her drunk father.

One day, her parents were fighting and she heard a scream, making her way to the living room to see what happened. There, she saw her father repeatedly beating her mother to death, and after he realizes that Frisk was watching, he starts to go after her too. Frisk runs to the kitchen, taking a knife that her mother hid to defend herself in case her father tries to kill her someday, and flees to the upstairs bedroom. When her father came after her, she stabbed him in self-defense.

With nowhere to go, she ended up finding Mt.Ebott where she intended to kill herself. But there she ended up seeing the happy world in which she had so much fun. Her adventure in that place was incredible, she had met people so wonderful and great that she wanted to live it forever, again and again. This child never considered that what she was doing was selfish and that it could hurt someone. Her world was destroyed due to her Reset, and Frisk was left alone in a white space without friends and family, trying to rebuild her AU. After a while Ink went to that AU to find out what was there, but the only sounds that Ink could hear was the sound of Frisk’s cry of despair. Ink helped Frisk to be happy and was a great help to her in general.

Later, she meets Core Frisk, who tries to get her to a safe place, but she denies it, saying that her world was still there, despite Ink saying otherwise. Periodically Ink would visit her so she wouldn’t feel lonely (he gave her Iris, who is a little bit of paint, to stay with her when he’s not around). On these visits Frisk developed a long-standing admiration for Ink. Despite her shyness, especially when she is unable to articulate what she means, Ink and Frisk get along. One day when they were drawing things Frisk got up. She looked a little depressed when Ink told Frisk that he couldn’t raise the dead, however, Error entered her universe to take her soul. Ink tried to intervene but was shot down by Error when he tried to save Frisk. Frisk out of desperation tries to help her friend, but gets trapped by Error’s strings, and he ends up tearing her arm off. Ink caught the attention of Error causing a distraction for Frisk to escape.

Frisk ran away, leaving Ink alone. She was very scared and very worried about Ink, making her feel useless, causing her to have a mix of various feelings. She immediately gets mad at the issue, and that attracts Nightmare Sans. Both make a deal: if Frisk can mentally hurt someone in every universe she visits, she can take parts of those worlds to rebuild her own. Nightmare noticed that she did not have an arm, so he removed a piece of his black goo to make a new «arm”, moved by sadness, hate, and selfish desire she accepted.

Frisk committed several genocides which she regrets. She knows that these genocides destroyed several AUs in which the possible survivors are going through the same sadness that she went through at the beginning, and this disturbs her to the point of madness. Before she goes crazy she meets Fresh Frisk in some AU, and she is uncomfortable with her presence because the only “ communication ” she had tried to kill her, the same thing with Fresh Frisk and it didn’t take long until she realized that Drawing! was just a scared and crying little girl.

It didn’t take long for both of them to become friends. Fresh told her about her adventures and Frisk was amazed by her stories and it didn’t take long for Fresh to notice that her arm was bandaged. She asked Drawing! about it out of curiosity — they were friends, right? When she told her Fresh laughed asking if that was a joke — who was dumb enough to make a deal with Nightmare? As she said that Drawing!Frisk’s face was serious and she fell silent. Fresh asked her if she wants to run away and Drawing! said no, saying that Nightmare would find her, but even so, Fresh took her to an AU. It was a peaceful pacifist place, with a small town in which they could have a new start.

They both live in a medium apartment which belongs to Fresh!Frisk. Now Drawing! had a house and a new friend and a new life, but that didn’t change the facts anytime Nightmare can come after her because of the deal. Nightmare knew that one day this child would try to get out of the deal, but he wasn’t stupid. He can track the girl eventually through the negative emotions flowing through the arm he gave her.

Profile

Appearance

Drawing! has a very diverse and colorful appearance, which reflects her personality. She has heterochromia, accompanied by a huge cream brown scarf with yellow stars and roses. Her denim monkey is covered by her purse (carrying her notebook where she makes her drawings and poems) in the same color, only in a dark tone. She also wears a baby pink jacket tied at the waist. On her feet are her brown boots.

Personality

Drawing! is always cheerful and outgoing girl, always kind, shy, sweet, delicate, soft-spoken, and polite. She is a kind person, who is not willing to see people suffer in front of her and does not like to fight much. She is usually understanding, even forgiving towards certain individuals who clearly do not deserve any forgiveness. Drawing! is able to understand the pain of others, she usually thinks carefully before acting, allowing her to think more clearly in difficult situations. She also became very selfish, ruining the pacifist routes of other AUs just to restore her AU.

Abilities

  • Despair Arm: Because of the arm Nightmare has given her, she is able to destroy things without a second thought.
  • Soul reading: She can see the soul of a human or monster, and can see if the soul is good or bad.
  • Immunity to empathic manipulation: she doesn’t feel emotions naturally.
  • High-level regeneration: her wounds heal very fast.
  • Immunity to soul manipulation: due to the lack of a soul, it cannot be controlled.
  • Art Bag: it has the power to “suck” objects into itself which later you can take out later.

Because of Nightmare’s “missions” of committing genocide, her LOVE level may be close to Dust Sans’s level or even higher.

Relationships

Fresh! Frisk

After Drawing was almost killed by Error and made a deal with Nightmare, she meets Fresh Frisk. Their relationship was strange as Fresh Frisk did not like her company very much at first, but after a while they both became friends.

