Не ставится любой Linux

Судя по логу проблема в ненормальности носителя с которого происходит установка. crc/md5sum сверял?

Сорян. Железо в школе «топ» пень 2, оперативки 1гб. Видяха не помню к стати какая сейчас комп далеко

Кмк стоит начать с дистров подревнее. Типа xubuntu 14.04.

Значит либо не читает либо ищи причины дальше сам ибо «kernel panic not syncing no working init found» в вольном переводе значит «Паника ядра. Не найден init«.

Да и вообще, возможно стоит записать на цд, т.к. древние компы не очень хорошо умеют с usb грузиться.

лорчую этого регистранта, причём cd-r и желательно 650мб, т.к. видимо и привод если есть, то такой же древнючий

На древнее железо попробуйте https://antixlinux.com/ , чуть поновее (в смысле железа)от того же разработчика https://mxlinux.org/.

Antix , требования к железу :

antiX should run on most computers, ranging from 192MB old PII systems with pre-configured 128MB swap to the latest powerful boxes.

antiX-core and antiX-net will run with 128MB RAM plus swap, but don’t expect miracles!

192MB RAM is the recommended minimum for antiX. 256MB RAM and above is preferred especially for antiX-full.

antiX-full needs a 3.8GB minimum hard disk size. antiX-base needs 2.6GB and antiX-core needs 1.0GB. antiX-net needs 0.7GB.

Ubuntu не загружается дальше initramfs

Пользователи, которые любят экспериментировать со своей операционной системой время от времени сталкиваются с ошибкой загрузки, когда система выводит приглашение ввода BusyBox с initramfs. Эта ошибка означает, что ядро не может загрузить корневой раздел, та файловая система, к которой у вас есть доступ из этого режима не имеет ничего общего с вашей системой. Это содержимое образа initramfs, которое содержит только самые необходимые компоненты, используемые ядром для загрузки системы.

В этом режиме будет сложно что-то исправить, но можно попытаться понять где находится причина проблемы. В этой статье мы рассмотрим что делать если Linux не загружается с initramfs. Такой проблеме подвержены все дистрибутивы, но мы рассмотрим решения на примере Ubuntu.

Почему Linux не загружается дальше initramfs

Если вы столкнулись с данной ошибкой, то после нескольких десятков секунд загрузки увидите такое сообщение:

Первое, что можно попытаться сделать в таком случае — выполнить команду exit, чтобы система попыталась загрузится и тогда она покажет вам более подробное сообщение об ошибке.

1. Неверный корневой раздел в загрузчике

В данном случае она сообщает, что не может найти раздел /dev/sda10:

Alert: /dev/sda10 does not exist. Dropping to a shell

Очень часто такая ошибка возникает после манипуляций с разделами дисков, особенно изменения их размера. UUID диска меняется и ядро больше не может его найти. Вы можете посмотреть доступные в системе разделы с помощью команды:

ls /dev/ | grep sd

В этом окружении есть BusyBox, а значит есть большинство утилит Unix. Вы можете примонтировать каждый из этих разделов с помощью команды mount и узнать где находится ваш новый корневой раздел, например:

mkdir /mnt
mount /dev/sda5 /mnt
ls

Вы также можете узнать здесь же UUID данного раздела диска, для этого выполните:

В данном случае, корневой раздел имеет имя /dev/sda5. Именно это имя можно передать ядру в конфигурации загрузчика Grub, а можно UUID, но если в этом нет крайней необходимости, то короткое имя использовать гораздо проще. Надо перезагрузить компьютер, в меню Grub выбрать нужную загрузочную запись и нажать клавишу E:

Далее найти пункт, начинающейся со слова linux и в нём параметр root. Его значение вместе со словом UUID надо стереть, а вместо него прописать имя корневого раздела:

После этого система загрузится, а вам останется только создать новый конфигурационный файл grub с помощью команды:

