Ошибка майнера NBMINER CUDA ERROR: OUT OF MEMORY (ERR_NO=2)

Одна из самых распространённых ошибок на Windows – нехватка памяти, в данном случае на майнере Nbminer, но встречается и в майнере Nicehash. Чтобы ее исправить – надо увеличить файл подкачки. Файл подкачки должен быть равен сумме гб всех видеокарт в риге плюс 10% запаса. Как увеличить файл подкачки – читаем тут.

CUDA error — cannot allocate big buffer for DAG как исправить

Майнингом криптовалют не пытаются заниматься только самые ленивые. Результаты этой работы зависят от вычислительных мощностей компьютера, в частности видеокарты. Каждый день компьютер должен находить все новые данные в виде хэша. Но в некоторых случаях пользователи сталкиваются с ошибкой CUDA error – cannot allocate big buffer for DAG. Как её исправить, вы узнаете из этой статьи.

Ошибка не обязательно происходит при майнинге. Пользователи могут столкнуться с ней и при работе с графикой. Особенно часто она встречается тем, кто работает с видео редакторами. Преимущественно появляется на ОС Windows 10. Рассмотрим их решения более подробно и определим несколько методов её устранения.

Для чего нужен файл DAG

DAG — это определенный блок данных, который используется при поиске элементов блокчейна в сети. Он построен на алгоритме Dagger Hashimoto. Добываемая валюта — Ethereum (Эфириум). Но есть и другие монеты в этом алгоритме. Например, Whale, Ubiq, Pegas, Dubaicoin, Musicoin, Soil и другие. Когда пользователь запускает сам майнер, DAG должен загрузиться в память. Более точный его размер — 1200 Мб. Со временем он способен увеличиваться в размере. Этот феномен называется смена эпох.

Каждой смене таких эпох соответствует свой размер файла. Количество занимаемой памяти DAG-файлом вы можете узнать по адресу: https://investoon.com/tools/dag_size. Здесь вы сможете узнать размер файла для всех монет на алгоритме Ethash. Смена каждой эпохи происходит примерно 1 раз в 10 дней.

Впервые проблемы с файлом DAG появились еще в 2016 году зимой. После смены нескольких десятков эпох, размер увеличился до 1.7 Гб. Использование данного алгоритма на видеокартах с 2 Гб видео памяти стало невозможным. Но в некоторых ситуациях проблему все же можно было решить.

Способы устранения ошибки

Проблема встречается в Windows потому, что операционная система требует для резерва около 750 Мб видеопамяти. При обычных операциях в видео процессоре эта память не занимается. Но со временем роста размера файла DAG, возникает ошибка CUDA error – cannot allocate big buffer for DAG.

Данная ошибка появляется все чаще на устройствах с видеокартой, которая имеет встроенную видеопамять — 2Гб. Файл DAG, который упоминается в тексте ошибки, требует от системы сплошного буфера. Этот буфер должен иметь размер чуть более 1 Гб. И вроде бы должно хватить видеопамяти, но система упорно выдает ошибку. Некоторым пользователям удается исправить эту проблему в Windows при помощи ввода нескольких команд. Прочитайте также эту статью. Она может быть полезной. Иногда получается устранить при помощи только одной — setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100.

1. Откройте командную строку и введите команду, которую видите выше;
2. Если это не помогло, введите весь список команд, который видите на скриншоте;

Если используется Linux для майнинга, воспользуйтесь другим списком команд;

Другие способы устранить ошибку

Если предыдущими методами решить проблему с видеокартой не получилось, попробуем увеличить файл подкачки Windows. В некоторых случаях эта рекомендация должна её решить.

1. Выберите «Пуск» внизу рабочего стола и нажмите пункт «Выполнить» или нажмите одновременно 2 клавиши — WIN+R;
2. Введите следующую команду «control system»;
3. В появившемся окне необходимо выбрать строку «Дополнительные параметры». Она находится слева вверху;

I have currently a mining box (Windows 10) composed of four GTX 1660S (6GB), I just got a GTX 1650S 4GB so I have added it on that box and launched lolminer 1.28a mining ETH.

At launch I got following msg: GPU 1: Error when allocating memory or building DAG. Disabling card

GPU 1 is the GPU that I just added, the GTX 1650S, the other GTX 1660S are mining fine.

So I tried to fix it by updating lolminer to the latest version: 1.34 and to update Nvidia driver (496.13) as well, the problem is still there.

If anyone have any idea how to solve it, please help thanks.

You are not able to mine with the 1650, because ETH needs mininum 6Gb. that’s why that happening. But with the 1650 you can mine ETC or ERGO or BEAM. That will work without problem, just run 2 instances.

Add in EXTRAPARAMETERS=—devices 0″ for ETH
Add in EXTRAPARAMETERS=—devices 1″ for ETC/BEAM/ERG of the 1650

Could you share a photo?. Just to check is not an OC problem, if appears in Red it is normally an extrem memory OC or offset

are you on windows? Windows reserves some amount of memory on the GPU for itself, so a 2.8GB DAG might not fit on a 3GB card once windows and various apps take 0.3GB or so

Hi! Sorry for the late response but the power supply dude tricked me up and i lost a bunch of time but here i am again! Now with a rx560 4gb from MSI with polaris bios mod and a tiiny overclock i got another problem… the gpu boots fine with lolminer 1.31 mining etcash with 13.70mh/s with a tdp of 43W but my hashrate drops to 0 and my gpu 0 crashes… can you guys help me ?

Your problem is the BIOS Mod. that could made to crash the GPU. it shouldn’t be other problem. You can also add extra voltage to the core

Help with lolminer. Only 2 GPUs work!!

Have GPUs and work well for 70 hashtags wirh ethermine! But only 2 work! If I add more memory error happens wirh the DAG file. How do I get multiple GPUs to run full and not reduced hash rate! Here’s what my miner says!

Can`t Support 10+GPUs? GPU n: error when allocating memory or building DAG. Disabling card. #1293

I have a 12GPUs rig, 3090 x 10 and 3060Ti x 2, running on lolMiner1.45 Win10.
When I use all of 12GPUs, next problem was happened
GPU n1: error when allocating memory or building DAG. Disabling card.
GPU n2: error when allocating memory or building DAG. Disabling card.
2GPUs was disabled, the n1, n2 was random.

When use 11GPUs, same problem happened, 1GPU(random) was disabled.
When use 10GPUs, no problem, it all work at well.

Anyway, the GPUs over 10+ cannot be used. is lolMiner not supported? Or is it a problem with my setting?

I think you should increase the Virtual Disk . That could be the problem. Also try to see at the start if something is allocated in the GPU. but normally is that you will need a higher Virtual Disk. Or just change to Linux and that problem will be removed. Using like MMPOS or HiveOS