Fun fact: Fresh Frisk was the one who gave her the name ‘Drawing’ to Frisk since she likes to give nicknames, she said that she was very similar to the rainbow vomit project (Ink).

Ink! Sans

Ink was the only one who kept her company at the beginning of everything. Ink would visit her sometimes so that she wouldn’t feel alone (he gave Iris, who is a little bit of paint to stay with her when he’s not around), and during these visits Frisk developed a long-standing admiration for Ink. Due to her shyness, especially when she is unable to articulate what she means, Ink and Frisk get along. Drawing! still feels ashamed for abandoning Ink when she was fighting Error and is afraid he is angry with her, so she hasn’t looked for him yet.

Error! Sans / Nightmare! Sans

Error is a destroyer of alternative universes, and he destroys anything that he considers to be a mistake, yet it was him who tore off Frisk’s arm and tried to kill her for considering her as a failure. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that she tries to be friendly with him, she knows about his relationship with Ink through Fresh Frisk (the only one that goes to AUs, Drawing! Is still afraid to leave) and this reinforces her theory that people a second chance.

Even after a few years Drawing! is still afraid of Nightmare. She fears that one day he may come after her, and this is a great reason for her not to leave the AU where she and Fresh Frisk live. She knows that he “cursed” her arm, and it only gets worse from negative thinking, so she avoids thinking about heavy subjects, otherwise black goo will consume her body.

Core! Frisk

Core! was the second person who tried to help Frisk. She tries to take her to a safe place, but Drawing! denies it, saying that her world was still there. Core is one of the few who knows it exists.

Cross! Sans

After Drawing! decided to overcome her fears, she decides to go back to the AUs together with Fresh!Frisk. They found Cross in an empty white place sitting on the floor. He seemed sad, and despite the fear that he could kill her, Drawing! went to try to have a friendly conversation with him. He did try to kill her, but after a few conversations she realized that the both of them had the same story and the same profound sadness for not having their home. Cross doesn’t like her company, but sometimes he likes to talk to her.

No pose recuerdos muy precisos de su anterior vida antes de convertirse en un “Fallo”, pero son mejores a los que “Error! Sans” tiene. Además desde niño las habilidades que pose se basan completamente en las emociones que llegue a sentir.

Desde el accidente que causó la existencia de “ErrorTale” varios factores afectaron al humano una vez que su estado corrupto l@ convirtió a lo que es hoy. Pero ello trajo consigo a un personaje inesperado he “invisible” para la vista de un ser desinformado, la cuál dicha presencia no es mas y nada menos que:

“Chara”

Debido a lo sucedido, una pequeña fracción del “alma” de Chara se fusion con la de “Error! Frisk” una vez que se efectuó el “fallo” en su “código”. Aun que el ser humano mantiene el control el “90%” del tiempo, cuándo su tristeza nubla su juicio en un momento de vulnerabilidad ante recuerdos oscuros (relacionados a la Ruta Genocida) su segundo acompañante (Chara) puede aprovechar para asumir el control

Pero la mayoría de veces puede verse presente ante la “Autodefensa”, ya que no siempre la amabilidad de “Frisk” será suficiente ante el peligro, siendo principalmente Chara quién incidente también ante su medio “comunicativo” (voz interna) en dar consejos “malos” para la victoria.

Иногда натыкаешься на Youtube на какую-нибудь переделку трека из Undertale. Решаешь поинтересоваться, почему у неё целых три миллиона просмотров, и узнаёшь, что это не просто переделка, а саундтрек к какой-нибудь популярной фанатской вселенной по игре.

Это и неудивительно: благодаря запоминающимся персонажам, интересной истории и прекрасной музыке Undertale быстро породила бесчисленное количество мемов. Уже потом она вдохновила людей на создание самых разных фанфиков, фанатских рисунков, комиксов, ремиксов и даже анимаций.

Именно благодаря гиперактивности фанатского сообщества у Undertale вскоре начали появляться параллельные вселенные. Миры, настолько глубоко продуманные, что у них тоже есть свои комиксы, анимации с миллионными просмотрами и самостоятельные игры. Мы расскажем вам о самых необычных. Давайте узнаем, насколько глубока кроличья нора…

Необходимая теория: классификация фанатских вселенных по Undertale

Прежде чем начать рассказ о фанатских вселенных Undertale, стоит разобраться в их типах. Их два: вселенные могут отличаться по типу исполнения персонажей или по общему настроению, в котором зачастую иной сюжет. Следует сразу прояснить, что мы расскажем только о самых популярных типах и настроениях — если подробно освещать все ныне существующие ответвления, то не хватит и трёх статей.

Итак, по типу исполнения персонажей фанатские вселенные по Undertale делятся на:

  • Switch-Up — роли основных персонажей перемешиваются. Например, вездесущего юмориста Санса заменяет его брат Папирус. В остальном история редко сильно отличается от оригинала.
  • Species Swap — виды всех персонажей изменены. Тот, кто раньше был монстром, теперь вполне может оказаться человеком.
  • Special Event — в сюжете происходят события, в корне меняющие историю оригинальной игры.
  • Post Pacifist/Neutral/Genocide — события происходят сразу после одной из концовок оригинальной игры.
  • Sans-centric — все главные герои — это Санс.

