Description of .NET Framework Error 404
Commonly, PC professionals refer to .NET Framework Error 404 as a type of «runtime error». Programmers like Microsoft Corporation endeavor to produce software that is free from these glitches until it is publicly released. Errors such as error 404 sometimes get dropped from reporting, leaving the issue remaining unresolved in the software.
«HTTP 404 Error.» might occur to .NET Framework users even through normal use of the application. In this way, end-users alert vendors about the presence of error 404 problems by providing information to developer. They will then patch the defective areas of code and make an update available for download. As a result, the developer can use update packages for .NET Framework accessible from their website (or automatic download) to resolve these error 404 problems and other errors.
How Runtime Error 404 Triggers, and What Is It?
.NET Framework Error 404 can most often occur when .NET Framework is being loaded up. The three common reasons why runtime errors like error 404 pop-up:
Error 404 Crash — error 404 locks up any input and it can make the machine crash. This usually happens when .NET Framework can’t handle the provided input, or when it doesn’t know what to output.
.NET Framework Error 404 Memory Leak — When a .NET Framework memory leak happens, it will result in the operating system running sluggish due to a lack of system resources. Possible sparks include a deallocation failure that happened in a non-C++ program, when corrupted assembly code improperly executes an infinite loop.
Error 404 Logic Error — A logic error happens when .NET Framework produces wrong output from the right input. Microsoft Corporation’s faulty source code can lead to these issues with input handling.
Commonly, corrupt or missing .NET Framework Error 404 files cause these Microsoft Corporation errors, and are sometimes attributed to a current or past malware infection affecting .NET Framework. Downloading and replacing your Microsoft Corporation file can fix the problem in most cases. As a supplemental troubleshooting step, we highly recommend cleaning up any invalid file path and Microsoft Corporation file extension references that could contribute to creating these .NET Framework Error 404 error messages.
Common .NET Framework Error 404 Error Messages
These .NET Framework Error 404-related .NET Framework Troubles Include:
- «.NET Framework Error 404 Program Error.»
- «.NET Framework Error 404 not valid.»
- «.NET Framework Error 404 encountered a problem and will close.»
- «Sorry, we can’t find .NET Framework Error 404.»
- «.NET Framework Error 404 can’t be found.»
- «Problem starting application: .NET Framework Error 404.»
- «.NET Framework Error 404 is not running.»
- «.NET Framework Error 404 failed.»
- «Software Path Fault: .NET Framework Error 404.»
Usually .NET Framework Error 404 errors with .NET Framework happen during startup or shutdown, while .NET Framework Error 404 related programs are running, or rarely during the OS update sequence. Notating when .NET Framework Error 404 errors occur is paramount in finding the cause of the .NET Framework problems and reporting them to Microsoft Corporation for help.
Creators of .NET Framework Error 404 Difficulties
Malware infestation, invalid .NET Framework registry entries, or missing / corrupt .NET Framework Error 404 files can create these .NET Framework Error 404 errors.
Especially, .NET Framework Error 404 errors stem from:
- Invalid (corrupt) .NET Framework Error 404 registry entry.
- .NET Framework Error 404 file corrupted from virus infection.
- Malicious deletion (or mistaken) of .NET Framework Error 404 by another application (not .NET Framework).
- A different application in conflict with .NET Framework Error 404, or other shared references.
- .NET Framework / .NET Framework Error 404 corrupt from incomplete download or install.

I have a project which I have upgraded to .Net 4.0, but when I try to access it, I retrieve the following error:
HTTP Error 404.2 - Not Found
The page you requested could not be displayed because of the settings for the list of ISAPI and CGI restrictions on web server.
ErrorCode: 0x800704ec
Handler PageHandlerFactory-ISAPI-4.0_32bit
Do I need to do something extra to the IIS 7 or APP pool, when converting an existing site to a .NET 4.0 site?
Also if I look at ISAPI both 32bit and 64bit of the .Net 4.0 is installed.

I take it you’re running on IIS6 right now..
Open the IIS manager, and go to the Web Service Extensions area.. You’ll be able to enable .NET 4 in there.. All new extensions are disabled by default
If you’re running on IIS7, .NET might not have registered in IIS.. Then open up an admin command prompt and navigate to the .NET 4 framework folder (C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv4.{version}). If you’re on a 64 bit machine go to the Framework64 folder instead of the Framework folder.
Then run aspnet_regiis -i
in there

I had this same issue. Strangely, for me it would run in integrated mode but not in classic mode for .NET 4. After enabling the .NET 4 extensions via the Isapi and Cgi restrictions section in IIS 7, it then began working in both modes. The Isapi and Cgi restrictions section is located at the server level node in IIS manager. This option should not be confused with the Isapi Filters section at the site level.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging=»true» />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Hello community.
For what we’ve seen. Maybe there’s a problem with .NET framework version installed on OS for web applications hosted on IIS 8.5.
On OS that it has installed the .NET 4.5 version the views are running without any problem. But for OS that has installed the .NET 4.6 version, there’re views that aren’t exists for IIS, throwing a 404 error not found. The views that aren’t working represents
a 2% aprox. of existant views of the system that we’re developing.
There’s some sort of option to enable for full compatibility? For what I understand .NET 4.5 and .NET 4.6 has high native compatibility and it shouldn’t be problems of this level.
Note: Projects are running with 4.5 .NET Framework version
Registry screenshoot for .NET 4.5 Framework version.
Registry screenshoot for .NET 4.6 Framework version.

Microsoft .NetFramwork error !
Sir. This is me. Yesterday it said Microsoft .net framework the remote server returned an error (404) not found .
And now it said microsoft net framework unhandled exception has occurred in your application an exception occurred during a webclient request. (
-
Microsoft .Net Framework
Basically, to sum up what I can tell:
-The application(s) that crashed use .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.5.
-First error is it getting nothing when it expected something (not very telling).
-Second error occured in «System.Data.SQLite» which is not .NET Framework. I repeat, not .NET Framework.
-SQLite is is a GNU licenced, free to use library.
-Any .NET-compiled service or process could be causing the error. If you watch the Task Manager, you might be able to tell which process closes after you click on «Quit.»I suggest you search your computer for sqlite*.dll. Whatever programs it is found in close proximity to are most likely the culprits for the crashes.

Microsoft .NET Framework, Unhandled exception
Hi,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I suggest you to un-check and recheck .Net framework 3.5 and .Net framework 4.6 advance series from Windows features.
Try the following steps:
- Press Windows + R keys to open Run command.
- Type Appwiz.cpl and select «turn Windows feature on or off» from the left
- Uncheck .Net framework 3.5 and .Net framework 4.6 advance series.
- Restart the computer
- Repeat step 1 and 2 and check .Net framework 3.5 and .Net framework 4.6 advance series.
- Restart the computer.
