Pl sql developer initialization error could not initialize oci dll

Could not locate OCI dll

I have OracleEx 10g and Odp.NET 11g (ODTwithODAC1110620.exe) installed on my machine, now when I try to install OUnit11 I got the error as title.

I have in my enviroment variables «PATH» the following:
C:appahmadproduct11.1.0client_1; (this the path for odp.net 11g)
C:appahmadproduct11.1.0client_1bin; (this the path for odp.net11g)
C:oraclexeapporacleproduct10.2.0serverbin; (this for OracleEx 10g)

is it correct that the existence of two Oracle Home the envrioment variables causes this problem? if not, then how to fix the error I am getting?

Okay, I found this in the forums:

I don’t know if it is apply in my case because I right click on «C:app» but there is nothing called «authenticated users» in the users names!

so should I add it?

Aftering doing the same as you did, the error message no more appears, but now it gives me each time I try to log on «Not Logged On» message

When try to run PL/SQL Developer to connect to oracle Database the below error is shown

Solution:
1. Copy oci.dll from folder c:appuserproduct11.2.0client_1

2. Paste it in the folder c:appuserproduct11.2.0client_1bin

Now open your PL/SQL Developer.

it does not work, and an empty mgsBox appear with «Not Login » title.

Here is the solution:

1) Copy the OCI.DLL file from: C:appdavid.g.smithproduct11.1.0client_1 to C:appdavid.g.smithproduct11.1.0client_1bin
2) Open PL/SQL Developer.
3) Close the connection window
4) Go to Tools -> Preferences
5) Click on Oracle -> Connections
6) Put your OracleHomePath into OracleHome
7) Put your OCI.DLL path on OCI library:
C:appdavid.g.smithproduct11.1.0client_1binoci.dll
Click on Force OCI7 mode on OCI8
9) Click Apply, Click Ok. Restart the PL/SQL Developer and try to connect.

It worked for me.

I am using PL/SQL Developer version 11 on Windows 10 64bit and I keep getting the following error message:

«Initialization error
Could not initialize

. I have installed the following versions of the Oracle Client:
— Instant Client 11.3 (32bit)
— Instant Client 12.1 (32bit)
— Oracle client 11.2 (32bit)
I configure the IDE under tools/preferences to set the Oracle home and OCI library to point to the above client.
I also set the TNS_ADMiN environment variable.
All of the above to no avail. Please help.
