Explanation of Chrome Error 118
Chrome Error 118 is also considered a runtime error (bug). Software developers such as Google Inc. usually take Google Chrome through multiple levels of debugging to weed out these bugs before being released to the public. Regrettably, issues such as error 118 might not get fixed at this final stage.
Some individuals can experience the message «Chrome Error 118» while running the software. At the time the error 118 is encountered, the end-user can report the issue to Google Inc.. Google Inc. can correct the issues that were discovered, then upload a revised source code file, letting users update their version. In order to correct any documented errors (like error 118) in the system, the developer can make use of a Google Chrome update kit.
How Runtime Error 118 Triggers, and What Is It?
You will have a failure during execution of Google Chrome if you run into Chrome Error 118 during runtime. The three common reasons why runtime errors like error 118 pop-up:
Error 118 Crash — Error number will trigger computer system lock-up, preventing you from using the program. This arises when Google Chrome fails to function properly, or does not know what output would be suitable.
Chrome Error 118 Memory Leak — The consequences of a Google Chrome memory leak involve a malfunctioning operating system. Potential triggers may be «infinite loop», or when the program performs a «loop» or repetition over and over again.
Error 118 Logic Error — A logical error occurs when the computer produces the wrong output, even if the input is right. It materializes when Google Inc.’s source code is flawed due to faulty design.
File corruption, missing, or deleted Chrome Error 118 files can result in Google Chrome errors. If your Google Inc. file is suffering from one of those troubles, replacing it with a fresh file should resolve the issue. In some cases, the Windows registry is attempting to load a Chrome Error 118 file that no longer exists, therefore we recommend running a registry scan to repair any invalid file path references.
Typical Chrome Error 118 Errors
Encountered Chrome Error 118 Problems with Google Chrome Include:
- «Chrome Error 118 Software Error.»
- «Chrome Error 118 not valid.»
- «Sorry for the inconvenience — Chrome Error 118 has a problem.»
- «Sorry, we can’t find Chrome Error 118.»
- «Chrome Error 118 is missing.»
- «Start-up error in application: Chrome Error 118.»
- «Can’t run Chrome Error 118.»
- «Chrome Error 118 quit.»
- «Software Path Fault: Chrome Error 118.»
These Google Inc. error messages can appear during program installation, while a Chrome Error 118-related software program (eg. Google Chrome) is running, during Windows startup or shutdown, or even during the installation of the Windows operating system. It’s important to note when Chrome Error 118 issues happen, as it helps troubleshoot Google Chrome problems (and report to Google Inc.).
Origins of Chrome Error 118 Troubles
Chrome Error 118 problems can be attributed to corrupt or missing files, invalid registry entries associated with Chrome Error 118, or a virus / malware infection.
Especially, Chrome Error 118 errors stem from:
- Corrupted or invalid Chrome Error 118 registry entry.
- Virus or malware corrupting Chrome Error 118.
- Malicious deletion (or mistaken) of Chrome Error 118 by another application (not Google Chrome).
- Another program conflicting with Chrome Error 118 or another Google Chrome shared reference.
- Google Chrome / Chrome Error 118 corrupt from incomplete download or install.

I have had to reinstall FPSC about two times in the past 24 hours, because of the runtime error.
I installed FPSC, installed update 1.03, installed model pack 3 to the desk top in its own folder and copied the folders, not the patch, to my FPSC folder. When I start FPSC I get the runtime error.
Iam starting to get really annoyed. I have already lost my level for the contest, because an issue with the error screwed up the file, dont ask me how, it just did.
Ive attached the error dialog.
I dont want smart arse replies, as Ive said, Iam already annoyed enough.

Love how people are so protective of their work that they don’t realize there are hundreds of things others might notice that they don’t notice in an error screen.
Okay, first, stop reinstalling FPSC, this is a known bug.
Second, Don’t delete the file.
Third, go to testbank and copy the .zip files in that folder. (it may be level bank)
Come back when you have these things, I will attempt to help you recover your map. (Everything but the actual ‘map’ is stored in the level.zip’s)

I cant use FPSC at all, because when I load it up, it gives me that error and I have to close it. Iam not a noob to FPSC, I know why the error has happened, Iam just ranting about it because Iam not too happy. Anyway, my level is gone, so I cant back it up, its been deleted.

Works For Me
Free, and can recover from anysize. Not that good at detection though.
FileRecovery services might not work, but it is a start.

Thanks Les, but its not that big of a worry, the level wasnt any thing I couldnt remake, I had only just started it. Its the fact I get the error using the model pack 3 models.

I think it only happened due to what I did:
