are you running Nemesis as admin? is this error consistent 100% all the time?

@nahmercy

Ran into the same problem. I also ran the engine in admin mode and nothing changes. However, this occurs when I ran it from MO2. When I ran it outside of MO2 with no mods, the patching works. Here’s my logs:

Sorry for the late comment was out of town. I can run it as admin but it will not have any of my mods so it will work fine. it seems to only happen from running it as a executable in mo2. I have to redo my mods anyway so if it comes up again after ill post again.

I have received reports latest version of MO2 is causing some issues. My testers have confirmed to me that reverting back to older version fixes their issue. I’m not sure if its related but do give that a try as well

Not sure what to do here. I can’t run it in admin from MO, and running it manually mean there will be no mods to tick.

The problem I had with mine was my anti virus, I had to turn off my real time protection and then it worked I don’t know if the same would work for any of you.

Thanks, bluesquares01. That actually worked, but it’s far from ideal that we need to turn off our antivirus to get Nemesis to run properly.

@FabioFusimoto

If disabling the Antivirus is too extreme, you can exclude the folder Nemesis runs at from the real time protection. Doing so for Windows Defender solved my problem. You can follow Microsoft’s guide to replicate said exclusion

As far as I know, ...AppData... is a Windows protected directory (just like ...ProgramFiles...), which is known to cause issues with mods. I’d highly advised against installing Skyrim on system protected folders, because unexpected stuff happens (and your case might be an example).

@ShadesofDawn

Recently tried to update a mod list with TUDM and when I run I get a few variations on the same error message.

I had the problem and turned off real-time protection and it worked.

@Pedaltothemetal

IDK why but a comment previously posted also works, without disabling my antivirus nor adding folder exceptions (idk how in windows 11). I turned the compatibility mode in the executable for nemesis to «windows 7» and now It Just Works™

@vanpunch

I also had this problem, setting Nemesis to run in ‘Windows 7″ compatibility mode worked for me.

@arluke

Can also confirm running this as Windows 8 Compatibility worked for me to solve this issue. Currently on Windows 10 build 21H2 managing and running through MO2 v2.4.4.

@343GuiltySpark-04

ok, I feel I should note that it did fix it for me however you should never turn off real-time protection globally, instead you should add an exclusion.

ERROR(6001): An exception has occured while updating. Report to Nemesis’ author immediately

The same happens when launching engine

The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:

I also tried everything it was mentioned in #195 but it didn’t work

This issue fails to meet the criteria in the description in main page of this repo. It will be closed it still doesn’t meet its criteria 5 days after posting

After some testing i’ve tried the following (None of them worked)
1- Reinstall Nemesis
2- Force load libraries (I selected every single dll in nemesis folder)
3- Install older versions
I think i reached a point in where i don’t know what could be the problem.

I’ve been reading other issues that mentioned ZaZ animation pack may be the cause of this error, i disabled the mod and it didn’t work, the issue still persisted

I’ll be informing if i have any succes on solving this issue

Success!! It seems i may have found the problem , i disabled every single mod and the engine didn’t give me any trouble.
I’ll be posting wich mod is the cause of this issue soon

TOTAL SUCCESS. If you’re using Zaz animation pack, disable it and install version 7.0 instead.
I hope this could be of help to anyone

I really want to try this mod instead of FNIS butXP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended requires FNIS to work and I need that mod for CBBE to work. Is there any workaround or set of other mods to replace these?

Nemesis comes with a dummy FNIS.esp plugin, you just need to activate it in the plugin section of your mod manager and voil, no need for FNIS

I continue to get «Failed to generate behavior» with any version of this mod I try. No I will not turn off «real time protection» for a mod. Besides, I did that offline (only time that get’s turned off) and I still have that issue.
Edit.
After tinkering with the mod, I’ve found that if you manually install it without a mod loader like Vortex or MO2 it will work. Just drag and drop the contents of the file into your Skyrim data directory, open up Nemesis exe, update, then Launch Nemesis Behavior Engine.

I find a mod «raven rock reborn» can weirdly cause nemesis fail to update.
This is a town mod that only have some meshes and textures, no animation.

And after I packed its assets into bsa, the problem is gone.

    Edit: Found the problem. I manually installed Nemesis by dragging and dropping into my data folder, and then tried to open it using MO’s functionality. You have to commit one way or the other. The problem I had with mine was my anti virus, I had to turn off my real time protection and then it worked I don’t know if the same would work for any of you.

    Thanks, bluesquares01. That actually worked, but it’s far from ideal that we need to turn off our antivirus to get Nemesis to run properly.

    If disabling the Antivirus is too extreme, you can exclude the folder Nemesis runs at from the real time protection. Doing so for Windows Defender solved my problem. You can follow Microsoft’s guide to replicate said exclusion

    @Dcaster10
    As far as I know, . AppData. is a Windows protected directory (just like . ProgramFiles. ), which is known to cause issues with mods. I’d highly advised against installing Skyrim on system protected folders, because unexpected stuff happens (and your case might be an example).

    Recently tried to update a mod list with TUDM and when I run I get a few variations on the same error message.

    Just ticked NEMISIS PCEU after disabling it and I don’t get this error message hope this helps.

    I had the problem and turned off real-time protection and it worked.

    IDK why but a comment previously posted also works, without disabling my antivirus nor adding folder exceptions (idk how in windows 11). I turned the compatibility mode in the executable for nemesis to «windows 7» and now It Just Works™

    I also had this problem, setting Nemesis to run in ‘Windows 7″ compatibility mode worked for me.

    Can also confirm running this as Windows 8 Compatibility worked for me to solve this issue. Currently on Windows 10 build 21H2 managing and running through MO2 v2.4.4.

    ok, I feel I should note that it did fix it for me however you should never turn off real-time protection globally, instead you should add an exclusion.

    I only have this happen when I have my VPN on. I turned it off and problem went away.
