  • This code means there is a serious audio-hardware issue
    • The console will need to be physically repaired. Call Nintendo support for more info.
    • A temporary workaround that works for some, but not all: turn off the «mute volume when headphones are unplugged» setting.

The Nintendo Switch error code 2110 is a network-based issue where your Switch cannot successfully connect to wireless internet. This is due to your console being unable to pick up a previously saved, or an incorrectly configured network. 

If the network you are trying to connect to on your Nintendo Switch was initially set up incorrectly, this can result in the network not showing up as an ‘available’ option for your switch to connect to.

The Nintendo Switch error code 2110 will include an additional number, such as 2110-2003, 2110-1100, or 2110-3127.

This error code will be accompanied by;

  • ”Unable to connect to network device”
  • ”Please check the status of the network device and try again”

What causes Nintendo Switch error code 2110?

Because the Nintendo error code 2110 is related to your network connection, the majority of the causes are internet-based;

Cause 1. Software issue

Your Nintendo Switch’s software may be due to an update. If the software of your console is outdated, this may cause issues with the console connecting successfully.

Nintendo Switch users have advised updating the software has helped them fix this error code problem.

Cause 2. Disconnected internet connection

Your Wifi router may have disconnected from its network provider, or your network service provider went down.

Your Nintendo Switch will not be able to work if it is not connected to a stable, secure internet connection.

Cause 3. Cable Issue

If you are using your console while it is ‘docked’, and the error code 2110 is appearing, this could be due to your wired setup being faulty.

A problematic LAN cable will interfere with your Switch receiving a good network connection.

Cause 4. Incorrect DNS setting

You may have an incorrect DNS setting inputted on your console that does not match with your Wifi router’s settings.

This error will generally be associated with the Nintendo Switch error code 2110-3127.

NB: After attempting one of these fixes, try connecting your Nintendo Switch before proceeding with a different method.

Fix 1. Restart Switch device

Restarting your Nintendo Switch can refresh your console from having connection problems, and be able to pick up its previously connected network.

Step 1. Press down on your ‘Power’ button on the top of your console

Step 2. Hold this button down for around 15 seconds

Step 3. Once your Nintendo has turned off, wait a couple of minutes

Step 4. Turn your Switch back on

You can now check to see that your Nintendo picks up your network, and connects successfully.

Fix 2. Update DNS settings

With error 2110-3127 associated mainly with the DNS settings of your Nintendo Switch, manually updating the ‘Domain Name System’, can help fix this problem.

Step 1. On your home screen, click on ‘System Preferences’

Step 2. Go into the ‘Network Settings’ on the network you are trying to gain access to

Step 3. Select ‘DNS Settings’

Step 4. Update the DNS information to:

  • DNS Settings: Manual
  • Primary DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
  • Secondary DNS Server: 8.8.4.4

Note, these are the standard Google DNS settings.

Save this update and try connecting again.

Fix 3. Power reset your internet connection

Resetting your wifi router will refresh its connection to its service provider, as well as your Nintendo Switch device.

Step 1. Switch your wifi router off and unplug it

Step 2. Plug it back in after a few minutes have passed

Step 3. Turn the router back on

Once your wifi is back to being connected, try reconnecting your Nintendo Switch.

Fix 4. Use a wired connection

You may be able to bypass the Nintendo Switch error code 2110 if you use a wired connection for your console.

Fix 5. Delete saved network

If your Nintendo Switch is not picking up its saved network, deleting it off of the device and reconnecting as a brand new internet source can help fix the error code 2100.

Fix 6. Remove obstructions

Your wifi router may be too far from where you are using your Nintendo Switch, or, there may be too many obstructions between the router and your device.

Get closer to your modem, and remove any large objects that may be blocking the connection.

It is recommended to be at least 10-15 to your router.

If you have any Bluetooth-enabled devices around your Switch, turn them off as the Bluetooth frequencies can cause interferences.

So my V1 hacked switch has been working fine but suddenly all wireless functionality has stopped working. The wifi symbol shows a solid empty symbol, like if wifi has been turned off, not the 3 grey bars as if not connected to a network. Additionally, I cannot connect controllers wirelessly (no joycons or pro controller). I have checked that the system is not in airplane mode, have turned off the system completely, cleared cache, but the problem persists when I boot into SysNAND or EmuNAND.

