Installation failed – Please check your internet connection

This error is displayed when Waves Central is unable to access our servers to download files, or is having an issue synchronizing with our servers.

Try each of the following steps, one at a time, then try to install again.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step.

Access Waves Central’s Settings tab, then press Clear next to ‘Clear Central cache.’
Restart your computer.
In case Internet connection is available but the issue persists, please try replacing Network (Ethernet) cable/s or connect to a different Wi-Fi Network.
If you are using any firewall, antivirus protection software or browser add-ons, add an exception for Waves Central in the software’s settings, or temporarily disable these software programs and add-ons one by one to eliminate the possibility that Waves Central has been blocked by such programs. A list of such apps can be found in General Troubleshooting Tip #6 at the bottom of this page.
This error may also occur if the sample library location is not accessible to Waves Central.
- Access Waves Central’s Settings tab, then press Change next to ‘Sample libraries data folder.
- Set the location to: Applications > Waves > Data > Instrument Data.

Installation failed – Please quit audio applications and retry

If any Audio application is currently open, Waves Central will have an issue writing files to your system.

Try each of the following steps, one at a time, then try to install again.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step.

Quit all open audio applications, then re-launch Waves Central.
If the error persists, quit any other open applications, and re-launch Waves Central.
Restart your computer.
Once installation has started, avoid launching any other applications (including DAWs and other music applications).

Installation failed – Please restart or contact support if repeats

This means that Waves Central is encountering an issue when attempting to write files to your computer..

Try each of the following steps, one at a time, then try to install again.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step.

Quit all running programs/applications except for Waves Central.
Access Waves Central’s Settings tab, then press Clear next to ‘Clear Central cache.’

Installation failed – The user hasn’t granted permission

This is often displayed when Waves Central encounters a permission issue when trying to read or write a file to or from your drive:

If you are prompted with a ‘Waves Central wants to make changes’ message, please allow this by clicking ‘Yes’ in Windows or by typing your Mac’s System User and Password in order to grant proper permissions.

Try each of the following steps, one at a time, then try to install again.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step.

Ensure you have granted Waves Central permission to run its processes:
- Windows: After clicking ‘Install’, click Yes when prompted by a message that reads ‘Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?’
- Mac: After clicking ‘Install’, enter your Mac’s Username and Password when prompted, then click OK.
Close all currently running programs/applications except for Waves Central.
In Windows: Right-click Waves Central, and choose ‘Run as Administrator.’
Restart your computer.
Verify that you have Administrator privileges on your operating system.
If you do not, or if the issue persists, create a new Administrator user account.

General Waves Central Troubleshooting Tips:

Access Waves Central’s ‘Settings‘ page and run the ‘Fix permissions and ownership‘ process.
Windows users: Set User Account Control Settings to “Never Notify”:
- Press the [Win key], type UAC and click Change User Account Control settings.
- Move the slider to the Never notify position, and click OK. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- Restart your computer to apply this change.
Make sure the system Time and Date are correct. If they aren’t, set them correctly and then re-launch Waves Central.
If you are connected to the internet via proxy, temporarily disable it.
- Windows: Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click the LAN Settings button and uncheck Use proxy server for your LAN.
- Mac: Go to the System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies tab.
  Under Proxies, make sure nothing is checked in the list.
If you are connected via a business network, ask your IT department or internet service provider (home connection) whether something might be preventing Waves Central from connecting to our servers and writing the required information.
Temporarily disable any of the following third-party security applications and add-ons you may have installed, if you are experiencing issues with Waves Central:
AdAware, AhnLab V3, Comodo, F-Secure, Hyper-V, Little Snitch, LuLu, MacKeeper, MagicPrefs, Nero Video Downloader Ultimate Pro, Premier Opinion, Radio Silence, SecureIT, Security Suite, STOPzilla antivirus, Wacom Controllers, Witch, Ziggo Safe Online
To rule out network issues (slow or unstable connection), connect your computer to a completely different network. If this is not possible, try using the offline installation method:
1. Download the Offline Installation Folder for Windows | Mac
2. Unzip the folder to your desktop
3. Browse to the offline installer folder you just unzipped. It will be named «Waves — xx.xx.xx«
4. Run the file named Install.cen
5. Waves Central will open on the Offline Installer page
6. From the list, select the plugins you wish to install
7. Click Install

Также, имя компьютера и учетная запись должны быть на латинице. В системе вы должны находится на правах администратора. В системе для этих плагинов у вас должны быть установлены Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010-2012-2013-2015-2017, а также .NET Framework. Не нужно создавать матрешки из 15 папок и качать туда. Из-за длинных имен файлов папок будет ошибка при установке. Качайте в корень диска.

1. Установить Install_Waves_Central.exe
2. Запустить его c:Program FilesWaves CentralWaves Central.exe

Waves Licensing Error

Hello, when I try to open some of my older projects that have a lot of tracks, instruments and Fx, everything loads fine except my Waves Plugins. I get an error message saying. «Waves Licensing Error» (Waves Plugin does not have a license. Please Check that you have a valid license.) It will do this for every waves plugin that is used in the project.

All of my waves plugins are updated and registered perfectly. They will load up on any new sessions and any older ones that don’t have a lot of tracks and memory usage.

Again, its ONLY when opening projects with high memory usage (Memory usage is high but not maxed out).

If anyone has had this problem and fixed it please let me know.

I have to go back and change a few tracks for a client but I can’t get into these sessions. This error message is causing me to lose money and reputation.
As every producer knows, its an absolute necessity to be able to open up older projects to tweak for their clients, so this problem needs to be fixed.

Tried offline and online method I always get an error during the install process

Sorry but this is not cracked well for all to use without problems

I fear if you did have an R2R version the waves installer Central knows that and cancel all process at some point

Even when you clean your registry….

So if you have a new computer that never ever received waves install then That is the reason it works for you guys

During install, and while being lazy about the whole ‘clean install’ thing, I discovered that the new Waves Central will look for the old version of the software and delete it before installing the update. So no need for a clean install. Nice.

I did have to disable my hosts file in order to log in to Waves Central and install. Once the install was done, I immediately re-enabled my hosts file.

The new update works flawlessly on my Windows 10 system in Studio One v3. Easiest install to date.

I don’t think adding the .dll files to the firewall is necessary, but for those who want to, the software that I use is called Windows Firewall Control. It allows you to add .dll and many other file types to the firewall with a right-click menu selection.

Reckon I’ll stick with prior version for now and forgo the new plugs.

Clean install means removing previous install. You will still have access to the
same plugins plus any new ones or updates.

Waves was asking for waveshell folder until i moved the old wavshells out of the vst folder.. Does any one know if i need one or both for anything or can i safely say bye bye?

The one that came with this is WaveShell-VST 9.6_X64.dll

The ones in my folder already are 9.61_x64.dll & 9.3_x64.dll

9.61 sounds newer but is from 2015.

Do what you think is best for you. This has been my method for some time and serves me well.
Don’t get plugins locking or going back into demo or limited mode.

I like to check web sites from time to time to see what’s going on. If they are blocked by the host file,
you have to manually unblock to visit the sites.

The new one is 9.6.44. Best to have started with a clean install but you may be
okay by just deleting the old Waveshells.

For some reason the so called fixed installer puts the plugins into the wrong folders by default:
C:Program FilesVSTplugins
and
C:Program FilesVSTplugins

You have to move the new Waveshells to the proper folders (your default VST folders).

No need to block DLLs. Just block the EXEs or add the «127.0.0.1 register.waves.com» to «hosts» file. That will do.

I have a different point of view to the popular information about the built-in Win Firewall and his work protecting dll’s from outside checks and intrussions.

Is a common mistake to believe that because there are no standard context menu to protect files like .dll, but in fact you can create rules including all kind of files from the command line. I recentrly made a Windows batch file to do that, so if I can help feel free to use it, and don’t hesitate to share or modify the code as your needs….is a present for you guys

Instructions:
— Download it from here:

— Follow the link, download the file: «PluginProtector.zip»
— Place it uncompressed
«PluginProtector.bat» in the root of the folder that contains the files you want to protect.
— Note that it wil scan for files recursivelly, so if you don’t have any file that needs to use your network connection is a good idea to put and execute it, for example, in the root of your «VstPlugins» folder and the script rill take care of all the files/subfolders inside it.
— Open «CMD» as an Admin and go to the folder where you placed the «Pluginprotector.bat» file
(cd….)
— Execute the file like this: Pluginprotector «TheNameYouWant» (without quotes). It will scan for .dll, .ocx, .exe, .vst3 files in the folder and subfolders, as I said.
— When the process will finnish, take a look in your IN and Out firewall rules (you can reach them in your Control Panel) et…..VOILA! you will see your brand new rule working instantlly.

