What can I do if getting Printer Busy or Error?
1. Clear the print queue
- Select Start.
- Then, type Command.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Type net stop spooler then hit Enter.
- Then, type del %systemroot%System32spoolprinters* /Q followed by Enter.
- Type net start spooler and press Enter.
- Type exit first, then press Enter to fully exit the command window.
If you have a long list of print jobs in Microsoft Windows 10, the tasks are usually set in a queue and completed in a row. Documents waiting in line to be printed are displayed in the print queue.

3. Uninstall the printer and re-install
- Go to Control Panel >Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the printer you wish to remove and select Printer Properties.
- Up next, select Remove device.
- Click Print server properties at the top of the window.
- Then, click on the Drivers tab and highlight the printer driver to uninstall.
- Click the Remove button.
- Select Remove driver and driver package and click OK.
- If the printer is plugged into the computer via USB, you need to unplug the USB cable.
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, look for and uninstall any printer software related to the printer you removed from Devices and Printers.
- If a message appears about access denied or the printer in use, reboot the computer.
- Finally, locate driver software to reinstall this printer.
When you are still facing issues and none of the previous solutions are working, try uninstalling the printer and reinstalling it.
If the driver cannot be removed after applying the above steps, restart the computer in a diagnostic startup. Then, use the printui /s /t2 command to remove the driver packages.
If these steps do not correct the problem, do a firmware upgrade on the printer and make sure the printer is not out of paper. It’s also worth checking whether it’s malware or not causing the Printer Busy or Error message you’re seeing.

I’m working on a persistent problem with a specific printer where I work. A bit of background: Primarily, this printer is being utilized by users on WYSE thin clients connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM via an RDP session, however, some users are
connecting to it using Windows 7 Professional. It is a network printer on our corporate domain installed as a local printer on a print server, and also as a local printer on the RDP server in use by the thin client users. Now, the printer works perfectly to
print test pages, Word Documents, etc. However, the problem arises when my users need to print PDF documents, for which they primarily use Adobe Acrobat 2011, though some also use the latest version of Reader (we update Reader generally as the new versions
are released). When they attempt to print these documents, the print queue will say spooling (page 1/2/3, etc), and then it will immediately change status to Printer Busy or Error. When this occurs, until the job is cancelled, no other jobs will process, no
matter the type of document. And to further complicate matters, one of the primary users of this printer says it’s not even every PDF, just some, and there doesn’t seem to be a consistent difference between those that won’t print, and those that will. The
printer in question is a Xerox Workcentre 7345, and I have tried installing the latest drivers, both the PS and PCL6 versions, and attempted to use the driver for the Fiery controller, all giving the same result. I’ve installed the printer as a network shared
printer off of the print server, and I’ve installed it locally to the RDP server. All cases result in the same «Printer Busy or Error». I’ve also tried bypassing the spooler, and printing the document as an image, both separately and with both settings
set. I’m at a loss, and my users can no longer reliably use this printer to print PDFs… I’d appreciate any suggestions on what to do at this point. Thanks.

Please test to see whether this issue occurs when logged on locally into the RDP server.
You may also fully patch RDP server to see whether the issue persists.
In addition, since the issue only occurs with Xerox Workcentre 7345 as you mentioned, I would suggest you contact their support to find out whether this is an issue from the driver side.
