Когда употребляется Present Simple?

Время Present Simple используется в предложениях, где говорится о действиях в широком смысле слова. Подобные высказывания сообщают о привычках, увлечениях, ежедневно повторяющихся действиях:

• I get up at six o’clock every day. — Я встаю в шесть часов каждый день.
• She cleans her teeth after breakfast. — Она чистит зубы после завтрака.
• We go for a walk on Sundays. — Мы ходим гулять по воскресеньям.

Как видите, глаголы в Present Simple сообщают о том, что происходит постоянно или с определенной периодичностью (утренний подъем, чистка зубов, учеба в школе, работа и т.д.).

Следующий вариант использования простого настоящего времени — описание общеизвестных фактов, законов природы:

• Ice melts at zero degrees Celsius — Лед тает при температуре ноль градусов по Цельсию.

Глагольные и безглагольные предложения в Present Simple

Глагольными называются предложения, где присутствует основной (смысловой) глагол. Смысловые глаголы обозначают действие: go, sleep, think, eat, sing, play, teach и т. д. В безглагольных предложениях смыслового глагола нет, его заменяет соответствующая форма глагола to be (am, is, are). Безглагольные конструкции нужны для описания кого-либо или чего-либо, сообщения местоположения, рассказа о каком-то факте. Разберем на примерах.

Примеры глагольных предложений:

• She goes to school every day. — Она ходит в школу каждый день.
• He does not sing very well. — Он поет не очень хорошо.
• Do they cry all the time? — Они кричат все время?

Примеры безглагольных предложений:

• I am eight. – Мне восемь лет.
• He is from Russia. – Он из России.
• Daddy is home now. – Папа дома сейчас.

Как построить предложение в Present Simple?

Приведем основное правило Present Simple:

Чтобы поставить английский глагол в предложении в форму простого настоящего времени, нужно убрать из инфинитива частицу «to» и поместить глагол после подлежащего. Если подлежащее в предложении стоит в 3-м лице единственного числа (she/he/it), то к глаголу добавляется окончание -s (-es).

Утвердительные предложения строятся так:

1. Подлежащее (I, we, you, they) + глагол
2. Подлежащее (he, she, it) + глагол с окончанием s (es)

Пример:

• They go to school every day. – Они ходят в школу каждый день.
• You play the piano in the evenings. – Ты играешь на пианино по вечерам.
• It rains in autumn. – Осенью идет дождь.

Отрицательные предложения строятся так:

Чтобы предложение стало отрицательным, поставьте вспомогательный глагол «to do» с частицей «not» между подлежащим и основным (смысловым) глаголом.

1. Подлежащее (I, we, you, they) + do not (don’t) + глагол
2. Подлежащее (he, she, it) + does not (doesn’t) + глагол

Пример:

• We don’t play basketball on Saturdays. – Мы не играем в баскетбол по субботам.

Чтобы построить общий вопрос в Present Simple, поставьте вспомогательный глагол «to do» в начало предложения, перед подлежащим со стоящим за ним смысловым глаголом:

1. Do + подлежащее (I, we, you, they) + глагол ?
2. Does + подлежащее (he, she, it) + глагол ?

Пример:

Специальные вопросы строятся почти также, как и общие. Отличаются они от общих только наличием специальных вопросительных слов, question words (QW) перед вспомогательным глаголом.

К вопросительным словам и фразам относятся: how long, who, what, why, where, when и тому подобные. Они помогают сформулировать вопрос точнее. Схема построения специального вопроса в Present Simple выглядит так:

QW + вспомогательный глагол (do или does) + подлежащее (I, you, we, they, he, she, it) + глагол ?

Пример:

Where do they go on vacation? — Куда они ездят на каникулы?

Обратите внимание, что при наличии вспомогательного глагола «to do» в предложении с Present Simple, окончание -s добавляется к нему, а не к основному глаголу. Это актуально для отрицательных и вопросительных предложений.

Когда используется окончание -s, а когда -es?

Мы помним, что если подлежащее имеет форму 3-го лица единственного числа (she, he, it), то для образования Present Simple к начальной форме глагола надо добавить окончание -s:

• I walk – He walks
• We hear – She hears 

В некоторых случаях вместо -s добавляется окончание -es:

1. Глагол заканчивается на -ss, -sh, -ch, -s, -o, -x (we search – she searches).
2. Глагол заканчивается на -y, перед которой стоит гласная (I play — he plays).
3. Глагол заканчивается на -y, перед которой стоит согласная. Также в этой ситуации -y меняется на -i (you fly – she flies).

Задания на Present Simple для детей 1 и 2 класса

Главная особенность обучения самых юных учеников заключается в том, что они легче запоминают яркие образы. Также усвоение новой информации идет у них наиболее эффективно во время игры, когда дети могут двигаться, щупать, пробовать, рассматривать что-то новое. Поэтому для изучения и отработки Present Simple с детьми 1 и 2 класса предлагаем использовать игровые методики.

Прежде всего убедитесь, что дети знакомы с основными местоимениями: I, you, she, he, it, we, they. Затем приступайте к новой теме, начиная ее изучение с форм глагола «to be» в Present Simple. Для этого покажите детям видеоролик, разучите с ними песенку или расскажите грамматическую сказку. После разбора переходите к играм и практическим упражнениям для закрепления сочетаний глагола to be с разными местоимениями.

Хлопаем в ладоши

Учитель озвучивает фразы с глаголом «to be», используя знакомую детям лексику, например:

My coat is black.
I am eight.
My mum is a doctor.

Дети дважды хлопают в ладоши, если это предложение действительно про них. Далее учитель может передать эстафету одному или нескольким ученикам, так они дополнительно попрактикуются в применении глагола to be.

Ты говоришь — я рисую

Это парная игра, в процессе которой один ученик рисует человека, а второй устно описывает на английском, как должен выглядеть нарисованный человек. К пример: «It is a man. His hair is fair. His eyes are green. He is tall. His ears are little. His trousers are brown. His sweater is red». Чтобы ученики лучше поняли принцип игры, сначала может рисовать учитель. При этом дети говорят ему, что именно рисовать.

Испорченный телефон

Дети садятся в круг. Один из учеников говорит на ухо второму фразу в Present Simple с глаголом «to be», например: «I am angry». Второй ученик меняет ее так, чтобы получилось предложение в 3-м лице: «She is angry». Далее фраза передается от одного ребенка к другому шепотом без изменений.

Когда этот навык отработан, можно переходить к заданиям, в которых нужно поставить смысловой или вспомогательный глагол в форму простого настоящего времени, чтобы получилось грамотное утвердительное, вопросительное либо отрицательное предложение.