— Important: Take note that this script was developed for private brand use
and intensivelly tested, probing that is completelly sure for the systems of the brand.
I’m releasing it for free to the Audiosex community. So me or neither «Millbrook Audio» DON’T have any responability of the use of that tool.

It really REALLY works on win7, no matter what version was installed before. Just take care that you:

— completely uninstall previous version

— remove leftovers (folders, dlls…)

— remove all the registry entries (use Revo or similar)

As I understand you’ve had problems (like many others) with Waves Central download. This means that you did not even use the patch – how would you know if it works or not? Try different route (hope you are using protection..) and good luck.

if you’ll plan to reuse (later) for future reinstallation, by using Offline package you’ve previously made first time (and backuped), it’s not necessary to login from Waves Central utility, also you’ll can keep «127.0.0.1 register.waves.com» in your «hosts» file, it works fine, I’ve tested this option this morning on fresh Windows 7 computer (after Acronis image restore) and working like a charm! I have updated all my plugins that were still under WUP. Now when I go to Waves Central none of my version 9.92 show up, only the 10 versions. I need to install all my plugins on a new pc but apparently I can only install the versions 10. Anyone else have this issue?

So I am not clear on your specific question. But here goes! : )

The new WC won’t install V9 plugins. You will have to go to the Waves site and look up WC Legacy versions to install V9.

If you still have V9 install on the PC your trying to see them on, make sure you have your V9 licenses on that computer. My understanding of it is that V10 licenses are separate from V9 licenses.

I think you have to download that mega legacy installer package (even if you have only few v9 plugins) and install the v9 plugins separately. That’s why I mistrust such almighty installer programs like Waves Central. Thus and because of the unkind business model I have stopped using Waves plugins, removed all.

Thanks Grem. I downloaded the legacy waves central for version 9 but its an offline installer. I’m trying to install all my waves plugins both 9 and 10 versions so this pc has no previous install. The offline installer askes to point to a folder which I believe it’s looking for the v9 plugins which are not there. I don’t know if it’s possible now to install my V9 plugins. If they expect me to WUP all my v9’s which is most of my waves plugins they can go you know what. I appreciate your help and any further help you can give.

I had trouble finding the right folder to point to also. I did find it though. I think the problem I had was not clicking the button at the bottom of the box. It would say folder not found at the top of the box.
If you downloaded the off line installer and unzipped it:
1 Install in Waves Central
2 Off line Installer
3 select the unzipped folder (always right click and select)
4 Waves 24.5.18
5 Select Installers
6 cache and V9 will show up on top part of box
at bottom of box it says Folder: Installers
7 click on Select Folder at bottom right of box
8 the plugins will show up in center of Waves Central

Thanks so much. You got me to where I can see and install my plugins but for some reason I get this error within a couple of seconds in to the install (an error has occurred during installation please follow the steps in this troubleshooter) and there is no troubleshooter to be had. Not sure what to do now. Do these companies want us to use their plugins or what? Why do we go through all this crap and still pay them more money?

Not sure why your getting the error message, but it’s worth a try to see if Waves Support will respond.

I know that sometimes you have to do a manual uninstall of Waves stuff before installing again. Have you tried to clear out all the old Waves stuff?

Look on the Waves knowledge page and search for uninstall. If you can’t find them let me know. I’m off to bed. Nite!!

That’s the thing this is a brand new pc I bought a few days ago and am installing everything for the first time. Strange. I guess I have to see if I get lucky and hear back from support. I read a thread in the Sonar where it cost someone $200 for support meaning he had to WUP all his plugins to be able to use them. If Waves really pulled something like this on us where they are forcing us to WUP then They are dead to me. I will not invest anymore in companies who do this kind of thing and hold the products we buy for ransom. I have outboard eq’s, compressors etc. that I use like plugins that I’ve been relying on more and more anyway so I’m not going to be hustled.

I appreciate everyone’s help. Thank you

I find that Waves support in situations like this, work better over the phone, even though you might have a little wait time.
When waves central 10 first came out last week, I wasn’t sure about what prompt to select, glad I called because the tech had to go through the steps and find out which was correct, meaning it was an obvious unclear step. I think a lot of people got their plugs screwed up through that particular process, but the good news is, he did tell me that if it got screwed up, that it could be fixed, it would just be a longer more tedious offline install correction.

