The problem

Successfully configured a HASS cloud project on iot.tuya.com. Successfully added the localtuya repository through HACS. When I attempt to ADD INTEGRATION through HASS, I get the Error 1106 (I have Do not configure a Cloud API account unchecked).

I had the same issue. try using the UID rather than your email address.

@smithbill17

I’m also getting this same issue (see attached LocalTuya integration config page).

I also discovered I had to Authorize my Tuya IoT project for the ‘Smart Home Devices Management ‘ & ‘Smart Home Home Management’ services, otherwise I got an error saying the integration was not authorized to call an API.

@n00bcodr

You would have to get the user ID from Tuya IoT Platform as mentioned in the documentation.

To setup a Tuya IoT Platform account and setup a project in it, refer to the instructions for the official Tuya integration: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/tuya/ The place to find the Client ID and Secret is described in this link (in the «Get Authorization Key» paragraph), while the User ID can be found in the «Link Tuya App Account» subtab within the Cloud project:

I’ve already entered my Client ID, Secret & UID as shown in the image I attached (although blanked out for security reasons). I still get the «Error 1106: permission deny»

Okay — think I’ve figured out where I went wrong. I have TWO projects (one no longer used as previously the official Tuya integration was configured with a UK datacentre & this didn’t work — I had to recreate my project with an EU datacentre). And subsequently, I think the Tuya IoT defaulted to showing me the ClientID & Secret for the older (now defunct) project.

Sorted.

1106 Error — UK/Europe Data Zone issue? #663

Describe the bug
I receive a 1106 Permission Denied error when trying to set the integration up. It had previously worked.

Expected behavior
Ability to connect my Tuya account and devices to Home Assistant.

Home Assistant Version

Additional context
I’m in the UK and have been using the official Tuya integration — the new one where you need a dev account. That was working fine until this morning when the integration showed an error.

I tried restarting with no luck, then removed it and readded. After sticking in the info I kept getting ‘1106 permission denied’ — which is normally a bad password, though I triple checked it was correct.

So I decided to follow the config steps and at the point where I have to link it to my Tuya app by scanning the QR code, my app reports the error:

You cannot scan the QR code to add a device deployed in another data centre.

When I’ve looked into error 1106 further it seems it can also mean this:

Incorrect availability zone: See Availibity Zone and select the correct availability zone.

I also note this warning on the Tuya dev web page:

Please note that data transfer across regions has a risk of violation of the data security regulations. If you request Tuya’s cloud services from an IP address outside the data center region, you are at risk of illegally transferring data. For example, using an IP address in the U.S.A. to access cloud services in China’s data centers will be regarded as data transfer across regions, and vice versa. Tuya will completely prohibit cross-region API calls and message subscriptions. Please deploy your cloud services properly to ensure data security.

Are people in the UK now barred from using the Western Europe data centre?

Ive only noticed this since updating to 2021.11 this morning — not sure if this is a coincidence.

1106 Error #46

I still have 1106 error no matter how many times I check and re-check the configs, all seems to be ok. My access ID was created in June 2021. My devices are already linked and online in Tyua IoT Platform as well.

Can it be because my login is also linked to Apple ID login?

The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:

Hi @geekseanlin ,Sorry for the late reply.
Recently, our team has been sorting out interface issues such as code 2406, code 1106.
The same country code for Tuya SmartLife apps on different phones may correspond to different Availability zones.
Therefore, we recommend that you select all available Availability Zones in the cloud project, and we will improve the plugin login experience as soon as possible.

I have selected everything in Availability Zones but still showing the same error.

What’s CountryCode that you set?

Hi @geekseanlin , Try the endPoint : https://openapi.tuyaus.com Or https://openapi-ueaz.tuyaus.com

@Hanh94 Hi, still having the same error

Hi @geekseanlin , Please show us the log information of TuyaOpenAPI request: And The APP associated with the cloud project is tuyaSmart APP or smartLife APP?

