Web service parse error

Answered by:

Question

I’ve created a web service in VS and when I run in debugging mode, everything work fine.

When I attempt to upload the web service files (*.asmx & *.asmx.cs) to the web server I get the following error message:

Parser Error

Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not create type ‘UpdaterWS.Service1’.

Here is the interesting part. I found that if I combined the code contents of «Service1.asmx.cs» into the «Service1.asmx» file, then the error message goes away. The solution works, however, Visual Studio complains when it finds two different syntaxes in the same file (ASPX and C#).

Contents of combined «Service1.asmx»:

Has anyone else experienced the same problem before? Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

Yeah, the inline code wouldn’t work if it wasn’t running under asp.net. Creating a folder called bin doesn’t automatically make it a bin folder. It needs to be in the root of the virtual directory. I bet that is your problem.

Have you copied the appropriate dlls and or put code files in the app_code folder?

At the present time, I just copy the entire contents of my solution directly to the web server via. FTP. The «UpdaterWS.dll» DLL is being copied over, which is located inside the /bin directory.

Based on some other posts I’ve located, I’ve made sure that my Serivce1.asmx ‘build action’ is set to «Content» and that the Service1.asmx.cs is set to «Compile»

I do not have an «App_Code» directory, and I’m not sure how that would help even if I did. Both files: Service1.asmx and Service1.asmx.cs are located under the root.

Did you create a virtual directory? Is the bin within that virtual directory? Are you certain the IIS website is running under the right version of asp.net?

I am using a shared hosting provider, so I don’t believe the web service is getting it’s own virtual directory. If necessary, I’ll contact them and see if they can create one for me.

As far as the ASP.NET version goes, the whole app is running on 2.0, that much I know for sure.

I would like to emphasize that the web service does work when I concatenate the contents of Service1.asmx.cs into the Service1.asmx (minus the CodeBehind= attribute). The «parse error» occurs only when I publish the files seperately as Serice1.asmx and Service1.asmx.cs. It’s just really weired. With that said, should I still contact my provider and see if a virtual directory can be created or does this indicate there’s somthing else going on here?

Thanks for your help thus far!

Web service parse error

Question

I stumbled into the web services world this week in an attempt to develop custom apps for wireless devices. I’m new and clueless! I went to Visual Studio 2005 and chose a template for a web service, which created a simple service that returns the string «Hello, World» The only changes I made were to remove authentication from the web config and to add a reference to the project to create the wsdl, etc. Then I published it to a directory on our web server.

When I put the ULR in the web browser, I get this error:

Could you please check the following:

1. Check that the Class specified in the asmx file is the same name as the name of the public class in the project that implements your web service. For example, will need to be changed to if your class happens to be named MyService

2. Check if the public class in your project is inside a namespace. If so, please provide a fully qualified name in the asmx file. For example, if Service happens to be in namespace A.B.C, the asmx file should indicate

3. Check that the folders referenced in the ASMX file physically exist in the folder that your virtual directory is mapped to.

4. Check your IIS setup and that ASP 2.0 is supported

Web service parse error

The following sections describe troubleshooting topics related to WebLogic Web Services:

Turning on Verbose Mode

Use the weblogic.soap.verbose initial context factory property in your client application to print out the SOAP messages that pass between WebLogic Server and the client application, as well as any errors produced by WebLogic Server.

In the following example, a client application that invokes a WebLogic Web Service has the weblogic.soap.verbose initial context factory property set to true to enable verbose mode:

The output is printed to the shell from which you execute the client application. Use this output to troubleshoot problems you encounter while invoking a Web service.

Your client application, while attempting to invoke a WebLogic Web Service, throws the java.io.FileNotFoundException exception.

The problem could be caused by the following:

The WebLogic Web Service is not currently deployed on WebLogic Server.

The Web application that contains the SOAP servlets is not targeted for the correct instance of WebLogic Server.