Ну и три типа историй, отличающихся от сюжета оригинальной игры не только событиями, но и настроением:

  • Noble Bright/Neutral/Dark — преимущественно светлые истории, обязательно оканчивающиеся хэппи-эндом. Название зависит исключительно от завязки. Если в сюжете изначально нет ни конфликта, ни чего-то плохого, то это Bright. Если же в начале происходит что-то страшное, то это Dark.
  • Neutral Bright/Neutral/Dark — то же самое, что и Noble, только в конце нас ждёт не хэппи-энд, а нечто более пессимистичное.
  • Grim Bright/Neutral/Dark — истории, в которых всё заканчивается плохо и безрадостно.
  • Serious — просто очень реалистичный и приземлённый тон.

Есть ещё парочка ответвлений, которые держатся особняком. Зачастую они исследуют серьёзные темы: суицидальные настроения, наркотическую зависимость, сексуальный абьюз и тому подобное. Называются они Fell и Horror. В историях этого типа персонажи проходят через немыслимые психологические или физические страдания.

Теперь, когда мы знаем основы терминологии фанатского сообщества, можно приступить к рассказу об одних из самых интересных альтернативных вселенных.

Inverted Fate

В каком виде существует: комиксы и анимация.

История в настроении Noble Bright начинается сразу после неудавшегося рана пацифиста в оригинальной игре. Демоническая форма Азриэля побеждает главного героя и как ни в чём не бывало пускает время вспять. Однако что-то идёт не так, и в итоге шесть основных персонажей главной игры меняются своими профессиями — но не личностями. Например, Андайн становится гиперэнергичной учёной, а Альфис — трусливой защитницей подземного царства. Папирус меняется местами с Сансом, а Асгор — с Азриэлем.

В итоге новые приключения главного героя в подземелье получаются совсем не похожими на предыдущие: основные события полностью меняются, а похождения героя-одиночки превращаются в неплохое подобие бадди-муви. К компании героя присоединяются старые-новые члены, а основной конфликт оказывается перевёрнут с ног на голову.

Образы Санса и Папируса с изменёнными характерами

Автор рисунка — Dorked

На первый взгляд концепт может показаться достаточно простым, но автор с никнеймом Dorked отнёсся к нему со всей серьёзностью. Меняются не только основные персонажи, но и большинство второстепенных: любимец публики Меттатон, например, превращается в любителя аниме и открывает клуб обожателей людей.

Однако не обошлось и без совершенно нового персонажа — офицера подземной стражи Бассире фон Дой III, выступающей в роли антагониста. Она грубоватая вояка, цель которой — убить главного героя и сместить Альфис с должности начальницы рыцарей.

Изменённые Андин и Меттатон Автор рисунка — Dorked

Публиковаться альтернативная история начала в 2016 году в виде веб-комикса на сайте tumblr. Автор продолжает сюжет до сих пор, постоянно вводя новые ситуации и придумывая небольшие забавные сценки. Для комикса он даже написал собственную музыку — её пользователь слышит прямо на сайте во время чтения.

Пару лет назад Dorked выпустил очень качественную часовую (!) анимацию, посвящённую важной арке комикса. И пусть она выполнена в стиле серии Ace Attorney, то есть показывает судебное заседание, для фанатского проекта это весьма недурно.

Inverted Fate сформировала вокруг себя очень преданное фанатское сообщество, которое активно публикует собственные фан-арты, анимации и фанфики. Совсем недавно на Youtube-канале Dorked’a начала выходить анимационная версия комикса, выполненная в стилистике игры. В общем и целом история получилась очень добрая и необычная.

Magitale

В каком виде существует: рисунки и рассказ.

Написанная в тоне Serious история поведает о вселенной Undertale, в которой не существует монстров. Вообще. Происходят же события спустя пять лет после пацифист-рана оригинальной игры.

Вместо монстров мир подземелья населяют существа под названием маги (Magi). Маги — это те же люди, но с врождённой способностью использовать магию. В процессе взросления их внешность мутирует под воздействием их моральных качеств и решений. Простые люди же потеряли связь с магией из-за того, что слишком сильно стали полагаться на технологии. Маги изучали свои способности очень быстро, и люди вскоре начали беспокоиться, что такими темпами те станут в разы сильнее и будут опасны. В итоге беспокойство переросло в войну.

Маги было куда меньше, поэтому вскоре их победили и сослали в подземелье. Самый могущественный маг среди людей создал барьер, который навсегда разделил два мира. Однако каким-то образом один ребёнок попадает в мир изгнанников — так начинается почти ничем не отличимая от сюжета оригинальной игры история.

Больше всего эту вселенную от остальных отличает, пожалуй, основной конфликт. Здесь маги, в отличие от монстров, — изуродованные проклятьем волшебства живые существа. То есть все персонажи подземелья когда-то были неотличимы от простых людей.

Однако самое удивительное в случае с Magitale то, что в основе этой альтернативной вселенной лежит лишь один текстовый рассказ, проработанные зачатки лора… и больше ничего. Но это не помешало некоторым фанатам крепко ухватиться за неё и нарисовать множество отличных артов, а сюжет проработать в подписях к ним.

