  • Hi,

    I’ve been trying to automate creation of new Outlook mail from Lotus Notes.

    My problem is MailItem.Display() gives Automation object error — it displays the new mail window then gives the error.

    If I use MailItem.Display(True) there is no error if I send the newly created mail.

    But it gives an error if I close the new mail window without sending it.

    If I use MailItem.Display() it gives the error in both cases (sending and not sending)

    Anybody has any idea what’s going on?

Have an export to excel that is giving me an export I have never seen. I modified the code below from  an export I have used many times. When I run the export it gets to record 221 and then it gives me an OLE Automation Object Error. This export has more columns than I have used in the past, 63 columns. Could that be causing the error. Not sure where to look here.

I receive an error message, «Cannot create automation object».

Problem:

I receive an error message, «Cannot create automation object».

1) I have PDF-XChange 4.0 installed as default printer, and the printer name is «PDF-XChange.»
Now we have a Notes application, where I’m using the following coding to set an OLE Automation object, coding doesn’t work with the error message «Cannot create automation object» — the coding is as below.
I know there must be problem with the parameters in ‘CreateObject’, but I don’t know what the right application name / Class name for PDF-XChange 4.0.

2) How can I tell the system to wait until the print job is done?

Code (VBA):

set objPrinter = CreateObject( «PDFXChange.clsPDFXChange»)

Resolution:

1) See code below for creating printer object:

Dim objPrinter as Variant

Set objFactory = CreateObject(«PXCComLib.CPXCControlEx»)
Set objPrinter = objFactory.Printer(«», «<name of your printer>», «<YOUR REG CODE>», «<YOUR DEV CODE>»)

2) To tell the system to wait until the print job is finished — you need to incorporate a wait loop until one of the events;
OnError, or OnDocumentSpooled, fire.
