I’ve a HP PSC 2210 and it has always worked fine. Lately I changed from Win XP to Win 7 and even this gave no problems. Scanning, prining and cpying, even faxing went well. But this week I had to scan a document and whatever I tried I get an error message or even nothing.,
I’ve been trying to restore the drivers but nothing works. And even when I use anothe computer I still get the samne message!
But what is even stranger, when I took my laptop (with Win7 Ultimate) to a friend with the same scanner, I got the same errormessage. And believe me or nit, connecting it again to his computer (with Win 7 Home) there was no problem at all.
Please, Who can solve this problem?

Here’s the final solution. All the other answers didn’t solve the problem. So I did a try my selves again. After searching the internet I really found the final solution and indeed, at the moment I can Print, Fax ans Scan again with my PSC.
Well what was the solution? It was very simple; so simple I didn’t realized it.
The WIA service in Windows7 was turned off. And what ever I tried I could not got it turned on. So I looked further. And found out that the «Shell HW detect» service also was turned off. After turning it on (auto) the WIA service also started and……… everything was working fine.
Don’t ask my what this problem caused, for I do not know. But the thing I know for sure is that the problem now is solved.

Downloaded and reinstalled printer, but can not scan get error message 0x00000015. I am using windows 7, but printer is several years old. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue, I have the HP photosmart C4680? Can print just can’t scan anything:(

I found this artical at Wiki-Errors that point to a tool that should fix the error automatically. According to the artical, the error is caused by a corruption in the Windows system files. Hope this artical helps.

i have an epson stylus color printer dx 5000 series and my laptop is bought in2010. my aptop is a hp model. my printer scanner is on is connected with my laptop and i have unistall the printer and i have dounload and register back the printer’s drivers and also i install the printer. after all my hp continues, when i ask him to do some job with my scanner(epson) to post me an error message «0x00000015 the appliance is not ready.what i have to do

Hi angelblue,
I understand you would like to know how to enable the WIA and Shell HW detect on your computer. Please follow the steps listed below:
1. Go to your Start Menu and type in services.msc press Enter
2. You will notice 2 tabs at the bottom Extended and Standard, please select Standard
3. Now look for the Shell HW Detect (List is alphabetical) Right click and select Stop
4. Find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Right click and select Stop
5. Now you can go ahead and start both of those services by Right clicking and selecting Start
Please let me know if this was successful for you, or if you require more assistance.

Рассматривая данную тему, стоит отметить, что нужно отличать ошибку с кодом 0x00000015 от синего экрана смерти с кодом 0x00000015: LAST CHANCE CALLED FROM KMODE, так как первая возникает при подключении нового устройства, а вторая свидетельствует о повреждении ядра системы, а поэтому и способы, как исправить ошибку 0x00000015 на Windows 7 будут отличаться.

Решение: Если ошибка возникла при подключении нового устройства
Практически на каждом форуме есть тема, касательно ошибки 0x00000015, возникающей после подключения нового оборудования и инсталлирования к нему программного обеспечения. Если при подключении принтера или сканера у вас появилась ошибка с кодом 0x00000015, стоит выполнить следующие действия:
- Устанавливаем Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5.1;
- Проверяем, чтобы была включена Служба загрузки изображений Windows (WIA);
- Переустанавливаем программное обеспечение к оборудованию. Если оно не работает, пробуем запустить его в режиме совместимости;
- Отключаем на время антивирус или удаляем его вовсе, если это Касперский;
- Заново подключаем устройство и проверяем, работает ли устройство и сама операционная система.
На форуме Microsoft указано, что при возникновении ошибки 0x00000015 после подключения новых устройств, стоит обновить операционную систему и драйвера. Однако этот метод может не принести положительного результата. Перед обновлением нужно создать точку восстановления системы.
Решение: Если ошибка 0x00000015 появляется на синем экране смерти LAST_CHANCE_CALLED_FROM_KMODE
Если ошибка 0x00000015 появляется на синем экране смерти, то действия по её решению будут следующими.
Проверяем Windows 7 на целостность системных файлов с помощью утилиты sfc /scannow, которую нужно запускать от имени Администратора.
Также не помешает прогнать систему утилитой DISM. Для её запуска в командной строке с правами Администратора вводим DISM /?, чтобы посмотреть все команды. Далее выбираем нужную команду.
Также рекомендуем проверить жесткий диск на ошибки. Стоит скачать программу MHDD или Victoria HDD. Обе программы рекомендуем записать на диск или флешку и запустить из-под Windows, предварительно выставив в BIOS-е приоритетность загрузки со съемного носителя.
Если вы давно не обновляли драйвера и саму операционную систему, а ошибка возникла посла установки какой-либо программы, то, возможно, стоит обновить драйвера и саму Windows. Вероятно, какой-то компонент программы не совместим и конфликтует со старым программным обеспечением. Обновление драйверов можно выполнить вручную через Диспетчер устройств, предварительно загрузив с официального сайта разработчика оборудования актуальные драйвера. Или же можно воспользоваться программами для поиска и обновления драйверов.
Если вышеуказанные рекомендации не помогли решить проблему, стоит выполнить откат системы до более раннего состояния, используя точку восстановления системы, Live CD или образ. Если и откати не дал положительных результатов, переустановка Windows 7 вам в помощь.

У меня есть многофункциональный принтер Brother DCP-7010R, который я хочу подключить к своему настольному компьютеру (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1).
Сразу хочу сказать, что при подключении МФУ к ноутбуку (Windows 8.1 64-бит) драйверы устанавливаются автоматически и принтер, сканер работает нормально.
Вернемся к настольному компьютеру. После установки драйверов (скачанных с официального сайта Brother для 64-разрядной версии Windows 7) и подключения МФУ к компьютеру он обнаруживает только принтер и работает у меня (я пробовал печатать — ок), сканер не обнаруживается.
При попытке сканирования выдает ошибку:
«Операция не может быть завершена (ошибка 0x00000015). Устройство не готово.»
Прикрепляю экран печати 1:
Во время установки пакета Brother у меня была установлена «Диагностика установки». Вы можете увидеть результат этой программы (экран 2 прилагается):
В пакет Brother также входит ControlCenter3. При попытке просканировать через эту программу выдает ошибку:
«Не удается подключиться к устройству.
-Если устройство выключено, включите его.
— Проверьте подключение соединительного кабеля между устройством и компьютером.
— Если продукт выполняет другое задание, дождитесь завершения задания и повторите попытку. [TW006]».

При нажатии «ОК» появляется следующая ошибка (прилагаю принскрин 4):
Я пробовал установить ABBYY FineReader. При попытке сканирования отображается ошибка, аналогичная предыдущей.

На основании описанных выше экспериментов можно с уверенностью сказать, что проблема кроется в операционной системе, и поэтому пишу вам. Облез много форумов и сразу отвечу на самые часто задаваемые вопросы:
— У меня Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5.1.
— Служба загрузки образов Windows (WIA) активна и находится в режиме автозапуска.
И главный вопрос. В чем может быть причина того, что сканер не хочет устанавливать? По этой причине я не очень хочу переустанавливать Windows.