Flowerfell

Хоть по некоторым артам этого не понять, но Фриску в этом таймлайне больше восемнадцати Автор рисунка — 绘C

Flowerfell — это альтернативная вселенная в настроении Neutral Dark. Основное отличие заключается в том, что каждый раз, когда главный герой оригинальной игры погибает, таймлайн перезапускается. Фриск оживает, но из его тела вырастает цветок, приносящий нескончаемую боль. И чем больше цветков, тем страшнее мучения.

Все персонажи вселенной — очень жестокие монстры, которые не стесняются избивать или и вовсе калечить Фриска. Несмотря на издевательства, Фриск остаётся пацифистом и никого не убивает, смиренно перенося все лишения. Единственный, кто в курсе перезапусков вселенной— Санс. Он уже несколько раз убивал Фриска, но в итоге осознал, что своими действиями только повторяет цикл, и решил помочь ему дойти до конца истории.

В основе истории Flowerfell — попытки разорвать круг смертей. Начинается всё с того, что Фриск умирает от руки Ториэль, пытаясь покинуть её жилище. Возродившись со всеми воспоминаниями и цветком на теле, он снова и снова пытается покинуть дом, но раз за разом погибает от руки Ториэль. В очередной итерации она неожиданно разрешает ему пройти дальше, но это вовсе не конец мучений Фриска: теперь ему суждено несколько раз умереть от рук Санса. На повторяющихся смертях от рук всё новых персонажей строится весь сюжет.

Создатель Flowerfell, tumblr-художник Siviosanei, в первую очередь хотел исследовать проблемы людей, только-только вступивших во взрослую жизнь. Их ждёт множество случайных и опасных встреч, а некоторые новые знакомые будут по-настоящему плохими людьми. Правда, ближе к логическому завершению своего проекта Siviosanei совсем перестал заботиться о сообществе фанатов и удалил оригинальный блог, где постились новые главы комикса.

Видимо, Flowerfell нашёл отклик в душе подрастающих фанатов Undertale. Люди следили за ним, так как видели в новом образе Фриска самих себя. Шутка ли, у фанатской анимации Flowerfell более трёх миллионов просмотров на Youtube. А у французской адаптации — два миллиона.

Что уж говорить об огромном количестве фан-арта и даже полноценной фанатской визуальной новелле: она вкратце пересказывает сюжет комикса, а сыграть в неё может любой желающий.

Underswap

В каком виде существует: комиксы, рисунки, музыка, игры.

Автор рисунка — PURI

Underswap написан в настроении Noble Bright. Его создателю под ником p0pcornPr1nce просто захотелось взглянуть на любимую игру под немного другим углом. Если в упомянутой выше Inverted Fate персонажи менялись местами, но не личностями, то здесь всё наоборот. Андайн превратилась в застенчивую учёную на службе отважной и жестокой царицы Ториэль, а Альфис стала олицетворением отважных защитников подземного царства и главой местных рыцарей.

С точки зрения сюжета и истории Underswap не так уж сильно отличается от оригинальной игры. Однако он подкупает не тем, что автор перетасовал личности основных персонажей, а тем, как идею подхватило фанатское сообщество. Целая группа людей полностью перемиксовала саундтрек Undertale, причём некоторые треки в итоге набрали более миллиона просмотров.

Эта немного изменённая тема Папируса набрала больше миллиона просмотров

Поначалу каноны Underswap формировались исключительно благодаря авторским фан-артам и кратким описаниям под ними. В итоге фанатов настолько захватила слегка переработанная вселенная, что они сделали небольшую одноимённую игру и нарисовали огромное количество собственных иллюстраций. Кстати, у прохождения этой игры на Youtube опять-таки более более двух миллионов просмотров.

К сожалению, оригинальный авторский блог с комиксом по альтернативной вселенной удалён. Но на просторах сети осталось несколько подробнейших документов со скрупулёзным описанием мира и каноничными рисунками.

И вот тут начинается что-то действительно необычное. Фанатам Underswap и другой, более жестокой Switch-Up вселенной Underfell стало тесно в рамках своих сообществ, и один из них, пользователь tumblr Zizzy, решил всё объединить — получился Swapfell Red. Эта вселенная выдержана в тоне Neutral Dark и комбинирует в себе элементы обоих таймлайнов. То есть, понимаете, фанаты стали придумывать кроссоверы уже для собственных миров.

Swapfell Red — это жестокий и необычный комикс, который возводит в абсолют самобичевание, как Flowerfell, и меняет персонажей местами, как Underswap. Единственное, что его отличает — это очень качественно нарисованный комикс. Если наткнуться на него, не зная ничего об оригинале, его вполне можно спутать с хорошими веб-манхвами.

Удивляет и уровень проработанности лора. Объяснены не только личности персонажей, но даже их внешний вид. В принципе, Underswap можно считать поворотной точкой для всего сообщества Undertale: с момента его появления в 2018 году увлечённые люди стали совершенно иначе рассматривать феномен фан-артов по игре. Ведь теперь нарисованные кем-то персонажи могли оказаться не просто «вариацией на тему», но полноценной личностью в собственной глубоко проработанной вселенной.

Errortale

В каком виде существует: комиксы, рисунки, анимации, музыка, игры.

Эта вселенная в настроении Grim Dark сильно отличается от остальных. Она была создана ещё в 2015 году пользователем TheCrayonQueen и развивалась очень своеобразно. Изначально автор презентовал аудитории персонажа по имени Error. Внешне он выглядел как Санс, вот только всё его тело покрывали слова «error», а сам он смотрелся как отзеркаленный в негативе персонаж, только более цветастый.

