Error in device matching intel

This is my PC spec.

OS version : 1709

OS Build : 16299.248

I’ve used RST but at some point the RST service stopped working.

I can’t re-install it.

When I try to install RST on my PC, an error pops up.

«This platform is not supported»

In preparation to move a RAID 1 to a larger drive, I was trying to install the latest driver of Rapid Storage Technology

and received Error in device matching. I had checked prior to the install that I had qualified components which for the

HPxw8400 were listed as an Intel 5000X Chipset and a 6321ESB I/O Controller Hub.The PC only has a matched set

of 80GB SATA II drives which is why I need to replace them for more storage.Perhaps I’m making too far a jump on versions

as the unit currently has the older Intel Matrix Storage Manager option rom V5.6.2.10.02. If anyone has an idea or solution it

I have Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 [Version 24.20.100.6194] Dated: 20-06-2018 & an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX [Version 30.0.14.7212] Dated: 13-09-2021 installed on my Windows 10- 64 Bit OS .

I have received an Intel® Graphics – Windows® 10 & Windows 11* DCH Drivers [Version 30.0.100.9864] Dated: 8th September 2021 . But the issue is, that while beginning to install, it shows an error which is as follows:

Something went wrong.

Your system has a driver that is locked to manufacturer specifications. Please try downloading the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website to update.

Please provide a solution to this ASAP.

The following error message appears when you try to install Intel® Graphic Drivers:

This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

Why are you seeing it?

The error message can appear for multiple reasons:

  • You have an external video card in your system. Some motherboards disable the integrated graphic chipset of the processor when an external video card is installed; check if the Intel® graphic chipset is visible in device manager.
  • You have the wrong driver for your Intel® Graphics Controller. Identify your Intel® Graphics Controller first before manually downloading the driver for your graphics controller.
  • The driver and the OS version don’t match. Example: you can’t install a 64-bit driver on a 32-bit Operation System.
  • You don’t have Intel® Graphics.
  • The Intel® Driver & Support Assistant can’t update the driver. Installing a generic Intel® Graphics Driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver can cause technical issues.

How to fix it

Note Save time by using the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to identify your system configuration and automatically update your system with the driver you need.

Most issues with graphics driver installation can be addressed using the Troubleshooting Wizard for Intel® Graphics Drivers. See below for further troubleshooting options.

If you have the wrong driver:

To see which graphics driver you need, first identify your Intel® Graphics Controller. Then, manually download the driver for your graphics controller.

If the driver and the OS version don’t match:

Example: you can’t install a 64-bit driver on a 32-bit Operating System. In this example:

  • Go to Control Panel >Systems and Security >System. Under System, the system type is listed as either a 64-bit or 32-bit OS.

After properly identifying the system type, install the correct 64-bit or 32-bit graphics driver. First identify your Intel® Graphics Controller to check which graphics driver you need. Then, manually download the driver for your graphics controller.

If you don’t have Intel® Graphics:

Contact your system or motherboard manufacturer for information on BIOS settings.

If Intel® Driver & Support can’t update the driver:

Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

This ASUS x99 system has the three drives in the signature below and IRST14.5.0.1081 installed but I have not installed RAID. Samsung Magician v2 suggests in the «comparability» section that the IRST driver be upgraded. The ASUS site goes not list an upgrade but I did d/l a newer driver, v15.2.0.1020 from Intel.

This driver will not install. There is an executable version and an inf. Neither gives any joy. Using the update driver inf requires a reboot but no install.
More interesting is that the exe reports » this platform is not supported». Here is a small part of the log where the error is found . I can post more log.

Maybe the fact that ASUS does not list the file means this board does not support higher drivers ? But then why would Samsung recommend it ?
I thought upgrading would be useful since the current IRST interface does not list the NVME drive as I thought it should.

Best I can see is that they are only supporting the 100-series chipsets in v15 and newer.
So for the X99 it look like the latest is 14.8.0.1042

Fortunately, that’s false.

If you have your storage controller set to AHCI in the bios, the driver will not install. It doesn’t detect the RAID controller unless it’s set into RAID mode.

Whether this is a bug in the installer or intentional because iRST isn’t necessary for an AHCI setup, I don’t know.

Whether this is a bug in the installer or intentional because iRST isn’t necessary for an AHCI setup, I don’t know.

Unfortunately I can’t answer that for you as I currently have a RAID in both systems and switching it to AHCI would break it.

If your OS install is on a PCI-e drive, I believe you can swap the SATA controller mode without issue so long as they are only data drives.

If the OS is on a SATA drive, I am not sure. I don’t think it would affect it in that case, either.

Be careful either way.

Edit: Thinking back to when I faced this same issue, I had my OS on a SATA drive and I just swapped to RAID mode to install and then swapped back without any issues, IIRC.

installation of WIN10_64 — Step_1 drivers fails

When installing the WIN10_64 — Step_1 driver as an Administrator (or not), the process fails with error:
«The requested operation failed, A system reboot is required to roll back changes made»

Looks «WIN10_64 — Step_1 driver» folder name causes this problem.
Please move entire «WIN10_64» folder to Desktop then try to install driver.

In most cases, installing the Intel® CherryTrail-T driver goes smoothly and turns out to be a success.
In your case, please follow the steps below to check for your UP board
1. Back to bios, and restore defaults
2. The driver package re-download again
>> To UP-Board
>> To UP-Squared

Aspire ES1-512-26SJ — Touch Pad not working — no driver available

I have a Aspire ES1-512-26SJ out of the box and installed Win 8.1 OS.