Every time I try to launch a game or go into WiFi settings I get «Error Code: 2110-1118 (sometimes 1115) Wireless communication is not currently available due to an error.» Then it asks me to turn off the system in power options, which I’ve done countless times now.

I do remember a few days ago I found my switch (which had been in sleep mode using EmuNAND) had it’s screen on while in docked mode with a weird error message. It asked me to press the power button to reboot the console, or something to that effect (wish I had taken a picture). After rebooting I was still able to use WiFi and wireless controllers for a few days after that, but then the issue described above began.

At this point I’m letting the battery drain to see if that helps anything, but beyond that I’m looking for any other ideas.

1. Doing some research, some have said it may just mean my wireless card has died. Would that affect both WiFi and Bluetooth? Any good guides for replacing this card? I haven’t really been able to find anything useful on this front. Obviously I can’t send the hacked switch into Nintendo for repair — even for a cost.

2. I haven’t tried reinitializing my console. If it wasn’t hacked I would’ve already done this but I’m not sure how it works on a hacked switch. Can I just remove my SD card and initialize using SysNAND? If I replug in the SD card can I use my jig, launch a payload, and still have all my games from the SD card on EmuNAND?

I appreciate any ideas/advice. Thanks.

It might be the Wifi module.
Just as anything else electronic, it can break.
It’s on a seperate board afaik.
In some cases it’s just a bad connection due to corrosion.
They sell these board for just a few dollars on Aliexpress.

I had the same problem a long time ago. I fixed it by reconnecting the wireless cable that goes in the wifi module (it seems that it was disconnected due to some blow).

Interesting. I’m not sure I’ve noticed a wire to the wifi module. If you’re able to show an image of what you mean I’m open to giving it a try.

You can search «Replace Wifi antenna Nintendo Switch» with your trustworthy search engine, there will be plenty of results that show you how to do it.
After you adjust antenna cable, the problem still persists, I think u should replace wifi chip on your motherboard. Depends on u device, u can buy them (BCM4356XKUBG or CYW4356XKUBG) from AliExpress quite cheap (mine is around 3$ for each piece). But it will take more knowledge and tools to replace those chip. I have done some in the past and as reported, they are still doing fine.

Those connectors are pretty fragile, I’ve had to lift the one in the right joycon several times to fix the stick, now the right joycon has noticeably poor reception.
If it seems lifted/displaced, due to shock or something, reseat it. Otherwise it’s better to leave it alone.

It’s not wifi antenna’s problem. Even if wifi antennas are not connected, you won’t get the pop up error message.

It’s usually the wifi chip is dying. I just worked on an OLED switch with this error code several weeks ago, had to reflow the wireless chip to fix the problem. Reflow it first, if that doesn’t solve the issue you probably need to replace it. You need to get one used, removed from working motherboard (brand new chips won’t work as they need to be programmed). Btw probably not related to you, if you tried to lift the soc shied before, try to check if you damaged those 2 smd capacitors to the left of the soc. If they are damaged you will get this error message.

I had the same issue with my switch lite.! error 2110-1115 when sd card was inserted and 2110-1118 when the sd card not in the switch. I managed to fix the issue by connecting the switch to a Bluetooth headphone and restarting the switch! after the switch booted up I was able to connect to wifi!

I usually use 380 degrees C when working with leaded solder, medium wind speed, don’t get too close to the chip and as always apply a generous amount of flux. Watch some videos on youtube before working on your switch.

Also be extra careful as there are many tiny components near the wifi chip. Don’t set wind speed too high or you’ll blow them away.