TheCrayonQueen предложил людям задать Error’у вопрос, выбрал из всех самый интересный и нарисовал ответ. После череды ответов всё зашло очень далеко: выяснилось, что Санс похитил Error’а из вселенной Underswap, пока насмерть сражался с Underswap-Папирусом… Да. В итоге из-за активного вовлечения сообщества сюжет так сильно запутался, что объединил в себе не только все вышеописанные параллельные вселенные, но и многие другие.

Вот ради примера краткая история Error, а вы попытайтесь уследить за логикой происходящего. Error — версия Санса из вселенной Aftertale, которая рассказывает о событиях после геноцидной концовки оригинальной игры. В ней чудом выживший Санс решает любыми методами остановить главного героя с помощью силы решительности (determination, если вы играли на английском).

В итоге он случайным образом отправляет себя в мир Бездны, где живёт Гастер — сверхсекретный персонаж оригинальной игры. В попытках найти выход Санс полностью теряет свой рассудок и становится одержимым местью существом. Отныне его единственная цель — убить главного героя. Он меняется внешне и окутывается визуальными глитчами, а затем вовсе начинает ненавидеть всё живое, независимо от того, кто перед ним — монстр или человек.

Дальнейшая история целиком пропитана жестокостью: физически и психологически страдают почти все персонажи. Например, Error похитил Underswap-Санса и оставил того вечно мучаться в Бездне без малейшего шанса на спасение.

Фанаты умудрились увести сюжет так далеко, что даже сам автор порой не совсем понимает, какой арт следует презентовать следующим. Главное, что созданная ими мультивселенная мультивселенных очень далека от завершения, а фанатские игры, саундтреки и анимации уже собирают миллионы просмотров и рождают тысячи фан-артов.

Однако Errortale — это лишь малая часть фандома. Несмотря на популярность, она остаётся достаточно обособленной в фанатских кругах.

Если вам кажется, что кроличья нора на этом моменте привела нас в тупик, то вы ошибаетесь.

HELP_tale

Созданная пользователем Reddit KillerTheCat в настроении Grim Dark вселенная впервые появилась на просторах сети в 2015 году. В определённый момент фандомов стало так много, и у всех сформировалась такая обширная фан-база, что KillerTheCat взбрело в голову объединить абсолютно все альтернативные миры в единую мультивселенную. Даже Errortale и Underswap, которые сами по себе мультивселенные. В итоге получился умопомрачительный микс.

В истории HELP_tale автор пытается предположить, что случилось бы, окажись все персонажи из всех вселенных в одном месте в одно время. Не выдержав такого наплыва, общая вселенная схлопывается, и рождается нечто совершенно новое — место, в котором все персонажи живут вместе, но без воспоминаний о своём прошлом в предыдущих итерациях.

Монстры преображаются в существ под названием ITs. Внутри себя они удерживают десятки абсолютно разных душ, что в итоге извращает их натуру и делает их куда более жестокими и бескомпромиссными. Сама вселенная HELP_tale постоянно прыгает между различными версиями одних и тех же персонажей. То есть одним телом в разный момент времени могут управлять совершенно разные итерации личности.

Образы обновлённых персонажей ужасают: достаточно взглянуть на слившихся воедино Санса и Папируса.

Если вам кажется, что этот совсем краткий рассказ о лоре параллельной вселенной превратился в кашу, то ничего страшного. Просто сами фанаты вскоре начали наслаивать одни идеи на другие, пытаясь отыскать для себя нечто оригинальное в лоре, который изначально не был рассчитан на такую степень проработки.

Уследить за логикой событий практически нереально. Однако это не мешает фанатам создавать всё новые и новые рисунки, анимации, игры и перемиксованные саундтреки.

Рассказанное в этом материале — лишь верхушка айсберга. На самом деле фанатских вселенных по Undertale десятки, если не сотни, и почти у всех самых крупных есть своя преданная фан-база. Люди создают свои анимации, игры, пишут рассказы и рисуют арты.

Все эти мультивселенные — это яркий пример того, как фанатам становится мало оригинальной игры и лора. При этом они искренне желают видеть больше контента по любимой вселенной и начинают придумывать и воплощать в жизнь самые невероятные идеи.

Сейчас, пожалуй, можно сказать, что многим ярым фанатам уже и не нужен оригинал. Они бесконечно наслаивают мультивселенные на другие мультивселенные, а сообщество благодаря этому растёт и развивается. Появляются по-настоящему интересные небольшие игры и музыка. Возможно, спустя несколько лет Undertale станет первой франшизой в истории видеоигр, фанаты которой давно забыли о том, откуда появилась очередная мультивселенная.

CYF 0.6.6 — LTS 1

With the new Long Term Support thing going on, bugfixing versions should come rather often! So as promised, here’s CYF’s first LTS version!

