Very statightforward contact form 7 form using Beaver Builder theme.

I get the message… “One or more fields have an error. Please check and try again.”

And I get the message that I set to “Thank you” and is only meant for bots under the First Name field.

It works so well it not only blocks spam, but everybody. : )

I guess I complained to soon. The solution was simply taking out all spaces in the honey pot field name and honey pot error message. I also deleted the question mark in the honey pot field name. I’m not sure which of these “three” changes was the answer, but it worked!

I do have one question about the hidden field idea…

If WP armour knows to only show the extra field to bots, then why is a “Hidden field” necessary? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just filter out the bots based on what told you it was necessary to present the hidden field.

Or is it necessary to let them fill out the hidden field so that they get a false positive and are none the wiser? And therefore don’t know that they need to work on perfecting their hack.

Another question is how would i ever know if WP Armour filtered out a real customer? this has always been a concern with any anti-spam software, not just WP armours.

Our honeypot uses javascript fields. And they are auto filled by javascript for real users. But the spam bots doesn’t uses javascript and can’t see and fill those fields. This is how we filter spam.

Regarding submission, in our Extended version there is option to see what spam bots are trying to submit.

One or more fields have an error

For some reason I keep getting the One or more fields have an error. Please check and try again. I think I have all of the fields correct.

Thanks for your response. I am having the same error with two forms on the website. The code from the one above is the refill request form. But I am getting the same error on the transfer request as well.

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

ONE OR MORE FIELDS HAVE AN ERROR. PLEASE CHECK AND TRY AGAIN.

Hi, Im a dev for a client site and no nothing about CS7 forms really.
Getting “ONE OR MORE FIELDS HAVE AN ERROR. PLEASE CHECK AND TRY AGAIN.
” upon submit attempt.
Unsure why? Any help?

Also in the summary email my client receives after a form submission ( another form , not the above mentioned ) there is logic statements in the email itself.

Any ideas why or where the be?

About the logic statements in the email itself no usually this isn’t possible in that way. which kind of statement? just curious

So after multiple attempts Ive filled and refilled required fields to no success.

In terms of logic statements here is a paste of the summary, due to client confidentiality I cant show a screen shot or anything. Here is the content from a part of the email summary:

The issue was with the required field inside a conditional near the section “INSURANCE”. Some fields are displayed only after selecting “Type of Insurance -> Private Insurance; Insurance Company name->Other” some other after selecting “Insurance Company name->blabla” but all of them are required.

I honestly suppose that in that template there is a custom script that adds the conditionals, or a plugin, but now it doesn’t work anymore for some reason that I’ll let you discover. 🙂

Hi there, since yesterday i get the error message on four different wordpress websites “One or more fields have an error. Please check and try again”

Nothing wrong with my email server i can send and receive emails in a normal way but when i use the contact form on any of the WordPress website i get the error message. It started off in a red box not its orange today please help does anyone know what is wrong or how to fix?

Thanks for your reply, i spoke to my hosting company yesterday, email is working fine, i have had to disable the plugin on all four websites and use an email link with opens up and works fine. I have been using the plugin for a few years reelable without any problems now it doesn’t work. I spent all afternoon online trying to fix the problem and found no solutions.Before i disabled the plugins i tried using the form on all websites and the red box appeared again.

Do you have any other solutions to find out what the problem is?

Out of curiosity, did you recently get a theme update or PHP version update for your sites (which could be a possible cause of the issue that you’re experiencing)?

I have wordpress update all my plugins automatically, spoke to web hosting IONOS they said email was working correctly. I can send normal emails but CF7 stopped working.

I am using WP Mail SMTP free version which has made CF7 work again. I am not a programmer so cant identify what the problem is.

Spent nearly a day trying to figure it out with no solutions online, I have two other websites which use CF7 they still work on the same hosting but the three other websites i use for ecommerce stopped working. All is working again use WP Mail SMTP plugin free version

For some reason the plugin has stopped working for all our forms. I had to remove the shortcode from all the forms for them to work again.

I was using it on all customer based form submission pages on our website prior. However, now when I use the shortcode, it won’t let you submit the form. After you fill out all the fields and click submit, you get this error message “One or more fields have an error. Please check and try again.”

I do have the premium/pro version of the plugin too.

All of our front facing forms for customer inquiries were using the captcha shortcode. But a week or so ago, it stopped working, making all our form submissions not capable of sending. So I had to remove the shortcode.

Everything was installed correctly. Again, everything has been working fine for the last couple months. It stopped working last week though.

Attached are photos showing the Settings, shortcode implemented in a form, and the error message on the form when trying to submit.

When I remove the shortcode for your plugin, then the form submits fine. So it’s an issue with the plugin / shortcode.

As you are using “Hide Captcha for logged in users?”, you need to add additional 2 hooks as described in that docs page.

The captcha is not used for logged in users.

We use it on request a quote / schedule service / contact us forms. So there is no login required to fill out the form. I originally bought this plugin to help prevent spam. However, ever since it stopped working, I had to remove the shortcode so customers could still fill out our forms. But now, we’re getting spam again.

So something happened in either a recent update or something where the plugin isn’t allowing you to submit a form. It’ll say “One or more fields have an error.”

I don’t know what happened though, because I never changed or did anything with it and it was working fine for months.

This changes is not for this plugin, Something changes in Contact Form 7.
You can add following code in your child theme’s functions.php and it will start working again
