1) I have read that there is a solution that it works probably with OCC 7.3. So does anybody have download link for windows 0.19 with OCC 7.3 so i can try it?

Hi,

for Information purposes:

OS is WIndows XP Up2Date:
File is: dbghelp.dll, Version: 6.9.0003.113 (debuggers(dbg).080320-1813)

Well is start debugging a newly created process which
calls DbgBreakPoint internally. My debugger application
traps into the EXCEPTION_DEBUG_EVENT (FirstChance)
and then delivers the Exception to a function which should show
details about the exception. The Information should show the Exception
Address, the regarding call thats responsible for it and the Source
Line and Number if available. The helper function behaves like that
and calls this order of functions:

SymSetOptions(SYMOPT_UNDNAME|
SYMOPT_LOAD_LINES|
SYMOPT_LOAD_ANYTHING|
SYMOPT_DEFERRED_LOADS); // successfully

SymInitialize(…) //successfully

SymGetSymFromAddr64(…) //successfully, retuns valid address and
«DbgBreakPoint»
SymGetLineFromAddr64(…) fails with 487, something like accessing invalid
memory space
The handle to the process is vallid and the same one used fo
«SymGetSymFromAddr64».
The second parameter is «lpde->u.Exception.ExceptionRecord.ExceptionAddress»
where
«lpde» is apointer to a «DEBUG_EVENT», third param is «0» and fourth param
is a buffer holding
enough space for «IMAGEHLP_SYMBOL64». So why does the call fail with
«487»,…

I want the Source Line, the exception Module name and the Source file name
to
be shown on my output, which caused the problem,…
My Application comes with a full PDB File containing every information
possible,…

correct size. The type would be IMAGEHELP_LINE64. An ansi only example
invocation could be

where SYM_MAX_LEN is 2000 defined in the Header. You will ask
why SYM_MAX_LEN, because the size of the memory block also is exactly
a size i need for another operation. Even i got more memory as it needs, it
fails.
I also tried a one with a exact memory size as expected, butit failed too.
I think it is the address i try to use with the call. My application shows
you this.

Are you processing the first breakpoint exception?

Here are some notes on how the system/debugger interact during attach.

The system sends a single CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT that represents
the process attached to.
Then, for each thread in the process, the system sends a
CREATE_THREAD_DEBUG_EVENT.
Then, for each dll loaded, the system sends a LOAD_DLL_DEBUG_EVENT.
Then, the system injects a breakpoint instruction into the first
thread in the process to cause it to break when it resumes.
Then, the system resumes all threads in the process and the first
thread executes the breakpoint instruction that causes a breakpoint
EXCEPTION_DEBUG_EVENT debugging event to be sent.
After that any further debugging events are sent using the normal
mechanism and rules.

When the first breakpoint EXCEPTION_DEBUG_EVENT is seen, signal the
aedebug event and allow the debugee to continue. The debugger will then
get an
EXCEPTION_DEBUG_EVENT for the exception that is unhandled.

AC doesn´t start races

hi there,

so I m playing AC for PC since a Year and yesterday I tryed to start a race after a break since 2 month.

i used the Content manager as always and a say «go» and he imidediately say «race cancelled». i thought the content manager was broke and tryed the normal game but same problem. (orginal car and track, no mod) (all other mods = off)

i reinstalled the game to a diffrent HDD, deleted the AC folder in my Documents and updated my graficcard. pls help i dont know what to do anymore, first time AC dont work.

I’m no expert on these things but have you tried doing an integrity check on Steam? That will look at your game and download any missing files. Any mods should remain intact but you can do a backup beforehand if you so wish.
Right click on Assetto Corsa in Steam, click on ‘Properties’, then in the menu pop up, select ‘Local Files’ tab and click on ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’.

I had this problem on Content Manager before, but I never got problem with the base game. The integrity check will maybe help, but you may have more serious problems in the background.

I don’t know much about this either, but it sounds like something is corrupted. One thing that sometimes works in other games, is to create a new profile with a different name and see if you can race. If it does, you can just delete the corrupted profile and make a new one.

Did you try to remove the assetto corsa folder from «My Documents»?
Back it up somewhere safe and remove it. A new one will be made when you start the game (I think). It’s worth a try and you can always just put the original back if it doesn’t work.
Also, the errors keep referring to address 64. You are not trying to run in force 32 bit or something?

Just throwing some stuff out there. Try everything you can think of. If you did a fresh install of AC, then the corrupted file(s) must be somewhere else… the folder in My Documents or possibly your registry or something.

My gut feeling on that would be missing exe. Check your antivirus software hasn’t decided to quarantine the one of the exes and if it has restore it and add an exception.

nope, its there. i can start AC without content Manager. i coose Track and car, push «Start», getting the loading screen and after a few seconds i´m back in the menu to choose track and car..

aaand i dont use any antivirus software.. ^^

Yes it comes with a windows update. Maybe there are some problems with protected files now. Also deactivating UAC will make no difference. We search for a solution via CM.

Surely something related to the 1809 update …. as I don’t encounter this problem yet.
Using the hardest option in Win10 Pro ( semi-annuel …in french )
… seems to still avoid this 1809 update until now… as I’m still with 1803 version.

Ever since Windows 10 1709 royally screwed my system, I have stuck religiously to 1703. You can download the .iso for 1703 still. Install it and then get a program called WUMGR, it overrides Windows Update and lets you hide feature updates so they never bother you again. As far as I’m concerned 1703 was the last new(ish) build of Windows 10 that was fully stable.

Certainly worth a try. I mainly use 1703 as I use a lot of older programs and they didn’t work properly in 1709 when Windows Update forced it on me. Once you get 1703 up and going, get a program called WUMGR. It overrides Windows Update and you can choose to hide any feature updates that it finds. I’ve been running 1703 for years and have barely had any issues except for those I’ve caused myself when trying to be clever.

Just try 1 thing:
Rename «AssettoCorsa.exe» to «__AssettoCorsa.exe» (which is just the launcher) and rename «ContentManager.exe» to «AssettoCorsa.exe». Then CM will act as AC’s offical Launcher. You will see that «Replacement» is selected as Starter in CM: Settings->ContentManager->Drive

Ive been working on a scenario, a modified version of the Red Lightning scenario shipped with the game, and I keep hitting a problem. Ive made some modifications to the map, and I was getting an intermitant crash. However, its become more more serious after ive further modified the map to include more detail. Which makes me wonder, is it possible for TOAW to have an out of memory error? I took the stock scenario which was crashing irregularly, updated with the new map, now it crashes much more regularly. Anyone have any suggestions?
The error codes are here, if anyone wants the scenario to try it, I can up that too. Ive tried the suggestion in the ‘try this before reporting a crash thread’, but still no joy.
