ImgBurn is a very popular DVD/CD burning program that is liked by many users. ImgBurn can burn videos to a DVD disc as well as ISO image files to DVD disc. The program has a pretty clear user interface and is quite easy to use no matter you are burning a video file or an ISO image file. However, when using ImgBurn, we can sometimes encounter some error messages that prevent us from keep doing our work, and the I/O error is one of them. The I/O error is called an Interpretation error and it is caused when Windows tries to read the disc you are burning. Which interrupts ImgBurn and the program stops. Today let’s talk about ImgBurn I/O error and see how to fix ImgBurn I/O error.

Part 1: What is ImgBurn IO error

The I/O error in ImgBurn is called an Interpretation error and it is caused when Windows tries to read the disc you are burning. You can get I/O errors because of several reasons. When you see the I/O error message, then it’s possible that your burner firmware is out of date, or your burner is dying, or your burner doesn’t like the media you are using, in which case you need to try another DVD program like Leawo DVD Creator, or it’s also possible that you need to update your version of ImgBurn.

Step 1: Quit ImgBurn, take out your DVD or CD from your computer, and it’s better if you shut down your computer for a while and then reboot it.

Step 2: Insert your CD or DVD, launch ImgBurn again, then navigate to «Tools», then «Settings».

Step 3: After you click the «Settings», there will be a new window popped up. In the new pop-up window, navigate to the «Write» tag, then find a check box named «Perform OPC Before Write», uncheck the box.

Step 4: After you un check the box, look right, there is another «Options» sector, under which there is a «Layer Break (For DL Media)» option, change the parameter from «Calculate Optimal» to «User Specified», and in the «Sections in L0» box, type in number «1913760».

Step 5: Navigate to «I/O» tag, click «Page 2 under it, and change the «Buffer Size» to 72 MiB, change «Main» to 25% and change «Device» to 50%. After you have done all of that, click the «Ok» button below to save changes.

Step 6: Now you can try burn your file once again. When you are burning your file, remember to change the writing speed to «2X» or «2.4X», and then click the advanced setting icon beside it and go to «LITE-ON» tag, switch «Change For» to «Smart Burn», and then you should be able to fix ImgBurn I/O error.

Part 3: How to avoid ImgBurn IO error

The solution introduced above should work for ImgBurn I/O error in most cases. However, it’s not 100% guaranteed to fix the problem, because the ImgBurn I/O error could be cased by different reasons. If this method doesn’t work out for you, or you want to avoid the error once and for all, it’s suggested that you change your DVD burning program. How to fix the I/O Error

The I/O error is called an Interpretation error and it is caused when Windows tries to read the disc you are burning. Which interrupts ImgBurn and the program stops. Here is an example of the error.

Here is a simple and brief way to fix it. (works 99% of the time)

1. Close ImgBurn and Remove your Cd

2. Restart Your computer.

3. Once booted open up task manager or activity monitor on mac.

4. When it is on again close all unnessesairy programs (ie: limewire, Itunes ect…)

5. Close all unnecessary processes. Such as itunes helper, and all other non — system processes.

6. Open ImgBurn and Insert your DVD-Rdl. (Keep task manager or activity monitor open)

7. Find ImgBurn in processes and right click. Then go to Set Priority —> High.

8. After doing that you should be all set to burn your iso or whatever.

The sad thing about this is, you must do it every time you encounter the I/O error.

This doesnt work,.And I get the I/O error so many times. It’s the 7th disc I lost to it.

Hi there, this issue can be caused by a number of things, but usually it relates to a flaw with burnerMAX FW and how it talks to imgburn (it often happens just after updating the latter)

The fix: Make sure ur AV isn’t hooking anything imgburn is doing… if it’s still happening then re-install the driver (by first un-installing it, then re-detecting thus reseting the IHAS FW and clearing the memory leak or buffer-overflow <eg; from layer-break buffer-overrun>)

Imgburn already has High priority and there’s no other processes running. The I/O error says it’s a medium error.

I fixed the error on my machine by checking «Perform OPC Before Write» setting in Tools/settings/write

Такая проблема: записываю игру на двуслойную болванку, а он мне выдаёт ошибку. Если записываю через CloneCD, то он пишет просто ПРОИЗОШЛА ОШИБКА, а если через ImgBurn, то:

С третьей попытки CloneCD записал диск. Записывал на сокрости 2x. Но вот проблема, когда вставляю диск в главном меню пишется не ЗАПУСТИТЬ «НАЗВАНИЕ ИГРЫ» (Наруто новый), а просто ВОСПРОИЗВЕСТИ DVD. Когда запускаю, он мне показывает логотип XBox и всё. Если нажать какую-нибудь кнопку он выдаёт мини-меню, будто я смотрю фильм (воспроизведение, стоп, пауза и т.д.). У меня не та прошивка или я что-то сделал не так? Хотя делал всё по инструкции (http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435442) ((((
Ну так если у тебя ошибка на этапе записи, то проблема либо в том, чем записывает, либо в том, на что пишет. Если болванки и образы нормальные, то остается только привод, по-моему. Лично я писал ImgBurn-ом на 4-ой скорости всегда. Образы всегда проверял abgx-ом перед записью. Всё было ок.
Вероятнее всего дело именно в болванках. Нужно использовать плюсовые Verbatim — и будет счастье.

Записал на Mirex программой CloneCD, но он мне всё равно выдаёт логотип XBox и если нажать какую-то кнопку внизу появляется «меню» в котором можно ВОПРОИЗВЕСТИ, ОСТАНОВИТЬ, СДЕЛАТЬ ПАУЗУ и т.д.
Может есть руководство, как записывать ImgBurn? Просто на рутреккере руководство есть, но у меня более новая версия ImgBurn и там настройки немного отличаются ((((
DEM90, пиши КлонСиДи. без проблем пишет. лично записывал штук 100 игр. и мирексы и вербатимы и левые китайские болванки, все работали на боксе.

1. 2. Если проверяешь исо с помощью abgx, то abgx сама создаст или исправит файл .dvd. В этом файле просто информация, какой образ записывать и где делать layer break. Т.е. даже в настройки лезть не надо, чтобы выставить layer break. Дальше всё просто. Выбрать файл — не сам исо, а .dvd, выставить скорость и писать. Я еще выставлял бук тайп на DVD-ROM, на всякий. Это иконка с книжечкой. Писал на Вербатим +ДЛ.

Если в процессе записи не было ошибки подобной той, что ты указал в первом посте, то тогда поздравляю — твоя прошивка привода ниже требуемой. Метод лечения: использовать Activate Iso (тыЦк) или перешивать привод более свежей прошей. И пожалей привод в ящике, не подсовывай ему всякое гумно IMHO, типа Mirex’a.

z1rc0n, у него PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D — нормальный резак (у самого такой, ток перешитый в L).
или пропатчивать новые перед записью

иногда прогоняю agbx, а пишу всегда клономСД, качественные болванки все пашут а дешовые пробовал так из 5 дисков токо 1 играет, лучше юзать качественные: Verbatim, Arita, Datex…