2. Повреждённая файловая система

Подобная ошибка может появляться также при серьезных ошибках в файловой системе, которые мешают примонтировать корневой раздел. Обычно, fsck восстанавливает файловую систему автоматически, но если проблема серьезная и грозит потерей данных, утилите надо подтверждение пользователя для работы. Тогда система показывает такую ошибку:

The root filesystem on /dev/sda5 requires a manual fsck

Вы можете прямо здесь же попытаться восстановить файловую систему. Для этого выполните:

Здесь /dev/sda5 — это корневой раздел, его нужно заменить на свой. Опция -y указывает утилите, что на все вопросы надо ли исправлять блок нужно отвечать утвердительно. После успешного восстановления надо перезагрузить компьютер и попытаться загрузить систему снова.

Mint 19.3 installation media boots from usb ok. LM 20 installation media boot fails to the error message (Initramfs unpacking failed: Decoding failed)

I have verified LM20 iso against sha256 sum.

This error was raised in the beta, but not as an issue preventing the live iso from booting at all.

I’ve just doublechecked booting the stable live ISO on both my machines and it boots fine albeit the error does show in journalctl output when run just after booting the live session.

It might be worth you experimenting with a different USB stick or using different USB ports.

Mint 20 on a Mac Air, upgraded from latest Mint 19 version a week ago, Running as Mint 20 only, removed Mac OS years ago.

This morning laptop started acting wanky in the browser and links would not execute on clicks and was asking me to log into things that should have already been signed into.

Decided to do a reboot and. initramfs unpacking failed

I tried everything mentioned in this post. I could get to grub and a few other very limited command/menu areas, but calls were very limited. No matter what I did, after a reboot everything was back to the way before I made the changes.

Wound up booting from Mint 20 install USB. Tried to make the changes and after reboot, same thing, no matter what I did, no change were actually written to the drive just like before booting from USB.

The question I have to ask, is Mint 20 Stable?

Should I still change the compression method for initramfs?

When the laptop boots, the first few screens flash quickly with garbage on them, as it did before the crash. In Mint 19 the screen were readable but too fast for me to read them.

As the title says, I’m getting the following error whenever I boot my system:

I’ve also checked my /etc/mkinicpio.conf file and it gets me:

So I guess the compression I’m using is the ‘gzip’ default, which shouldn’t be a problem

Although this annoy me quite a bit, my system continues to boot normally, so it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Other (maybe useful) informations:

Dunno what does that mean neither. Would appreciate if someone explained.

I’m using Gummiboot and, as you may see on the journalctl ouput above, my .img files are not located directly on /boot but on /boot/Arch (I’ve changed accordingly on my linux.preset, so I guess there is no chance I’m getting an out-of-date .img issue)

The first thing I would do is try to rule out a hardware problem.

@TheSaint Well, I didn’t mean to cause the wrong impression but I originally thought of it as an error since it shouldn’t happen. If you prefer it’s more like a warning, I guess. I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear by the title, but I thought it was clear that I could boot from my initial post

@WorMzy Checked my disk and got nothing wrong:

Couldn’t use memtest86+, though. Do you know how to use it on UEFI?

Anyway, tried some remaking of the initramfs varying my compression and it seems to work fine now. Thanks all you guys

Хера себе. На таком же даже WinXP будет еле ворочаться.

Честно говоря, тебе далеко не все дистры подойдут. Лучший вариант — Gentoo, собранная на другой машине. Если нет возможности — Debian с IceWM. Но чуда не жди. ИЗ браузеров — PaleMoon ещё как-то работает на подобном.

Попробуй старые убунту. Типа 10.04. Или вообще 8.04. Только толку от того, что ты их поставишь? Новый софт все равно не станет.

В таком случае придется забыть о браузерах.

Поищи на развалах интернета какой-нибудь ASP linux версии 7.2. Лет 15 назад я таким пользовался на компе с подобными характеристиками.

данунафиг. у меня на третьем пне дома стоит девуан. правда, ядро там не последнее, а 3.2. я думаю, что можно и более свежие ядра накатить, просто мне было лень возиться с конфигурацией в данном случае.