If you are invoking an RPC-style Web service, the stateless session EJB that implements the Web service is not targeted for the correct instance of WebLogic Server.

  • If you are invoking a message-style Web service, the JMS Server or Connection Factory is not targeted for the correct instance of WebLogic Server.
  • The output from a java.io.FileNotFoundException error might look like the following:

If this error occurs when you attempt to invoke a WebLogic Web Service, follow these steps to ensure that the Web service and its components are correctly deployed and targeted:

Invoke the Administration Console in your browser. See Invoking the Administration Console for details.

In the left pane, click to expand the Applications node under the Deployments node.

Click on the Enterprise Application that corresponds to the WebLogic Web Service that you are attempting to invoke.

In the right pane, if the Deployed check box is not selected, select it and click the Apply button.

In the left pane, under the Enterprise application that corresponds to your Web service, click the Web application that contains the SOAP servlets. The default name of this Web application is web-services .

In the right pane, select the Targets tab.

If it is not already there, move the name of the WebLogic Server instance on which the Web application should be running from the Available to the Chosen list box. Click Apply.

If you are attempting to invoke an RPC-style WebLogic Web Service, follow these steps:

In the left pane, under the Enterprise application that corresponds to your Web service, click on the name of the EJB jar file.

In the right pane, select the Targets tab.

If it is not already there, move the name of the WebLogic Server instance on which the EJB should be running from the Available to the Chosen list box and click Apply.

If you are attempting to invoke a message-style Web service, follow these steps:

In the left pane, click to expand the JMS node under the Services node.

Click to expand the Connection Factories node.

In the right pane, click the name of the JMS Connection Factory that you configured for the message-style Web service that you are trying to invoke.

    Select the Targets tab.

If it is not already there, move the name of the WebLogic Server instance for which the Connection Factory should be targeted from the Available to the Chosen list box. Click Apply.

In the right pane, click to expand the Servers node under the JMS node.

Click the name of the JMS server which your message-style Web service is using.

In the right pane, select the Targets tab.

  • If it is not already there, move the name of the WebLogic Server for which the JMS Server is targeted from the Available to the Chosen list box and click Apply.
  • Unable to Parse Exception

The client application receives an «Unable to Parse» exception.

The client API used to invoke Web Services uses the WebLogic FastParser to parse the WSDL and SOAP messages from the invoked Web service. If the WSDL or SOAP message from the Web service is not well-formed, the client application might receive an Unable to Parse error.

For example, if a Web service’s WSDL file is not well-formed because of an element specifying two attributes with the same name, the client application produces the following error:

Contact the Web service provider to ensure that the Web service produces well-formed WSDL and SOAP messages.

Your client application gets a java.lang.NullPointerException error in the methods in the weblogic.soap.wsdl.binding.* classes.

One possible explanation is that the Web service’s WSDL or SOAP messages, although possibly well-formed, are not valid.

For example, if the Web service’s WSDL references an inputs element rather than the correct input , then the client application produces the following error:

Contact the Web service host and ensure that the Web service produces valid WSDL and SOAP messages.

    Your client application gets a java.net.ConnectException .

One possible explanation is that the Web service is unreachable. In particular:

If the client application is attempting to invoke a WebLogic Web Service, the application receives a Connection refused error if WebLogic Server is not currently running.

  • If the client application is attempting to invoke a non-WebLogic Web Service, the application receives an Operation timed out error after a few minutes if the host is unreachable for any reason.
  • For example, if the client application attempts to invoke a WebLogic Web Service from a WebLogic Server instance that is currently not running, the application receives the following error:

Either restart WebLogic Server, or contact the Web service host and ensure that the Web service is reachable.

For information about starting WebLogic Server, see WebLogic Server Administration Guide.

