I also had the same issue on my machine (Fresh install of manjaro GNOME). This is what I found so far:

I had some problems with the tor service that I fixed by: 1: Reinstalling the tor package | 2: setting proper ownership in the directories /var/lib/tor/ and /var/run/tor/ (The last one didn’t even existed) withsudo chown tor:tor <dir> | 3: Setting RunAsDaemon 0 in /etc/tor/torrc
The script lib/Nipe/CheckIp.pm is throwing a false positive: Everything is up and running, the tor service and the nipe script, and accessing the URL https://check.torproject.org/api/ip correctly displays the IP address from the tor network and indicates that tor is true. Inside the perl script, the http request is returning a 501 http status code

Thanks for your quick response. I tried it again on native Ubuntu 18.04 with some changes suggested by @anomydarklord and it seems to work. Below are the steps to get it to work:

apt-get install libjson-perl libswitch-perl libtest-lwp-useragent-perl

cd nipe
perl nipe.pl install
perl nipe.pl start

apt remove tor —purge «удалить tor и его файлы конфигурации»

тогда делай

apt установить libjson-perl libswitch-perl libconfig-simple-perl libtest-lwp-useragent-perl

затем перезагрузите

когда вы вернетесь, запустите perl nipe.pl install

затем запустите perl nipe.pl start

подождите несколько секунд, затем запустите perl nipe.pl status * иногда это может занять до минуты *

Многие для улучшения анонимность используют VPN. Бесплатные VPN для этого совершенно непригодны, а платные могут сохранять логи, что может сыграть против вас. В этом плане лучше использовать TOR.

Можно использовать Tor в качестве шлюза по умолчанию. Тогда, весь трафик на нашем компьютере будет передаваться через сеть Tor, и отследить нас будет очень сложно. Мы можем сделать это вручную, но ручная настройка отнимет много времени и сил. Куда легче использовать инструменты, которые помогут автоматизируют эту задачу.

NIPE — неплохой инструмент для анонимизации всего трафика в Kali Linux. Данный perl-скрипт позволяет направлять весь трафик с компьютера в сеть Tor, через которую можно анонимно пользоваться интернетом, не беспокоясь о том, что нас могут отследить.

Установка NIPE на Kali Linux

Начнем с клонирования репозитория с GitHub:

git clone https://github.com/htrgouvea/nipe

Затем переходим в каталог NIPE:

Теперь установим библиотеки и зависимости:

sudo cpan install Try::Tiny Config::Simple JSON

Для новичков cpan может показаться странной командой, однако cpan помогает устанавливать пакеты или модули для Perl.

После этого мы можем установить Perl-скрипт NIPE:

sudo perl nipe.pl install

После установки появится сообщение о необходимости перезапуска некоторых служб. Соглашаемся нажав на «TAB» и «OK», затем ENTER.

На этом процесс установки завершен.

Использование NIPE на Kali Linux

Прежде всего, необходимо проверить работу NIPE:

Теперь необходимо проверить наш IP. Заходим на сайт dnsleaktest, чтобы убедиться, что наш оригинальный IP-адрес скрыт.

После применения вышеуказанной команды NIPE перестанет работать.

NIPE делает сеть Tor нашим шлюзом по умолчанию. Таким образом, мы можем анонимизировать всю систему Kali Linux.

Взломать Tor практически невозможно, но, как мы знаем, теоретически возможно все.

I am trying to run your script on arch. However, it fails and just bricks my internet.

During debugging I found that in Start.pm there are the lines

system ("tor -f .configs/$device{distribution}-torrc > /dev/null");
system ($startTor);

The first line already starts tor (as no —verify-config) is specified. Consequently, the second line fails as the required port is already in use (by the previously started tor).

However, even commenting out one of the lines does not make it work under arch.

I have been using for a while, and it seems sometimes it wont connect the first time. The only way i can get it to work is by stop command. sudo perl nipe.pl stop followed by a start command sudo perl nipe.pl start. Repeat it for a few times and it should work.

I’ve installed nipe, and everything went well with the installation. I’ve tried ran the command «sudo perl nipe.pl restart», and it didn’t change the previous ip it gave to me. In a nutshell, it didn’t assign me a new ip. How can I fix this?

An engine to make Tor Network your default gateway.

Summary

The Tor project allows users to surf the Internet, chat and send instant messages anonymously through its own mechanism.
It is used by a wide variety of people, companies and organizations, both for lawful activities and for other illicit purposes. Tor has been largely used by intelligence agencies, hacking groups, criminal activities and even ordinary users who care about their privacy in the digital world.

Nipe is an engine, developed in Perl, that aims on making the Tor network your default network gateway. Nipe can route the traffic from your machine to the Internet through Tor network, so you can surf the Internet having a more formidable stance on privacy and anonymity in cyberspace.