а для старых компов c гуём вполне подойдёт Slitaz.

он служит файрволлом и домашним сервером. уже дофига лет. если бы не отключения электричества иногда, он бы годами без перезагрузки пахал.

С какого устройства ставите? Если железо старое, то нужно или с сидюка, или с флешки с fat16 на борту.

С какого места? Форматируете флешку, создаёте на ней fat16, записываете на неё образ дистрибутива. Я всё это в rufus-как его там делал. Я тоже пару вечеров мучался, вылезала похожая ошибка при установке Mint’а на старый ноут с турионом на борту. Тоже прошерстил немало форумов с теоретиками, пока где-то не вычитал данное решение. Попробуй, может поможет. Более чем уверен, что это именно оно. Попытка проверить займёт не более 5 минут.

Или я вопроса не понял? Не знаете, что такое fat16?
Суть в том, что мальчики и, видимо, девочки, собравшиеся здесь, не очень знают, что старые биосы на могли грузиться с новых для тех времён файловых систем. Для них fat16 пустой звук, поэтому даже не думают в ту сторону.

Про обновление биоса уже сказали. Что за процессор? На эту мать P-II не встанет, сокет не тот (775)

Поставить ubuntu 16.04 с 4.4 ядром, лёгкой DE (xfce/mate) и mitigations=off в параметрах загрузки ядра. Будет более-менее работать (скорее, менее, конечно)

Винт дохлый?

С дохлым винтом initramfs не получилось бы прочитать ещё на стадии загрузчика. А тут уже ядро грузится, значит initramfs уже в RAM. Скорее тут памяти оперативной не хватает на распаковку в tmpfs.

@Xamik, у инсталляторов современных дистров initramfs обычно довольно жирный. Я бы попробовал установить систему с другого компьютера (с бОльшим количеством оперативной памяти), просто подключив диск через контроллер USB2SATA/USB2IDE.

Хотя да, на втором пне XP не помню. На третьем летала, и с куда меньшим объёмом памяти.

[SOLVED] Initramfs unpacking failed

I recently tried to install a package from AUR, but ever since then, I’ve been unable to boot into Arch. It says that the AST compressed data may be corrupted. It also says that it’s unable to mount root fs on unknown-block. I’ve since tried updating the system from an install disk with pacman -Syu, but the issue persists.

Which package? What do you mean you tried to install it? Did you install it?

Were you arch-chrooted when you ran pacman -Syu? Mount your partitions, arch-chroot into the system and run

in case something got corrupted.

How do you boot? Do you have Windows installed? If so, is Fast Start disabled in Windows?

It was a Droidcam package from AUR.

Now it said that several things were corrupted. Whether I say yes or no to removing the items that it said was corrupted, it always comes back to me saying that no packages were upgraded.

I believe it is disabled.

Instead of relying of faith and prayer, you can actually look at and change the condition.
(And the 3rd link below if you’re unsure where to look)

Now there’s a lot of text for the packages not upgrading. Are there logs that I can find to copy and paste, or will I need to manually type out the whole thing? Because I imagine the corrupted packages are what’s causing the roadblock.

You can also redirect/tee random outputs

sudo pacman -Syu 2>&1 | tee /tmp/file.txt

And you can feed stuff straight into a pastebin service (see the 1st link below)

For pre-kernel messages (eg. from grub) you can link (don’t embed images) a photo of your monitor.
But whatever you do — do not paraphrase.

The testing repos are all or nothing. You cannot run multilib-testing without also having testing and community-testing.

From there, you need to update archlinux-keyring first.

I didn’t even look at who the errors were about. That’s not an Arch problem, that’s from your 3rd party repo.

It’s a comment. It means everything after it on that line will be ignored. The lines are commented.

Comment the lines for multilib-testing (unless you want to enable all the testing repos, but I would not advise that until you are more experienced).
