Если после установки игры и первом запуске игры на монитор было выведено следующие окно:

(это оффициальный сайт Nvidia , никаких вирусов там нет)

Установливаем скачанный файл и запускаем игру.

If after installing the game and first run of the game on the monitor was displayed the following window:

Then go on skylge: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html
(this is the official Nvidia site , no viruses there)

Set the downloaded file and run the game.

So many people get an error that their AGEIA physx thing could not «init».
You could be wondering what the ♥♥♥♥ that is, but more importantly you should wonder how to fix it.

Took me ages to find a fix, but i finally found a really easy one.

This stuff might look cody and complicated but it’s really as simple as it can get, don’t worry

The problem:
You probably have a PhysX System Software 9.12.0613 installed, because that’s what we deal with nowadays.
I tried removing it manually, removing keys because it constantly told me i already had a newer version installed etc, but here’s the final solution:

There’s a thing called «chocolatey».
You simply enter a line of code in your windows command prompt (cmd.exe) and it will augment it, after that you will only need to enter «choco install xxxxxx» lines from the website and it will automatically download and install certain things, so you don’t have to deal with those pesky «you already have ♥♥♥♥ installed» messages that are not true.

Step 1: Getting chocolatey
http://chocolatey.org/
Just go to that link and follow the guide.
Basically you open your cmd.exe and you copy and paste the following:

@powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -Command «iex ((new-object net.webclient).DownloadString(‘https://chocolatey.org/install.ps1’))» && SET PATH=%PATH%;%ALLUSERSPROFILE%chocolateybin

Now let it do it’s thing and it should tell you that it’s installed properly.

Step 2: Using chocolatey to install the Physx legacy driver (the old one we need).
http://chocolatey.org/packages/Physx.Legacy

Simply close cmd.exe after installing and restart it to be sure it’s working correctly, then just enter «choco install Physx.Legacy» without quotes.
It should install just fine, after that you can close cmd.exe and run frontlines.

Hope this works for you guys, the other methods i found didn’t work for ♥♥♥♥ or were poorly described.

Why do i have to downgrade physx for this game to work O.o lol

If you do install the legacy driver some newer games ie Metro and some others dont particularly like it and will give you worse performance. it seems like nvidia doesnt prioritize the correct version of physx when you install the legacy version. just a heads up

So, when i try to install the good version for my windows 8, the msi file don’t want to work because i was already install.Also my problem was’nt been resolve. (sorry for my poor english. I’m a french guy U_U.)

If I make what you say, I won’t have any problem for my other game ? that’s the question.

would be nice if the developer would fix the game, at the same time not sure why NVIDIA broke backwards compatibility.

Ummm game developer and publisher went out of business years ago. How are they going to fix anything? The current owner of the game can do nothing with it as they do not have source code or master server code nor the ability to do literally anything with this game other than collect money for selling the game here and there.

This game will never be fixed or developed any further than it currently is. It was a pain just to get servers onlne, that sit empty daily.

ich habe das Problem, dass immer, wenn ich FFoW starten möchte folgende Fehlermeldung kommt:

ERROR! Unable to init AGEIA PhysX (TM)! Please make sure you have AGEIA PhysX (TM) System Software installed

Nascar 2014 und andere Spiele, die PhysX benötigen laufen problemlos?!

Selbes Problem. Den legacy driver zu installieren bringt bei Ati Karten auch nichts. Vor dem Update auf Windows 8.1 lief es glaube ich noch. Jemand ne Lösung?

Same problem here. No luck with installing the legacy driver. I have an Ati card. Prior to the 8.1 Windows update it worked i guess. Anyone?

Добрый день всем, кто решил вспомнить старые добрые, но столкнулся с проблемой наличия видеокарты от Нвидии и остался без поддержки движка AGEIA PhysX.

Данное руководство актуально для владельцев видеокарт от АМД (карта автора ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650) на ОС Windows 7.

Если запуске игры или воркшопа (редактора карт) вы получаете ошибку, требующую от вас переустановить игру, но с большой вероятностью вам это не поможет, так что переходим к следующему шагу:

Program files -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Joint Task Force

Ищите там установочный файл PhysX_2.5.1_SystemSoftware и запускаете его, после чего возможно два варианта — он устанавливается и вы можете играть, либо он выдает ошибку, говоря что у вас уже установлено данное ПО, в этом случае необходимо сделать зайти в:

Панель управления -> Программы и компоненты -> Удаление или изменение программ

Ищите старую версию программы, которая когда-то могла установиться у вас с другой игрой или если вы до этого пытались установить её сами, но с сайта Нвидии, в моём случае именно так и было, программа называлась Nvidia_PhysX. Удаляете его.

После чего попробуйте ещё раз запустить установку PhysX_2.5.1_SystemSoftware из папки игры (Program files -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Joint Task Force), скорей всего у вас на этом этапе все будет хорошо, но если нет, возможно стоит перезагрузить компьютер и попробовать ещё раз.