Fixes and additions

  • Removed the 1.5x cap on Player overheal
  • Fix Misc.ResizeWindow() not applied to the Game Over screen
  • Fix fonts not loading on Mac and Linux
  • Removed Cropped Fullscreen button
  • Fixed cropped screen on startup if CYF was closed in fullscreen
  • Fixed CYF going windowed if it was closed in fullscreen
  • Broadened audio file & font system to allow fetching resources outside of the current mod
  • Fix text objects not wrapping automatically if [instant] is used as one of their first commands
  • Added LTSversion variable

The renewal

. it’s been a while, huh. The last CYF version was released exactly 23 months ago, almost two years!
I’m sure at this point many thought there wouldn’t be a new version of CYF, but here we are!

This version’s goal is to add elements on top of CYF 0.6.5, making mods from that version fully compatible with mods made in it.
So, if you see any difference from this new version that may break a past mod, please feel free to tell me so!

On top of this, you can consider 0.6.6 a LTS version of Create Your Frisk! LTS means «Long Time Support», meaning updates for 0.6.6 will come in to fix bugs I may have left in the version, even if new versions will be released!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you’re upgrading from any past version of CYF, please copy the new Default AND Mods folders over your current ones.

Major Changes:

  • Enemies can now be manipulated in battle! You can add and remove them in the middle of battle!
  • CYF’s user interface is now more flexible than ever! Say hi to the new UI object, that allows you to manipulate CYF’s UI to your heart’s contents.
  • I’ve heard File object manipulation was a little barebones, so I broadened its usefulness: you can now manipulate any file you want in CYF’s Mods folder!
  • Dusting sprites always looked a little weird, as you were unable to keep the rotation of a sprite when it’s dusted, same for their scale and color, and finally the dusting effect would always appear on top of everything! Well, now it takes care of all that!
  • Arena manipulation outside of waves is now a thing!
  • Some projects tend to go above and beyond CYF’s capabilities, and sometimes CYF looks a little cramped, we can say. So now, you can change CYF’s window’s size! And it works in fullscreen too!
  • Always wanted to add new states to CYF’s battles? No? Well too bad, now you can lol

There has been a huge amount of fixes as well, other there has been too many to properly list them, really, so I won’t be listing them this time! Sorry about that!

Throwing off some shade

So I heard people around these parts have been waiting to use shaders and stuff in CYF.
It’s a thing many people asked for for a very long time now, but it’s something we can’t really add easily in a Unity project.

Major Changes:

Reverted the changes made to several audio functions in CYF v0.6.4, because new users did not understand how to use it at all. They will display an error screen if an audio file was not loaded successfully. This includes:

If you still wish to check if the file was loaded successfully, use the Lua function pcall .

The Text Object

Added Text.SetAnchor (NOT Pivot) for simpler use with parenting

Added Text.GetLetters() , which generates a table full of sprite objects you can use to manipulate a text object’s individual letters!

Text objects now call the new Game Event OnTextAdvance when advancing, if possible

The Game Event BeforeDamageValues now can have an argument which represents the amount of damage the enemy is about to take, but before the damage is applied, unlike in HandleAttack

Added the Game Event OnTextAdvance , which is run whenever a text object advances its text, in whatever script it was created in

Misc.WindowWidth and Misc.WindowHeight are no longer Windows-only! They can be used to calculate the amount of pixels that are shown inside CYF, including in wide fullscreen, as well as the level of scaling applied to CYF when being drawn to the window.

The byte editing mode added in CYF v0.6.4 has been replaced with the most direct solution possible. File.encoding has been removed, as well as the «b» file opening mode. In its place are the new functions File.ReadBytes() and File.WriteBytes() !

Added Map.GetName() to the Overworld, used for getting the name of the active map

Added Map.GetSaveName(mapName) to the Overworld, used for retrieving the save point text for a given map

Bug Fixes:

Fixed engine screen resolution being set to 1x1px fullscreen on first launch on Linux (#66)

Properly show an error screen for all XML errors while loading fonts. Up to now, if such an error were encountered, the engine would try to continue battle but with some assets mysteriously not loaded.

Fixed the EncounterStarting function still being called, even if an error occured in a monster script and the battle should have ended

(tried to) Fix «FIGHT»/»ACT»/»ITEM»/»MERCY» buttons blurring on systems with older graphics cards

Fix object buildup when enemies die, or when calling sprite.Dust

Fixed the chance for successfully fleeing a battle actually being 33% instead of 50%

Fixed bug: creating a projectile with the sprite name «Text» (case sensitive) would cause it to parent to the Debugger, and hide and show with it

Fixed dust particles (from sprite.Dust and killing enemies) staying on screen for 1 frame on battle end

Fixed the particles from sparing monsters not unloading

Fixed the player being unable to level up naturally to LV 20 at a battle’s end, even if they reached 99999 XP

You are now finally able to change the player’s stats before EncounterStarting with no issues

Fixed the player being offset based on the camera’s position whenever a game over screen starts (since CYF v0.6.2)

Fixed Misc.StopShake() having no effect (since CYF v0.6.4)

Fixed the hitbox debugger displaying the player’s hitbox in the wrong location if the camera is moved

Fixed the [health:x,y] text command not updating the health bar when used in battle

Fix no error screen showing, leading to engine freezes and invisible monster text bubbles, when trying to load an invalid font in some cases

Fixed the [lettereffect] text command persisting after a line of text in the Overworld and in battle. It now resets to «none» after every line of text.

