- Godox TT600 Flash E-1 error code
5 months 4 weeks ago #741730
by Rudy Silvo
I bought a couple used Godox TT600 flashes and they came in and I just put batteries in them and I keep getting an
E-1 error code. I was told these work, however I didn’t get a manual with these so don’t have reference for this code. Any of you know what might be happening here?

E1 code indicates that the flash recharge circuitry is not functioning correctly. You can power the unit off, and then back on to clear this error, but if it won’t clear, you will need to have it serviced. Getting Godox equipment serviced is still a problem, so replacement is usually the alternative. It would likely cost as much to have it serviced as it would to replace it. These are not high dollar flash units.

Oh man! I hope it’s something easy, literally just bought these and if you are saying warranty is tough on these things, being a second owner would mean disaster!
I will try what you mentioned when I get home today. Thank you so much for the advise!

Godox basically has no service facility in the USA, so sending them to the factory in China for service just isn’t worth it, if it is available. Adorama in New York sells Godox under their house brand «Flashpoint», but I believe that they only service what they sell, as I’ve read comments about this.
After you try fresh batteries, if you still get the E-01 code, I would return them to the seller for a refund. If you bought via a credit card and the seller refuses, discuss the problem with your credit card company. With Visa I have needed to do this two times, and had favorable results both times.
I have five of the Godox TT600 and have used them without ever getting the E-01 code for the past 2 1/2 years, but they were bought new. I always use Tenergy AA rechargeable cells in them because of their higher capacity.
The Flashpoint version of the Godox TT600 is the Flashpoint Zoom R2. You can buy them from Adorama through Amazon, and if an Amazon Prime Member, you get free shipping and no questions asked free returns for 30 days. The Amazon delivery trucks have my location etched in their dashboard (just kidding, but they come here often). If controlling the TT600 or Zoom R2 remotely via one of their flash transmitters, you can buy any version, but to use one of these flashes on your camera hot shoe you will need the version specific to your camera brand. If you buy a flash control transmitter, it will need to be the version designed for use with your camera brand. Godox and Flashpoint offer different versions of these specific to each major camera brand. The camera manufacturers never standardized their hot shoes, so each camera brand communicates with the flash or flash transmitter on the hot shoe differently. Get the version designed to be used with your camera.

- Godox TT600 Flash E-1 error code

Godox tt600 E-1 error code
Nov 4, 2021
1
I use Godox flashes and Godox wireless trigger system. I had used these units for about a year, probably about once a month. A week after using them, and in preparation to use them again, I took them out to test them. To my surprise, two of my four units showed E-1 code, and would not fire.
I had been using Harbor Freight’s Thunderbolt Alkaline AA batteries. I put new batteries in, and got same result. I then tried again with new Duracell batteries, and the units worked fine. I used them yesterday for a project, and had no issues with Duracells loaded in them.
Hopefully this will help others with this issue.

The Canon EOS R8 is the company’s latest mid-level full-frame mirrorless camera. It brings the sensor and autofocus from the EOS R6 II and combines them in a smaller, more affordable body.
The Canon EOS R50 is an entry-level, compact APS-C mirrorless camera. A 24MP RF-mount camera aiming to attract smartphone users and, perhaps, vloggers.

The Canon EOS R50 is inexpensive. It’s tiny. Is it good? Jordan and Chris dodged alligators in South Carolina to find out.
