MegaDownloader is not an official Mega application. Therefore, the company does not offer support for this tool or update it to improve its performance and solve errors. Being a particular development, MegaDownloader has some bugs, that fortunately, are easily solved.
For example, the download directory may be invalid or access may be denied.
Directory error
This problem is solved by changing the download path to a valid one. To do this, open the MegaDownloader configuration by clicking on Options, and then, on Configuration.

Select a valid folder, such as Downloads or Documents, and confirm with Ok.

The structure of a MEGA link consists of the domain, which should be http://mega.nz/file/, followed by approximately 40 characters. They include file identification and the encryption key. For older versions of MegaDownloader, it may be necessary to use the domain mega.co.nz.
Finally, a download may not start or may stop halfway through. The warning, in this case, will appear in the download list with the word Error in red.

Downloading problems may be due to the performance of the firewall, or Windows Firewall. To allow MegaDownloader access to the network through it, open the application settings, and select the Streaming tab.

In the window that will appear, click on Allow Access to create a MegaDownloader exception in the system firewall.

But it can control your entire ISP providers network, they might entirely turn off the tunnel to access the service itself. The hard solution for this would be shifting to a new ISP that you can trust.

There might be several reasons for MegaDownloader not downloading the links given to it. And, some reasons might not be related to it and can be solved easily. check them out here:
- Check whether the drive you’re using for the downloads hasn’t reached its storage limit. If it’s reached then try to shift the drive location to another or clear some space in the drive itself.
- Make sure you paste the Mega Downloads links that have decrypted key appended to the end. As of now, there’s no popup feature available to ask for the key if not given with the link.
- Make sure to try the VPN right away after facing the following issue. As explained about it might be the ISP that’s causing the trouble.
- Consider bumping your connections that are being used to download files in Mega.NZ Downloader. Because they might be busy serving other files downloading.

What requirements does it have?
You must use Windows XP SP3 or higher (Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, etc) and have installed .NET 4.0 or higher.

The decryption is made on the fly, while downloading, so no extra resources are used (RAM or disk).
How do I start downloading?
First you must start the program and wait for it to load.
Then you have to add links to download.

Then, just add one or more links and put them in the queue.
Once in the queue, you might check the status:
— Stopped: Connections are closed and download is stopped.
— Downloading: The queue items are being downloaded in order.
— Paused: The connections are open but the files are not being downloaded. When it returns to the state ‘Downloading’ it will immediately start downloading.
How do I configure the program? There are many options!
You can use the default settings, without touching anything, to begin downloading. When the setup screen appears, click Yes, and that’s all!
The only option you have to look a bit is the default download path (where the file is saved). The default path is Windows Desktop. If you do not specify a default path, you will have to enter it every time you download something.
How I can see the remaining time?
By default, some columns are not shown. Right click on the column header of the list of downloads, select the columns to show or hide.

I can not change the size of the name column!
This column is automatically resized by the size of other columns. Therefore you should modify the other columns to resize the name column. This is done to avoid horizontal scrolling.
A download is in red and says ERROR!
Right click on it and select the option «See Error», it will show more details.
The error says something like 509 bandwith exceeded…
Mega has a download limit. Unfortunately it is implemented on the server side so there is nothing you can do. Try restarting the router to force an IP renewal if you have dynamic IP with your ISP. With some luck you will get a new IP and you can continue downloading a little bit more…
How I can translate the application into another language?
A more complete tutorial will be made soon.
Basically you have to create a new file in the internal configuration path, under the Language directory, copying another file (it is recommended to use as a basis en-US.xml). You have to put the language code in the format ISO 639 + ISO 3166. Then you have to edit the XML and change, first, the code and name of the language, then the translation (keeping the ‘id’ attribute of each node). Ready!
Next time you start the program, you will be able to change the language from the configuration screen (if the language code is correct and exists).
Does it work on Linux or Mac?
.NET is used for developing MegaDownloader. This is a framerwork made by Microsoft and only works natively on Windows. Currently .NET is Open Source and maybe support for Mac and Linux will be added in the future.
Meanwhile you can use Parallels for running it on Mac.
If you use Linux, you can try to compile the source code and make it run with Mono, however I am unable to give support for Linux.

MegaDownloader is safe. It is compressed using MPRESS to minimize its size. Some viruses also use MPRESS so they are more difficult to detect; for that reason some antivirus mark as dangerous any compressed file in this way — a false positive!

How to FIX Mega.Nz “Bandwidth Transfer Quota Exceeded” Error
In this guide, you will learn methods to bypass the Mega.nz bandwidth transfer quota exceeded limit using various methods. By using these methods, you can download large files without the Bandwidth Transfer Quota Exceeded error on Mega.nz.

