Starting image

Model_Name: DGS-1210-28/ME
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
Uncompressing Kernel Image . OK

Loading Runtime Image .
Starting kernel .
100%

Download firmware

Успешно прошил в DGS-1210-52/ME 6.11.R035B, после чего в System/Firmware Information выбрал boot up image «Image_id 2», нажал Apply и перезагрузил коммутатор.

1. Обновитесь до ver.6.11.R035B
(Hit any key to stop autoboot)
3. Нажмите «7» для выбора boot up image, затем «1» для выбора boot up image_1.

It is in 10.01.2018. Commits version is 8899d58.
When I use syzkaller/tools/create-image.sh to create a minimal Debian-stretch Linux image, the img cannot boot normally in qemu, which can be normal with old script.

@dvyukov

Please provide reproduction instructions and qemu output.

Debian GNU/Linux 9 syzkaller ttyS0

syzkaller login:

I used the following qemu command line:

qemu-system-x86_64 -hda stretch.img -snapshot -net user,host=10.0.2.10,hostfwd=tcp::10022-:22 -net nic -nographic -kernel arch/x86/boot/bzImage -append "kvm-intel.nested=1 kvm-intel.unrestricted_guest=1 kvm-intel.ept=1 kvm-intel.flexpriority=1 kvm-intel.vpid=1 kvm-intel.emulate_invalid_guest_state=1 kvm-intel.eptad=1 kvm-intel.enable_shadow_vmcs=1 kvm-intel.pml=1 kvm-intel.enable_apicv=1 console=ttyS0 root=/dev/sda earlyprintk=serial slub_debug=UZ vsyscall=native rodata=n oops=panic panic_on_warn=1 panic=86400 ima_policy=tcb" -enable-kvm -pidfile vm_pid -m 2G -smp 4 -cpu host

Perhaps you need some additional kernel config. Try this config:
https://github.com/google/syzkaller/blob/master/dashboard/config/upstream-kasan.config
And if it works, bisect from it to find the missing options in your config.

@balbassam

I had the same issue. After bisecting from the config I found that there are two config options which are needed:

CONFIG_CONFIGFS_FS=y
CONFIG_SECURITYFS=y

I created a pull request to reflect that in the docs #776

@mogrein

I had the same issue. Commenting out configfs and securityfs lines from /etc/fstab worked for me as well.

@tscosine

Not the problem about kernel config, since I use the default defconfig and kvm config, then make -j8 but cannot boot as well.

The real cause of boot error is the missing of two config in kernel .config file:
CONFIG_CONFIGFS_FS=y
CONFIG_SECURITYFS=y

Thanks @balbassam

use latest gcc and linux kernel will handle this problem

I made a mistake that resulted in this error. Following the guide for the x86-64 kernel, I added these to the top of .config after generating the default config:

CONFIG_KCOV=y
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=y
CONFIG_KASAN=y
CONFIG_KASAN_INLINE=y
CONFIG_CONFIGFS_FS=y
CONFIG_SECURITYFS=y

When I ran make CC="$GCC/bin/gcc" oldconfig, these warnings appeared:

.config:3977:warning: override: reassigning to symbol CONFIGFS_FS
.config:4095:warning: override: reassigning to symbol SECURITYFS
.config:4459:warning: override: reassigning to symbol DEBUG_INFO
.config:4501:warning: override: reassigning to symbol KASAN
.config:4507:warning: override: reassigning to symbol KCOV

It turns out that I had to remove lines like # CONFIG_KCOV is not set for each of the added settings. I don’t see why these comments should override my definitions at the top, but it resulted in me getting the error described in this issue because I was actually compiling the kernel without the necessary configs.

⚠️ override: reassigning

How did you resovle it?

@droogie

Mine was failing due to specifically /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc as well…

[FAILED] Failed to mount /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc.
See ‘systemctl status proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.mount’ for details.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Mark the need to relabel after reboot.

I solved this by ensuring that the following was enabled in my kernel config
CONFIG_BINFMT_MISC=y

@Sunxingzhezhexingsun

CONFIG_BINFMT_MISC=y

Thanks! Your solution solved my problem, too !!!
My environment: GCC-9.3.0 linux-4.19.204
I met the error «Failed to mount /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc» while QEMU boot the kernel. And this problem solved after setting CONFIG_BINFMT_MISC=y in kernel .config

  • I’m following this step by step guide here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh825212.aspx

    I’ve installed all the required software in the guide on my Windows 7 x86 machine. I’m using two USB keys, one 4GB and the other 8GB. I’ve tried copy pasting the commands and typing them by hand, both fail with the following error:

    C:winpe_amd64>MakeWinPEMedia /UFD C:winpe_amd64 U:
    WARNING, ALL DATA ON DISK DRIVE B: WILL BE LOST!
    Proceed with Format [Y,N]?Y

    Copying files to U:…
    File creation error — The parameter is incorrect.
    Unable to create directory — U:

    I want to create a PE environment for UEFI (FAT32).

Answers

  • I had the same problem.

    The problem lies with the MakeWinPEMedia.cmd

    After the script partitions and reformats the flash drive, the disk appears offline for about 10 seconds (can be verified if you have Explorer open). This for some reason messes up XCOPY in the way the command is written.

    SOLUTION:

    Open MakeWinPEMedia.cmd using notepad (notepad «C:Program FilesWindows Kits8.1Assessment and Deployment KitWindows Preinstallation EnvironmentMakeWinPEMedia.cmd»)

    REPLACE:

      xcopy /herky "%WORKINGDIR%%TEMPL%" "%DEST%" >NUL

    WITH

      xcopy /herky "%WORKINGDIR%%TEMPL%*.*" "%DEST%*.*" >NUL

    notice the *.* at two places, thats what somehow makes XCOPY wait for the disk to be ready and then copies the files.

Resolution

There are 3 different ways to resolve this issue.

Solution 1 — Change update server

If you are using staticupdates.paloaltonetworks.com and running on PAN-OS 7.1.7, you need to change your update server

Inside of the WebGUI, Device > Setup > Services, change the update server from staticupdates.paloaltonetworks.com to updates.paloaltonetworks.com as a workaround.

Note:  Please be sure to ensure that you are not limiting the device via a security rule to access just the IP address of staticupdates.paloaltonetworks.com — 199.167.52.15 (to be used for connectivity troubleshooting only), If so, you will have to adjust to the new IP/URL:

updates.paloaltonetworks.com — 199.167.52.141 , commit and test.

Solution 2 — Remove updates and redownload them

Removing all the content updates and re-downloading them can also solve this issue.

You can perform this step via the WebGUI inside Device > Dynamic Updates

Delete the updates through the GUI and see if you can run a «check now» and that it downloads the new update.  Then perform the commit and see if it completes without errors.

Via the CLI, please try deleting the content package with the below command and re-download and commit:

admin@myNGFW> delete content update
  <value>  Filename

Solution 3 — Reinstall OS

As a last step, if the 2 other solutions do not help, then you can reinstall PAN-OS on the device.

To reinstall PAN-OS, follow the steps below:

  1. Backup the current configuration.
    Refer to Step 1 in the following document: How to Save an Entire Configuration for Import into Another Palo Alto Networks Device
  2. Reinstall the software, go to Device > Software and choose the desired PAN-OS version, and click Reinstall under Action:
    reinstall software.png
  3. Reboot the device.
  4. Check and Install latest Dynamic Update.

First of all this is not duplicate question and I have tried solutions from other similar threads but it looks like this case is different.

In my case I can successfully install and run other android project from the same emulator (x86 also tried arm) but this particular app project throws following error when installing also manually «adb install» from inside shell do not work either.

One of the error from log below is found (line number 232)
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/system/vold/+/froyo/Loop.cpp

However I do not know if the error «No content provider…» is related to the same error stack.

If it had the write-permission error (sdcard or file system permission like that) then other apps should also not install!

This problematic app is a NDK project with a custom content provider which I tried omitting but no avail. it seems like content provider error is related to apk installation from os and not really the content provider from within the app.

I am tired of testing with a real device, I am worried this would degrade my phones life because I had to do it very often.