Fixed [lettereffect] not applying to letters that get skipped over by the player, with the [instant] and [instant:allowcommand] commands, and text.SkipLine()

Fixed [lettereffect] ‘s version of «twitch» taking an absurd 5 seconds (at minimum) for each letter to start twitching, per letter

The Bisicle now properly gets replaced by a Unisicle on use (thanks go to @heartlessmushroom on Github/Discord for this fix!)

Fixed a bug where removing bullets could cause future bullets to be missing their mask components, and error when attempting to use bullet.sprite.Mask (since CYF v0.6.4)

Fixed a 1-frame error that happens when an event stops moving during the same frame as the map changing (since CYF v0.6.4)

Fixed the player’s saved play time carrying over to a new game when the player chooses «Reset» on the continue screen (since CYF v0.6.4)

Fixed the Overworld text box being potentially covered up by Screen.SetTone and similar functions, when selecting «Use» on an item in the inventory

Fixed a bug causing the Overworld’s item box UI to display all of its sprites and text only within the 640×480 area at the bottom left corner of any map that has camera scrolling.

Behind The Mask

OwO What’s this? A new CYF release? And it adds file manipulation?! Oh boy oh boy!

Yeah, basically we decided to trust the users a bit more and added a way for modders to manipulate files, as long as they are contained within your mod! Aren’t we generous? 😀

And that’s not all we added! This release comes with a couple of changes that’ll make everyone’s life easier (or make some more stuff possible!), including text scaling, modifiable player stats or even. erm. I guess that’s it for the VERY big changes!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed fullscreen for Mac!
  • Fixed the Mods folder not working properly for Mac
  • Fixed the hitbox debugger in fullscreen
  • Fixed SetButtonLayer not actually setting the layer of the buttons (lol)
  • Fixed not being able to change the player’s properties before EncounterStarting

  • Fixed an oddly specific error (from calling State(«ITEMMENU») from a state in which the default text manager was inactive, like «DEFENDING» or «NONE»)

  • Fixed projectile layers being almost completely broken (returning the wrong name for the default layer, «messing up» the names of projectile layers, not letting you move a bullet back to the default layer)
  • Fixed the player being able to call bullet.sprite.Remove() or bullet.sprite.Dust(. true)
  • Some optimizations to bullet hitboxes and calculations

The Inventory Object:

  • Fixed calling Inventory.AddCustomItems twice removing all items added the first time
  • Fixed the error message for calling Inventory.SetInventory without calling Inventory.AddCustomItems first: it described the wrong problem

Game Over screen:

  • Fixed the text in the Game Over screen being positioned incorrectly
  • Fixed a bug where using [func:x] in the Game Over screen would crash CYF
  • Fixed some overworld functions crashing on call if used when entering a new map
  • Fixed General.GameOver crashing CYF instantly
  • Fixed General.GameOver causing the player to mysteriously vanish
  • Fixed inconsistencies between the Overworld’s playing music track and the game over track
  • Fixed a bug where pressing C to open the menu just before a map fades in will push you back to the previous map

Changes

  • Added a «window scale» option for users with large monitors
  • Playing in Retrocompatibility mode will now enable the DOGTEST items for compatibility with Unitale mods
  • The Player’s hp now acts like an integer in retromode, so mods like Alphys NEO don’t set the player’s HP to numbers like 16.00035
  • Trying to move removed bullets in retromode no longer throws an error, as it «worked» in Unitale

Mod select screen:

  • You no longer have to restart CYF to update a mod’s preview screen
  • The mod select screen now wraps going left and right
  • Rewrote some text in the options menu
  • Fleeing now has a 50% chance to fail, as in Undertale
  • Added a new variable, fleesuccess , which allows you to force the player’s attempts to flee to fail or succeed
  • Added Arena.Hide() and Arena.Show() , which control the Arena’s visibility, without actually removing it or its boundaries
  • [speed:#] now works as intended, instead of typing N characters every 4 frames. See the documentation for details
  • Made [instant] able to be stopped, at which point the text will continue typing
  • Made [instant:allowcommand] work exactly the same as [instant] , but without ignoring commands
    (this is what the Docs have always said this should do, but it never has done this)
  • Made [instant:stop] cancel [instant] and [instant:allowcommand] and resume typing
  • Made [instant:stopall] cancel [instant] , [instant:allowcommand] and Player skips, and resume typing
  • The first argument of Text.CreateText can now be a single string
  • Removed Text.SetPivot , as it was found to not work
  • The UI will now automatically re-position itself to the top of the screen to avoid covering up the player (as it does in Undertale)
  • Added an optional argument to General.SetDialog and General.SetChoice , which lets you choose which side of the screen to have the text box on
  • Fixed some misinformation about Player.Hurt , Audio.PlaySound , script.Call , the Game Events and Special Variables pages, and some of the Overworld pages

Moonsharp (ADVANCED USERS ONLY):

  • Added debug.getinfo (not 100% perfect, but it didn’t exist before now)

20/20 Vision Edition

And another one! CYF is on fire recently with a lot of new versions!

Thanks to @WD200019 and @Windblade-GR01, we were able to stop CYF’s bluriness when it’s used on fullscreen! We continued adding more content to CYF to make it even easier to use for modders and players following the «Quality of Life» vibe of the last update, alongside some notable fixes.