Method 3: Use MEGA Download+ IDM
If you have experience with Mega Downloader, you can combine it with IDM to download files from Mega.nz faster and bypass the Bandwidth Transfer Quota limit.
Install both programs and follow these steps carefully.
- First, install IDM. (if you already have it, skip this)
- Open MEGA Downloader
- Click the Configuration (gear symbol at the top-right)
- Click the “Streaming” tab then check “Use streaming server” then save.
- Click the “Streaming” tab again (not in configuration) then watch online.
- Copy the link that you want to download from MEGA on your browser then paste it to the “MEGA URL link”.
- The new link will appear, copy it.
- Go back to IDM. Click “Add URL” then paste it then click OK.
Method 4: Use VPN to Fix MEGA Transfer Quota Limit
This is the easiest way but requires a VPN connection. I would never recommend a free VPN service but if you can’t spend, try UFO VPN. Here’s how it works,
- Download the Mega.nz Downloader on your PC
- Download, install and set up the VPN software on your PC
- Connect to a VPN location and then run Mega Downloader
- Start downloading the file, as soon as you reach the bandwidth quota, which is 4 GB, change the VPN location.
- Repeat it until you download the complete file.
Wasn’t that super easy? But if you want to stay secure, get a premium subscription at Mega.nz or VPN. I personally use UFO VPN, and so recommended here.
Method 5: Use JDownloader To Fix MEGA Download Limit
If you don’t have IDM or using Mac or Linux machine, use JDownloader to bypass Mega.nz bandwidth transfer quota limit and download the file.
Here’s a step by step instruction you may follow,
- Download and install JDownloader on your Mac, Windows, or Linux machine
- Open the JDownloader app and add your Mega.nz account details
- In Mac, click on the JDownloader button in the top left corner and select Preferences. Choose the ‘Connection Manager’
- In Windows, go to Setting>Connection Manager
- Open link grabber and keep it open
- Now go Mega.nz file page that you want to download and Right-click>Get links>Copy or simply, copy link.
- The link grabber will automatically add the downloads to the list
- Then right-click in JDownloader and select download

Данную статью меня вынудили своим нытьем написать некоторые пользователи. На сайте стало появляться все больше и больше крутых материалов, которые доступны для скачивания с помощью облачного хранилища Mega. Как показало время, многие пользователи не в состоянии скачать курс. Сразу возникает вопрос «а зачем вам курс, если вы даже не можете сделать самое простое действие, как скачать материал?!». Если раньше данные комментарии вызывали улыбку и смех, то сейчас это стало немного напрягать и те, кто пишет такие комментарии, напоминают первобытную губку, как на превью к данной статье. В будущем (уже в самое ближайшее время) ожидаются объемные крутые материалы, которые будут доступны для скачивания через Mega. Если у вас проблемы со скачиванием — читайте эту статью, так как этот вопрос больше подниматься не будет и никто не будет ради некоторых пользователей разбивать материалы на сотни кусков и перезаливать на другие хранилища. Пользователи, которые продолжат ныть — будут отправлены учиться навыкам работы с ПК и будут временно изолированы от общества.
И так, давайте разберем, почему именно Mega? Все очень просто. Для нас это удобное хранилище, где нет ограничений на объем заливаемого материала, где большой объем диска и где лояльно относятся к жалобам. Материалы для пользователей доступны бесплатно, поэтому или учитесь скачивать или не качайте вообще. Предположим, что вы нашли нужный курс и он залит на Mega. Первым делом убедитесь, что само хранилище у вас открывается. Если Mega у вас в стране недоступна (некоторые провайдеры хранилище блокируют) — воспользуйтесь прокси или впн для обходом блокировки. Теперь осталось самое просто — это скачать материал. Существует 2 самых простых способа скачивания:
1 способ. Данный способ подойдет для скачивания небольших файлов. Для скачивания больших файлов используйте 2 способ. Первый способ — это воспользоваться скачиванием через обычный браузер. Как показала практика, лучше всех с Mega работает браузер Google Chrome. Поэтому, мы советуем использовать именно его. Как происходит скачивание через браузер: Сначала материал загружается в кеш, затем после полной загрузки вы можете сохранить его в любую папку (если не настроен выбор папки — материал сохраняется в папку с загрузками).
Нажимаем кнопку «Загрузить в браузере» и ждем завершения загрузки. Вкладку закрывать нельзя!
Вы также можете воспользоваться софтом от Mega — MegaSync и синхронизировать файлы, но данным способом скачивать мы не пробовали, хотя некоторые пользователи хвалят именно этот способ. Также по словам некоторых пользователей, для успешной закачки файлы нужно импортировать на свой облачный диск, но, в основном, это делать не обязательно. После скачивания большого файла через браузер, рекомендуем очистить кеш браузера, например, с помощью утилиты CCleaner.
2 способ. Скачивание с помощью программы Mipony. Программу Mipony можно скачать с официального сайта. Мы советуем использовать именно этот способ, так как программа очень удобная и имеет множество плюсов, например, софт поддерживает докачку файлов (как торрент) и не создает временных файлов в отличие от скачивания через браузер. Некоторые антивирусы могут ругаться на программу, но ничего страшного в этом нет. Программа ничего не ворует и не является вредоносной. Параноики могут пользоваться программой на виртуальной машине. Устанавливаем программу (все очень просто) и запускаем. Первым делом откройте вкладку «Опции» и убедитесь, что там не стоит ограничение скорости.
Нажмите на кнопку «Добавить ссылки» и вставьте ссылку (ссылки) в поле. Затем по нужному материалу нажмите правой кнопки мыши и выберите «Закачать»:
