Нажав «ОК», затем на вкладке «Входящие» вверху вы можете проверить, насколько увеличен размер текстов, чтобы их было легче читать.
Если установленный размер по-прежнему вас не устраивает, вы можете вернуться в папку «Параметры» и снова изменить значение, соответствующее параметру layout.css.devPixelsPerPx.
Обратите внимание, что изменение будет активно только на том мониторе, на котором используется Thunderbird. Например, если окно Thunderbird было перетащено на второй монитор с другим разрешением, шрифты символов могли казаться меньше или больше.
Как правильно задавать вопросы
Правильно сформулированный вопрос и его грамотное оформление способствует высокой вероятности получения достаточно содержательного и по существу ответа. Общая рекомендация по составлению тем: 1. Для начала воспользуйтесь поиском форума. 2. Укажите версию ОС вместе с разрядностью. Пример: LM 19.3 x64, LM Sarah x32 3. DE. Если вопрос касается двух, то через запятую. (xfce, KDE, cinnamon, mate) 4. Какое железо. (достаточно вывод inxi -Fxz в спойлере (как пользоваться спойлером смотрим здесь)) или же дать ссылку на hw-probe 5. Суть. Желательно с выводом консоли, логами. 6. Скрин. Просьба указывать 2, 3 и 4 независимо от того, имеет ли это отношение к вопросу или нет. Так же не забываем об общих правилах Как пример вот

Мелковато как-то… хотелось бы укрупнить. При изменении масштаба меняется только масштаб в превью… Меня же интересует изменение размера шрифта во всём интерфейсе Thunderbird
Увеличивал шрифт в настройках.
Не помогло. Всё так же мелко…
Подскажите куда смотреть.

«Правка — Настройки — Дополнительно» есть редактор настроек по аналогии как в Firefox about:config

Там есть какой-то непонятный параметр, навевающий предположение, что это из области масштаба:
Но к интерфейсу в общем относится или нет, сказать не могу. Где бы ещё про назначение всех этих настроек почитать пока не представляю. Весь опыт составляет только правка параметров, при которых Thunderbird открывал ссылки не в том браузере, в котором надо.

Всё оказалось куда проще! В редакторе настроек я нашел только
Который менял размер шрифта как раз в превью… Остальные изменения не давали о себе знать.
Однако, поскольку thunderbid — приложение GTK, то изменение шрифта в параметрах системы
дало желаемый результат! Только надо перезапустить приложение для применения.

Not everyone has the best eyesight for this kind of thng and I find thunderbird the best mail and calander client but at least on windows or in browser-mail I can CTRL+ to zoom in and read, it’s at the stage where I might have to use the windows magnifying tool just to see t hings like «inbox» «spam» and my list of emails’ titles.
Please tell me there exists an option to make all this larger like interface size, I mean come on almost every modern software has an option bar slider to increase these things

- Scroll down to the very bottom
- click on ‘Config Editor’ button to open ‘about:config’
It will say be careful 
- In search type: pixels
- Look for this line: layout.css.devPixelsPerPx
- Double left click on that line to open the ‘Enter string Value’ box so you can edit the Value.
The default value will be -1.0
- Enter a new number eg: 1.25 or 1.5 or 2.0 or 2.2
- click on OK
The effect is immediate, so you can modify that number until it looks ok for you.
Please note the default is a negative number, but you need to remove it entirely and retype, so not creating a negative number.

Just click the thumbs up arrow.
But really this is not the location for discussion on the user interface. There is a special list run by the developers of user interface discussions. Perhaps you could put your views on a needed interface forward there. I have wasted years trying to get them to listen.
On MacOS instead of «Menu app icon > Options > General» you must visit Preferences under the Thunderbird menu or hit Command-comma. If you have Thunderbird 68 The ‘Config Editor’ button is not under General but it is in the Advanced area at the bottom. Thunderbird 78 has it under General.
I followed the istructions exactly changed it to -01.25 and it made no difference to the font size in the IN Box — I then closed and reopened Thunderbird — What now please.
I am disappointed — I want to be able to use thunderbird without spectacles.

You followed the instructions very well, but failed to follow them when entering the value.
The default is a negative number -0.1
The instructions said to change it to eg: 1.25 which is a positive number and the decimal point is after the number 1.
The instructions did not say to use a negative number : -01.25 Nor did they say to put a 0 before the number 1.
I suggest you have another go and this time clear all the current entered value and retype to use this 1.25 or 1.5

Изменение шрифта в окне списка писем.
Не могу пользоваться thunderbird»oм 3,04 очень маленькая разница между прочитанным и непрочитанным сообщением. Жирный и нежирный шрифт выглядят почти одинаково, как это можно изменить?, к примеру как сделать чтобы размер, шрифт или цвет прочитанного сообщения отличались от непрочитанного?

Наверное, у вас какое-нибудь мегасглаживание включено, вообще же в списке писем есть колонка «Прочитано».

А где это находится в настройках системы? Я не нашел. Это дополнение для firefox, на thunderbird 3.1.4 у меня не установилось?

Вероятно, неудивительно, что вы можете вносить изменения в шрифт, который вы используете в исходящих письмах в Mozilla Thunderbird. Однако вы также можете настроить Thunderbird на использование шрифта и размера шрифта, которые вы предпочитаете при чтении входящей почты, и вы также можете выбрать свой любимый цвет.

Этот выбор определяет, какой из выбранных вами шрифтов используется во входящих сообщениях. Если вы выбрали и хотите использовать шрифт без засечек, убедитесь, что для параметра «Пропорционально» задано значение «Без засечек», чтобы избежать пробелов.
- Чтобы переопределить шрифты, указанные в форматированных текстовых сообщениях, поставьте галочку напротив Разрешить сообщениям использовать другие шрифты .
- Нажмите ОК и , чтобы закрыть окно настроек.
Использование шрифтов по умолчанию вместо тех, которые указаны отправителем, может исказить визуальную привлекательность некоторых сообщений.