I have had that happen so many times that I take measure before I even try to install something.
1. Windows key + R
2. type in %localappdata%
3. Waves Audio
4. click on instl
5. delete the cache, I have deleted whole folder and just contents and it worked both ways

I don’t recall if I restart my computer every time. Prob a good idea though.

If I can get all of my V9 plugins in version V10 after paying for WUP, what would the purpose be to keep V9?
I can see why someone would delay V10 if they don’t want to dish out the money right now.

If you already payed though I guess I’m missing the advantage of keeping both.

I gave it one more try this morning and it worked. All my v9’s installed. What I think I did wrong was un the install for the offline central. I noticed in programfiles another folder called central L and there was another called central. I uninstalled everything and deleted these two folders as well as anything else related. This time I just installed waves central and went through the procedure bassdaddy gave me and it worked. I think the central L folder was causing the issue.

Just FYI — I’ve been dealing with some of the same confusing issues between versions 9 & 10. This helped me straighten things out and thought it might help — similar to above.

I came across this on the Samplitude forum — someone there received this procedure from the Waves techs:

Doing a Clean Install —
If you have IR convolution reverb impulse files, please back up the following folders:
•C:Program Files (x86)WavesDataIR1Impulses
•C:Program Files (x86)WavesDataIR1Impulses V2
• C:Program Files (x86)WavesDataAcoustics.net Impulses (if exists)

First, uninstall:
1.Launch Central.
2.Go to Install > Uninstall, checkmark both boxes and click Uninstall.
3.Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall Central.
4.Go to C:Program Files (x86) and delete the Waves folder.
5.Press [Win key]+R, type %AppData% and hit Enter.
6.In the ‘Roaming’ folder that shows, drag the Waves Audio folder to your desktop.
7.Press [Win key]+R, type %LocalAppData% and hit Enter. In the window that shows, delete the Waves Audio folder.
8.Press [Win key]+R, type %ProgramData% and hit Enter. In the window that shows, delete the Waves Audio folder.
9.Delete any WaveShell files you find in the following locations (if exist):
•C:Program FilesVSTPlugins
•C:Program FilesCommon FilesAvidAudioPlug-ins
•C:Program FilesCommon FilesVST3

It’s just too confusing for me to keep two versions of the plugins on one machine. Buying Gold on sale for 60 and change was a good deal. This automatically WUPPED me for 4 or so years. I had a handful of additional plugins that were WUPPED by default due to the purchase dates. Only maybe 5 others remained UNWUPPED. Not things I needed, like Bass rider and PugTec which I have other similar versions of.

I didn’t need to WUP those plugins but decided based on the price I was given which was significantly lower than the website price I would do it for the sake of keeping all of my plugins in one place and have them all updated.

Waves then gave me a voucher for the full WUP Waves website amount. I like the way it worked out. I shouldn’t need to WUP again for awhile and I have everything in V10. IF I had been required to buy at full WUP price I probably would have waited.

Glad it worked out for you Tim. Waves got some really good plugins for the money. Best bang for buck IMO. But the install (and uninstall if need be!) is really a PITA sometimes.

But the reason for all of that is the Waves System. That’s the little box below the title bar of the plugin window. You can save all your presets for all their plugins in any location you want. One good reason for this is to back those presets up. Also if your a big name producer and travel to your gigs, then saving your presets to a USB key is no problem.

So with the Waves system you can keep a copy of WC, a complete offline install package of all your Waves plugins, all of your license, and all of you presets on one USB stick that you can take with you and install on any computer and be up and running in a few minutes.

Downside to that is all the BS you will leave on the computer you install it on!! : )

I would suggest to everyone with Waves plugins to copy the uninstall instructions in the post above and keep them in a safe place. Hopefully you never need them. But if you do, they are not readily available on the Waves support pages. I can never find them anyway.

Using WAVES plugins in FL Studio

UPDATING? On Windows, WAVES plugins use a single WAVES SHELL plugin, that acts as a container for all WAVES plugins. This means that if you have updated your WAVES plugins, or install a new one, you MUST perform a ‘Verify plugins‘ scan in FL Studio with ‘Rescan already verified plugins‘ selected. This is because the the WAVES SHELL plugin is unchanged and so FL Studio does not know something is new there and won’t rescan it to discover your new or updated plugins in the shell.

