Its players have loved the freedom that they can get in building whatever they want to create, explore different worlds and win hundreds on challenges in this game. Minecraft is Mojang Studios’ sandbox game that has nearly 140 million monthly active players as of 2021. Its players have loved the freedom that they can get in building whatever they want to create, explore different worlds and win hundreds on challenges in this game. However, like any other video games that have existed, Minecraft players also experience glitches and bugs as they play; and a good example to this is Game Crash Error: java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception.

java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception is a type of bug that you experience when you play Minecraft. There are several reasons why this pop-up as you play, and this article will explain what this error is, what causes it, and the different ways on how you can fix this.

What is java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception error in Minecraft?

Java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception error is the prompt or a pop-up notification that you will get while you play on a Multiplayer server when you have a high render distance value or when you use the /reload command.

If you have created your own server in Minecraft, or if you have played in a server in the older versions of Minecraft, there is a high chance that you have come across the java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception error. This will prevent your game from loading.

The /reload command

To reload configuration files especially those that work for plugins and the servers that the players use, server owners often use the /reload command. This trick made work really easy for plugin developers, however, as server owners try to use it, they have discovered that they get the java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception error before the entire game crashes.

High Render Distance

To understand this better, render distance is the number of chunks visible to the player in the game. You have the option to change the values for this, but the minimum render distance for any devices is 6 and the maximum render distance is 96. The fewer number of chunks you choose, the faster each frame would be rendered, and the less probability that your game will crash and get the java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception error.

activate Shaders in Minecraft PE

Minecraft is a game that is loved by many. This game has no bounds to expressing creativity. Social media websites have witnessed players replicating monuments like Burj Khalifa, Taj Mahal, and many more. Developed by Majong studios, Minecraft has received many awards as well. Today, we are going to deal with the Minecraft index out of bounds exception.

Synopsis

Minecraft is a world where a player is provided with nothing. However, he can work his way up by building and surviving. The game has boxy graphics but does not fail to impress its audience in terms of gameplay. The concept is also very good. To build something, we need tools. You can make the tools by extracting minerals. You can also build your own house, cultivate food, pet animals, and fight other NPC mobs for survival.

Minecraft Index out of Bounds

The error occurs in the program code. Players have faced that after completion of a map when they try to enter the portal, this error pops up. The result of this error is the new world fails to render. The bug report tends to look complicated for non-programmers. Index out of bounds exception occurs when the program tries to store an amount of data greater than the stipulated size of memory space, namely an array.

Error solution: “Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException:java.”

In this article we will give you the solution to the following Minecraft bug: Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 25, Size: 5

This error usually occurs when playing in multiplayer servers and the steps to solve it are the following:

1- The first thing to do is to go to your web browser, either Google Chrome, Mozilla or whatever you prefer and there we go to the “TLauncher” page. For your convenience here is the link to the official site.

2- Once here in the official site of “TLauncher” we must create a new account, because the error “Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 25, Size: 5” is an error in the account and has nothing to do with your computer or the installation of the game or its configuration. To create a new account you must look for the “Sign Up” button. You must enter a new email and a new password for this second account.You should choose a name that is not too long, as many users also have this problem when the username is too long.

3- Once the new account is created, you only have to open again the “TLauncher” to add the new account, just created. To add a new account you must go to the section that says accounts as shown in the following image.

Add the newly created account and the corresponding password. Save the username and start playing with the new account as the internal exception error will be fixed and you will be able to play in multiplayer mode.

Some users in addition to this step must enter the Aternos page and in “Whitelist” add you to the list of players, for this add the user name of the new account created.

Уже более полу часа не заходит на сервер Classic

Перестало заходить на сервер Classic, при попытке залогиниться на сервере выдаёт следующуюю ошибку:
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(30) + length(1) exceeds writerIndex(30): PooledUsafeDirectByteBuf(ridx:30, widx:30, cap:30)

Hi all. Newbie to Minecraft, which I installed for my son. When installing a 1.7.10 installation and running, the game starts to load then crashses out with the error «The game crashed whilst unexpected error Error: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException».

Current mods in the mods folder:

— LegendOfHerobrine-1.15.2-0.3.1.jar

— mcw-bridges-1.0.4fix-mc1.15.2.jar

— The-Kitchen-Mod-1.7.10.jar (not yet used)

I have removed the 1.7.10 installation and tried to install it again but it still crashes. Other installations seem to be ok. Before I reinstalled 1.7.10 I was seeing a «shutting down internal server» error but I don’t see it any longer. That with the server mentioned in the crash report seems to want to point to some server connectivity issue. But this is just a single player game, we’ve not tried going online or anything.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my crash report:

What’s the issue you encountered?

When client joins a Direct Connect session with a LAN server, the joining client will invariably lose connection with the following error:

Connection Lost - Internal Exception: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(2) + length(4) exceeds writerIndex(4): PooledUnsafeDirectByteBuf(ridx: 2, widx: 4, cap: 4)

The server-side game will remain running and without interruption.

