Ghost internal error 25002

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/0c30ebe3f943d45e882567fd007b167c/8aad19703d2da6a38825666a006594dc?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System CurrentControlSet Control File System .

Thank you. I actually searched Google and Bing for a while, which led me to this handy forum where I spent more time searching but could not find the topic the customers were making. Obviously my improvements in search technology!

I was able to restore the image using the -NTC switch.

However, after clearing some image – adding and removing multiple guides, running Windows Defragmenter in-process during several peak periods of utility operation, including just before Sysprep support and creating from a new image – I still can’t get the rendering recovered if I I do not use the -ntc switch.

All initialization sizes were large (14GB +). In addition, I also created an image with the -SPLIT = 2048 switch (create 7 files), but this image also gives the same error when restoring.

I have often erased data from the hard drive using the HP BIOS Disk Sanitizer and rebuilt the entire system from scratch. Now I can create the image and restore it without error.

Therefore, it must be somewhat damaged in the original know book HD, which was also included. in the following images, which are not corrected by simple hard disk defragmentation, and they are copied over and over in all of the following images.

Ghost has learned to copy everything in HD perfectly, so check your footage beforehand!

Need help cloning 78 Dell Optiplex 380 with Ghost 11.5. Server 2008 with R2, Optiplex image – Windows 7.

I even tried a computer with ghostcast and got the same error. I can also open the image with Ghost Explorer without any error.

Hint without error: Internal inconsistency detected. IF the specific problem persists … internal error 25002 appears after the OK point.

If the latest operating system of the hard disk is Linux or Vista, a fresh installation of WinXP or Win7 will immediately change the system hard disk to dynamic zones. GHOST11 (and above) does not know the dynamic area of the permanent magnet. Settings

This -NTexact parameter means that NTFS will be shared by the recovered NTFS slum with the output volume.

I even tried a computer with ghostcast and got the same error. I can also open the image with Ghost Explorer without any error.

If the latest operating system of the hard disk is Linux or Vista, a fresh installation of WinXP or Win7 will immediately change the system hard disk to dynamic zones. GHOST11 (and above) does not know the dynamic area of the permanent magnet. Settings

    25002 Error

The 25002 error is a problem which will normally occur when you either try and install / uninstall Norton or Alcohol on your PC. The error will typically be caused by your PC not having sufficient permissions, drivers & other issues that your system may have. The bottom line problem is that 25002 error will be caused by your PC not being able to properly load up the settings required to run the installation on your computer. Here’s how to fix the problem for good:

    What Causes The 25002 Error?

This error is basically going to be caused by the way in which Windows cannot process the files & settings it requires to run properly. The error will typically show in this format:

Error 25002: Failed to load navinsnt.dll.

The causes of this problem are basically going to be down to the way in which your PC will not be able to read the files or settings required for the installation to commence. The problems include the likes of your user account not having the correct permissions to run the file, as well as having a series of different issues with the “registry” of your system, etc.

How To Fix The 25002 Error On Your PC

Step 1 – Make Sure You Have The Correct Permissions On Your System

The first step to resolve the 25002 error is to make sure that you have the correct permissions on your system. Many people use a series of different user profiles on their PC, and it’s often the case that your system will not have the correct permissions required to install the software on your PC.

The bottom line is that if you aren’t logged on as an administrative user, log out and then log in again with a user account that has the required rights.

    Step 2 – Fix The Navins95.dll & Navinstnt.dll

It’s often the case that the NavInst95.dll or Navinstnt.dll file will be damaged or corrupted on your system. If this is the case, then you need to make sure that you are able to repair any of the problems which are leading the errors to form – a process that can be fixed by using the steps outlined here:

    • Click “Start” and select “Search”
    • Search for the following files:
      – Navins95.dll
      – Navinstnt.dll
    • When you locate these files, you should rename them to “navinsnt.dll”

Step 3 – Fix Any Corrupt Registry Settings

Another cause of the 25002 error is that there will be some corrupted & unreliable settings inside your computer. These settings are stored inside the “registry” database, and are used to determine how your computer is able to correctly install a program onto your system. You can fix these registry errors here:

    1. Click Start, select Run
    2. In the box that shows, type regedit, and then click OK
    3. In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following registry key:
    4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetContr olFileSystem

    5. Double-click NtfsDisable8Dot3NameCreation in the right-pane.
    6. Next, change the data in the Value data field from 1 to 0.
    7. Exit RegEdit and then restart your PC.
    8. Install Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition client on your computer.
    9. After the installation is complete, change the value ofNtfsDisable8Dot3NameCreation back to 1.

Step 4 – Use A Registry Cleaner Program

    • Download This Registry Cleaner

The “registry” is also a huge cause of the 25002 error on your PC. This is basically a central database which stores all the important settings and options that Windows will require to run, and is therefore an incredibly important part of the Windows system. Continually being used to help your computer run as smoothly as possible, the registry is responsible for everything from storing your desktop wallpaper to your emails. If you want to resolve the errors you’re seeing on your system, you should look to clean through the registry and fix any of the potential problems that it may have. This can be done by using a registry cleaner tool (as shown below):

    Ghost 2003 Internal Error 25002
    Dec 26th, 2007 at 7:51pm

    Howdy.