The standard procedure to use Waves plugins in FL Studio is as follows:

Install Waves plugins normally
In FL Studio, open the plugin selector from the mixer (see image 1 below)
From the plugin selector, choose one of the «waveshell-. » plugins (see image 2)
The plugin wrapper will open showing a selector control, containing all the plugins that are available for that specific «waveshell-. » plugin (see image 3)

Select the plugin you want to load from the selector and it will open (see image 4)

NOTE: that this procedure only works in FL Studio 9 or later.

Networks: Some people have reported that disabling Bluetooth (Ad hoc) networks can solve failure to load issues. It seems that the Waves license center can inappropriately try to use Ad hoc networks to connect to the internet (and fail). These may be created when you connect or tether your mobile phone/tablet to the network through your computer/laptop.

Older versions of Waves plugins don’t work in 64bit versions of Windows. The workaround for this is to use a program called shell2vst to wrap the Waves plugins into another plugin. Then most of them will work.

When you use shell2vst, you can load the plugin as it was wrapped by shell2vst directly. You don’t have to open «waveshell-. » anymore.

Аудио Софт, VST Плагины, Синтезаторы, Студии, Здравствуйте, помогите пожалуйста, у меня уже установлены плагины waves и только что обновил wavescentral. Хочу с новой раздачи скачать vocal bender. Можете подсказать какие файлы с раздачи установить чтобы скачать только определенные плагин (в моем случае vocal bender) или легче всё скачать и переустанавливать. Как будет лучше и как действовать? Как пропатчить или что либо такое.. Не слетят ли мои установленные плагины? Не хотелось бы переустанавливать все плагины.

Я предполагаю что нужно установить всё с новой раздачи и просто установить wavescentral и заново по инструкции как можно этого избежать?

Как установить VST на Macbook Pro

Всем привет! Ради спортивного интереса попробовал установить Vanguard на Mac и открыть его в программе Logic Pro X.Неудача! Пробую установить Massive тоже самое).В инете ни чего внятного не нашел по этому поводу.Кто уже прошел эту мастурбацию,подскажите что сделать?)

в виндовс основным форматом плагинов является VST, на макоси — AU. вст на макось тоже существуют, поддерживаются программами типа Аблетона и Куба. Но основной формат — AU, и я не помню, чтобы лоджик дружил с VST, хотя никогда таким вопросом и не задавался, я вст не устанавливаю никогда.
все плагины, которые выходят для макоси, обязательно есть в формате AU

так что скачивая тот же Мэссив для макоси, в комплекте всегда будут AU
с точки зрения работы вам абсолютно неважно, AU это или VST, разницы не почувствуете

располагаются AU плагины в папке Components, имеют расширение .component

вот вид этой папки

находится по пути /library/Audio/Plug-ins/Compon ents

Случайно обновил что-то в Waves Central и теперь все плагины от них говорят, что лицензия не найдена. Что делать: полностью сносить и переустанавливать или всё же есть способ активировать лицензию?

И вы не подумайте, что я издеваюсь. Всё надо бэкапить.
А что теперь делать — хз.

Не был ли включен какой-нибудь VPN при прошлой установке, который при обновлении не был задействован (или наоборот). У меня была проблема из-за VPN. Собственно, она и сейчас есть. С выключенным VPN плагины не загружаются.
Читайте их FAQ на сайте. Там очень много ответов на всевозможные варианты проблем.

Похожая ситуация была с плагинами от артурии, решилось деактивацией с удалением папки из ProgramData и затем повторной активацией

если типа жёсткий и материнка не менялись, то просто войдите в waves central, соединитесь с интерном … и всё активируется автоматом.

Ага, но при этом не должно меняться сетевое оборудование, а оно меняется даже на софтовом уровне, поэтому лицухи могли слететь и из-за этого.

Поехали. Первый подтвердившийся баг: Кирилица в имени учётной записи Виндоус 11 приводит к появлению сообщений Рантайм еррор и далее следует крэш Рипера. Решение от поддержки Waves — создание учётки на Латинице или откат к 12 версии плагинов. Обещают исправить в следующем обновление. Надеюсь не…

@darbi, у вас лицензия или народная версия? По симптомам похоже на народную.

Я по этому никогда купленное ваще ничего не обновляю. Потом проект какой-нить слетит, как у меня было с вэйвсом. Слетели все настройки в проекте на дефолтные, и потом заного трек пиши, а деньги уже взял по предоплате). Нах, зарёкся вообще глубоко на это дело. Причём ты за этот гемморой ещё и заплатил!
