Also, the music is not working despite the volume being set to 100%. All other sounds work. Funny enough, if I launch it from Steam as an external app (I got the GOG version, so I often launch it from Galaxy) the music works.

It might be worth noting that both Galaxy and Steam show this error message.

Did you ever find a solution? I have the exact same popup and similar background story.
I got the game way back when it came out, with the expansions eventually.

I never used GoG before so I opted for downloading the gamefiles (don’t know if GoG had a launcher back then even) and installing the game «manually».

I just now downloaded the GoG Galaxy app/launcher and imported my game into the launcher, my game was on version 1.21 or 1.22 before I imported it so it started downloading new patches and what not.

After this process I can no longer launch the game at all, I just get this weird popup

After instalation of 1.07 when I start game after 1 sec i get this error and after next 2 sec game start and it is open with this error. When I exit game this error disappear after 2 sec.
This is normal or what??? I had command console installed and also it is not working anymore. Also I have 4-5 FPS drop because of 1.07 Now instead of stable 60 I have 55.

Delete your mods people. The problem is due to your debug console dll. the dsound.dll. If you mod your game it is always expected that patches will break it. Also restore your files and delete the backup folders if they are in the game folders. IE make sure your backup folder is not in the same place as your main file.