After that I went through the device manager and installing all the driver for the «unknown devices» from the Acer support page. After that I notice that the touch pad is not working at all.

The Acer support side for ES1-512 driver does not list any touchpad driver. For the ES1-511 driver from Synaptic and Elan are available. I downloaded both and tried to install but the touch pad doesn`t get working.

After a call with the Acer premium support, I downloaded the latest driver version from the Synaptic page. Unfortunately, the installtion was aborted.

So, I would be happy to get any guidance how to get my touch pad working.

FAQ & Answers

In Device Manager/Mice and other etc. does it show PS/2, any driver for the touchpad, default microsoft driver? If it does, uninstall and check delete software, reboot and let Windows install the default driver. If there is nothing there/ Windows fails to install default driver, you may have a defective touckpad or another hardware problem.Usually this is a 8.1 driver problem.

In the device manager only HID conform mouse is listed. The installed driver is a microsoft driver «6.3.9600.16384 (winblue_rtm.130821-1623). Touchpad is not mentioned anywhere.

On the mouse detail tab I found the following hardware-ID´s:

So, I guess that is already the Win 8.1 standard driver. My bluetooth mouse is working fine.

Type System Information in Windows search, click on it and go to Components/input/Pointing Device and see if the Touchpad shows up there. Windows should have easily installed a default driver.

I am not sure whether I understand correctly where I should find this Information.

In Windows PC settingsPC and equipmentMouse and Touchpad: there are only settings for the mouse. Nothing for the touchpad.

In the device manager, I can find the section «Input Device (Human Interface Device)».

There are following entries:

Bluetooth AVRCP Device

HID-conform User control device

HID-conform User control device

HID-conform, from manufacturer defined device

USB Human Interface Devise

Please note that my OS is installed in german and I have to translate all the wording. My translation might not match the wording for a OS installtion in english.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Type «System Information», you will see a link for it in the results, click the link,click Components,click the plus sign,click Input,click Pointing Device and see if the Touchpad shows up there.

However, please note that I received the Acer notebook WITHOUT OS. So there is no Acer recovery option providing all the drivers.

In a other thread with a similar problem I read that the Intel IO driver must be installed BEFORE the Intel Chiopset driver.

The driver «IO Drivers_Intel_603.9600.1948.29470_W81x64_A» from the Acer support page for the 512 is not working. When running the setup, I get am error message that my system is not supported. The intel chipset driver is installed properly.

Some additional information.

There are several threads facing the same issue with different Aspire models. It seems that the touchpad issue occurs mainly with Win 8.1. There was one post having the solution by rest the BIOS settings to default after installing W8.1 in legacy mode and installing all Acer driver. Infact, I am failing installing the Intel IO driver. I tried to install IO driver as listed hereafter without success. The Log file herafter may help to identify the problem.

Intel AHCI Not Available on Z77 Extreme4 Running Windows 8.1

I’ve tried installing AHCI drivers for Intel 7 Series(C216?) chipsets multiple times during the Windows 8.1 install, made sure AHCI is set in BIOS, tried registry fixes to enable AHCI, made sure I’m using the right Intel port (SATA3_0 I believe), disabled the Asmedia ports altogether as I’ve heard I need to be using the Intel controller.

So far every SSD program I’ve tried (Samsung Magician for example) indicates I’m still running in IDE mode and I don’t even see an AHCI driver listed under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. I do see the Asmedia AHCI driver if I enable that controller but the Intel controller doesn’t even show up in generic form.

I’m reaching the point at which I’m wondering if I should just settle for using the ASmedia slot to get AHCI. Any input would be appreciated.

Huh. Seems I’m able to get AHCI just fine in port 3_0A using the Asmedia controller. I’ve seen half a dozen threads saying to use the Intel port/controller though, but Asmedia seems to work just fine without adjustment.

Other notes:

While both controllers are set to AHCI in the BIOS (fully updated) I notice under boot options that when I connect the drive to the Asmedia controller the boot option is listed as «AHCI SAMSUNG PRO 840» or similar, but with the Intel 3.0 port it still says «SATA SAMSUNG PRO 840». Could the problem be with my BIOS? I’ve been working on this for most of 2 days and am thoroughly confused.

You really shouldn’t pre-install drivers unless you need to.
If Windows 8.1 does not see your SSD as a drive to install itself to then yes, you would need to pre-install drivers; if it sees your SSD then just continue the installation and let Windows install its own default AHCI drivers. After the install is complete you can then install Samsung Magician and see if it recognizes that your SSD is in AHCI mode.

Once Samsung Magician sees your SSD in AHCI mode you can then install Intel’s latest AHCI drivers (version 12.8.0.1016).

Page 13 of your motherboard manual will show you where the Intel 6Gb/s SATA ports (SATA3_0 & SATA3_1) are located.

I am already using SATA3_0 with AHCI set through the BIOS.

Per Samsung Magician I am connected to a SATA3 port but have low speeds and am not using AHCI.

Under Device Manager I see the following listed:

That’s strange; the link for those drivers are from your motherboard manufacturer’s website.
Just to verify, your motherboard is a ASRock Z77 Extreme4?

I just checked the receipt and then physically checked the motherboard. It’s definitely an ASRock Z77 Extreme4. So far as I can tell my system is ignoring the AHCI bios setting, booting with the pciide driver instead, and cannot see the AHCI controller once Windows starts.

Does anyone have suggestions for how I might resolve this? Based on the available information I assume the issue is with the BIOS but if so I do not know how to fix it.