Currently, only IPv4 is supported by Nipe, but we are working on a solution that adds IPv6 support. Also,
only traffic other than DNS requests destined for local and/or loopback addresses is not trafficked through Tor.
All non-local UDP/ICMP traffic is also blocked by the Tor project.

can’t start script after installed / iptables error

hi, nice script but everytime i try to start it i get the following message:

It would be nice to have a status bar / icon in the menu or in the terminal where you can see/ change:

nipe script status ( online green ) ( red offline)
how long it its before the tor changes the node ( countdown timer )
maybe a timer function where you can set / change the time before the node change
what country the the node is located
the function to change the node

Hello, love the concept of this but cannot for the life of me to get it to work properly.

Attempting to get it to run on BlackArch (in VM).

BlackArch repositories do include nipe, but I removed that and grabbed it from the git repositories as your installation instructions say to do. Followed all instructions, received no errors. When I attempt to run ‘perl nipe.pl start’ I receive the error.

If I remove tor and reinstall from pacman repo, tor.service will load and connect just fine. It’s after I run perl nipe.pl install
That tor.service fails to work. I think some setting the script puts into tor is causing it to fail?

Problems with iptables

My nipe is installed correctly. But when I try run it, the terminal shows the following message:
$ perl nipe.pl start

I saw that there is already a closed issue dealing with this exact error message. But I don’t understand the solution. The guy of original issue was using Debian, I’m using Elementary OS (based on Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS) more info below:

Completely Redesign Installation

This script appears to get foreign objects, via plaintext HTTP, using sudo, from your websever, and put them into the user’s conf. This is a terrible idea for a number of obvious reasons.

I strongly, strongly suggest that you come up with another way of solving this problem.

I’m receiving same error on TurnKey-Linux-Jessie

I’ve successfully gotten this tool to run on 3 different machines, just this one doesn’t want to work. I’ve installed also
«apt-get install perlbrew — && curl -L http://xrl.us/installperlnix | bash»

And it’s still not running.

When I run any perl nipe.pl command it gives no output, and when I run: perl nipe.pl status it shows «[!] ERROR: sorry, it was not possible to establish a connection to the server.»

The same issue on ubuntu 14.04 and Kali Linux.

Why perl? would not .sh scripts be better? in code there is the massive use of the system function. would not it be better to run without having to install perl in minimal distros like alpine?

Nipe not working with nmap inside Virtualbox

Expected Behavior

It was expected that nmap returned positive values which is not happening

Actual Behavior

It must be some iptables rules that is blocking the inbound or outbound communications

Steps to Reproduce (including precondition)

Virtualbox in Bridge adapter
Nipple start
nmap -Pn {ip} -p {port} (-Pn since rules are blocking icmp)

the app assumes systemd, which is fine. In that case the «start» and «stop» commands should invoke systemd service commands, and a systemd service unit file should be included.

A related issue is the install script clobbers any existing tor installation without warning the user. Systemd could help with that too

Connection Fails when I start nipe

Hey Guys, I reached out to Heitor, and he suggested I post the thread here. Basically I installed nipe on kali, and when I start it, the working connection fails. I can see tor is running, and if I use the tor browser, it works fine before I start nipe. If I stop nipe, the connection works, but only the tor browser is using the tor IP address.

При запуске сервера возникает ошибка —
В консоли сервера:

А у клиента при попытке входа —
В консоли :

You cannot connect to this CS:GO server because it is restricted to LAN connections only.

Ошибка:

У меня подозрения на порты, хотя вроде все что нужно открыл.
У меня открыты:
UDP: 3478,4379,4380,27000-27100
TCP: 27000-27100

Возможно я забыл какие-то порты.
Или проблема совсем в другом.

Ещё хочу отменить что на аналогичном сервере с подобной настройкой всё работает отлично.
Единственное отличие в том что на этом стоит vesta с фаерволом .
И мне кажется что именно он и виноват.

Здравствуйте, есть один проблемный компьютер, который не соединяется с vpn шлюзом через SSL vpn. Точнее я заметил, что если на комп не устанавливать приложение polar flow sync то все работает. Но все равно хочется разобраться, т.к удалить приложение для синхронизации часов нельзя. При попытке установить соединение через VPN, появляются последовательно два сообщения об ошибках:
Сообщение №1

Код:

The VPN client was unable to modify the IP forwarding table. A VPN connection will not be established. Please restart your computer or device, then try again.

Сообщение №2

Код:

AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again.

При этом в логах windows пробегают сообщения об ошибках anyconnect с eventid кодами 1, 2 источник Engineering Debug Details

Вобщем не знаю что мешает соединению, подскажите как подружить Polar Flow и Cisco AnyConnect?
PS Заметил что с PolarFlow ставится Bonjour, может быть это из-за него? Хотя удаление bonjour не помогло…

Нужно отключить Internet Connection Sharing
Пуск -> Выполнить -> services.msc
Службу Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) -> Отключено
