Lexmark MS421 Kernel Error 900.00

Hello,

I have a MS 421 here with 900.00 errors. (java killed, kernel panic not syncing and so on When you restart the machine 10 times or so, it will boot normally sometimes so I could try some things.
It does not come frome a faulty print or fax job. Device is not connected to fax line and lan.
I’ve resetted the machine with the yellow jumper.
I’ve resetted it with the clear memory function under the 26 mode.
I’ve tried to udate firmware. But this fails. A Programming Error P119 — Signature failure occurs.
Firmware had been up to date (Version 70.45) I believe before the problem occured.
Is the main board broken?
What else can I try?

If it won’t take the firmware, then yes, you’re up for a main board. On a few rare occasions I’ve had success loading firmware through the web interface or via USB utility, if those things are available to you. Most times, if you’re getting 900.00 firmware errors often it won’t let you into the web interface.

Hallo Leute,
Ich hab gestern den Drucker von Lexmark MC2425 bekommen. Nachdem ich ihn auf die neueste Firmware aktualisiert habe und angefangen habe ihn einzustellen, fiel mir auf, dass der Drucker immer mit diesem Code Crasht, wenn er aus dem sleep Mode wieder angeht. Das Ding ist, dass er sich auch automatisch ohne Einfluss nach einer gewissen Zeit automatisch wieder angeht und crasht.
Wenn ich ihn vom Strom trenne und anschließend wieder anschalte, funktioniert er…

Was ich probiert habe:
-Werkeinstellungen zurücksetzen
— Von jeglichen Kabeln trennen, bis auf Stromkabel
— Firmware downgraden auf die vorherige Version

Bisher hat nichts geholfen. Vllt weiß von euch jemand einen Rat.

Ist dieser Drucker noch drahtlos an ein Netzwerk angeschlossen? Kannst du deinen WLAN-Router mal testweise abschalten oder zumindest das WLAN?

Dieser Fehler soll auftreten, wenn der arme kleine Drucker mit so genannten Jumbo-Frames beschossen wird, das sind IP-Pakete, die groesser sind als der erlaubte Maximalwert von 1500 Byte.

Ansonsten stuerzt ein Linux-Kernel eigentlich nur ab, wenn die Hardware defekt ist. Es koennte sich also beispielsweise auch um defekte Speichermodule handeln.

Ich hab ihn gerade nochmal geresettet auf Werkeinstellungen und hab ihn nicht verbunden mit einem Netzwerk. Daraufhin wieder das gleiche Spiel. Ich schalte ihn nach dem erstmaligen Anschalten mit dem PowerButton in den Sleep Modus. Nach 1/2 Minuten startet er ohne Grund und es kommt zum Crash. Gute ist, dass ich noch Garantie habe, da ich ihn erst frisch gekauft habe.

Wie hoch ist die Chance, dass man das repariert bekommt oder ich ihn zurückschicken muss?

Hi,
ich habe seit Anfang diesen Jahres den gleichen Drucker und exakt das selbe Problem!
Daher gehe ich nicht von einem defekten Speichermodul aus, sondern von einer verbuggten Firmware bzw Einstellung aus.
Ich werde mich wohl mal an den Kundensupport wenden, denn grundsätzlich bin ich mit dem Gerät ansonsten wirklich zufrieden. Außerdem ist der Drucker brutal schwer, sodass ich nicht zwingend scharf darauf bin, ihn zurückzusenden.

Sollte ich neue Erkenntnisse erlangen, werde ich eine Rückinfo geben.

I’ve been trying to jailbreak my ps4. the console is on 9.00, the xfat image is burnt into a usb stick drive, I run the exploit and I get to when a message asking you to plug in the usb shows up, I do exactly that, it takes a while for the unsupported device prompt to pop up but it does, but it is here where I hit a dead end. Instead of getting a message that asks me to inject the Jb payload files I get a message that say «Exploit failed (Kernel heap might be F*cked if you did insert the usb. I tried several times now, been trying for a couple of hours actually but to no avail. Can someone help me? please. Thank you.

check if the ISO you flashed has the correct size, its ~4MB, I had that same error and it was that I downloaded one that was only a few KBs

That was the problem. The image I downloaded was a couple hundreds KB, it was downloaded from Github which is why I didn’t suspect it’d be the problem. What I did was that I downloaded the entire files needed for the JB all over again, and yes I did notice the new image file was 4MB in size, run it and it worked like a charm. Thank you buys.