How can the issue be reproduced?

This issue occurs with any Serene Seasons 1.19 mods on any Forge 1.19 version later than 41.0.63 (this includes any Forge versions for 1.19, 1.19.1, 1.19.2). My latest attempt was made with SereneSeasons-1.19-8.0.0.20 on 1.19.2-forge-43.1.1. Using some versions of Forge will only return the «IndexOutOfBoundsException» with no other details (no byte buffer error is shown). For example, Forge 1.19-41.1.0 does this.

NOTE: I have not actually tested any Forge 1.19 versions between 41.0.64 and the highest 41.0.xxx version. Forge 1.19 41.0.64 «broke» a lot of my mods and it took until 41.1.0 for me to get the majority of the «broken» ones working again. I do know that SereneSeasons-1.19-8.0.0.17 worked with 41.0.63 (see «Additional Information» below) and I believe SereneSeasons-1.19.8.0.0.18 was compatible with 41.0.64 up to the highest 41.0.xxx version. Forge 1.19 41.1.0 and higher requires at least SereneSeasons-1.19-8.0.0.19.

Both the server and the client were running preview_OptiFine_1.19.1_HD_U_H9_pre1 mod and SEUS-Renewed-v1.0.1 shader pack, but no other mods, resource packs, datapacks, etc.

A YggdrasilMinecraftSessionService error and a couple of Netty Client IO errors occur in the latest.log file:
[Worker-Main-12/ERROR] [com.mojang.authlib.yggdrasil.YggdrasilMinecraftSessionService/]: Signature is missing from textures payload
[Netty Client IO #0/ERROR] [net.minecraftforge.network.simple.IndexedMessageCodec/SIMPLENET]: Received empty payload on channel sereneseasons:main_channel
[Netty Client IO #0/ERROR] [net.minecraftforge.network.simple.IndexedMessageCodec/SIMPLENET]: Received invalid discriminator byte 109 on channel sereneseasons:main_channel

Additional information

For comparison (and in contrast) to my reported issue, I can connect successfully and without interruption when using SereneSeasons-1.19-8.0.0.17 on 1.19.forge-41.0.63. Both the server and the client were running preview_OptiFine_1.19_HD_U_H9_pre2 mod and SEUS-Renewed-v1.0.1 shader pack, along with 56 other mods.

I am working on a minecraft mod. The id system for EntityC4 is not working. The code is

public static List C4 = new ArrayList();

public static EntityC4 getitemfromnumber(int num)
{
    EntityC4 entity = (EntityC4)C4.get(num);

    return entity;
}
public static void createdetonater(EntityC4 c4, int num)
{
    C4.add(num, c4);

}
public static int getnum(){
     int num = 0;
      for(boolean a = true; a != false;){
          EntityC4 c = (EntityC4)C4.get(num);
          System.out.print("current num : " + num);

            if(c != null)
            {
                a = false;
            }else{
                System.out.print("entity " + num + " is null" );
         num++;
            }
      }
      return num;
   }

And when I use getnum() an error shows up that says

java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0
    at java.util.ArrayList.RangeCheck(Unknown Source)
    at java.util.ArrayList.get(Unknown Source)

EDIT:Ty and the loop was supposed the first non-existent space in the list.

You create a new ArrayList C4, you never put anything in the List, and then you ask it for the element at index 0. This element does not exists since the List is still empty, and it throws an exception.

You can avoid this exception by adjusting your method

public static EntityC4 getitemfromnumber(int num)
{
  EntityC4 entity = null;
  if ( num >=0 && num < C4.size ){
    entity = (EntityC4)C4.get(num);
  }
  return entity;
}

This will avoid the exception, but you will get stuck in your loop since you never find the element (which isn’t available in the list)

C4 is obviously empty if you just call getNum(), thus the exception saying that the index you are accessing doesn’t exist.

You might want to pre-populate the list by calling createdetonater(..)?

Your error is coming from

EntityC4 c = (EntityC4)C4.get(num);

which states your C4 is empty, you would like to do a not null and notEmpty check on your list.

In order to check the reason why C4 is empty do a trace on createdetonater and see where its being called.

Your error message tells you everything: you’re trying to get the zeroth element from a list that has no elements. You probably need to add something to C4,

If you rewrite your loop to use a counter then it will avoid this error. I am not sure exactly what your code is trying to do though (return first non-null instance?), so the loop below may be incorrect.

If you are trying to store a map of ID to entity, then you should probably use a HashMap<Integer,EntityC4> instead.

for(int num = 0; num < C4.size(); num++)
{
    EntityC4 c = (EntityC4)C4.get(num);
    System.out.print("current num : " + num);

    if(c != null)
    {
        return num;
    } else
    {
        System.out.print("entity " + num + " is null" );
    }
}
// throw an exception or whatever else your code should do here...