This morning, I woke up to find that my computer wouldnt fire up. It’s been years since that happened. There was some kind of message about lsass.exe which wouldnt execute. After researching on the internet and reading posts, I couldnt find anything that seemed to work, so I decided to use my three week old (verified) Ghost 2003 image. Ghost has always worked in the past for me.

My computer has XP Pro, 80 G hard drive with four partitions. The Ghost image is on E and my OS is on C partition.

I used a 3.5 floppy to boot into DOS and started copying over the C partition. But Ghost stopped somewhere in the middle and cried Internal error 25002. An internal inconsistency has been detected. My research on that error says that the drive/partition/image file(?) is too fragmented, but I dont think so. Anyway, by now, I dont have any operating system to boot up with. My most valuable files are on D, E and F, however.

My thinking is that I have to rebuild my C partition, but Im not sure. I cant imagine what could have changed, since my computer is the same now as it was when I made the image. I dont think I have a virus, nor do I think my C partition was too fragmented, but what can I do? All my software and Norton AV are/were current. Adaware has recently been run and Spybot too. One thing I can say is that my image wasnt compressed. In the past, Ive compressed it to a medium level, or at least I think I did.

So from this come many questions. I dont know whether to use Ghost again, thats for sure.

    1)      What could cause this situation? Can I repair the trouble? I read things that could have caused the lsass.exe error could be memory sticks (I have 384M) and other things. Could the uncompressed image be larger than the available space?

    2)      If I cant fix it, do I have to completely erase the C partition? If so, how? I dont have any OS to work with. I have f-disk and a Windows boot up disk and have used them before, but only for completely rebuilding the hard drive.

    3)      Could I just pretend that the partition is blank and re-load NT and then XP Pro?

I hope theres a good answer in this.

That always makes your heart sink to your stomach—never a good feeling!

So, the computer fires up, but WinXp loading fails somewhere during the process. And DOS fires up, but Ghost fails somewhere in the process of a restore. Can you run an *Integrity* check on that image—does that *fail* too?

You have had two different OS environments (WinXP from the HDD), and DOS (from a boot floppy) fail sometime after the initial boot—I would be thinking intermittent hardware problems causing a software failure—did you try booting WinXP more than once and always get the same error at the same time? Same question about Ghost—same error at the same point in time?

    Not likely the problem.

Hardware failure would be my first guess. Open up the system and re-seat the memory module. Try a DOS memory test program—

    memtest86+

    .

Test your memory first. You can simply over-write the C: partition with the backup in the Ghost image file—but Ghost has to be working first!

    Quote:

    3) Could I just pretend that the partition is blank and re-load NT and then XP Pro?

The installation routine will over-write an existing install—if you tell it too—but, again, I think your problem is elsewhere!

Let us know how you progress.

Well, the bottom line is that my computers back up and running. I hadnt done anything wrong, but there was something I didnt know.

The way it happened was thus:

As long as Ive had Ghost, there were discussions of flags or switches or whatever theyre called. Since I never used them, and all my attempts at understanding what they were encountered the pious and haughty language of writers who think I should already know what theyre talking about, I had my own set of beliefs as to what they were.

My research on the 25007 error had mentioned a command line of ghost.exe ntc-, but I had always thought these things were for industrial strength masterminds who ran big company computers. And somewhere I believed that I had to determine my wishes when the original install took place. This command had the reputation of forcing Ghost to copy the defragmented clusters (whatever that means) in spite of their being defragmented. The word defragmented caught my attention.

The boot up disk I use has always immediately shown me graphics with no opportunity to vary the order of things, but this time, I made some incursions into options and some other menus I had never investigated. No luck. Then: Something wonderful happened.

My optical mouse is hooked into my computer by a series of jacks and adapters. I dont know why, I just follow instructions. Sometimes, it isnt really making good contact and doesnt get involved in boot up, so, no mouse. And this is what happened. I ended up in the Ghost process with no mouse, and just because I didnt know what else to do, I hit return key. Lo and behold, the DOS screen opened up, and I had, for the first time ever, the opportunity to enter something on a command line. I entered the ghost.exe ntc- command. With my C partition scrapped, I figured I couldnt lose anything.

The A drive floppy started clicking away. I remembered the click of death syndrome, and I almost ejected the floppy. But after many seconds, the screens with which I was accustomed appeared. And all proceeded normally after that. Except that my computer took about four and a half hours to do something that should have taken only about an hour.

So theres the story. Maybe someone will read this and save time and anguish. If I read things correctly, Ghost 2003 shouldnt have this problem, and, by the way, after all of the updates had been installed, I used the Microsoft disk defragmenter in Computer Management to check the level of defragmentation on C, and was informed that the volume did not need defragmentation. Go figure.

I cant believe someone answered my post in less than 24 hours. Thank you Nightowl.

Oh, a long time ago, I used Ghost to save my bacon, and then did a defragmentation check on the resultant C partition. Ghost had completely defragmented the file. Perhaps thats what happens when you use some form of compression to create the partitions Ghost file.

I find Computer Science to be heavily laced with superstition.

    Thanks again,