Another option: Cloud project -> device list
To see which region has your device, use that region’s endpoint

This is the request

Initializing TuyaPlatform.
TuyaOpenAPI request: method = post, endpoint = https://openapi-ueaz.tuyaus.com, path = /v1.0/iot-01/associated-users/actions/authorized-login, params = null, body = <«country_code»:95,»username»:»USERNAME»,»password»:»PASS»,»schema»:»smartlife»>, headers =

My region is US in the device list and using Smartlife app

Could it be due to the config of «schema»:»smartlife» ?
The documentation says to use smartLife with a uppercase L (https://developer.tuya.com/en/docs/iot/Tuya_Homebridge_Plugin?id=Kamcldj76lhzt#title-2-Edit%20the%20configuration%20file)

Is it case sensitive ?

If there is any inkling of causation some fellow users may be able to assist in diagnosing?

I tried to change the schema to smartLife but the same result. The only difference I have is — I have also linked to sign in with Apple ID on my smartlife app.

Hi @enjoymj , We note that you failed to log into the TuyaSmart App with this account. Please make sure that your user name and password are correct.

Hi guys, Please check the error code for code 1106.

I signed in with SmartLife app and I have both AppleID linked as well as email. You think this is the issue? I will try to create another account just with email and try.

I signed in with SmartLife app and I have both AppleID linked as well as email. You think this is the issue? I will try to create another account just with email and try.

Yes @geekseanlin , Google or Apple ID email need to link your phone number and use the linked phone number as username to login. Because of this login situation, OpenAPI only verifies the phone number, and our OpenAPI team will optimize it as soon as possible.

Hi @enjoymj , We note that you failed to log into the TuyaSmart App with this account. Please make sure that your user name and password are correct.

Resolved. It seems that I would only need to wait for Tuya admins to grant perms. (which took three days/one working day in my case.)

Hi guys, In version 1.3.0, the login interface is published in all regions. Therefore, you can use the endPoint of any region to log in. After a successful login, the endPoint of the region where the account resides is returned to obtain device information.
Any questions, please contact us.

1106 error about tuya-homebridge HOT 8 CLOSED

Hi, I had the same issue. I managed to fix mine, by entering my email address of the Tuya Account instead of the nickname in the username box.

kareemlukitomo commented on January 16, 2023 1

I solved error code 1106 by making sure that I was using the correct username and password in homebridge-tuya-platform ‘s JSON config.

  1. Intially my password during first registration was [email protected]#
  2. Then I saw in another thead «try remove any symbol from password» so I change my auth.tuya.com account’s password to Password123 . During this step I also bind my phone number to my Tuya account (if that’s somehow needed as well.)
  3. After noticing the 1106 errors with the password: Password123 in the JSON config, I tried putting in my original password in step 1 [email protected]# and somehow it works 🤦‍♂️

I am guessing cached credentials somewhere in server-side. But anyway, that was solved yesterday (on the 10th May). I haven’t tried this plugin again today (assuming the cache may correct itself).

rpodwika commented on January 16, 2023 1

@kareemlukitomo I’ve been struggeling with it for a long time and it seems that you’re right, if there is a special character in the password it doesn’t work. I removed it and suddenly everything works

I checked the device is paired with Tuya Smart App, and then use the device Id in Tuya Smart APP for control; I confirm the Id of the device to be controlled is correct.

asked Nov 10, 2020 at 12:37

Shawn He's user avatar

I tried it a few times with the engineer,there are several situations:

  1. The device to be controlled is not an OEM App created by the developer on the Tuya Open Platform; or the Tuya Smart APP is used to pair the device and then control the device through an interface call.
    solution:
  1. First check if the device is paired with Tuya Smart APP, and then use the device Id in Tuya Smart APP for control;
  2. Then check whether the Id of the device to be controlled is correct and whether it is from an OEM APP created by its own developer account or an APP developed based on the SDK;
  3. In the end, you need to make sure that the device and product created by the OEM APP created under your developer account can be controlled through the cloud-cloud docking API call.
  1. The device requested to be controlled has been removed, restored to factory settings, or re-configured to the network.
    solution:
  1. If the device has been removed, please re-configure the network and add it in the APP;
  2. Re-obtain the device list and refresh the device ids to be controlled.
  1. Interface parameter passing error.
    solution:
    Check if the following parameters are correct:
  1. The device id is wrong. Note that the device id is not uuid.
  2. The area url is wrong. Pay attention to the area where the device is paired. At the same time, call the interface address of the corresponding area.