@Iveria, у вас версия PHP ниже 5.4, а короткий синтаксис объявления массивов [ ] поддерживается, начиная именно с этой версии. Или же обновите версию PHP, что крайне желательно или же используйте обычный синтаксис — array()

      1. $this->get(‘metadata’)->get(array(‘app’, ‘fileStorage’, ‘implementationClassNameMap’))

      Не стоит. Основные варианты:

      • Если хочется локалку и просто, то современную сборку (XAMPP, Open Server и др.). PHP должен быть минимум 7.1 (в крайнем случае 7.0)
      • Если хочется локалку чуть более интересно, то можно самому поднять стек на windows (я, кстати, по началу, так и делал). PHP 7.1, mysql 5.7, apache 2.4 или ngnix (не знаю, какая последняя версия)
      • Если хочется локалку, но чтоб как на хостинге — поднять Linux в виртуальной машине, настроить стек там.
      • Ну или взять хостинг. Я, к примеру, купил на ihor.ru за 250 рублей в месяц VPS специально для разработки, и поиграться. Но на локалке у меня тоже есть, XAMPP

When you want to install an application on your computer, you may find that the installation fails and you receive a Parse Error. This Android Parse Error can be caused by many reasons and the solutions are various. Now, in this post, MiniTool Software will show you what is Parse Error and effectively how to get rid of it.

    What Is Parse Error?

The Parse Error is an error message you may receive on your Android phone when an application fails to install. This error message is not a complex message and it can be caused by many reasons.

This error always follows a message: There was a problem parsing the package. When you see this Android Parse Error, you can know that your Android phone can’t install the current app due to some reason.

The Parse error Android issue always happens when you try to install an application that is downloaded from a third-party source rather than the official Google Play Store. In a few cases, you can also receive this error message when you try to install the app that is downloaded from Google Play Store.

Perhaps, you still need to install this application and use it. In this post, we will try to explain the main causes of this issue and then show you some possible solutions that can get rid of this issue effectively.

The Reasons for Android Parse Error

The main reasons for Parse error on Android are as follows:

    • The application that you want to install is not compatible with your Android device.
    • Your device doesn’t have permission to install this app.
    • The app file you want to install is corrupt, incomplete, or damaged.
    • The installation process is blocked by antivirus or security software.
    • There is something wrong with your Android device.
    • The app you want to install has been changed.

We also search for this issue on the internet and collect some solutions that can be used to fix it completely. You can read the following part to obtain a suitable one to get rid of your actual issue.

How to Fix Parse Error on Android?

If you don’t know the exact reason for your Android Parse error issue, you can try these methods one by one until finding the suitable one.

    Solution 1: Update Android

Perhaps, the app is not compatible with your old Android OS. Then, you can update your Android to the latest version to see whether the Android parse error is disappeared.

Solution 2: Modify Permission on Your Android

If the permission to install apps from unknown sources is disabled, Android Parse Error can also occur.

Usually, to guarantee the safety of your Android, you’d better disable such permission so as to prevent your Android from downloading malware from third-party sources as well as other issues. But, if you still want to download and use the app that comes from a third-party source, you can enable this permission temporarily and then download & install it on your computer.

Solution 3: Download and Install the App Again

If the app file is corrupted or incomplete, you can download and install the app again to get rid of the Android Parse Error.

You can use the original download source or you can also try a new trusted source. Besides, you can also try a new browser to get the APK file.

Solution 4: Temporarily Disable Android Antivirus Software

At times, the Android antivirus software regards the app installation file as a virus and then stops you from installing it. Thus, if you are sure the file you download is safe, you can temporarily disable your Android antivirus software to see whether the Parse Error disappears.

    Solution 5: Enable USB Debugging

Some users reflect that the Parse Error disappears after enabling the USB debugging on the Android device. So, you can also try this method on your device.

Solution 6: Restore Your Android to Factory Settings

If all of the above solutions can’t solve your issue, restoring Android to factory settings will be the last resort. But, this method will delete all files on your Android device. You need to think about whether it is necessary to do this.

If you really want to use this method, you can refer to this post to deal with your Android data: Solved — How to Recover Data after Factory Reset Android.
