Ink and error child

Gradient is a non-canonical ‘ship child’ of Ink!Sans and Error!Sans, and were made by AskComboClub on Tumblr. He’s the oldest son of Ink and Error, and was born within the Omega Timeline.

While he may be considered as an offspring of Error and Ink, he was not biologically made from them; he was made from the remaining debris of a battle between the two. Due to this, it is inaccurate to say he is an actual offspring.

Personality[]

Gradient is both an introvert and an extrovert. When he’s around strangers/new people, he can close up and become somewhat shy and awkward at first. However, once he gets to know you, he will open up, and isn’t afraid to talk about what’s on his mind. He’s a quite perceptive, intelligent, and curious person, with a passion for discovering new things and experiencing as much of the world as he can. Theoretic concepts and thought-provoking conversation and ideas are things that he enjoys thoroughly. Like his dad (Ink), he keeps an AU log. He likes to learn about the different AUs before his other father (Error) destroys them.

He also has the unique ability that whenever he becomes extremely flustered/embarrassed, his form will start to bubble (much like a lava lamp) as his body starts to change from a solid to a liquid.

Gradient can’t help but create, both physical objects and pieces of artwork (Digital scenery, architecture, and pixel art).

However, he is a perfectionist and pays very close attention to detail, which in turn means everything he makes is never good enough or it looks terrible to him. Once he deems one of his creations as ‘hideous,’ he would then try to delete his creation. He also tends to be jealous of other artists’ creations (PJ, most often) and tries to ‘out-art’ them.

On occasion, when Gradient is working on a project and he just can’t seem to get anything right, he ends up ‘glitching out’ out of frustration and destroys the creation. Often when he is alone, he busies himself by attempting to create something new to pass the time.

Appearance[]

Gradient looks very similar to Error!Sans, with only a few key differences separating them in terms of physical attributes; these being different eye/teeth/marking colours, and the fact that said markings are different in shape and placement from Error’s. Otherwise, Gradi is his father’s spitting image- other people often confuse him for being Error.

He wears a black jacket that he almost never wears without the hood on. It has a blue squared-like design which runs around the hood and down the middle (where the zipper would be if it had one). There are lines on both sleeves of a similar colour, which run from the shoulder all the way down to the cuff. The inner part of his jacket is red, as well as the scarf tied around his waist, which bears yellow patterns. He wears a tan-coloured shirt underneath that has a high collar. The sleeves cut off halfway down his arm.

The other articles of his clothing are much simpler, being a pair of long pants and black tennis shoes with decorative yellow lines.

Born from an Ink!Sans that uses polar ink, Gradient is not affected by temperature like Paperjam is. He also has much more Error!Sans in him; his form is more solid, though still not entirely, and thus he cannot change how he looks, like his sibling.

Gradient always wears his scarf tied around his waist, which he uses to carry his art tablet and stylus. Like his father [Error], Gradient has poor eyesight, so he needs glasses to be able to see. Unlike PJ, the plus symbol in his left eye cannot change to any other shape or symbol.

Gradient was created as a result of an Error!Sans and Ink!Sans altercation, very similar to how Paperjam was created four years later. As a result of a long fight with each other, and their magic combining during the fight, Gradient was born. Error!Sans rejected Gradient instantly, the moment that he laid his eyes on him, claiming that he was a mistake- an abomination- and should have never come to exist in the first place, whereas Ink!Sans took Gradient in and accepted him fully as his son. Throughout the years, Gradient always yearned to get his other father’s approval, and wished that he would come to love him and his brothers instead of despising them.

In fact, Error’s hatred- for him, specifically, but his siblings as well- was so strong and intense that he would outright attack Gradient every time that he laid eyes on him. PJ became quickly fed up and disgusted by this and consistently stepped in the way to stop what was going on, which only ended up in both of them being hurt. Gradi always felt responsible every time that he would see to their injuries afterwards, and still does to this day.

Over time it simply became worse, until he nearly lost his life to Error, which was when PJ took him and Bluescreen and fled the Anti-Void, never to return.

Since then, Gradient and his brothers have lived on their own in a Pacifist Timeline that had reached the Surface. He still visits Ink and vice versa, but it’s not very often, since Ink is almost always out helping in the creation and protection of different alternate universes.

Gradient and PaperJam have a very closely knit relationship. After everything that happened to them in their childhood, they always stuck together, being there for one another whenever need be. He practically parented them, given Ink and Error’s incapability to raise children. paper jam is often rude or volatile in the way that they act, and Gradient is the one to bring them back into the reality of things when their emotions get the better of them. Despite being so opposite in their personalities, they balance each other out and work in a very symbiotic way, and love both one another and Bluescreen dearly.

『 Blυeѕcreen 』

Bluescreen is the youngest of the three. Gradient often spends most of his time with Blue, either working on an art project together, playing games or reading stories. Like with PJ, the two of them are extremely close, and honestly hardly ever apart. Bluescreen clings to Gradient like a security blanket, since he feels safe in his big brother’s presence and pretty much idolises him in every way, and Gradient in turn wishes to protect him from the horrors that he knows are out there in the multiverse.

『 Inĸ 』

When Gradient was born, Error immediately rejected him, whereas Ink took him in, and ended up teaching him everything he knows. When nothing is too busy, Gradi sometimes likes to visit Ink in whatever part of the multiverse he happens to be in, and very occasionally it’s the other way around. Despite almost never being there in both his adult life and childhood, Gradient loves his dad dearly and doesn’t blame him for anything that happened. Any moment they can spend together is one that he treasures.

『 Error 』

Error hates Gradient with a burning passion. He avoids him as much as possible, and will never hesitate to attack him if they happen to be in the same place at the same time. He believes that Gradi is nothing but a disappointment and a freak mistake that doesn’t deserve to live. And on the other hand, Gradient wants Error’s love and acceptance more than anything else, even though he knows it will never happen. Despite all of the horrible things that he’s done to him and his siblings, and despite being terrified, Gradient won’t ever be able to truly hate Error.. because that’s still his family.

・Gradient doesn’t necessarily need to sleep because he was born in the Anti-Void, but on certain occasions he will (being physically/emotionally exhausted, stressed, etc.). Otherwise he rarely sleeps. When he does sleep, he has nightmares or ‘sleep terrors’ pretty much every time.・

・When Gradient is tired, he tends to ramble. A lot. (At least more than he usually does)・

・He’s very much a morning person.・

・Gradient doesn’t need to eat; he does mostly as a societal norm.・

・If Gradient were to receive a gift, he would likely be somewhat selfish and not want to share. He would fear that it would be taken away and he would never get it back. (Linking this to how Error hated him and Ink was never around when he was a kid. He doesn’t want something precious, gift or anything else, to slip through his fingers again.)・

・Gradient loves astronomy・

・He also loves music・

・He knows the feeling of loneliness very well・

・He also is somewhat naïve at times. He’s not too familiar with human things or anywhere outside of the Anti-Void, but he’s working on it.・

・Gradient is a pacifist. He does not like to fight. However, if the situation absolutely demands it, and if he is pushed over the edge just enough, he won’t hesitate to protect what he cares about.・

・Even to this day, Gradient longs for Error to accept him as his son. He doesn’t hate him and he won’t ever be able to since that is his dad.・

・He’s definitely not as okay as he seems on the surface.・

・Though, he is pretty unaware of exactly HOW affected by the trauma caused by Error he actually is.・

・Gradient doesn’t believe that someone can come to love him, because he believes that he has so many problems that he just doesn’t see himself as a desirable catch. (His glitching, his eating habits, his anxiety, how he destroys his creations so willy nilly, etc.)・

・Gradient gets jealous of other people’s artwork, and it may come to the point where he wishes to destroy their work. Sometimes he acts on that wish, and regrets it pretty strongly afterwards.・

• According to his creator, she never thought of how many tongues he should have. Many people wanted to know so she did a dice roll and it landed on the number 4. Gradient now has four tongues.
• Gradient has the habit of creating beautiful art, and then destroying it. He doesn’t know why, but he feels as if it was the right thing to do.
• Gradient tends to only do digital art, his art is usually realistic, and and he loves to make cute comics that show his inner emotion and thoughts on things.
• When Gradient was little, he used to take bugs outside instead of killing them.
• Gradient likes to stay up late to draw, he finds the night most peaceful. He usually keeps his window open to feel the cool breeze when he does so.
• If he is not drawing, he is usually reading books, wether that be comic books or ones with chapters.

So here is some of the children of our favorite Sans’. So we have four ships presented today.

First of off here is Reaper X Geno (Afterdeath) (it has goth but idk artist)

Now Ink X Dream (Drink) (are made by This person)

And lastly Blueberry X Error (Errorberry) (idk artist)

OK so now you got the ships. Now here are the children of these ships! (Please know I own none of these characters and it’s probably not canon) So please enjoy!

Paper Jam (PJ)

So first of all… We have PJ! The most well known child of Ink and Error! His appearance is alot more like Error with mostly back with pink and yellow fingers. Yellow teeth, pink eye sockets. But he has ink’s eyes so one of his eyes are a star.

Pj’s personality if mostly mature and responsible. Despite being the middle child he acts the most responsible. There is even an AU where PJ is taking care of a daycare with his siblings! He has powers of both Ink and Error but his creations well… Always look crazy. Out of all PJ’s siblings he is the only one Error has a remote attachment too, whereas ink cares about each of them the same

Gradient

So next off we have PJ’s older brother Gradient! Gradient again looks more like Error with a strong resemblance. Gradient has green teeth instead and a plus on one eye. Gradient doesn’t know much about about earth since he grew up in the Anti Void. But he isn’t scared to speak his mind. He also has powers of both Ink and Error and he always says his creations are hideous before destroying them. Error HATES Gradient. He even attacked him once for visiting without permission!

Bluescreen

So Bluescreen is actually Blueberry and Error’s child. But Error and Swap!Papyrus decided it’s best if he doesn’t know so Bluescreen lives with Ink. Bluescreen is a skeleton with eyes and streaks on his face similar to Errors. He wears a blue T-shirt with a clear vest with white rectangles. His right arm and left foot and blocky. He also speaks in codes that only his family can really understand so not much about his personality is known. Poor Bluescreen can’t touch anyone exept his family without killing them. He often hangs around Gradient who normally tries to boost his confidence. PJ often scolds them if they get in trouble. Error often tells Bluescreen that his power isn’t a very bad thing and it may be good eventually.

Palette Roller

Palette Roller is the child of Ink and Dream. Palette loves drawing likes Ink and is active, kind and sypathetic to people. He has star eyes similar to Dream exept they fade from yellow to blue. He also has a weapon that’s a combination of Inks paint brush and Dreams weapon… It’s a paint roller! Also Palette great friends with Goth

Goth

Goth is the child of Reaper and Geno. Not much is known about his personality but he seems shy and also loves reading. He has a grey T-shirt coved by a white hoodie that he always has on. He wears white shorts a red scarf and white slippers. He has glitches that are normally around her that came from Geno. She is great friends with Palette… Which reminds me…

They are a ship!

*MTT says OH YES* So it started with Goth liking Palette and blushing insanely. Palette eventually started dating him and I would probably just watch the ship comics.