    • Баг в работе прошивки консоли. К сожалению, программное обеспечение (прошивка) Switch время от времени работает со сбоями, что вызывает проблемы при подключения к местным Wi-Fi сетям. Как правило, от данного бага можно избавиться с помощью элементарной перезагрузки консоли.
    • Ошибка DNS-сервера. В некоторых случаях ошибка 2110-2003 может возникать из-за того, что Switch не может подключиться к заданному DNS-серверу. Решение — выбор другого DNS-сервера.
    • Неполадки Wi-Fi маршрутизатора. Switch может испытывать проблемы с подключением к беспроводной сети из-за некорректно работающего роутера. Временные файлы, сбившиеся или ранее измененные настройки, баг в работе ПО — самые распространенные причины. Чтобы восстановить нормальную работу роутера, необходимо выполнить его полную перезагрузку.
    • Несовместимость ПО маршрутизатора с типом защиты Nintendo Switch. Wi-Fi роутер пользователя может быть несовместим с типом защиты (шифрованием), выставленном на Switch по умолчанию.     • Зажмите кнопку питания (в верхней части корпуса, рядом с кнопками громкости) на секунды две-три, пока на экране консоли не появится соответствующее меню;
    • выберите пункты «Параметры электропитания»→«Перезапустить»;
    • подождите перезапуска устройства.

    Как только получите контроль над Switch, попробуйте подключить консоль к нужной Wi-Fi сети. Ошибка 2110-2003 к этому моменту могла исчезнуть.

    Изменение адресов DNS-сервера на Switch

    Еще одна потенциальная причина, по которой Switch может не подключаться к ближайшему Wi-Fi, — это проблемы с заданным DNS-сервером. Как правило, пользователю не приходится задумываться, что такое DNS и как его менять. Тем не менее такие ситуации возникают, а поэтому мы покажем вам, как изменить DNS на своей Switch, чтобы та подключилась к Wi-Fi.

    • Находясь на главном экране консоли, нажмите на кнопку со значком домика на своем контроллере (под правым аналоговым стиком);
    • далее выберите кружок со значком шестеренки, чтобы открыть настройки консоли;
    • теперь перейдите в раздел «Интернет» и выберите «Интернет-настройки»;
    • подождите немного, чтобы консоль определила доступные сетевые подключения;
    • выберите из списка нужную вам Wi-Fi сеть, после чего выберите пункты «Изменить настройки»→«Настройки DNS»→«Ручной ввод»;
    • затем вам необходимо задать следующие значения в настройках DNS:
      • «Первичный DNS» — 8.8.8.8;
      • «Вторичный DNS» — 8.8.4.4.
    • выйдите из настроек Switch.

    Заметка: Как альтернатива, можете использовать другие адреса DNS:
    • «Первичный DNS» — 001.001.001.001;
    • «Вторичный DNS» — 001.000.000.001.

    Повторите попытку подключения Switch к беспроводной сети. Если проблема заключалась в DNS, то никакой ошибки 2110-2003 вы не увидите.

    Перезагрузка Wi-Fi маршрутизатора

    К сожалению, многие Wi-Fi маршрутизаторы — независимо от марки производителя — начинают работать с ошибками, если их не перезагружать в течение продолжительно времени. Столкнулись с проблемами «сетевого» характера? Бегом перезапускать роутер! Осуществить перезагрузку подобного устройства можно с помощью соответствующей кнопки на его корпусе.

    Изменение типа защиты Switch

    Некоторые владельцы Switch утверждают, что им удалось избавиться от проблем с подключением к местному Wi-Fi, изменив тип защиты (метод шифрования) в Интернет-настройках консоли. Скорее всего, проблема заключается в несовместимости этого самого типа защиты консоли с роутером. Вот что вам нужно сделать, чтобы изменить метод шифрования на Switch:

    • перейдите в раздел «Интернет-настройки», как это было продемонстрировано во втором пункте;
    • далее выберите подходящий Wi-Fi и перейдите в подраздел «Безопасность»;
    • WEP (открытый), WEP (общий), WPA-PSK (AES) и WPA2-PSK (AES) — выберите из представленного списка тип шифрования, с которым «умеет» работать ваш маршрутизатор;
    • введите пароль от Wi-Fi и нажмите кнопку «Сохранить»;
    • подождите немного и проверьте, получится ли у Switch подключиться к Wi-Fi.

    Все вышеуказанные методы были неоднократно проверены владельцами Nintendo Switch — они гарантируют решение ошибки 2110-2003.

    И в продолжение темы — вот наш большой справочник по кодам ошибок Nintendo Switch, в котором мы постарались собрать все самые распространенные из них. С кратким описанием по каждой из проблем и, разумеется, с предложениями относительно того, что и как в каждом отдельном случае надо делать.