But for now, drumroll, here’s the new stuff:

Changes:

  • Engine:
    • Added an option named «Blurless fullscreen»! It prevents CYF from displaying blurred sprites in fullscreen! (Done by @Windblade-GR01)
    • You can now use both Alt+Enter and F4 for fullscreen!
  • Mod Select screen:
    • Added an Options sub-menu to replace the 4 buttons on the bottom of the mod select screen
    • All option preferences are now AlMighty Globals!
  • Player:
    • Player.Hurt(0, 0) can now stop the player’s invincibility frames!
  • Sprite Objects:
    • Sprite.SetAnimation now takes an optional third argument, that will let you avoid copying and pasting the same folder path for every sprite
    • Sprite.currenttime and Sprite.totaltime have been added, and they function the same as NewAudio.GetPlayTime / NewAudio.SetPlayTime and NewAudio.GetTotalTime
  • Mods:
    • arenasize can now be used to set the size of the arena during ENEMYDIALOGUE
    • NONE has become a state again. Now, to pause the engine, it’s State(«PAUSE») !

    • Fixed text object positions for good! No whammies this time!

The Quality of Life Update

Who’re you gonna QoL? CYF!

That’s right, thanks to @WD200019 and only a tiny bit to me, CYF is now cleaner than ever, with a brand new mod selection UI, and a TON of Quality of Life changes! Because WD actually cares about making things easier while I don’t! 😀

MAIN CHANGES AND FEATURES

  • EXTREME performance increase!! CYF will no longer eat up all your memory when you play mods, and can run as smoothly as Unitale 0.2.1a. No more restarting CYF when it lags too much!
  • We’ve upgraded to Unity 2018.2.13f1, and with it comes better support for Mac and Linux!!
  • We have re-worked the main menu screens! The Mod Select screen now looks a lot nicer, it shows customizeable preview images of mods, it supports browsing with the keyboard, you can’t accidentally wipe Real or AlMighty globals anymore, it remembers your most recently picked Mods and encounters. it’s just so much nicer to work with!
  • Full-screen now works perfectly — it doesn’t kick you out randomly anymore, F4 works for entering and exiting it, and on Windows, the game window no longer jumps around when you exit fullscreen!
  • Cleaned up the encounters included with the engine. Please copy the new Mods folder over your own if you’re transferring mods from an older version, to replace the old engine-included mods. Then, you can proceed to delete the «Title» and «OverWorld Test» (not «@overworld Test») mods!
  • The documentation should now no longer have missing information or weird wording, and it now lists the Lua types for every variable and function!
  • Animated sprites now support skipping forward or backward, speeding up or down, and pausing and resuming with sprite.currentframe , sprite.animationspeed and sprite.animationpaused
  • New text command [alpha:xx] supports transparent text, and text objects can now be moved above or below each other with text.MoveAbove and text.MoveBelow
  • The Inventory object now supports Inventory.AddItem , Inventory.RemoveItem and Inventory.GetType , allowing for very easy adding, removing, and even swapping of items
  • The Misc object now supports Misc.cameraX and cameraY , Misc.MoveCamera and MoveCameraTo and Misc.ResetCamera , which let you move the game camera outside of its normal 640×480 restraints!

MAJOR FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

  • Fixed enormous lag caused by old Mod scripts never being unloaded.
  • Better support for Mac and Linux, including importing the Arial font, and upgrading to a better version of Unity.
  • Fixed F4 not exiting fullscreen mode, and fixed fullscreen mode exiting upon changing scenes.
  • Fixed game window jumping to the top-left corner of the monitor when exiting fullscreen. (Unfortunately, this fix is Windows-only, as this is a workaround for a Unity bug)
  • Added support for slower framerates in the overworld. You should now move at the same speed no matter what! Also, the Player’s walk animation and speed are now closer to Undertale’s, so it won’t feel really slow anymore.
  • Fixed a bug where dying in an encounter entered from the Overworld would crash your game with an error.
  • The pixel-perfect collision system has been MAJORLY optimized. It should now cause much less slowdown than it ever has before!

MINOR FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

  • Fixed a bug where using the ONESHOTEMPTY sprite animation mode created a 1×1 white pixel instead of an empty sprite, when an animation was done.

Text and Text Objects:

  • Fixed a bug where the second line of text and beyond would sometimes be positioned strangely. Text positioning is now 100% consistent!
  • Text objects should now properly allow using SetFont, color/color32, alpha/alpha32, SetEffect and SetVoice on the same frame the object is created.
  • Fixed a bug where [noskip] would not count on the very first frame a line of text was loaded, meaning that button mashing could skip text and potentially skip important text commands.
  • Fixed [next] and [finished] not working in text objects.
  • Fixed Text.DestroyText not actually destroying text objects, instead leaving them lingering around infinitely.

The Misc Object:

  • Fixed the engine choosing the wrong window to act as the game window. You no longer have to restart your computer to fix this, only CYF!!
  • Misc.FullScreen is no longer read-only!
  • Using State(«NONE») now fully pauses the engine. Useful if you want to add a pause button, or just totally disable certain parts of the engine! It even works during waves!
  • For those who like to toy with the engine: encountertext can now be set without going through DEFENDING! Just use State(«ACTIONSELECT»).
  • Replaced State’s often-incorrect «The state X isn’t a valid state» error message with a better, more descriptive one.
  • Fixed and cleaned the default encounters included with the engine, for good!
